This place is our new spiritual home, we absolutely loved it! The house is a 20 year project - beautifully crafted by the Kind-hearted artist Kazuki-San. We stayed in the knights room, perfectly equipped to cook and relax, with a magical view and wide balcony. There is a mezzanine, where you sleep, which is so comforting and fun to rest on. From the house, you can do some stunning hikes in the Hira mountain range, challenging but great for adventures. A train ride away is another fun hike to Yobai falls. There is also a local ceramics studio and Oberton, with great coffee. The most special thing though was Kazuki-San, who took the time to guide us to some local rural spots, we went to a sake factory, ate sakura mochi on the Otsu bridge, saw the oldest trade route in Japan and an exhibition studio with other local artists after which we enjoyed a lovely portion of Soba Noodles together. There is a special place in our hearts for this experience, we can’t wait to return and be reunited.

Honestly one of the best stays I’ve ever had if not the best. I was shocked at how friendly the host was and they never hesitated to ask what I was doing for the day and also gave recommendations depending on where I’d be going. They even went out of their way to offer reserving a restaurant for me. I can’t forget to also mention that they allow you to leave your bags with them before and AFTER your stay, which made my trip a lot more convenient. Would without a doubt stay with them again in a heartbeat.

This property operates like a hotel with a front desk, so you can expect hotel-level cleanliness and service—just without on-site restaurants. The room was squeaky clean, and housekeeping came every 2–3 days to refresh bed sheets and towels, which was appreciated. The location is a bit of a walk from Kyoto Station. You can use an underground passage partway, but note there’s no elevator at the exit, so it’s tricky if you have heavy luggage. A nice touch was the free umbrellas and instant coffee and green tea packs available at the front desk — both were surprisingly good. Overall, a comfortable stay with reliable housekeeping. We would definitely stay here again.

Very good accommodation

Close to the Gion district, the accommodation matched the description perfectly, if not better. Also perfect for short or longer stays.

I highly recommend this stay, besides being full of art and being very nice, the hosts are very friendly, they made me recommendations from the neighborhood, which made my experience in Kyoto very different and much more intimate, the facilities are very good and at all times there is good communication. Thank you ! I will definitely be back 🙏🏽

It was so nice. I'd like to visit again if I get the chance. However, it is a little distance from the station. There are not many places to eat in the city after 6 o'clock. There was a rotating sushi restaurant near Mipul that was open until late and was delicious.

We really enjoyed our time at this stay. The balcony is private and the rooftop is shared. There is also a courtyard area on the first floor. There were also added amenities like free coffee, tea, and some fruit on the first floor.

I used it for the first time this time.I had no experience with private lodging or Airbnb reservations, but I was able to arrive and enter the room smoothly and with peace of mind with prompt and polite support both at the time of booking and before the stay. The bus stop (No. 16) to Kyoto Station is very close, and it is convenient and you can walk from Kyoto Station.The hotel is located in a residential area, and the main street side has double windows, making the interior a quiet environment. I felt the owner's thoughtfulness in the cleanliness of the room, the collection of garbage, the salon and coffee in the lobby on the first floor, and the washing machine and bench on the rooftop. If I had the opportunity, I would like to stay at this inn again.We would like to express our gratitude to the owner.Thank you very much.

Absolutely stunning experience, with Hash always being around and available, the building itself is a incredible merge between a historic hotel and our very own Airbnb! Spent great time with friends at the place and would highly recommend to all bigger groups that would like to stay in a quieter corner of Kyoto.

Very convenient location, there is a bus stop about 1-2 minute walk which you can take to go to kyoto station. Very clean. Great view on the public area of rooftop.

We had an awesome stay at Lan's place. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated having access to bicycles and would highly recommend a bike ride in the area. Our room had a private washer/dryer but we also made use of the rooftop appliences and drying rack. The beds were super comfortable and it's a very quiet area to catch up on sleep after a lot of walking. We would absolutely stay here again.
