Cottage holiday rentals in Gaylord

This adorable cottage was the highlight of my vacation. My whole family loved it so much. We all agreed we would live there if we could! Beautiful property inside and out. The kids explored the wooded area, we utilized the fire pit, and the huge island was top tier. The layout and everything provided made for an incredibly easy stay. Very spacious with plenty of guest storage. Highly recommended! We will definitely use again. Communication was great. There truly was nothing more we could have asked for!

Omg, I don’t have the words for how awesome this place is. First, it is exactly what you see in the pictures and more. Second, it’s not far from anything and third, it’s so peaceful. I could get lost in pure bliss there. Weather I was in the hot tub, the porch, at the table on the deck, the fire pit, the dock, or even just sitting on the beach collecting rocks. Absolute Heaven. I’ve even told the rest of my family that next time we go to Michigan, we’re going to Traverse City and we’re staying at this house. Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much. Thank you!

April was an awesome communicator. We loved the place. I highly recommend it. The jacuzzi and wildlife watching was wonderful.

This cottage was so cute & cozy, and was fully stocked with amenities. They had a full coffee bar, fun games to play inside, cornhole for outside, kayaks, paddle boards and a paddle boat, and so much more. We spent our whole time outside enjoying the beautiful scenery and quietness. It was so relaxing and I would definitely recommend staying here, to friends and family. Plus downtown Gaylord was only a 10 minute drive away!

Really nice place and set up for a large group. Beautiful area, nice hot tub and sauna. Comfy beds and nice furniture! Kristi was an awesome and accommodating host.

Cannot recommend this host and this property enough. Nathan was communicative while we were still looking at the property, and responded quickly through the rest of the process until check out. He provided great recommendations for local places to try out and we had a peaceful stay. The property was roomier than expected for the master and cozy for the spare rooms, and we especially loved the living room and outdoor furniture. So happy to have found this gem of a place and excited to come back in the future!

We loved our stay at Hillview Haven and are already talking about when we can return! The house was perfect for our long weekend and the hosts have done a beautiful job with the space. It’s comfortable, well equipped and the views are amazing. Thank you for sharing this wonderful spot with us!

The rental was perfect. Just big enough for the 6 of us. We had all the amenities available and needed nothing. The grocery store was just up the road so we packed light. We also utilized the washer/dryer which was handy. On Saturdays, there is the Merritt Speedway. Good for a laugh and beer. Don't forget to visit Tastey Treat. First of all the location is just mind blowing. So quite and so private. Access to almost private beach. The cottage was cozy and had all the basic amenities that one would need for a small vacation with family. Whatever query we had Alec always responded within a few minutes. Was very happy with this stay. The only thing i would point out is that the exterior of the place needs a little cleaning and maintenance and i wish the kitchen had a little more utensils but thats about it. The lake is right across the street but not the best spot for bathing as its full of stones and too shallow but still beautiful to just sit and relax.

Ben was able to accommodate my last minute stay and I’m so appreciative! I was hoping to get away from the city and enjoy watching the lake with my partner and pup. We were obsessed with the sunroom, multiple board games/puzzle available, watching movies and just catching back up. The lake is still a bit chilly which worked for me because nobody else was out and about! It was such a peaceful, calming trip and I would definitely come back.

Meagan was a great host and reached out often to make sure we had everything we needed. The house was clean and spacious enough for the six of us plus our grand baby. The location was close to all the activities we had planned with scenic drives to all of them. We had a great weekend.

I wish I would have booked my stay for longer, and I had this place booked for two months. The privacy and views here and around, are unmatched and for the rates it is a no-brainer. There are trails within minutes and plenty of places to set off in a kayak or canoe. Lakes galore. Plenty of fun summer activities. The hosts were very kind and polite, and spoke to me like I was a person rather than a tenant for any amount of time. Best AirBnB experience I have ever had. Thank you guys. Hopefully I can make it back again sometime

The cottage was lovingly cared for. They paid attention to details. Everything was comfortable, one felt at home. Dennis and Tina were very responsive. I would definitely stay here again. The location was terrific for the scenery and the water.

Great, quite location. Well equipped and clean. Our dog loved the big yard to run while we relaxed on the nice deck. It's very dark at night, take a big basket for all the stars. Loved it, thanks Michelle

Great place for a family of 4. lots to do around or just sit by or in the lake. Wrap around porch and open living space with lots of windows overlooking the lake through a thin line of trees.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, tidy and cozy. The back deck was great and we enjoyed sitting out there watching the water. We like to cook so all of the lovely appliances were a bonus. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting the area.

Great place good location. Water was beautiful. Clean house. Just fyi there are about 4 flights of stairs to get to the dock and water. Not a distractor but just good to know if you have people that dont do stairs well. Hard to see from photos. Need to be able to do good stairs to get to dock so difficult if elderly or injured visiting. Overall great spot would stay again.

Lindsay's place looked just like the photos. I went with my family and we all loved the decor inside. The whole time we admired how beautiful the decor is and how everything goes so well together. Every detail was beautiful. The whole house was very clean. I have no complaints and no negatives to mention. Lindsay was also super responsive and helpful! Thank you Lindsay!

True North at Higgins Lake is a great find. It is immaculately clean with special touches like local art and a well stocked bathroom and kitchen. Beds and linens are nice like what you’d expect in a higher-end hotel. Just a short walk to the lovely Higgins Lake and a fire pit to enjoy s’mores. Natalie provides exceptional, unfussy instructions. We felt very comfortable there.

If you are interested in staying at a lake house in northern MI., this property should be seriously considered. The cottage is roomy, has a well-stocked kitchen and is located within a 30 minute drive of several attractions including a lavender farm, maple syrup sellers and the Grey Gables restaurant in Charlevoix. The grounds of the cottage are as seen on the Airbnb listing. It was a pleasure to just sit in the shade near the lake in between swims. It is my hope and expectation that we will return at some future date.

We stayed at the cabin for our honeymoon getaway and it was perfect. I wouldn’t have changed a thing about the house, the layout, or the decor. Private, quiet, and so much to do nearby. We stayed for 5 days/4 nights and already want to come back to explore more of the area, there is so much to pack in a short distance away! We will be back!
