Alexander's place was exactly as we had expected. My family loves animals and the idea of staying on a sustainable farm was very appealing to us to learn about the farm and also the culture. This community is a place that still uses bartering as a form of exchange and is tucked in an authentic neighborhood that is off the beaten path. We felt so grateful to find this farm and enjoy a true cultural experience in Costa Rica. Don Carlos was an amazing host and he made this experience one that we will never forget. Although we do not speak fluent Spanish, we were able to enjoy the time together very much and would welcome him to our home should he ever visit where we live. In a time of too much technology, this experience showed my children the capabilities of humans doing real work and working to preserve land and communities that are the backbone of our world and every society. We only stayed one night and really enjoyed our stay. The property was spotless and the instructions were very clear. Ana was easy to communicate with and we had everything we needed. It was the first time I had seen so many avocados growing on trees. The setting was peaceful, the air conditioning was nice, and the black out shades were a plus! The best part was the delicious breakfast!! Thank you Ana!!!

Wonderful views, in and outside. Jonathan lives right next door and was very accessible, super helpful and friendly. We were able to watch some great birds in the back of the garden. The place was super clean, kitchen was sufficiently equipped. With a 4x4 you can get up the last short driveway well, without it you should rather park downstairs (space is there). We would have liked to have stayed longer and would definitely come back.

It’s a beautiful cabin with gorgeous view of the valley and ocean. You can find a lot of interesting birds and of course, little dog Gus. P.s. To get to the parking lot, might be possible with a sedan but better with a high clearance vehicle.
