We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Philia. A lovely peaceful private house in the heart of the beautiful village of Gavalohori. Wonderful facilities, nice shady decks with great views of the White Mountains. The pool is amazing - you share it with the downstairs apartment, but it is super private. The local tavernas are amazing, and a nice little bakery and a couple of small convenience stores. Walking around Gavalohori is just beautiful. Angelos met us on arrival, shared his mother's home made spinach pies and of course, raki. The house was wonderfully ventilated with insect screens on all the windows - we didn't need to use the AC at all. If you are looking to escape the touristy towns, a stay at at Villa Philia in beautiful Gavalohori is a must.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the property for 5 days and were very please with our stay. The apartment is on the first floor of a beautiful modern house. The apartment was very well equipped, there was nothing missing. Highlighted is the beautiful terrace with Jacuzzi. The location is great. It is about a 15-minute drive to the center of Chania. Several beaches are within walking distance. The house itself is quietly located. It offers a good starting point for exploring Crete. Katerina and her husband are great hosts. Upon arrival, a fresh Greek salad, oranges and wine awaited us. We got fresh vegetables from the garden a few days later. Katerina was always available and very friendly. We felt very comfortable. Overall we would recommend the accommodation! 5/5 stars!

Cannot overstate what a great experience this was, thanks to the atmosphere of the place and to Giannis's kind and attentive hosting. Beautiful accommodation on 3 floors, with indoor and outdoor spaces. We were in the heart of the lively Old Town, yet felt private and quiet at night. Ideal base from which to explore western Crete.

Eleftherios is a very likeable, helpful and great host! The small house is usually well shaded in the middle of an olive grove. You can pick mulberries from the terrace, a little further there are fresh oranges and lemons. The accommodation is not only beautiful, but also very well thought out. In addition to the good insulation, in which a short use of the air conditioning also cools, the fly screen in front of the large bedroom window, the Bluetooth box, the large terrace with a beautiful view of the olive grove, it is the small, well-considered things that simply give pleasure. Starting with sharp, small knives, mosquito repellent, coffee, detergent, good shower gel, orange press, good cooking utensils... We will be back, no question!

The house was lovely and very convenient to get to from the airport. The surroundings were idyllic and we had a very peaceful stay here. Kostula was a brilliant host, always very responsive when we had any questions. We were supplied with basic amenities for cooking which is always a bonus as we didn't need to go straight to the shops for oil, salt, coffee, etc. There was also a homemade cake waiting for us on arrival and we were given some fresh eggs from their hens when we met Kostula and her husband! All in all it was a brilliant stay with wonderful hosts and we would love to visit again!

Adorable little house where we felt good from the moment we arrived. Very nice garden with deckchairs, tables, barbecue and the best of the best, an outdoor shower, a marvel. We hear the cicadas, the birds, and the bells of the sheep. Ideal location, close to Visses and not far from the sea. We can't wait to go back. Address to recommend as well as the welcome of Vassilis who treated us to his little interventions and always responded to all our requests. Bravo and thank you again.

The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. The place was super clean and everything well maintained. Just felt right at home with an amazing view, great beds and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This place was super cute and very convenient in a area in town that is close to everything but not loud at night and less touristy. I would definitely recommend it and he was very responsive as a host. Every time I call he was there right away and answered right away. The place is also very attractive.

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. Anyone who has gone on family holidays with their parents in the 90s and the next, and remembers them with nostalgia, stay here... It brought back memories of my childhood holidays. Very beautiful and simple space, with the hammocks in each apartment, the sun in the morning as it hit the grass, the smell of the morning watering, the seagulls that can be heard from afar and the whole setup made me think about it for every summer season, even a 3-day stay with my family... The apartment has the basics, and anything one thinks they will need extra, I think the host, who is excellent in terms of communication, will provide it! Thanks so much!

We had an amazing stay at Villa Manos 1 in the end of april 2025. We only found out a couple of days before going, that the pool season at the house normally starts in May (this was our own fault). The owner Manos was very kind to start the pool early for us. When we arrived he was there to greet us at the house, and incredibly kind and helpful. A couple of days after our arrival, new madresses for the beds arrived, and these were very good. Manos was very helpful with advice for the area, and on easter his mother Katerina had bought easter eggs for our children. Manos is a very kind person, and when turned out our 4 year old son had the chicken pox, he made us feel safe both with regards to maybe staying in the house, and getting medical help. All in all we felt very much at home and in very good hands, and we enjoyed the stay so much that we would consider going back.

This is a 10/10 Villa. We have travelled a lot and this is by far the best Villa we have stayed in. We were a family of 9 (5 adults and 4 children aged 2, 4, 9 and 11). The views are stunning, the pool is big, all the rooms have private bathroom. Jacuzzi is also perfect for when the sun goes down! Theo was a wonderful host helping us, giving good recommendations and suprising as with some nice gestures. This Villa really is a Gem as the name suggests. As for the surroundings - it is 100% private! For me the best part was that there is a nice local village to walk to every night. There are some amazing Tavernas/Restaurants with delicious food and reasonable prices (also a mini-market). There is also a nice beach with a good restaurant and a nice cozy beach bar - it is only a 10 minute walk from the villa. And if you rent a car then it is a 10 minute ride to the Rethymnon old town, which is also a very nice place with lots of shops and restaurants. The Villa was worth every euro!

We had a wonderful stay at Aggeliki’s place! The house was perfect — the bedroom was very spacious and filled with light, and the kitchen was clean and well-equipped. Aggeliki was an amazing host; there’s already a lot of helpful information in the Airbnb listing, and she was always quick to respond to our messages. The location was fantastic: a quiet, charming village with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Everything was within a reasonable driving distance, making it a great starting point to explore the island. There’s a small market nearby, a lovely café with a cute garden, and even a walking trail around the village with some interesting insights into its history. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this place!

We spent 14 wonderful days in Marilena's residence. From the first moment we felt very welcome. Marilena is not only extremely hospitable and friendly, but also very sweet and nice to children. The place was sparkling clean and well cared for. The private swimming pool was an absolute highlight: every morning it was carefully cleaned by Marilena herself. What we also really appreciated was that they came to clean the house in the meantime – of course in consultation. Really top service! You can tell from everything that Marilena does this with love and has an eye for her guests. In short: a fantastic place to stay with a hostess who really makes a difference. We will definitely come back here!

The Villa is stunning, amazing views and a great pool. Diana met us upon arrival, and was very helpful and friendly. Amenities in the Villa were great, especially the kitchen. We were a family of 5 and hired a car for our weeks stay. Chania is beautiful with lots of restaurants and bars. Beaches were lovely, quite busy but worth the trip. Would highly recommend.

Great accommodation with everything you need for a peaceful, isolated stay - yet in walking distance to the beautiful downtown. The house is surrounded by nature, with views to the mountain and a nice garden very well prepared to spend your evenings. The hosts are very welcoming, we felt like at home and are grateful for everything they provided for us. Very recommended, we hope to come back!

We spent the most lovely time at Nikos place with our baby and friends. The villa is located directly by the sea with a spectacular view. We enjoyed really enjoyed our breakfasts watching the waves and listening to the ocean so much. The place is very quiet and private. Nikos is the most welcoming host and gave us great directions for the island. We can definitely recommend staying there! Thank you so much for having us.

Stella was the perfect host. She was so kind and thought of everything you might need. Make sure to follow her recommendations for restaurants as they were amazing. What a lovely setting. Fruit trees surround this beautiful and comfortable home with incredible views. As other people have said we very much enjoyed the friendly cat and George’s father Steve.

Being a host myself, I am super attune to the details. This space is perfectly situated right on the water's edge with gorgeous Juliette balconies and large French doors that let the ocean breeze in. The driver let us off near the main square and we walked along the water with baggage in tow. Directions were spot on...great way to 'make an entrance' into this amazing gem of a spot. The space was perfect and had everything we needed to decompress and relax. The town has everything you need from restaurants to historical ruins to little shops. 4 days was not near enough to explore all the little streets. The cohost, Silver, was beyond amazing and accommodating. We didn't pre-plan any excursions until we arrived. When we decided on an itinerary she was on it with recommendations AND connections to make it all happen. We were treated like family. What else could you ask for?! 5-stars plus plus. Hope to return!
