Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Douro-Dummer

Our stay was more than we could have asked for. This Airbnb is a hidden gem. We’ve been to many Airbnbs all over the world, and I can tell you this one is really special. The garden is very spacious, with friendly little cows in the background. The inside is also spacious thanks to the beautiful high ceilings. The decor and original church aesthetic they kept makes you feel at home. The outdoor annex for extra guests is so cozy and cute!! it really comes in handy if you are more than two. This Airbnb truly has everything a household needs, from bug spray to doggy bags. We’re usually honest and critical about Airbnbs, and we don’t shy away from pointing out things that could be improved, but with this one, we truly have nothing bad to say. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Jay was so responsive to us and all of our needs. His uniquely designed home was a perfect back drop for celebrating my weekend get an away! The beautiful outdoor space, the sprawling interior, and the extremely well stocked kitchen are all the things that made the trip extra special and easy. Thanks for a great stay!

This was the best airbnb I have ever stayed in! We stayed for our wedding weekend - the natural lighting here was absolutely PERFECT. Super close to Peterborough! Sylvia not only let us take photos on the property, she gave us a free gift and offered for us to check out later the day after our wedding. It was also the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in at an airbnb. I cannot recommend more!

We stayed here for an extended long weekend and had the best time. The place had everything you would need for the stay. Our dogs loved all the open space for running around and would go up and visit the alpacas throughout the day. Gisele and Joel were extremely friendly and welcoming in all aspects. Any questions we had they were quick to respond. We will definitely plan on visiting again in the future.

Highly recommend Prince’s place! It was exactly as described, was in a great location and was extremely well equipped. Prince was super communicative and checkin/out was quite simple. Great spot for a weekend away!

We loved our stay at Neil and Janin’s Chalet. The Chalet is beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The setting is tranquil, private and peaceful. It was especially beautiful at this time of year because of the leaves changing. Everything exceeded our expectations. We are looking forward to returning!

We needed a large place for our group, and Ann’s home delivered. It easily fit our group of 12 with lots of space. The weather unfortunately didn’t cooperate to use the lake, but the view was amazing.

Ollie and Frank were tremendous hosts. We loved the log cabin and all their recommendations were exceptional. We will be back!!!

We stayed at the Marmora Retreat this past weekend with 16 girls and could not have had a better time! The property is beautiful, including a large deck with tons of space to play games and chill in the nice weather. Despite it raining for half of our weekend, the house's layout provided a lot of space for us to play games, relax, cook, and enjoy each other's company. The beds were super comfortable, and we all departed feeling refreshed after a weekend full of laughs. We are already talking about returning for another weekend during the summer to take advantage of the pool! We highly recommend the Marmora Retreat, and thank you so much, Brendan, for providing a space for all of us to get together comfortably!

We stayed from 4 night, and despite having almost 72 hours of light but constant rain (it looked like a veil of rain when looking over the fields), we were very comfortable and cozy in the cottage. The trails attached to the cottage are a nice gateway into the surrounding forests. They are and thick with trees that sheltered us from the rain (and any cabin fever). This location also prvoided us easy access (via bike) to the Durham mountain bike trails in the area when the rain let up finally, near the end of our stay.

Heather’s cottage was amazing! Able to accommodate a group of guests without squishing or being in anyone’s way! A couple little insects wanted to join our weekend but nothing a paper towel and a double wipe with some all purpose cleaner couldn’t beat! After all it is a cottage! Amazing large space (especially that sunroom!) with lots of amenities (the hot tub, chrome cast, indoor speakers and pool were a BIG HIT)! Great for game nights and the sunsets were beautiful. Bunker house was also clean and very comfortable for some of guests to stay in! Overall great experience and our hosts were so nice and easy to talk to. Would recommend this cottage and would definitely book again!

We stayed at the North COTTAGE for a ladies work trip to Peterborough. Everything was as listed, and this was one of the cleanest Airbnbs I have stayed in! We really loved the coffee bar, and the morning view was beautiful. The hot tub and pool were very clean and great to use after a long day of training. Thanks for a pleasant stay, Mike!

We have stayed at Bertrand’s place a couple of times now and highly recommend this. It is a lovely home and very private. Bertrand is the perfect host…very helpful and responds quickly all the time.

We had the best time at this lovely place. Deborah and Ross are amazing hosts and incredibly kind people. Thank you for everything :) the place is also super clean and feels like home! If you are bothered by bugs, don’t miss out to visit the lovely little store ‘zebra with a different stripe’ to get some great all natural bug spray!

Our family (6 adults) enjoyed the weekend cottage stay immensely. The kitchen is large and well equipped and we cooked the majority of meals. The beds are comfortable, the two washrooms are a generous size - it is good to note these are located on the main floor while the bedrooms are upstairs. The cottage has a great view of the changing leaves perfect for a relaxing Thanksgiving weekend getaway.

What a special location to get away from the noise of the city without being too far away. Charming set up, and had everything you need.

Wonder location on a beautiful lake. The house is on a smaller bay, which made for easy kayaking and paddle boarding away from boat traffic. The water toys for guest use were top notch, much better quality than the usual rental property.

Fantastic stay at a wonderful location. Everything was perfect for our visit. We look forward to returning again.

A rural cabin with unexpected modern conveniences. Everything is new and works well. Beds and mattresses are great. Rare you find great comfortable mattresses. Sheets and blankets all smart freshly washed. Perfect for my dog. Private and safe. Bbq worked great and very hot. Not one thing disappointed me about this place. The host was happy to answer any questions. Even at 10.30 pm. Thank you it was great.

The cottage was nice, clean and quiet, easy to find and close enough to town (Lakefield) to secure any items we forgot, and a Tim's for those who can't go without. The waterway was quiet out to the larger lake area, easy enough to paddleboard or row out to. Plenty of fish off the dock if that is your go to. Not sure if it was just the season, but no mosquito bites at all, and with no bug spray on.. maybe we got lucky. Sean was easy and pleasant to communicate with, no issues at all during our stay.

Casey's home was beautiful and the effort they put into the small touches really shows.Everything was spotless when we got there and their instructions were clear and helpful. Their guide on things to do in the area were also great. We enjoyed the hot tub, the BBQ, and the patio in equal measure and overall had an amazing time! Thank you Casey, we will be back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Patti and Dennis’s place! The location is stunning- right next to the lake with great views. Patti and Dennis were incredibly kind and welcoming hosts. We stayed with our 5 month old puppy, and they were so accommodating about it. We arrived earlier than the planned check-in time as our travel time was less than what we predicted. It meant a lot to us as first time pet travellers that we could check-in early. The home was cozy and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We had to leave the place early unfortunately due to work call and couldn’t enjoy kayak or paddling that they offered. Highly recommend this gem of a stay to anyone looking for peace, beauty and genuinely lovely hosts!
