Peaceful accommodation in rural Dorset

Accommodation is located just outside the village of Kington Magna, north Dorset between Shaftesbury, 7 miles, and Sherborne, 9 miles, and set in the owner’s grounds. Well situated for visits to the many National Trust properties in the area, the sea (about 45 mins), Bath and Salisbury (both 50 mins). Living area (kitchen/lounge) is on the first floor with double bedroom/ensuite bathroom and on ground floor twin bedroom/shower. Garden with patio and furniture. No smoking. One pet considered.

Cosy little cottage in Shaftesbury

My cottage is tucked away in a little lane by Shaftesbury hospital. It’s very near to the site of the historic Shaftesbury Abbey, Park Walk with its lovely rolling views over the Dorset countryside. Gold Hill - made famous by the much loved 1970s Hovis Bread TV commercial is within a short walk away. The cottage makes an excellent base from which to explore the borders of beautiful Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset, where the countryside, walking, cycling and dining out opportunities are fantastic.

Weir Lodge is located in the beautiful Dorset countryside offering stunning views of River Stour & Thomas Hardy countryside. The house is located within an equestrian farm estate and only 5 minutes walk to an award winning pub and Spar shop in the village. Centrally located for fun packed days out from Stonehenge, Stourhead, Longleat, Gold Hill, to Monkey World, Sherborne Castle and the Jurassic Coast. It’s also a very short drive to the popular Todber fishing lakes and historic Shaftesbury.

In the heart of Hinton St Mary, a 2 minute walk to the Tithe Barn wedding venue and surrounded by beautiful Dorset countryside perfect for walkers and cyclists. The village pub is a few steps away and the market town of Sturminster Newton with its mill, shops, cafes, bars and takeaways is less than 2 miles away.

It's well situated for many cultural & leisure activities throughout Somerset, Dorset & Wiltshire, as well as gorgeous countryside walks, National Trust properties and the Jurassic Coast. Breakfast stuff will be provided for your arrival and a fab family-owned grocery store, along with other amenities, is just 1 mile away. 13amp power point available outside for a small additional fee.

Hill House Cottage

Located close to the centre of Templecombe Village, Hill House Cottage is a charming, self-contained wing of a Grade II listed early 18th century house. The property has been renovated to a high standard with exposed stonework, flagstone floors, and a lovely wood burning stove in the sitting room, creating a very special holiday accommodation. The cottage is within walking distance of a convenience store, fish and chip shop and the nearest pub is less than 1 mile away.

Stourhead NT house and gardens are within walking distance with its cafes, gallery and farm shop. There are 3 country pubs within 1.5 miles which all do meals. Stonehenge, Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, Frome, Bath and Sherborne are all great trips out. Dogs welcome.
