Calf House Cottage

AnneRating, 5 stars4 months ago
A wonderful place to stay, the cottage was beautifully appointed and everything we required was there. We felt right at home straight away, and enjoyed watching the cows through the picture window. The cottage is well set out, and felt really spacious, with a smart open plan kitchen and nice little details. Comfy beds with lovely fresh linen, and the walk in waterfall shower was perfect, the bathroom is so stylish. The weather was really cold when we stayed but the cottage felt really snug with the underfloor heating. Sharon and Stephen were really friendly and helpful, and made us feel really welcome. Set just outside the village so away from the hubbub but really handy for all the amenities and a great base for exploring the area. We are booking to stay again later in the year, and would definitely recommend calf cottage!

Darlington, West End Mowden Area

What a wonderful place to stay, could not fault it. I needed a place to suit individuals travelling from across all corners of the country. The house is nothing short of stunning, private enough but easy to find. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and I would definitely return. Fantastic job!

Comfortable, cosy and amenable!

Lovely home with everything we needed for the 12 days we stayed. Lauren was able to give us tonnes of information and everything was readily available. The location was also excellent - quiet area but within short walking distance to parks and the town centre.

Juliet Beautiful 1 bedroom, central, modern space

DavidRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A fantastic place to stay. Very clean with modern amenities, very comfortable bed. I stayed 28 days and used the apartment as a base for day-trips to places around Darlington. Katie was very responsive and always quick to answer any inquiries, and she gave excellent suggestions/recommendations. The apartment is also close to a grocery store and excellent restaurants as well as near to the train station and public transportation. I would most definitely stay again. I highly recommend this accommodation. It was a fantastic value.

Aberford Cottage

KarenRating, 5 stars3 days ago
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage. It was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable throughout. The sofa and bed were both perfect for relaxing after days spent exploring the area. We were lucky to have good weather during our stay, and one evening we even enjoyed watching a spectacular lightning storm roll across the fields — a truly memorable experience. The location is fantastic, with easy access to nearby attractions. During our visit, we explored Seaham, Bishop Auckland, and the Beamish Museum, all of which were well worth the trip. One of the unexpected highlights was the group of mischievous chickens at the bottom of the garden — they added a lot of charm and amusement to our stay.

The Byre

This is an elegantly and comfortably furnished little place for two people within the friendly family's farmyard. Great views. Walkable into Bishop Auckland ( countryside footpath) with good access to the Auckland Project and Kynren. Everything was in good order and Gemma was around and keen to help with anything we might need.

Village location, close to the A1

A very spacious, well maintained, every amenity required and very comfortable place to stay. The village is quiet with a great Chinese take away close by. Durham only 20mins away. Victoria responded very quickly to our queries.
