10/10 – Absolutely Exceptional Stay! This was hands down one of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve ever had. The home is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s also a fantastic place for families with children—safe, spacious, and welcoming. The complimentary bicycles were a thoughtful and fun bonus that made exploring the area even more enjoyable. Shinsuke was an outstanding host—warm, responsive, and always happy to assist with any questions. If you're considering staying here, don’t hesitate—do yourself a favour and book it. Big family, initially was worried about space and if everyone would be comfortable. the place turned out perfect, made break fast at home easily for the kids and elderly folks with the fresh produce bought nearby! superb experience!

Shiho was a great host! She was very proactive in her communication. We were able to find the place, check-in, and check out without any problems. Their home was very clean. We even got to enjoy a view of the fireworks from the 3rd floor on Saturday! We would definitely stay here again if returning to Otsu. Like others mentioned, you can hear the street noise--a bit more from the front bedroom than the living area or back bedroom, but it did not bother us at all as we are used to living in a city. It was convenient to walk to the mall and grocery store though we had a car. The binder with tourist information was very helpful. We are very happy with our stay. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, or have trouble with stairs, you may want to look for different accomodations.

Beautiful home next to Lake Biwa. Its a refreshing break from the city and the neighbors are all very nice. The house was very clean and spacious, the host was always responsive and helpful, even gave me a ride when I left back to the train station so I didn't have to walk with all my luggage. Only downside would be the steep stairs, so if you have balance issues maybe sleep in the room downstairs. Overall very nice place and my 2 weeks went by too quickly here. Will definitely rebook next time I'm in Kyoto/Osaka area.
