Summer paradise by Göta Kanal

Gammalrud is a farm, which is located in the northern part of the peninsula, which goes into Lake Viken and is called Vika forests. Here we conduct forestry and lamb production since 1976. Surrounded by the beautiful forest, lake Viken (the highest point of Göta Kanal) and the hospitality of Thord and Ulla, this is your idyllic home away from home. We have renovated the old farm dairy, "Mejeriet", and made it into a nice home that we rent out to guests. The ground floor consists of a hallway, a kitchen suited for 8 persons and a large living room with a cozy fireplace. The living room floor is made of hand-made bricks from the old brickworks in the nearby village Horn. The upper floor consists of one large room with wooden floor and alcoves for 6 persons. At the old canal landing, we have built a large boathouse. Here is a place, not just for boats, but also for gatherings and parties. If you´d like to go fishing you are more than welcome to rent our small boat to try your luck catching pike, perch or any of the other fish in lake Viken. There is also a sauna in the Boathouse. Gammalrud is a farm dating back to the Middle Ages. A full list of previous owners dates back to 1498. In the 1600s, Gammalrud became a manor when the first corp de logi was built by Thord Jönsson Reuterberg. In the 1800s, Gammalrud became part of the Swedish industrial history by one of the owners, Theodor Winborg, also known as “Ättikskungen” , the founder of Winborg´s vinegar and later by his brother in law, Helge Palmqrantz, an inventor and industrialist with machine factories in Stockholm. Both agricultural tools and weapons were made there. A machine gun, designed by Helge Palmqrantz to be part of the defense on Karlsborgs fortress, can be seen at the fortress museum.

Holidays by the lake Unden

In the middle of West Götalands unspoilt nature with its lakes and forests, near the big lake Vättern, about 5 kilometers from the village of Undenäs and far away from any through traffic, the small country village of Igelstad is located, directly on the lake Unden. The village is a small collection of scattered houses and farms, of which some are permanently inhabited, while others are used as summer cottages. Here, in a large clearing in the forest, the small farm "Nolgården" is situated. The house is a separate, well-equipped classic wooden log house, built in spruce. It was thourougly renovated in 2008. There is a private bathroom, kitchen and private terrace, Internet connection (WLAN) and satellite TV (Astra). A cozy fireplace and electric heating provide comfortable warmth. Directly from the house you can make nice walks in the unspoilt nature, pick berries and mushrooms, or walk to lake Unden, one of the clearest and most pristine lakes in Sweden. From the house to the west side of the peninsula, there is only 800 meters. Here you can have a swim or enjoy the sunset over Unden. The eastern shore can be reached in quarter of an hour via a forest path. By the shore a canoe lies ready for extensive reconnaissance trips to the beautiful deserted islands and quiet bays. But the area has much more to offer: the romantic Tiveden National Park, Lake Viken, Forsvik and the Göta canal with its locks, and the huge lake Vättern are just a few examples of interesting destinations.

Lovely house on beautiful private lakeside estate

Fantastic modern light and airy house for up to 9 on idyllic historic estate "Alvasjön" in the middle of the forest next to Sweden's largest private lake. Surrounded by one of Sweden's most beautiful nature reserves and best sport fishing areas. Fantastic swimming, walking, cycling, canoeing and blueberry picking and mushrooming in a serene and beautiful environment. Use (at own risk) of boats, canoes and mountain bikes. Get the kids away from their phones and tablets and out on adventures!

Lugnt och rofyllt, med naturen inpå knuten och utsikt över Vättern. Huset på 95 m2, är mycket välutrustat och fräscht. Egen inhägnad trädgård med trädgårdsmöbler och grill, samt trädgårdsspel. Vackra promenadvägar, 3 km till närmaste samhälle med trevliga butiker, livsmedelsaffär och vårdcentral. Möjligheter till bärplockning i juli, augusti. Älg och rådjur kan ses från huset då och då. Huset ligger i anslutning till en keramikverkstad . Möjlighet finns att ladda sin elbil mot liten avgift

Charmig stuga på landet nära Hökensås

Ta en paus och varva ner i denna fridfulla oas. Omgivningen bjuder in till vila och återhämtning. Vill man hitta på något finns det mycket att utforska. Hökensås är inte långt bort med möjlighet för både cykeltur, vandring, jakt och fiske. Den fina staden Hjo med sjön Vättern finns ca 3 mil bort. Stugan är byggt 2021, fullt utrustad och bäst lämpad för 2 personer. Men det går fint att bo fler än så. Stugan är lämplig för personer med funktionsnedsättning. Värden bor i huset intill.

Enkelt boende med tillgång till bad i strömmande å

Ett enkelt boende för 1-2 personer vid ån Tidan. Här har du ett eget litet hus med säng, TV och garderob. På gården finns parkering, frukostveranda, som delas med värdinnan, och möjlighet att ta ett dopp i den strömmande ån. Tidigare gäster har skämtsamt kallat platsen "Baltak badhotell". I huvudhuset finns dusch och toalett med egen ingång. Baltak ligger 5 min från den gamla bruksorten Tidaholm och 10 min till Hökensås med fiske, MTB- och vandringsområden. Wifi o. sänglinne ingår.

Historic house from late 1800's. Original details with a modern brand new kitchen. Fully furnished in an eclectic 80's style. White washed floor planks throughout the whole house. New bathroom with a 5 person Sauna. Walking distance to town. Grocery, pharmacy, liquor store, pub and restaurants within 10 min walk. 500 m to the lake for a morning dip. Välkommen till vårt gästhus på vår gård som ligger mitt på Vadstenaslätten invid Vättern. Här är nära till Vadstena med medeltida miljöer, slott, kloster, mysiga små butiker och restauranger. Söder om oss ligger Omberg som också är en av Östergötlands mest besökta utflyktsmål. Fågelsjön Tåkern ligger öster om gården. Här finns mycket att se och uppleva.
