Dondon Barge – Cocooning gîte on the Canal du Midi

Unique ! Ancienne péniche hollandaise de 1920 aménagée en gîte cocooning depuis 2022. Sa situation sur le célèbre Canal du Midi, au cœur du Lauragais, entre Toulouse et Carcassonne, en fait un gîte exceptionnel. Atmosphère paisible, environnement unique, pour un séjour atypique sur une péniche chaleureuse pouvant accueillir jusqu’à 7 personnes (animaux non admis) : terrasse sur l’eau, espace repas sur la berge à la nature sauvage et avec des couchers de soleil magnifiques.

The Castrum

The 3-star gîte (CDT 31) is housed in an old 13th century house that overlooks the vast village square and is part of the old medieval castrum (fortified square) whose thickness of certain walls and the embrasures recall the ancient origins of the place. The village is part of the Cocagne region within the "blue gold triangle" connecting Albi, Toulouse and Carcassonne, a region steeped in history related to the culture and flourishing trade of pastel in the 14th century.

Within the eco-friendly "La Colline aux Chevreuils", located on the heights of Volvestre facing the Pyrenees, less than an hour from Toulouse. La Cabane du Chevreuil welcomes you to a 4 ha permaculture site for a comfortable, exotic and informative stay in the heart of nature. Optionally in the evening, a platter of 10 varieties of farm cheeses will be served in the cabin or outside to admire the sunset accompanied by salad and wine as well as gourmet homemade desserts.

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space, where you will stay to the sound of nature. The independent cottage with an area of 46 m² on 2 levels in complete privacy. Air-conditioned, equipped with a bedroom with 1 bed 160 and sofa bed in the living room. Towels and bed linen are provided. This gîte is non-smoking. Equipped kitchen including washing machine and dishwasher. Sunny terrace, this is ideal for breakfast or toasting for the evening aperitif.

Located in the heart of our farm on the hillsides of the Auterivain basin, this mobile home, embellished with a green and flowery area, is suitable for a couple with or without children. It includes the necessary comforts for a pleasant stay. It consists of an equipped kitchen with living room, a bedroom with a 160 x 200 cm bed, a bedroom with two 90 x 190 cm beds, a bathroom and a toilet. It gives access to a small terrace to have your meals outside.
