Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Crab Orchard Lake

We were in town for a girls get away with some hiking and Twisted Sister was perfect! Such a beautiful setting and so close to the places we wanted to go. It was super easy to get in, very clean, and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves as we prefer to do. We also enjoyed strawberries from Flamm Orchard, and great hikes at nearby Little Grand Canyon and Cove Hollow, plus of course Giant City State Park. Candace was an excellent hostess. She lives next door but gave us complete privacy. And when I had questions or wanted recommendations she was super responsive. It made us feel safe and cared for. It is so nice that she shares her beautiful property with guests in this way. We will be back!

Jennifer’s place was perfect for what we needed, especially close to the hiking spots we were looking forward to along the Cache River. The house was clean and had lots of local recommendations, snacks, it was much bigger than we expected and Jennifer even reached out about what to do in the event of severe weather when the forecast looked not so great. Highly recommend!

Was a great place to spend a guys trip. We were able to grill out, sit outside on the deck, play yard games, and relax the rest of the night.

We used this for a few days of spring turkey hunting, very quiet and peaceful. Worked out just as it should have!!! Would definitely use again…. Thanks Joe!

We had a nice stay! After a long day of driving, it was just what we needed to relax. The house is clean, comfortable, and spacious. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Also recommend Benton’s cafe nearby!

Kevin’s place was PERFECT!! Super cozy & CLEAN! Our family loved the peaceful, secluded location. Kevin quickly responded any time I had a question and gave us several good recommendations. Our pups felt right at home too. We look forward to staying here again!

This house is amazing. Breakfast while overlooking the horse pasture, dinner out on the back deck. Everything in the house was spotless! The shower was so great. It had good water pressure! The beds were so comfy, I got the best sleep here. Better than I've gotten in a long time! The pool was clean. My kids enjoyed it, even though it was chilly out! They also enjoyed the games in the garage. My kids loved the popcorn machine, what a fun touch! The location is perfect. It's out in the country, but close enough to other towns that a run to the store doesn't take all day. It's very close to several Rend Lake Day Use Areas, which makes going out fun and easy! 10/10 Will stay again.

Loved staying at this location. So close to restaurants and shops and outdoor adventures. Very quiet. Amazing views of stars. Plenty of sleeping spaces. Very responsive and helpful host!

It was well worth the $! I had an amaziiiiing weekend! It’s absolutely beautiful- inside and out! The pool was SUCH a good time, I could’ve stayed in it for days! We grilled out and swam, it’s an unbelievably fun & peaceful experience. The host was extremely responsive, helpful and checked in making sure we had everything the whole stay. I would recommend it for sure! If I could give it 6 stars I would! I will definitely be staying here again!!!

We loved staying in Kevin's RV. The kids thought the bunk room was really cool. There were 2 adults, 3 kids and 1 infant and we had plenty of room. Everything was as listed and had everything we needed.

We chose to take this trip for our daughters birthday weekend a perfect setting to get away and have the option to camp, fish, swim and able to relax around a peaceful fire while eating smores. The camper had everything we needed very nice and spacious. The beds were very comfy. The area was nice and quiet. We caught fish from the dock. The family was welcoming to the pool area. And cant forget the friendly Pugley. He was for sure a bonus he loves to play fetch.

Our stay was amazing. Our host were super accommodating of some special requests we had. The pool house was just we needed to make our two night stay the most memorable for our family.

We stayed at Cassi’s for the 2024 eclipse. The location was so peaceful. We brought our 32’ camper and she said “go anywhere in the back” so we set up in view of the pond. There were 8 others guests in tents. They were all so friendly. The kids loved playing with the dogs and kept talking about Aero and Zep all day after left. (I just realized that those dogs are probably named after Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin) Next time there’s an eclipse that cuts across Cassi’s yard you should definitely stay here! Or if you just want a nice place that’s not far from home.

The property is beautiful. The home is exquisite. The only thing we would’ve like to have seen was recommendation for food in town. We’ll be back on our way to Mississippi! Absolutely lovely experience and the host was very friendly and responsive.

This was a lovely weekend getaway location, very close to some of southern Illinois' natural wonders! The cabin provided a private and cozy space to stay, cook, and relax. We would love to visit again someday!

Casey’s house is amazing! We had the windows open all weekend because of the weather, and it was so peaceful. Loved the surrounding trees and the comfy screened-in back porch. Casey was the perfect host and very accommodating with my requests. Would 100% stay there again!

This has been one of the best places I’ve stayed at. If you’re looking for somewhere to get away from everything, this is perfect for you.

My husband & I enjoyed our stay at Kennedy’s Place. The hosts are super nice & friendly! Rooms are large & appliances are updated! The house is decorated with historic & cute pictures, along with a beautiful picture of Garden of the Gods. Antiques decorate the home, which I love! The backyard is huge & my husband & our dog spent many hours sitting outside & relaxing next to a fire pit. I highly recommend staying at Kennedy’s place! And if you are looking for restaurant recommendations, Morello’s has scrumptious lunch & dinner entries & Mackie’s Pizza has been a favorite of locals. You can even get apples on your pizza! It is delicious!

Staying with Gina was an absolute pleasure! The place was clean, homey and had all the creature comforts we could ask for. Gina herself was incredibly welcoming and even offered for us to use her pool because it was so hot out. Our dogs loved having free range and being able to wander. The morning visit from Gina’s horses was also super sweet. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I’d book there again in a heartbeat!!

Had a lovely stay! Feeding the turtles from the porch and canoeing around the pond were the highlight of our trip. We hiked the little grand canyon and visited Scratch Brewery during the day, perfect addition to a relaxing weekend surrounded by beautiful nature.

If you are looking for a nice old house in a neat little town this is it. We had our family visit us from the area and it was a perfect place to host from. The kitchen was well stocked and made cooking a breeze. Also the host was very responsive to any questions we had about the house and the area. We will definitely stay here again if we will be in the area!
