Holiday rentals with a patio in Morakatiyara

Wonderful spacious place with fresh renovation and mesmerizing ocean view. Very easy to to contact your host and staff. Lots of places around, 1 minute to the ocean. There is a minimum set of detergents - shower gels and shampoos. Clean enough, but the kitchen is starting to feel a little musty. For this season, it can look a little expensive and I want to expect more details at this price category - slippers, bathrobes, toothbrushes, more towels, shaving accessories, but these are more points for improvement, still this is an apartment, not a hotel. 11/10 :)

Where to start.. In my 10+ years on Airbnb, I have never come across a property like this. The hosts and their kids are just exquisite. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home and cater to your every need. The apartment is brand-new, super clean, and has all the amenities needed at the same time the lush jungle and green surroundings give a very tropical vibe. Working from home cannot be better, more peaceful, and private and with high-speed internet. The family loves to cook a meal for you, so you can keep on working or simply enjoy a relaxing stay. There is also the possibility to rent their scooter or tuk-tuk, make use of the laundry services and enjoy a yoga session on the rooftop deck. It's situated in the middle of the jungle, with monkeys and all kinds of lovely creatures. We love to surf, and with the beach just 5 mins scooter ride away, we felt like we had everything we could dream of. We will be back for sure!:) Thank you Nalaka and family for the wonderful stay!

Eva is very friendly, helpful and replied to our messages quickly. The property manager Tharushan was very friendly and helpful when there were powercuts, he would let us know or turn on the generator if we needed it. He showed us all the facilities when we arrived. The apartment is beautiful, spacious and such a luxury to stay in. The shower was hot and powerful! It was very handy having the AC and fan as it was really hot during our stay. The neighbourhood is very peaceful and the neighbours are very friendly. There is a restaurant nearby (30 second walk) and their Sri Lankan curry buffet is a must-try! We were sad to leave this luxury apartment.

Danuka was a great host, very flexible with check in/out times and let us drop our bags off early. Helped us rent scooters and even source a lost parcel. Thanks for a great stay

Absolutely magical 3 weeks at Sudu Villa with our 5-month old son. Before check-in, Matt’s communication was excellent and was also reached out to by Charu, the Villa Manager, who both were happy to answer any questions we had. Check-in was smooth and we had the best time at Sudu Villa. Location is absolutely perfect, with easy walks to Pehebiya Beach and Hirikitiya. Charu was absolutely brilliant throughout our stay and couldn’t do enough for us, whether that’s organising surf lessons, tuktuks or airport transfers. Villa was immaculate with regular pool cleaning, we felt immediately relaxed from Day One. Will definitely be returning, a memorable few weeks.

I was searching for a place to establish a home base for my trip when Ann's property caught my attention. I was captivated by what it had to offer in the photos, so I booked it with great excitement. Ann was incredibly responsive and helped me plan my trip accurately by being flexible with my dates, ensuring I felt right at home from the very first day. When I arrived, I walked onto the balcony, which provided a serene view of the Ahangama ocean. The apartment was exactly what I wished for and more. It was very clean, tidy, and thoughtfully furnished. The apartment truly felt like a home, helping me unwind each day and wake up refreshed for the next. I would also like to extend a special thank you to Ann and her team, including Mane, for being exceptional hosts who always greeted me with a smile and provided thoughtful care. My partner and I stayed here for 2 weeks as we wanted a relaxing holiday to South Sri Lanka. We were very pleased with our stay. The apartment is in a fabulous location making it very easy to walk to breakfast/dinner and beach front bars in the evening. La belle on the doorstep of the place is great for sunset. Gianluca is a super friendly host, was very helpful, always responding quickly, he also arranged a bike for us for our stay which was very helpful. The apartment was cleaned regularly & we were provided with fresh shower & beach towels. Highly recommend staying here.

Lovely & calm full apartment with AC, Hot water and mosquito net. The family hosting is lovely, but the apartment is kind of separate with even a rooftop access for smokers. For me, perfectly located away from the busy side of town and yet still close enough to go surfing within 5min by scooter to Hiri Beach. Price for quality wise one of the best apartments I stayed in. Would book again, no doubt.

This is a lovely AirBnB, located close to the beach and nearby restaurants. The property is beautifully decorated and was nice and clean on arrival. Beds are comfortable with AC in one bedroom and fans in the other. One thing to note is that the neighbours have 2 dogs who can bark quite a lot when walking up to the house - not the fault of the property just worth being aware so they don’t come as a surprise! Rebecca is very responsive and easy to communicate with. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We loved staying at Shaun’s villa! Out of the eight places we stayed in during our trip to Sri Lanka, this was our favorite. The location, the villa, and being so close to the ocean was just what we needed. The villa was clean, well looked after, and felt really welcoming. Whenever we had a question, we got a quick and helpful reply, which made everything super easy. We also really liked the great food just across the street, which we could easily order to the villa. And being close to The Doctor’s House was a big plus – fun weekend market and tasty dinners in the evenings. We’re a family of four and felt super comfortable here. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back one day!

Gads Villa is a truly magical place. The gardens are exquisitely landscaped, and the giant Velvet Apple tree is really a wonder to behold. The pool has a shallow section which is perfect for little ones, or for adults to lounge in. The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed (important when traveling with 4 youngsters!). The bathrooms are likewise huge and very prettily set out. Beds are comfortable and the fans were sufficient to keep us cool at night. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe, a few minutes tuk tuk ride into the main part of town. I personally found it very convenient to have yoga and a little spa within a few minutes walk. Secret Beach is also only a short walk away. Sahan and team were super helpful, and breakfasts were delicious. All in all a fabulous stay.

I had a fantastic stay at Green Leaf Apartment! Everything was perfect. The apartment was clean, cozy, and exactly as shown. The host was super friendly and always helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and a real highlight of my stay. I felt very comfortable and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for everything!

We LOVED our stay at Hiriketiya Studios. Nishan was such an incredible host—he went far above and beyond in his hospitality. The place itself is lovely and peaceful with a gorgeous pool and high quality kitchen equipment for cooking. Location wise, it’s in a perfect spot, totally walkable to Hiriketiya or Dickwella beach, cute cafes, big grocery store, and even to snorkeling with turtles.

Beautiful place in amazing area. It’s a great escape from the hustle of city and you are still close to the Weligama and Ahangama (both approximately 10 minutes ride). Totally recommend

Wow! This a really great property, we stayed for 1 month, the management is excellent, the caretaker (Shamika) is amazing, he'll shop for you and take you places all at very resonable prices. It's near a Monastery, so you'll hear the Monks workship at differnt times, which is fantastic, the pool is clean and a great size, inside the property is very well maintained, and has everything you need. All in all a truely wonderful experience.

Very nice stay with this lovely family! They are very loving and truely cared about me. They made some food and shared it. Everything what I needed was there. Would highly recommend as a homestay.

Chandima was the best hostess. She was friendly, helpful and we did not lack anything while we were there. We felt right at home and would definitely choose her place again when visiting Sri Lanka again!

Pavi, Bathi and their family and friends are the loveliest of people, always ready to help or offer advice when needed. Our apartment was situated on the 2nd floor and was lovely, bedroom and bathroom bare very large as is the kitchen diner, if there was anything you needed Pavi got it sorted asap, the grounds are immaculate and have a plethora of wildlife wandering the grounds, the use of the swimming pool was a great addition. Polhena itself is situated in a great spot for travelling out from and has a wonderful little beach(it does get busy at weekends). Shops are in walking distance as is the main town of Matara or a short fun tuk tuk ride. Colombo and other places are easily accessible via buses or train, both a fun way to travel. We will be back.

This is our 2nd stay at Sha Villas by Ushaan. Overall, Five-star host and a brilliant apartment! Check in and check out is super easy, and Ushaan is a very communicative and thoughtful host. It is a beautiful , spacious place with great amenities. Immaculately clean and a very convenient location. We would book again for our next visit.

I highly recommend Sanjayas place, it is in a quiet and beautiful area with its own private entrance, walking distance to the local restaurants and beaches. The room was perfect with a great terrace, Sanjaya and his family are wonderful. I hope to be back again.

Our stay couldn’t have been more amazing. The apartment is so beautiful and comfortable. It’s spotless clean, great kitchen facilities and ice cold AC. It’s located right in front of a little local beach where there is a lot of boats docked which is stunning for sunset. The locals around are all so friendly as well. Such quick and helpful communication from the host. Couldn’t recommend enough it’s an absolute steal for the price.

Thank you! Super organized on site. The manager speaks English and was extremely friendly and helpful. We were even picked up by the tuk-tuk. There is also one available for a small fee to go to the beach (Turtle Beach), for example! Duration about 10 min. You can also walk along side streets in 30 minutes. Basically, the direct environment is very nice to explore on foot. The beach is aptly named: sea turtles have actually been spotted here. There are also plenty of restaurants. Just a little further away, you can visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Galle Fort. Approximately 8 km, 15 minutes by tuk-tuk. In terms of amenities, Villa Hanra has everything you need: refrigerator, coffee machine, kettle, microwave... Everything is clean, new and tastefully furnished. In short, a fantastic European standard. And the pool... What can I say, just awesome: just jumped in. :-)
