Water views, log burner, walking, fishing, sailing

Wow what a location and property! We were so excited to arrive and were overjoyed when our high expectations were exceeded! This really is a spot of magic, the views, scenery and local walks are unbeatable and the cottage is truly beautiful inside, with everything you would need for a luxury relaxing stay. We have already talked of when to return. Sunrises from the back garden were spectacular.

Country house on edge of beautiful village

LeeRating, 5 stars7 months ago
A lovely home from home in a village with some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Ended up leasing a property near by because I loved it so much! Lindsay is a great host going that extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect and problem free.

Idyllic Cottage Area Outstanding natural Beauty

Thomas And SheryalRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Stayed for 3 nights, so quiet and peaceful. Lots of birds to see and hear. One disappointment was that the local pub and cafe, a quick walk, were only open Thursday to Sunday and we were there from mon to Thursday. However, 2 miles down road is another pub and cafe, although for us, not walkable so we drove. It’s a bit small and dark downstairs but very doable and the upstairs bedroom is large and very bright, bathroom is a good size. We would definitely stay again. We also enjoyed the wood burner in living room.

Acorn Cottage, Converted Barn, Westgate

ClareRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Acorn cottage is a lovely cosy cottage set in the beautiful Durham Dales. While only an hour or so from home it felt like a different world. The beautiful slitt woods with its many little waterfalls just a stone throw away. My cocker Spaniel loved the peaceful garden and his first puppacino that Amy made for him from her coffee van (My iced latte also excellent) We came after a rough few weeks looking for some peace and relaxation and Acorn cottage was just the right place for us. The cottage is clean and tidy with everything you could need. We couldnt initially log on to wifi and Mark sorted it within 5 minutes. Amy and Mark were friendly and approachable and on site, however left us in peace to enjoy our break. We managed to meet the peacock too We miss Acorn Cottage already and will definitely be back - highly recommended to friends and family also.

Garden Cottage in tranquil North Pennine valley

MairRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We loved our stay at the cottage. Peter and his family were kind hosts, allowing free access to the beautiful grounds at their property. Our puppy loved being able to chase the resident dog (Betty) around the secure garden, a first for her! The cottage is immaculate and even nicer than the photos. The location was perfect for quiet long walks, remaining unspoiled from tourism. It really was lovely and we’d love to come back.

A beautiful peaceful spot surrounded by beautiful countryside and views. We particularly loved the field with the horse behind the house. Beautifully decorated. Comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen.

The cottage is so pretty and homely and in a beautiful location and easy to access with some amazing sites and walks nearby. The cottage has everything you will need for a relaxing stay. The little lambs were bouncing around the surrounding fields which made it extra special.

Stunning views nr Lake District, spacious & snug

SarahRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
What an absolutely stunning location! We wanted a relaxing break and this is exactly what we got. Vicki and Tom have created something really special. The Hayloft is small yet had everything we needed for a family of 5. There were plenty of books and games to enjoy. Vicki greeted us at the door, making us feel welcome and had left us some homemade treats. The kids had a blast, exploring the grounds, playing on the trampoline and climbing the nearby hill to catch a glimpse of the fighter jets flying overhead. There was a lovely walk to the river and you can roam freely over the fields. We enjoyed watching the sheep and horses roam and also saw deer, rabbits, frogs and kestrels. The house has a view of the Settle-Carlisle railway so we enjoyed a bit of train spotting too. There was so much to soak up before we even thought about heading out. The nearby town of Kirkby Stephen had plenty of shops and we enjoyed a meal from The Mango Tree Indian. We would 100% recommend a stay here!
