Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Mount Desert Island

Worth the price.. place is perfect for family getaway! We experience the best sunset just 3mins away from the house. Host is very proactive... Thank you for the amazing stay!

So many great things to stay about this fantastic Airbnb: amazing location, gorgeous backyard, everything was clean and neat. The hosts had excellent communication and were responsive as questions came up. They had great recommendations for supermarkets, hikes, local restaurants. There were so many little things that showed attention to detail: sound machines in every room, jewelry bowls on nightstands, good quality cosmetics, detergent for the washing machine, etc. The house has 3 bedrooms: all the linens were clean and neat. The one thing to keep in mind is that the third bedroom was smaller and had less space than the other two with no furniture - this would be perfect for a family with kids but was not ideal for 3 friends traveling since not all the bedrooms were exactly equitable. Overall, we had an amazing experience - it was such a pleasure to stay there.

Our family had the best, most relaxing vacation at Evergreen Hill! Everything was fresh, clean, and comfortable. Our dogs loved the fenced backyard but their parents loved that feature even more! We enjoyed being close to Southwest Harbor, Seawall, and Bass Harbor Head Light. Our hosts thought of everything for tourists with dogs, and our family was so appreciative. The neighborhood is private and quiet. We opened windows and listened to the birds every morning. We wholeheartedly recommend Evergreen Hill!!

Brian’s AirBnb is in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The keypad check in is simple. The home is spotless. There are plenty of linens and kitchenware. The home is close to Acadia and downtown Ellsworth. If you want a short drive to Acadia and MDI, this is your place!

The house was exactly as described. It was a perfect location that left most of the midtown (or downtown?) area at a walkable distance. It was relatively peaceful too. We only had three very minor issues while there. First the WiFi was down when we arrived, but they were very responsive and came same day to fix it. Second, we got a little confused about the parking. Again the host was super responsive and helped explain it to us. Lastly, if you are renting the house for four or more people I recommend buying your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The host provided some and we never reached out for more but they are very small and probably won’t last a group. I’m sure if we had reached out they would have provided more but we decided to go buy some to save everyone effort. The house was beautiful and the amenities were very thoughtful. They have provided boardgames which we took advantage of and a lobster pot! I highly recommend this place.

Comfortable and cozy! We really enjoyed our time at “the pink house”. It was an excellent home base for us while we explored the island, and we felt so lucky that our dog could join us on the trip. Thank you for the pet friendly accommodation!

Aaron's place was fantastic for our party of 6 (my partner and me, our kids, her parents). The house was located perfectly on the North end of Mt. Desert Island by Hadley Point Beach (where we were lucky to catch both a meteor shower and the Northern Lights.) While the lower level had a separate entrance, the kids appreciated the additional privacy/area away from adults. The entire house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. All of the amenities (well stocked kitchen, two bathrooms, washer/dryer, patio) were much appreciated. We'd definitely stay again when visiting Acadia.

The house was absolutely amazing! Clean- gorgeous views and very peaceful. 10/10 would stay there again.

Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

Adorable cottage, newly renovated. Perfect for two with an open space loft for one more. Kitchen is well stocked right down to the coffee. A good location if visiting Fort Knox, Mt. Barrie and not too far from Bar Harbor if that is on your list. Great stay, highly recommend. Beautiful view and private.

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

We got a very rainy week in Maine but still enjoyed the beautiful, comfortable and well stocked house, views, decks and incredible garden. Beautiful restaurants, bookstores and wine and antique shops near by. Hope to return to very soon.

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

Aaron's apartment was the perfect place for our group of four - clean, comfortable and in a great location. It had everything we needed, beds were super comfortable, access to the Inn was nice for breakfast and post-hike relaxation in late afternoons. Aaron was a very responsive host. We plan to stay here again next time we come to Bar Harbor.

BigCamp lovely Maine cottage with wonderful panoramic views of Long Pond. It is located on the Quite Side of MDI but great restaurants and Acadia adventures are all within an easy 20-30 minute drive away. Alan provided clear communication and everything one could need for a very comfortable stay. Our rental was for two adult couples and our two dogs. The sleeping space is probably better suited for one couple with children as the two bedrooms are on the smallish size. The beds were all comfortable. The king bed in the open living room provided a very scenic space with privacy provided by a folding bamboo screen. The deck has great pond views with comfortable outdoor furniture and new fire pit. There is also a clean working grill on the front deck area. We especially appreciate Alan opening his home to our two dogs which helped make our vacation extra special as a family. We will look forward to being able to come back again in the future!

This cabin on Long Pond offers such a quintessential Maine experience! It is an idyllic escape for anyone seeking peace and calm, yet there is plenty of opportunity for adventure and exploration on MDI (like a 4am sunrise on Cadillac mountain). We have stayed in a lot of old cabins in the woods, and we found this one to be especially clean and fresh, including nice crisp sheets, a spotless bathroom, and the ability to let the cabin get fresh air all day every day with many screens in the windows and doors as to not let the bugs inside. From watching loons dance, cold plunging off the dock, and many cozy fires at night.. we can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful place on the quite side of the island but still close to some of MDI’s and Acadia’s most beautiful hidden gems!

We enjoyed our stay immensely! The home is very comfortable, clean, and every little detail was thought out for renters (even provided sunscreen, bug spray, laundry detergent, etc!). The host was super responsive and helpful with clear instructions. We felt so welcome and the area is really peaceful. We enjoyed watching the deer and birds from the comfortable back deck. We would definitely recommend this cottage!

My husband & I really enjoyed our stay at this place. It is a modernized unit inside of a really cool old house! Really nice bathroom &clean kitchen! It's in a cute hilly neighborhood down the street from the quaint downtown Ellsworth &only 30 min drive to Bar Harbor & Acadia! Everything was clean & comfortable except the mattress is a bit worn out. The smart TV & comfy couch were great. Riverside Cafe down the st. for amazing breakfast/lattes. We loved the local recommendations hanging by the door. We tried almost all of them! Geddy's in Bar Harbor was our fave for decor, fish tacos and blueberry pie. Ivy Manor Inn for great ambiance/cocktails, McKays Public House for an incredible higher end dinner in a victorian house, Ben&Bills Chocolate Emporium Awesome ice cream,Graffiti Donuts is amazing too! If flying home from Bangor AP, be sure to hit up The Eagles Nest sitting at the rivers edge (only 15 mins from the ap) for Amazing lobster rolls, lobster grilled cheese,& the best fries! A+

If you are looking for a vacation that is quiet, relaxing and with stunning views then this is the place! Only 10 minutes from downtown bar harbor and quick easy access to Acadia. Honestly, my wife and I made less trips to Acadia because the views from the property were better! The hosts are fantastic and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend.

It was a nice location and the place was as described. The dock was nice, but the stairs getting down is through the driveway of another house. It was a great spot to come back to after a day exploring Acadia.
