Mark had a gorgeous property, perfectly appointed and pristine. He was a superb host, very responsive and so helpful. The forested lot provides a peaceful and private location just a short hike to the Shenandoah River. The surrounding natural beauty and wildlife were the highlight of our stay. The house was clean and offered beautiful scenery. The grill was located near the river, allowing you to enjoy cooking, dining, and taking in the view all at once. Due to the weather, the firewood was wet; it would be better if it were covered to ensure the fire pit remains usable after rain. Overall, I highly recommend this place and would definitely be happy to revisit.

This house is very well located for enjoying Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, & Front Royal, VA. The northern most park entrance is a very short drive, & the town of Front Royal is also a short drive. The house was very comfortable for my family of eight adults and one grandchild plus dog. We convened there for a week for a family get together. You won’t be bored. Solomon has provided everything you could possibly want to have fun and relax, from the very nice outdoor hot tub, fire pit with chairs and the makings of s’mores, hammock, and corn hole game, to the downstairs game room with pool table, the extensive library, fireplaces and nice back porch with grill, table, chairs, & porch swing, etc.! The master bedroom is amazing, the downstairs bedroom is also very nice, both with en-suite bathrooms. The other two bedrooms are much smaller and share a bathroom although there is a half bath off the kitchen. It worked for us. We hated to see the week end! Would come back.

fantastic mountain getaway. at first we were bummed the weather was going to keep us inside but this Airbnb made it such an enjoyable and relaxing vacation nonetheless. beds were very comfortable, space was beautiful, and such a bonus that they provided the firewood for evening fires. will absolutely be coming back to see this space intiple seasons.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! It was incredibly clean, cozy, quiet and peaceful. The cabin had everything we needed, and we especially appreciated the toddler gear, which saved us from packing extra items. We loved making s’mores by the firepit and curling up with books next to the gas fireplace on cool summer nights. The beds were super comfortable, and everything felt well cared for and inviting. As others have mentioned it’s quite the hike up the dirt road, but we had no problem in a small suv. It was a great retreat and would come back!

It was a peaceful getaway, even though it rained every day except one day, when we went to the State Park. Michael's place had a lot to offer, He has a game room in the basement and that kept us busy. The house was spotless and great scenery. Will rent again in the near future!

Timber Creek Lodge was a very comfortable setting for a romantic weekend getaway! Stocked with everything you'd need, and nestled in a private, wooded area.

River House – 5 Stars My husband and I stayed in the River House for 4 days. We totally enjoyed ourselves there. It was exactly what we were looking for, peace and quiet while gazing upon nature at its best. The house is very clean, neat and crisp with a touch of warmth everywhere. It has everything you could want for your stay, making it home-sweet-home. The house is nestled between trees and situated right on the bank of the Shenandoah’s running river. Enjoy the lush green forest across the river while drinking your morning coffee in the sunroom. You’ll see that this serene setting brings a daily refuge of birds nesting and hummingbirds feeding to the top deck. The sunroom is so cozy and inviting. It seems as if the house is on stilts sitting over the running river. The River House has two large decks, a patio and boats for your family’s enjoyment. We had such a great stay at the cabin. Steve was super communicative, responsive, and professional. He didn't just respond quickly if we reached out, he proactively reached out to us, to welcome us, to ask if everything was ok, to remind us about checkout time and procedures. He was really invested in our havinb a wonderful time, and we certainly did. He’s taken great effort to ensure the home is well appointed with kitchen supplies (e.g., spice rack, coffee, both keurig and drip percolator, teas, basic ingredients, pots/pans, etc.). All was in great condition, from spacious deck and grill, bath towels, toiletries. The parking area and fire pit w chairs are clean and convenient. Free, seasoned firewood kept under cover. Great views from a secluded, remote mountain property. We didn’t use the arcade game room but it’s a great space and amenity for families and friends. The deck is extraordinary. We loved listening to the birds calling and, of course, the quiet. Thank you, Steve!

we loved it. the lake is nice, good fishing, fun to swim at. grill was provided at house etc. my only drawback to be advised of is you cant have a campfire which would have been nice. not at Sandra's fault but their neighborhood doesn't allow it. place is very secluded and nice

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house offered so many things for us to do as a family. We had such a good time playing darts, pingpong, board games, and hanging out around the fire pit. The Woods is our favorite place to go because of all the amenities. Highly recommend!

The house was beautiful and extremely clean. We had a wonderful time watching the snow and wildlife through the windows while staying cozy by the fire. Beds were comfy and neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. Would definitely go for a restful retreat again.

We only stayed one night at the cabin—but what a night it was! We arrived in the evening and were immediately greeted by a small herd of cows, which absolutely delighted my dairy farmer husband and our farm-loving son. After a week at the beach in a less-than-cozy house with minimal amenities, followed by a full day of walking around Monticello, this cabin felt like a warm hug. The space was incredibly comfortable—recliners everywhere (my kind of paradise!) and plenty of seating for everyone. With two full bathrooms, it made traveling with my family and brother so much easier. The peaceful, scenic view was just the cherry on top. Our kids had a great time too—it’s a wonderful spot for families. We also really appreciated the complimentary coffee in the morning—a thoughtful touch from our hosts. Honestly, we kicked ourselves for only booking one night. Lesson learned… we’ll definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

We a wonderful place! We wanted to quiet retreat and it fit the bill. Nestled in the forest, all you see and hear is natural. Yet the house had all the things so you had a quiet spot with all the modern features. We completely relaxed, cooked delicious food, went to a brewery and celebrated our anniversary in tranquility. Here are a couple of notes: Bring your stocks of groceries with you. There is Wegman’s closer to town but once you are there, you won’t want to pop down to get to the store. You really need a 4 wheel drive to get to the house because it is really off the beaten path. But it is totally worth it! It could be hard to fine but you are given step by step directions which are spot on. Bring a throw blanket if you use one home. They have a wonderful bed with a super comfy comforter! But if you like to read under a throw, no biggie just bring one! Tori is a great host! Very responsive! We simply loved this place and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay. We did enjoy hitting some golf balls at the local course as well as some great hiking.

I surprised my husband with this trip with our son, nephews and brother in law for a birthday guys weekend. They were so happy with everything! My husband said it was the best weekend! Such a beautiful place! They didn’t have one complaint. Loved the set up and fishing and scenery! I’m so thankful they got this experience! My husband definitely wants to go back!

We loved our stay at C & O abode. It was exactly as described and as the pictures showed. The house is beautiful with amazing amenities such as heated floors, room darkening shades, sound machines in every room and toys and books in the kids room. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and beautiful decor. Jen was very responsive and even sent a long list of recommendations for things to do! The kids loved the crystal grotto caverns and the arial adventure park. Also highly recommend Harper’s ferry brewing for locals beers and delicious pretzels! We look forward to staying here again in the future.
