Der Ort ist ruhig in die Voreifel gebettet und durch seine Burg weit über die Grenzen NRW's bekannt. In wenigen Minuten ist die Autobahn 1 zu erreichen, zusätzlich verfügt der Ort über einen DB-Anschluss, über diesen ist Köln innerhalb von 50 Minuten erreichbar.
