Kyoto Seifu-an is a 4-minute walk from Higashiyama Station on the Tozai Subway Line, where you can walk to nearby temples, walk to Heian Shrine, Yasaka Shrine, Kiyomizu Temple, and Gion. It is an entire private space, but in case of an emergency, you can contact the staff 24 hours a day by mobile phone and email, so you can stay with peace of mind. Tabitabi Kanoe Hara is a fully renovated, over 100-year-old Kyomachi house located right next to Rokubasan Hachimangu Shrine, and is limited to one group per day. The worktop in the living room on the ground floor is surrounded by tiles that symbolize this facility. Why not watch the four seasons pass by in the garden, along with the gentle light that shines in through the skylight of the slightly elevated Japanese-style room. Reikaku Yasaka was a building in ruins with the floor tilted by at least 30cm when we discovered this hidden jewel. The restoration was particularly difficult due to the state it was in but our craftsman’s determination to bring this Machiya back to its formal glory paid off for Reikaku Yasaka. Tsubara was 100y old Machiya, we lovely restored all possible to original style using antique fittings & materials by traditional craftsmanship. We love Tsubara, we hope the guests too!
