"Hunsrück Valley View" Holiday Home with SAUNA

A two-bedroom stylish and comfortable holiday apartment for up to four, with a terrace and picture-perfect view of the valley and mountains below. A cedar barrel sauna is available (at extra cost). The entire apartment was renovated in March 2024, including a new sauna oven (it gets really, really hot now), acoustic paneling, new kitchen with Bosch appliances (oven, dishwasher), rain-water shower, a washing machine with dryer, and new beds. You can also visit our herd of Scottish Highlanders!

In the middle of nature in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley lies the idyllic village of Sauerthal. Here you can enjoy the tranquility and the forest in our small, simple apartment, sit in the garden or in front of the house, hike, recharge your batteries and come to yourself. Just outside the door is the European long-distance hiking trail E3 from the Black Sea to Santiago de Compostela. Behind the mountain is the town of Kaub with its Rhine romance, 6 km from us.

This sunlit former mine nestles against the rock like a swallow’s nest, directly below Burg Gutenfels and along the Rheinsteig trail - far from train and traffic noise. Enjoy the shaded terrace beneath the vine arbor and the herb garden. From your secluded sun meadow, you overlook the Rhine, passing ships, and the historic Pfalzgrafenstein castle.

You can see Stahleck Castle and Lorch Castle and turn into the premium Rheinburgenweg hiking trail right outside the front door for fantastic hikes.

The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a historic merchant house with 4 other apartments. The train station is a few minutes' walk away.

Our apartment on the ground floor, bright and friendly, is located in the winegrowing community of Bornich, in the "World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley", directly on the Rheinsteig. The Loreley can be reached on foot in 40 minutes. You will find us in a traffic-calmed cul-de-sac. Parking directly at the house. Check-in via key safe possible. In 500m you are in the great outdoors.
