Off-the-Grid Peat Hut in the Middle of Lake Vinkeveen

Only a 20-minute drive from Amsterdam, you will find yourself completely in nature, on an island in the Vinkeveense Plassen. This hut is the only peat hut still standing on the lakes from the time of peat cutting. The peat cutters laid the peat to dry in this hut and also slept there. During WWII, the resistance stayed in this hut, and after WWII, the hut also served as a "church" for the fishermen who went there to mass. In the peat hut, it is possible to accommodate up to 6 people.

If you come with young children, you can rent an electric cargo bike from us. Ask the host about this.

For the cold months, there is a fireplace, outdoor stove, lovely hot tub and heated outdoor shower.

A 5 HP motorboat, which you can steer without a license, and is included in the price. The environment is peacefull and full of nature. This place is perfect to swim, fish , sunbathe or just relaxing inside or outside. Near to Amsterdam and Utrecht and easy reachable by public transport.
