Perfect Peak District Stone Cottage Retreat

Matchbox Cottage is an idyllic retreat to the South East of the Peak District, perfect for up to 4 people. We have some of the best walks in England right on our doorstep. Dog friendly, one small or medium dog welcome. Situated only a 4 minute downhill walk to the centre of the historic, picturesque village of Wirksworth. Pubs, restaurants, cinema and shops are all close by. Our cottage has been lovingly restored and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Quiet hideaway in Matlock with far reaching views

The Snug is in a great location on the edge of Matlock town centre. The space is cosy and has a great view over towards Matlock bath and the surrounding areas. It’s a great base for exploring the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District. The walk to town is approximately 10 minutes downhill, bit more on the way back! Lots of shops and supermarkets within easy walking distance and easy access to lovely countryside walks.
