Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Dominica

Fantastic view. Hot water. AC in bedroom, washer, quiet neighborhood, pool. What more can you ask for? I recommend a car. but we are able to take public busses daily from close by. Harry and Tina were extremely helpful in all ways, including holding our bags after check out so we could enjoy it last day before the afternoon ferry.. Great stay, will stay here again.

Citrus Creek Plantation is located in the middle of nature... connected to a beautiful river. A special place to experience jungle in Dominica. We had dinner every evening in the restaurant and enjoyed to get spoiled by the team...thanks for the beautiful days

A great place, perched on the dreary Bruce. Corinne is super nice, good advice and ready to help if needed (and French, it can help for those struggling a little in English) Apartment 30 minutes from Roseau on foot, but it goes up a little to get there, that said it goes down to leave, so it's up to you. Corinne also has a small bar that will help you cool off once you arrive at the listing.

Great spot on the hill at Scott’s Head. Very quiet and safe. Nice neighborhood. The manager Mrs Adams is right next door. She is super sweet and very helpful. I felt right at home.

This rustic riverside cottage was the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and convenience. Tucked away in nature but only 10 minutes from the airport, it made our departure incredibly stress-free—without sacrificing the peaceful, off-the-grid vibe we were craving. The cottage is simple and rustic in the best way—clean, cozy, and full of character. The real highlight is the river just steps away, it felt like having a private natural pool right outside our door.

Lawrenson is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet! So kind and generous! Always willing to share with you all the different produce growing on his property. Bananas, plantains, papayas, guavas, breadfruit, ginger, turmeric, coconuts, tania, limes, sugarcane etc! Listening to the crashing waves of the Atlantic are soothing and peaceful. The pleasant sea breeze is a blessing! There is plenty of room in the house. The kitchen is very well stocked with high quality stainless steel pots and pans. Make sure to bring the groceries you’ll need for your stay. Like Lawrenson says, the beauty of Dominica is in its simplicity! Good Hope is a beautiful quiet village. You’ll definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle which you should have in Dominica anyway! We visited Emerald Pool, Spanny Falls, Jacko Falls, Jacko Flats, Salton Falls which are all within 30 minutes. There is a gas station in the neighbouring village of San Sauveur. We truly enjoyed our 18 days in this mini paradise!

We really enjoyed Cornell's home. It felt like our own slice of paradise. The view is amazing. The house was a bit hard to find, but we managed, would not want to try and find it in the dark. The area has some nice restaurants. Would definitely recommend staying at Cornell's.

The views are spectacular so hanging out on the decks and balconies is what this place is about. The house is also big. We took the 3 bedroom option which turns out to be the top two and a half floors. I would definitely recommend this place and would gladly stay here again. The drive up takes about 10 minutes and you cannot trust google maps so ask for directions. The drive is typical but not for the faint of heart. Absolutely worth it if you like spectacular views of mountains, forests, ocean and city lights. Wonderful.

We had an excellent stay at Jacqueline's place. The unit is situated in a peaceful neighborhood with a stunning view. Its central location makes it convenient to visit key attractions in Dominica, including the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, various hot springs, and Mero Beach. Jacqueline was an outstanding host—friendly, always responsive, and eager to share local tips and insights. Overall, the unit is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Dominica.

My husband and I had a most enjoyable stay at Lessie’s vacation apartment. Even though we did not spend a lot of time in the apartment, we did have the opportunity to interact quite a bit with Lessie, his wife Nettie and their lovely kids. We cannot express enough, the kindness and hospitality extended to us by this family. The apartment itself was very nice, clean and most importantly safe, however, you do need transportation to stay there and to get around. We would definitely stay at Lessie’s vacation rental again and would not hesitate to recommend it.

OMG…where to start? Isha was one of the best host I’ve encountered. With all my travels there has been only one other person I would say that about. As soon as I walked into the place I felt at home! It was so beautiful. So nicely decorated. Usually I feel the need to clean or at least spray lysol, but not there. The whole place was spotless. And matched the pictures perfectly! It was so quiet and peaceful there. The mattress was so comfortable. I used the local bus to get there and it was very easy to find. The checkin instructions were the best I’ve ever gotten, so easy to get in. There is a very nice restaurant and market, within 1-2 minutes walk. I didn’t walk to the beach because I did a day tour, but I understand there is a nice one within a short walk. If I find I need a stay in Calibishie, this is where I will be staying.

First and foremost I want to say thank you to Stev. I appreciate the information you provided and for being very accommodating to anything I needed. As for the unit - very comfortable and private Airbnb, the pictures do not do any justice. Plus it is close to all the attractions in Laudat - everything was a 10-15 minute drive. The outdoor shower is a nice touch and loved hanging out in the backyard listening to the river flow. If this unit is available during your trip to Dominica "Do Not" miss out. This place superceded my expectations by a mile and I'm grateful I had the opportunity to stay here 6 nights. Wonderful Airbnb and exceptional host. Can't wait to come back.

We had a great stay at Philson’s place in Portsmouth. The house is well thought out, super clean, and comfortable. Philson himself was a fantastic host: friendly, easy to communicate with, and genuinely helpful. He even picked us up and dropped us off at the bus stop, which was incredibly kind and made everything so much easier. The location is peaceful and well connected, and the instructions for getting there were clear and spot on. All in all, a really smooth and enjoyable stay. Highly recommended! Thanks again, Philson!

We stayed at Ashton's place for two months. The steep hill upto the apartment is very steep. The views from the balcony make it worthwhile. The walk to Douglas Bay beach about 30 mins taking you right through the town. Coconut beach also.about 30 mins but going the other way. Lots of local bars/restaurants walking distance. On our first day we arrived quite late and as we didn't know area Ashton kindly picked us up and we went to his restaurant for dinner Soursop, highly recommend. We hired a car to see the island. Lots to do. We hired from QB Vehicle Rentals.

Great accomidations with extra large bedroom with an extremely comfortable bed, nice size shower, and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment is clean, comfortable, and safe. less than a 30 minutes drive to the airport. Dining options, fruit stands, mini markets, and sightseeing in the vicinity. The host is friendly and responsive. I recommend Sapphire Studios for with a short or long term stay.

We had such an amazing stay at Webster’s magical place. The beach is right outside and we slept like babies listening to the waves. Webster and his partner were so friendly and he went above and beyond in helping us find our way around. We would love to come back another time! His restaurant is also an incredible spot ☺️

I enjoyed my stay. The area is very quiet during the day, and it is a few minutes away from the town of Roseau, which I liked. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for convenience and accessibility.

Very nice accommodation with sea view and very well located. It is functional and clean. We had a crush on this place. Small downside on the restaurant which is on the ground floor which can make very festive evenings.

It is a very nice and modern apartment with good internet and beautiful ocean view. Martina was very nice and helpful, thank you! The apartment is not far away from the main road with access to the public bus, but I highly recommend a rented car.

This is in a really cool neighbourhood - a very narrow street, with kids and cats and dogs and roosters, chickens and goats and even a donkey at one point. The neighbours were friendly and helpful. There is a well-stocked convenience store a few streets over, and it is fairly close to restaurants, though probably not in close walking distance. Having a washer was great after days of hiking. Lots of amenities, incredibly quick response to questions, very comfortable beds, and an absolutely lovely view from the balcony. My travelling companion initially wanted a resort type of accommodation. Don't do it! This is the real thing. Recommended.

Close to airport, spacious apartment and spotlessly clean. Sana was very helpful at check-in. New furniture and appliances throughout apartment.

Johnathan and Gilly were exceptional hosts; super friendly and welcoming. Gilly greeted us with a handwritten welcome card and was flexible with check-in/check-out. The house itself is stunningly clean, well-kept, and the kitchen is fully functional and equipped with everything you could possibly need— I especially appreciated the standing mixer! The fridge was generously stocked to help us settle in, including a bottle of wine, local snacks and dry goods. Each bedroom had fresh flowers, linens clean and fresh with TONS of closet and storage space. The bathrooms came with lovely local toiletries. Pool is well-maintained and perfect for evening swims. I appreciated the washer/dryer with laundry pods and the first aid kit which shows the kind of care the hosts put into every detail. The area is super peaceful even with neighbors nearby, very tranquil and private. I’m sad the stay was so short, but I’ll absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Dominica. I will be back.
