This house of commerce (shower office/earlier BORDER/ TAX CONTROL Office ) is one of the oldest houses at the mouth of the North Sea Canal. The house dates back to 1875 and is therefore the basis of the later IJmuiden. With the largest sea lock in the world within walking distance and beach and fishing port within a radius of 1 km, this place is an ideal starting point for day trips. Haarlem (15 min.) and Amsterdam (30min) are also easily accessible. Public transport bus and train - are available as well as free parking.

When you know what to expect (area, facilities, weather) it couldn’t be better ☺️ We felt very comfortable in any weather with our 2 little children (20months old and 3 months old) a little bit of physical flexibility is required as the place is only accessible through the sand and to get into bed you have to either climb up or bend down 😉

Glenn's place is really nice and modernly furnished – you immediately feel comfortable. Everything you need for a relaxing weekend is available, and a supermarket within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed the morning sun on the terrace and in the evening the sauna – the perfect end to the day. Bikes were also available, which is absolutely worthwhile for a ride right on the sea coast. Communication went smoothly, and we always got a quick response to our questions. The apartment was perfect for our weekend with the three of us – we will be happy to come back anytime. Thank you! ☺️☀️

I spent seven days with my two kids at this beach house, and we absolutely loved it. It’s like glamorous camping, offering a unique and cozy experience rather than the luxury of a five-star hotel. The true luxury lies in the coziness and the breathtaking view. We arrived by bus from Amsterdam, which runs every half hour. The house is small but well-equipped with everything you need. While the toilets are nearby and not within the house, it wasn’t a major inconvenience. Overall, our stay was phenomenal, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Plus, there were hardly any mosquitoes 😅.

Michelle is a very good host (cold white wine to welcome you!) and she gives a lot of information about activities and restaurants in the vicinity. The beach house is very tastefully decorated, all kitchen utensils are available for self-catering. The view of the sea alone is magnificent. Unfortunately we had very bad weather so the way to the toilet was only possible with a rain jacket. Too bad, a few degrees warmer and it would have felt like summer;-) Well, that's how it is, the North Sea. Thanks again:-)

We had a great stay at Marianne's house! The living area is beautifully large and looks even more inviting in reality than in the photos. There was more than enough space for the four of us, so we could all feel comfortable. The house has a beautiful garden to offer, where you can sit in peace. Particularly practical: shopping facilities are within easy walking distance, and there is free parking directly on the street. The connection by bus and train is also great - perfect for excursions without a car. Marianne was always quick to reach with questions :)
