Cabin holiday rentals in Grand Portage State Forest

This is a great little cabin located in a very private area. It was winter, so we weren't able to enjoy the net hammock but we wanted to :-) The circular staircase to the lower level (where the second bedroom and third bed are) is very tight. Our suitcases were small enough to get down there, but we would have struggled if they were bigger. I also missed the fact there wasn't a dishwasher. Luckily my sons were put to work.

Place is easy to find and really peaceful! The hot tub is really nice also.

We had a amazing stay! Very beautiful and quiet location, the sauna and environment were just what we needed to relax. Close to a immense of amount of locations for every type of mood. Really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of normal life.

This Airbnb was a perfect place for a larger group due to the spacious and well planned space. Everything was high quality and felt built to last, which seems rarer and rarer nowadays. We used the pool/hot tub and pickleball facilities. Pool+hot tub were a nice size and there was plenty of seating. We enjoyed the pickleball but the paddles did seem aged. It would be nice for the resort group to implement self check in for the ease of the guests but Crystal at the front desk was a friendly face.

We stayed here with our four kiddos for a brief spring break getaway. While the snow wasn’t there this year we had plenty of spaces and places to spread out and explore. We would definitely consider coming back again!

Nikita and Tyson were excellent hosts. This isnt any shock since this was our second visit/stay. Nikita was quick to respond and communicated well. They had cabin stocked with everything you would need to be comfortable. Its a very relaxing and private atmosphere. Both visits were amazing. My partner, step son and I were very comfortable. The beds were comfy and all the board games were a nice touch. If you're looking to unplug and enjoy the simple things in life then this space is perfect. We enjoyed every moment and felt at home- thank you Nikita &Tyson!!

We had a wonderful time staying here for the week. Kids did some fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. Caught some nice perch off the dock. Cabin was nicely stocked having a lot of necessities already there for you to use. It is in beautiful location with great views. Ivan was great, checking in with us often during our stay to see if there was anything we needed. Highly recommend!!

We had a great stay! The space was perfect for just the 2 of us. it was cozy and I loved the hammock swing! I was happy we could see Lake Superior from the porch and the walk to it really is quick with easy access to the beach. it was private enough with quick access to Grand Marais. we hope to stay here again!

This is our second year visiting the sweet gunflint gem. We adore Chad and Megan’s Norse Hus and highly recommend it to travelers who are looking for a serene and nature filled stay. We use this cabin as a jumping off point for all kinds of adventures- hiking, canoeing and fishing! Highly recommend taking time to unplug and take advantage of the stunning cabin they’ve curated in the woods

I can’t recommend Loon Lake Lodge enough! Beautiful, perfect cabin out of a dream! The view from the cabin is amazing, we had so much fun canoeing, paddle boarding, and fishing off the docks. Andrea was so kind to recommend a few hikes for us and they were incredible. There is no better way to start your day than a sauna and a plunge in Loon Lake. Absolutely loved it

Was a great place to stay in between Duluth and Grand Marais. Very clean airbnb!

Molly and Phil’s place was beautiful. It was a last minute getaway for my family of four and it was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed, and more! Phil was very responsive which was much appreciated. My son enjoyed fishing off the dock, and my daughter loved the paddle board. If you’re looking for a getaway from the busy city life, this is the place to be.

This place is awesome! Very private, cozy step-up from tent camping. My partner and I definitely appreciated the wood stove during this cooler weekend in October. Super close drive to Grand Marais, Grand Portage, and Judge CR Magney state park. I highly recommend for couples or groups of friends looking for a private and peaceful cabin experience :) The outdoor space is super lovely, great fire pit, and lights in the outhouse were helpful at night. Five stars!

What a wonderful spot to unplug from the world.

Incredibly kind and relaxed hosts, honestly felt like coming to spend the weekend at a family cabin with how kind they were. Very clean, and informative with the current fire bans going on! It made for a very relaxing and fun family graduation trip. 1000% would stay here again, thank you so much!!

In the words of my cabin-particular husband, This Is Right. The Burrow is perfect. It is very apparent that Don and Casey take joy in hosting and have thoughtfully designed their rental. It’s so private and feels remote (the birds you’ll hear!) but it’s just a short drive to great food and even more amazing views. Please check this one out!

Our family of 5 really enjoyed staying at Sarah and Tommy's cabin. The layout was perfect and everything that was needed to cook meals was available. The gas fireplace put out some nice heat and it was very convenient to have the 2-car garage available to keep the car out of the snow. The beds were VERY comfortable, and the jetted tub was welcomed after a day of skiing. Highly recommend!

We had the best time at this lovely camp/cottage. The cabin had everything you need and the hosts went above and beyond with all the little details. The lake was clear and refreshing and the sauna was the perfect way to warm up. This was a nice space for younger children as there was a nice grassy area and the water was easy to walk in. Not to mention the fire pit for making s’mores! It was so peaceful to enjoy the wind in the trees while gazing at the lake. We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to plan our next trip.

Beautiful cabin with so many cool and unique wooden furniture pieces. It was very peaceful and cozy and I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to be close to Tettegouche and Split Rock.

Spacious, comfortable for our group of 5 except for the too short twin beds. Kitchen area perfect.

This cabin stay was exactly what I was seeking in the North Shore. It’s a perfect launching pad for so many hikes and state parks. The back deck with views of the river was a peaceful place to relax and dine. The host was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to unwind and connect with nature.
