I stayed in a stunning home with a breathtaking mountain view and beautifully designed interiors.

Our stay in Marayur was absolute bliss — a truly grounding experience. At first, my wife was a little skeptical about potential bug bites, given the open-to-nature setting. But the mudhouse was thoughtfully built — sustainable yet surprisingly comfortable — offering the perfect blend of nature and ease. The caretakers, Latha Chechy and Sony Chettan, were incredibly helpful and always just a call away for anything we needed. Host Deepu was warm, welcoming, and highly attentive to our needs. Though it was meant to be just a mid-stop on our road trip, we genuinely felt like staying a bit longer. Despite having no air conditioning, the mudhouse cooled down beautifully in the evenings, and not once did we feel hot or humid — a delightful surprise! The food was another highlight: a great variety with authentic flavors that truly satisfied. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

The place was good and serene. The garden area was the highlight of the stay. Parking was good. Note: only BSNL network is available in the area; if you need food at the stay, inform the host well advanced.

We spent 4 magical nights in Mommy's cottage at The Mud House in June, and it exceeded all expectations. This enchanting place has breathtaking views from all sides and even has its own short trail to a mountain top. The authentic Keralaite food was absolutely mind-blowing - every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was a masterpiece. Huge kudos to the chef! The ladies managing the property are incredibly hospitable, always smiling and genuinely caring. Even their gardener (thatha) was wonderful with our toddler, letting him help water the plants. Mommy's cottage felt like a fairy tale with its traditional mud construction keeping us cool and connected to nature. We loved taking small hikes around the property with our toddler, sitting on the verandah of Mommy’s cottage admiring the stunning views and landscape, and peaceful walks by the canal. The entire experience was soul-nourishing - perfect for disconnecting from modern chaos.
