Cabin holiday rentals in Mad River

The HideBehind was the perfect weekend getaway! We wanted something peaceful and private close to other parts of Vermont we wanted to visit. Everything about the cabin was perfect, it was clean, had helpful instructions and recommendations, and Scott and his wife were very friendly and welcoming. The hot tub and electric fire were easy to use and made our stay 100% more enjoyable. This is a place I would definitely recommend, and I myself would come back again!

We had a wonderful vacation. The cabin is a true gem in the North East Kingdom. Upon entering the house, fresh flowers decorated the rooms and we found a basket of snacks for us and our dog. Leslie and Matt’s passion for decorating made the house cozy and inviting. The grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed walking through the garden, relaxing on the deck, and walking to the river. The food shopping service Leslie and Matt offer is an added bonus. The cabin is also in a perfect location. There are many great hikes and restaurants close by. The North East Kingdom truly delivered with its scenic woods, spectacular summit views, and gorgeous waterfalls. Plus every meal was amazing. Thank you for your hospitality and making our vacation this year a memorable one! You both were responsive, friendly, and such a help before and during our stay. This vacation was exactly what we hoped for: a relaxing retreat among the trees. I wish we lived closer because I’d be back every year.

Not sure if it was the mattress, the sheets and quilt, the pillows, the Vermont woods, Vermont fresh air, or the rain hitting the roof… maybe all of it… but, my husband and I have not slept so well in… maybe EVER! Rob’s home is super comfy and dog friendly. The hot tub is a nice feature and works wonderfully. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful location for your visit, this hits all the marks. Sitting outside with your morning coffee is a treat. If weather doesn’t cooperate, recommend sitting in the den in front of the picture window. Our old dog truly appreciated exploring the fenced yard, and we loved allowing him off off-leash. Great place to stay!

Our stay at Tim and Renee’s was perfect. Gorgeous tiny house, super comfy, the hot tub was amazing. The spot the Airbnb is on is very private and peaceful. South Royalton is a cute little town with a nice food coop and coffee shop. Tim and Renee were super responsive the couple of times we had questions. Would absolutely come back.

Stunning natural surroundings, the cabin is nestled in valley by a brook, among the mountains, near trails, farms, and skiing. Lisa had some really nice touches and the house is well maintained, clean, and fun.

We had a lovely and relaxing stay. The cabin and surrounding property are beautiful, and Evangelyn was a wonderful host. If you’re looking for a peaceful, “home away from home” getaway, this is just the place.

We loved Rebecca and Josh's place! The outdoor surroundings were serene and we loved how the place felt tucked away. We were weren't there long enough to explore any trails but we want to come back! There were many thoughtful touches to the place, and fire starters/fire wood provided for us. The hot tub was very relaxing! The inside of the house was decorated very artsy and tastefully! Definitely would recommend :)

Excellent value, private, relaxing, tons of wildlife

The Minouche was exactly how it was described and even better in person. Marilyn was a thoughtful and helpful host, providing excellent suggestions for the area. We really enjoyed the space and the beautiful views from any angle on the property. We highly recommend this stay to anyone!

We absolutely adored our stay at the cabin. It is idyllic inside and out! It was amazing to come home to after a day of exploring. The bed was super comfortable and the highlight for us was watching VHS on the TV with snacks. It is so well equipped and cosy, also enjoyed a lovely bath in the claw foot tub. Just perfect for a rustic, cosy stay in nature. A highlight for me was stepping outside at night and listening to (I assume they were) frogs!! They were so loud and it was incredible to hear them, the trees were also surrounded by fireflies (I’d never seen them before!) and I’ll always remember that perfect moment of peace. Thank you for making our 10 year anniversary so memorable with such a lovely place to stay, if you’re thinking of it for a special occasion or just as a base to explore this adorable region of Vermont, look no further :) thank you!

We had a lovely stay in the cabin and had the whole camp to ourselves. It was really easy for us to head out each day with our dog and enjoy the lake & woods. At night we grilled and enjoyed the wondering gas fire.

I was so happy staying at Brooke's cabin. There was so much to be happy with, I'll do my best to list them all! 1. Brooke was well responsive - I ran into 2 small problems and she was proactive and fixed them fast. 2. The whole place is super dog friendly! I am often worried where my dog is and isn't allowed in Airbnbs, not here! Brooke even left out dog toys, bowls,and beds as well! 3. All linens were cleaned, even the throw blankets! 4. the trail in the backyard is a nice touch! unfortunately I didn't have many non rainy days so only got to explore some of it, but it is a different world back there! 5. The kitchen is incredible: 3 different ways to make coffee along with a frother and a grinder! the pots and pans are chef's choice! and the knives aren't dull! I was well equipped to cook and theres plenty of space to do so. 6. the bathtub is a godsend! 7. incredible library! I cannot recommend this place enough!

Great little cabin for a weekend stay for my wife and I and our dog. Easy access to town for necessities and close to several local breweries. Would definitely stay here again.

Exactly as advertised - beautiful, very private, clean; a perfect place for a solo/couple getaway. Seamless communication and logistics with the friendly hosts, who clearly maintain the cabin with care. Book it!

Claudia's place was EXACTLY what we were looking for on our VT getaway. Close to Stowe and Morristown, yet outside the madness of being in town. Claudia was the perfect host......accommodative, Fast response to messages, friendly and helpful. Despite other cabins on the property, this place was very private. Mr Charlie loved the fenced in yard to run loose in and the deck was perfect for sitting and relaxing. Would definitely consider this space again on our next trip to VT.

This cabin was such a dream. Tucked away in the woods, it gave us the perfect mix of peace, nature, and comfort. Everything was clean and so well equipped. it had everything we needed and more, which made our stay super easy and relaxing. My boyfriend and I really appreciated the quiet, peaceful, cozy vibe. We felt completely at home and could just unplug and enjoy the moment we spent our time playing board games, sipping coffee in the garden or making dinner together in the cute little kitchen. Emily was an absolute pleasure: very kind and thoughtful, and great to talk to. You can tell she really cares about the space and the people who stay in it. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already dreaming of coming back.

Beautiful log cabin construction with absolutely stunning dining table and well appointed furniture throughout the spaces. It had all the amenities one would expect to find in a fully functional kitchen with a few added extras like a French press coffee maker and coffee grinder. Tasty filtered water available from the refrigerator is always a plus. We picked the right weekend with fall colors on full display with a beautiful view over looking the valley with Highway 100. There was even a fully functioning farm stand at the entrance to the drive up the hill to the cabin. No TV's in the downstairs living space was just right for a family vacation. TV was upstairs near the bedrooms, if you can't do without it. An added bonus included a basement space with air hockey table and a rowing machine. We would definitely stay here again if we were vacationing in this area.

My stay was wonderful. The surrounding area was incredibly beautiful. It was a peaceful place to get away from day-to-day life.

The cabin was just what we needed. It was close to skiing and loved the bunk beds for my two kids. The bathroom was a little small but worked great for the few days we were there. It was clean and had everything we needed. We would love to check this place out when we can use the lake. :)

Holy Smokes! So so peaceful and beautiful! My favorite was falling asleep (in the extremely comfortable bed) to frog sounds. Plenty of books and wonderful nearby hikes. We bought some maple syrup flower sprinkles from the farm stand on the property for gifts. The nearby town is lovely with a great family oriented bar called Babes. Would definately stay again!

The stay was fantastic. The cabin is located in a perfect area surrounded by the woods, beautiful trails, a sauna and just so much greenery we couldn't believe it. The cabin itself was incredibly well put together, had everything you'd need and then some. Jess was very accommodating and answered every question we had. 100% recommend!

Very lovely home. The layout was conducive to engaging with each other. The home as nice or nicer than the photos . I would definitely go back.

Catherine’s place was a dream. It’s right on the lake, so you have beautiful views and privacy. Catherine is very friendly and helpful and truly one of the best Airbnb hosts! We were undecided if we wanted to stay by the lake or in Burlington, and I am so glad we chose this Airbnb. We were close enough to town, but loved to get away to nature. She has extra amenities like a sauna, bikes, and kayaks. We brought our dog, and he loved having room to play ball and it was very pet friendly. I only wish we stayed longer, and I think it would have been great to be there in warmer weather. However, having my normal tea in the living area and watching the lake from inside was still lovely!
