Our cosy cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, one double bed and sitting room/diner with views across the valley.

Croeso (welcome) to North Wales, Gilfach is a cosy 1 bedroom self-contained annex situated 2 miles from the market town Dolgellau in the footfalls of Cader Idris mountain in the Snowdonia National Park. Created just for two we hope you enjoy your home away from home while you’re visiting the beautiful mountains. We are ideally located for mountain walking, mountain biking at Coed Y Brenin, beach days at Barmouth & Fairbourne and outdoor thrill activities at many attractions including Zip World.

Wood-burner, covered veranda, Wi-fi and Netflix, one bedroom, bathroom with shower and double basins, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Walks right from the door, private and not overlooked, Mach Loop in the same valley. Pub within walking distance (roughly 20 mins, sensible footwear recommended). Not suitable for people with disabilities or mobility problems. Sorry no dogs.

Unfortunately, we cannot yet accommodate pets and as we have only one double bed, the accommodation suits adults. As a first floor apartment the stairs may be difficult for some guests.

There's lush river swimming spots, lakes, waterfalls and mountains to explore. Our nearest beach is Aberdyfi, just 30mins away. 16mins drive to the epic Cadair Idris!

Sŵn-y-Dŵr is located in the Snowdonia National Park and occupies a tranquil position in the historic market town of Dolgellau, renowned for its breathtaking views and scenic walks in the foothills of Cader Idris. The former coach house stands in private mature grounds, and is approached via a gated entrance and a sweeping gravel drive ascending to the property. It is a self contained first floor apartment, accessed via external steps to the rear of the building, that dates back to 1780.
