Cottage holiday rentals in Mells

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. The place is exactly as described, a very cosy little cottage with everything you need. Everywhere was clean and tidy apart from general dust you’d expected, with a lovely little basket of treats left for us on arrival. Check in was self done, flexible, and smooth, same with leaving. Lovely little village, a couple of local pubs within walking distance, lovely cafe just next door along with some very friendly ducks, chickens, lambs, goats and the occasional cat. Would absolutely stay here again and 100% recommend if you’re looking for a cosy and quiet get away. During our stay we explored Cheddar, Glastonbury and Frome, all within an hours drive and lots of lovely cafes and independent shops.

We enjoyed our Short (2-Night) stay a lot. Poppy responded Short Term on Any queries we had. Hot tub outside and stove in the living&dining room were exceptional Features you rarely find at places in this Price categorie. Water quality and temperature in the Hot tub were Perfect. Like other guests commented prior, the Noise of the Main Road isnt really a downside, at least not later in the evening. Though it is noisy inside if you Open any window to the road side and entering and exiting the parking area at the House from the Main Road needs some willpower at the beginning. Amy's cottage is an amazing find if you're looking for a Somerset getaway. The place itself is beautiful and perfectly kitted out - especially if you have kids, with crockery, cutlery, a high chair and not to mention the wonderful assortment of games. The hot tub outside under the stars is an added bonus and one you should take up as it was a great way to wind down in the evenings. And Amy was the perfect host - friendly, knowledgeable with her guidebook, and highly responsive. Would definitely recommend her cottage and hope to visit again!

Cute property, clean, no direct access to the hot tub area but it is just across the driveway and is very secluded so wasn't a problem. Downstairs rooms slightly damp feel but then again it is a very old building so didn't bother us much. Very well connected to Bath and Bristol.

Very well appointed and great for a family, we had an 18 month old with us. The games room is a little gimmicky but was fun along with all the board games as we had a little one with us so adds a little to the stay along with the hot tub and beautiful garden as couldn’t pop to the pub in the evening. There is also a cache of cars which our daughter loved to play with, it was these nice little touches that made a difference. Some great recommends from the host and the local area is handy and beautiful with a play park just a 10 min walk away. Recommend the Rose and Crown pub on a sunny day, 15-20minute walk, garden is great and little slide for kids. Traffic is the only downside to the area really but the house is nestled away from it all.

Me and my partner had a wonderful stay at Ollivia’s cottage to celebrate our anniversary. Ollivia was very welcoming and accommodating. This is the perfect place for a peaceful getaway and would highly recommend.

Glebe Farm Cottage has been simply perfect during my nearly 2 month stay this May & June with my cocker spaniel. It has everything you need for a relaxed break; incredible views, sunsets, local walks, an alfresco bath in the private gravel garden with lashings of hot water to relax in & listen to the birdsong & the buzzing of the bees. You can lie there sipping your favourite wine and enjoy the utter quiet, interspersed with the occasional air display from nearby Compton Abbas airfield. The village is gorgeous, ducklings on the pond, handy coffee and essentials vending machines tucked just 50yards away from the cottage for you & walkers who visit this lovely place. Tessa has been the perfect host, touching base when needed & providing the softest linen for the most comfortable sleep imaginable. The cottage is wonderfully laid out and decorated & I’m definitely taking some house & garden design tips to my new home. Thank you, it’s been fabulous.

We had an amazing stay at maple cottage. The place was absolutely lovely and you could not want for anything else. Had everything you needed and more. Lovely little hamper on arrival and everything in the place very well thought out. Very comfortable beds. Lovely hot tub and garden area. Highly recommend the cottage and Paul. Very clear and good communication and left us to it but was always there if needed anything. Thank you for sharing your little haven with us 😊.

We had a lovely few days staying in Templecombe. The cottage is very comfortable with a cosy living room, well equipped kitchen and two good-sized bedrooms with really comfy duvets! Our only regret is we didn't get to use the fireplace in the living room as the weather was so nice! James was really accommodating and friendly, and gave us some great recommendations for things to do with our two small children. We loved visiting Stourhead and had a delicious Sunday lunch at the beautiful Story Pig farm. A lovely break!

Thank you for such amazing stay Sandy! The lodge was as described, had everything we needed and was clean. The highlight was the beautiful surroundings and sounds of all the animals! Our young boys loved it! Sandy was helpful, quick to respond to messages and very friendly! Highly recommend and we can’t wait to stay again :)

This is the second time we have stayed in this cosy beautifully decorated cottage in Bruton. The location and host are fabulous, with such comfortable and classic furnishings and close to all the best of what Bruton has to offer.

This is a beautiful spot which has lovely walks nearby and some amazing walks at local attractions in particular Alfred’s tower - our dogs loved it and so we were able to relax !comfortable accommodation in a beautiful old building the bedroom in particular is gorgeous

Clerk Cottage is a true delight, by far one of the best Airbnb we’ve stayed in. Every detail has been thought of in order to ensure a comfortable stay, very high quality, we loved it. Have to also mention the fabulous shower! Close to some great walks through the church grounds. I hope being right next to a graveyard doesn’t put you off as this cottage is a true gem. So much we extended our stay and can highly recommend, thank you Claire.

Spent a few days at the cottage with our 4 1/2 year old. It was just right for our little family. Our daughter loved the bunk beds and the toys Nick had prepared. Having friendly cows in the field next to the property was a nice added bonus. The cottage is charming and in a peaceful and quiet location. It is just a short drive from various family attractions as well as cultural places. We enjoyed eating out but equally liked eating in and watching one of Nick's DVDs.

Gillian’s gift of eggs and scones for breakfast was a godsend! The towels were huge, the garden lush. We lit a fire and listened to the doves coo late into the night. We were sore from a week of travel and her cottage was a respite. Thank you!!!

Such a wonderful stay — thank you so much to Jo for making us feel so welcome. A lovely cosy cottage which I’d fully recommend. Local area beautiful with some great walks. We loved the Wild Herb at the field Kitchen for our morning coffee. Thanks Jo, we hope to be back at some point in the future.

We had a great time at this place. It’s a spacious and very clean accommodation. We enjoyed the silence very much. Looking outside the kitchen window is like looking into a 3-D painting. It’s a beautiful place from where you can do many different walks. Magnus and Roz are very friendly and easygoing..The weather was great and they let us use their beautiful garden with swimming pool as well. When we arrived it was nice to find bread, milk, butter, jam etc in the kitchen. It’s been a wonderful fortnight over here!

My wife and I stayed here for a portion of an overall longer trip. This was by far our favorite stay. A beautiful place just as described, with easy access to the surrounding community. We will be back if we get the chance.

A truly lovely place to stay in a beautiful part of the country. Greeted as we arrived and made to feel welcome instantly. The place is full of memorabilia and Paul’s photographic career fills the walls to perfection

This is our second stay at Lakeside Barn and again it lived up to our expectations. Such a beautiful place with peaceful surroundings. Anna and George are the perfect hosts and I would have no hesitation in recommending the barn.

I will come back again and again, beautiful Cabina with everything you need in the kitchen, it also has a washer if you need it, very private, but the best is that it’s across the street from the famous Bath Sky Line, if you like hiking, walking, plain watching the most spectacular view of the town and mountains this is your place! It’s about 20 mins walking to downtown bath and the walk is just the most beautiful, I found it perfect to being close to the town but away enough for some privacy. The uphill is challenging but plenty of cute stops to immerse yourself in the magnificent landscape. I will be back for sure

We had a perfect little stay in the Nook. It’s beautifully equipped with all you could need, but without clutter. We love not having to move things out the way to get settled in. Very importantly the bed is huge and super-comfy with the most gorgeous cotton sheets. The thoughtful selection of breakfast things was perfect. We’d love to stay again next time we’re in the area.

Leah visited us on the day of our arrival to check all was OK. The cottage has all the little extras anyone would want. Its location is within the boundaries of Shaftesbury Abbey which has now disappeared but must have been spectacular viewed from the valley below. Views over the valley can be enjoyed when taking the 5 minute walk along the edge of this hill towards the centre of town and Gold Hill the ‘Hovis’ hill. We used the cottage as a base to explore Dorset and surrounding counties and would highly recommend the cottage for its amenities and quiet location next to the hospital and close to the centre of the town.
