Holiday rentals with a fire pit in East County, San Diego

This was by far the best air b n b I’ve ever stayed at. I will definitely be back for my next trip in San Diego. The place felt right at home. It was easy to get inside and the host was super responsive and helpful!

I've made three trips to San Diego in the past year. I stayed in two different airbns; one being this one, one downtown, and one upscale hotel, 7th floor bayside downtown. This was my favorite spot by far. Even if your business or pleasure is downtown (we do Padres), the uber fares or car rental is worth it to stay out in El Cajon at this spot. It is immaculate, beautifully decorated, and so peaceful. The hill view, quiet, and night and morning sounds are great. Nice view of the city lights. Almost too many areas/seating spots in the house to decide where to have your coffee or your drink. Neighbors waved, hot tub maintenance knocked on the door to check in, etc. The only issue was uber/delivery having trouble finding the house because there is a road that was likely once open but is now private, so they go to the wrong spot. I loved it here.

Alyssa was a great host! Very responsive and helpful. The location was private and had a great view. The living space was an amazing indoor/outdoor combo and the sliding doors really opened up the living space. Everything was amazing beyond our expectations and would recommend staying here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The backyard amenities were definitely the highlight - everything worked well. The hot tub took awhile to heat up but they changed the water that day and by our second night it was perfect. Sauna and cold plunge are a must. Inside, everything was clean and tidy. Would stay here again!

The heated pool and water slide were a huge hit, and we spent hours enjoying the water each day. Our host was amazing! Myrna was incredibly responsive, providing clear instructions and being available for anything we needed. The attention to detail and care truly made our experience special. My family and I had a fantastic stay at Tamara’s Airbnb. The property was exactly as described—beautifully decorated touches, and best of all, it included access to a private beach that felt like our own hidden getaway. We had originally planned to stay at the Gaylord Hotel but stumbled upon this listing—and we’re so glad we did. Choosing Tamara’s place turned out to be the best decision. The spacious layout, multiple comfortable beds, and well-appointed bathrooms offered a level of comfort and privacy that far exceeded what a hotel could provide. When we weren’t relaxing on the private beach, we explored the charming local town and rented electric bikes from IB Bikes, which was a perfect way to take in the area’s attractions and restaurants. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, stylish, and well-located retreat!

We had a lovely Memorial Day weekend at Richard's place!! Very cute cottage that was clean, bright, and had all the amenities. We loved that he included a wagon, beach chairs, umbrella, and beach toys for us to use. The beach was an easy few blocks away and took about 10 to 15 minutes to get to. Restaurants are within walking distance too. There were also plenty of bikes and helmets available to use and my family was able to enjoy a lovely ride in the neighborhood. Richard was very responsive, helpful, and kind. We enjoyed ourselves and look forward to going back!!

Location is very walkable to charming downtown Vista area, and the unit itself is clean, airy, and spacious with plenty of amenities! There are clear instructions in place too and the dedicated parking was a big plus. It was a peaceful and restful place to stay, thank you Kim!

Pretty much perfect. Location is just stupid perfect. Walk right over to the Del Coronado, right to the beach, right to coffee. The place is perfect for a couples romantic stay. I plan on going back each year. I would suggest using their parking at the B of A right next door. Totally worth it. I really have zero bad things to say. Value A+. Easy A+ Clean A+. Safety A+++++. Lobster rolls across the street A+. Buzzed coffee around the corner A++++. I’ll be back.

Loved staying at Lauren’s place. Upon entry, the space leading up to the apts front door was tighter than we expected - it was one unit of a few in a tight backyard. That said, the inside looked exactly as photos, spotlessly clean, the location was great, and it felt private. Lauren was very responsive and friendly, sharing local restaurant recommendation if desired. I would stay here again as it gave us a quiet homebase to relax with easy access to great food as we explored San Diego.

It was the perfect backdrop for my weekend, making the entire experience incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. Every detail was well thought out and the space felt both well done and welcoming. My husband, son and I needed a place to stay in Ramona while attending a wedding nearby. This was by far the best place I found and I was so hapy it was available. It's a huge ranch with lots of farm animals. We loved it. The house was clean and well appointed; beds were comfortable, and the porch for morning coffee was the best. This is only a 22-minute drive to Julian, and 5-6 miles from the town of Ramona. A++ -- 10 out of 10.

I absolutely fell in love with the historical charm of this cabin! It’s such a delightful spot, filled with an amazing atmosphere that makes it a perfect getaway. One minor hiccup during our trip from Arizona back to San Diego was the lack of cell signal, which made checking in a bit challenging. However, that small inconvenience couldn’t dampen our spirits! The vintage bathtub added such a lovely touch to our stay, and I appreciated the old-fashioned heating system that kept us cozy when the night air turned chilly. The porch was a gem as well! Nestled in nature and featuring comfy seating, it was the ideal spot to unwind. While the area doesn’t allow for outdoor lights, having a flashlight handy is a great idea if you’re arriving after sunset. The location is perfect for a leisurely stroll, and we enjoyed the fascinating history shared. Overall, we are truly grateful for the opportunity to experience this. Another bonus is that Julian is just down the street!

Words cannot describe the serenity that comes from sitting on the back porch. It is so incredibly beautiful. This place is amazing. The birds, the wild turkeys, the deer… just amazing. The house was quaint and cozy and well appointed. Would absolutely come back!

I cannot say enough great things about the Woodpile Inn! Such a beautiful and cozy little cabin. The cabin was well stocked and had everything you could need for a little getaway. Sandra was an amazing host and was very responsive and helpful. Would absolutely recommend!

The cabin was INCREDIBLE! Really appreciated the top not appliances as well as the incredible attention to detail in keeping the house an amazing rental property. Also appreciated how quickly the host responded to a few asks of mine, makes the difference!
