Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

Our home, features an original fireplace, flagstone floors, and local furnishings. Enjoy the courtyard garden and pool (a quiet relaxing space, our neighbours appreciate their tranquility too). The neighbourhood is quiet but attractions like the Pont d'Avignon, restaurants, and bars are all less than 10 minutes on foot. A parking space is within a 3-minute walk. You will not use the car in town but is will be great to explore Provence by day and return to your tranquil haven each evening.

We welcome you with simplicity in our large house (150m²) facing south. You will find calm there. Only you will have access to the swimming pool which will recharge your batteries after days of visiting our beautiful region. 20 minutes from Uzés, 40 minutes from Avignon and Nîmes, you will discover the Cèze valley, the Ardèche valley and many other gems!

Refurbished in 2018 by a well-known architect, it comprises a private terrace (30 m2), a living-room, a fully equipped open kitchen and a bedroom. Located 1 km away from Uzès, an ancient medieval city, the cottage is set on an estate of 6 hectares. Within this wonderful and calm environment, you will also be given the opportunity to spend some relaxing moments around the outside swimming pool and its pool-house.

This accommodation offers the choice between; * Barbecuing on the shaded terrace * Relaxing at the pool located a short walk from the house. Pool open from Easter to end of September (Dates vary depending on weather). * Meet on the bowling green for a game of pétanque The house is air-conditioned and there are 2 real bedrooms with 2 and 3 beds and 2 more beds can be added in the living room.

I am renting out a spacious 300 m² village house located in Gaujac in the Gard region, within a vineyard producing Côtes du Rhône. You will be close to the Duchy of Uzès and Pont du Gard (20 minutes), the Cité des Papes d'Avignon (30 minutes) and the ancient city of Nîmes (40 minutes). The seaside resorts of Grau du Roi, La Grande Motte and Port Camargues are 1 hour drive away.
