Soludden Eckerö – Sauna with a sunset by the sea

Cozy little cottage with open floor plan, mini kitchen, gas stove, microwave and refrigerator. Two bar stools with the possibility to eat breakfast inside. A small sleeping alcove with a double bed and a separate sauna. There are two terraces, the one in the west has a dining table for 6 people with an incredible view of the open sea and the horizon. There is also an outdoor sink on the east side terrace as well as a gas grill. A dry toilet directly outside the sauna as well as a separate newly-built shower and laundry room as well as a frozen toilet a short distance away.

Beach with kayak

Stay close to the sea in a small and simple accommodation with its own sauna and beach. There is a kitchenette, outdoor toilet behind the outhouse, a bathroom with sink and shower. The bedroom has a bunk bed, sofa bed for two is in the room. Kayak is available as well as outdoor furniture and charcoal grill. (Coal and lighter fluid are not included) Electricity and municipal water. The sauna is wood-fired. The accommodation is located next to the hiking trail around Kungsö battery with the nice observation tower and cozy picnic spots. Mariehamn is close, about 10 km.

Nice guest house with lovely porch

Take a break and unwind in our guest house located in Kungsö, about 10 km outside Mariehamn. The guest house contains a built-in bunk bed with 2 comfortable beds, a small kitchenette with a stove and a small refrigerator. Seating for 2 people. Shower is on the balcony outside the guest house but also inside the guest house as well as an outdoor toilet around the corner. The guest house is connected to the residential house and shares the balcony. Here we live, 2 adults, a curious little boy and two small dogs that run loose on the property.

Welcome to our cozy cottage. A place to relax in a quiet and scenic environment without being overlooked. The cottage has three bedrooms and a living room/kitchen, perfect for families or friends who want to spend quality time together. The plot is large with lawn and several patios perfect for dining or relaxation. On the beach, there is a wood-fired sauna and a private dock. Two-person kayak and SUP board are available to borrow for those who want to explore the lake from the water. The cottage is about 30 minutes from Mariehamn.

Enjoy a modern vacation home in a peaceful natural environment by the water, a well-equipped kitchen, shower and toilet. Balcony and windows facing the water. A wood-fired sauna and jetty are located by the water. Possibility to dock by boat. 6 km to Mariehamn. A neighbor is next door. Good to know: There are basic items in the fridge such as ketchup, mustard and soy that you are welcome to use. NOTE: Bed linens and towels are not included. . Västra Ytternäs is a quiet and close to nature area in southern Mariehamn. The city center is accessed via walking and cycling track about 2.5 km away or by bus from the stop 240 meters from the residence. The closest beach, Algrundet, is about 1.8 kilometers away. In the nearby area, there is a marina, grocery store about 1.4 km, kayak rental, playground, fish shop and nice walking paths. Knorring's restaurant is about 2.7 kilometers away.

Boathouse cottage including kayaks, boat and bikes

The cottage is located on/right by the sea, still only 6km from the city center. On the 2nd floor you find the bedroom, kitchen/living room and a big balcony. On the 1st floor we have a bathroom, shower and a comfortable sauna with an extraordinary sea view. During the winter the cottage is closed when it’s very cold. Please note that from Oktober to March the rowing boat and kayaks we will not be available for you to use.

Åland, Sund charming house near Kastelholm/Bomarsund

The cottage (Fridhem), which was originally a bakery, was moved from a small village to its current location in the 1950s, when it was also rebuilt into the current house. The cottage is located on highway 2, in between Kastelholm and Bomarsund, about 5 km in each direction. Bus stop is close, 25 km to Mariehamn. There are bike paths nearby, beautiful forest roads as well. See my guide for tips.
