Without doubt THE BEST place we've ever been on holiday ❤️. The location is just perfect if you're looking for an 'off grid' place. The mountain views are outstanding and only interrupted by the sound of the mountain goats bells which are wonderfully melodic!. The hosts were wonderful providing us with a homemade Moussaka for our arrival 👌delivering fresh eggs from their hens later in the week. Google Maps brings you right to the villa and a small hire car can make it just take your time on the windy bits! If you're a cat lover you're in for a treat as there are a few beautiful young cats to feed (food provided by owners). Pool fabulous accommodation perfect. We are already booking for next year! 💯 the perfect place to wind down and recharge away from everything we couldn't recommend enough! ps Nikolaos was super helpful when we needed support on getting a flat tyre replaced 👌

We had an unforgettable stay at this accommodation! The place was just as stunning as in the pictures – clean, cozy, and in a fantastic location. Kristel was incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely friendly. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. 😍☀️

Book this! Amalen Suites (only 5 for the entire property) is in the perfect spot! Close to everything but at night quiet and extremely secure! My favorite part of my stay was the staff that ran Amalen! Thank you so much Maria, Jakob, Tolis, and Josie!!! Everyone was so so so kind and gave amazing recommendations for my stay. The breakfast served every morning was phenomenal as well!!! Oh and! My all time favorite products are used at this location (Olive Era) so I was able to buy some bottles to take home too. And because I was traveling alone they checked in with me everyday and made sure I was safe during my stay which means a lot! I truly had an amazing time at this hotel and highly highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND for couples that are traveling through Crete. The city in which Amalen is located is large and can be tough to find parking all of the time so I also did love that this was close to many restaurants, shops, IG worthy cute alleys and a 2 minute walk to the ocean. Thank you!!

Our stay at HotelPraxis was incredible and Polimnia was the most gracious host I have experienced in my 10 years in Airbnb. She was close by but never intrusive, left snacks, fruits and water in the fridge, dropped eggs off, recommended restaurants and incredibly, made baked goods of some traditional Greek treats that were so delicious. My family was overwhelmed by the beauty and privacy of the Blue Lake Villa. And the home is lovely, fluffy towels, great water pressure, comfortable beds. What a treat! We will definitely return! I highly recommend.

Lovely villa, was even nicer than expected! Our flight was delayed so we didn’t arrive until around 1am, however Argyro still gave us a warm welcome and showed us around. We were welcomed with a fruit basket, freshly made snacks, a bottle of raki and retsina and a fridge stocked with bread, eggs, milk and fruit juices which was a nice touch after travelling for so long. Argyro was extremely helpful throughout the trip, recommending us places to go and putting us in touch with a taxi driver after the car rental company let us down. The cleaners also came to the villa half way through and left it spotless, providing us with fresh towels, slippers, toiletries etc. The lake itself is lovely, and you have plenty of tavernas and gift shops nearby (and 24 hour vending machines which even sell alcohol). One thing I would strongly recommend is renting a car, however overall was a 10/10 experience

Absolutely fantastic! Dimitris was waiting for us at the property and was welcoming, friendly, informative and helpful.The level of detail & care and attention with the property was second to none, we have never experienced a host like this.From providing generous details such as bottled water in the fridge, toothbrushes, lots and lots of lovely towels and bedlinen to valuable advice about where to park in the (totally mad) Chania town centre, we could not fault this holiday.The cleaners were fabulous, the house is absolutely spotless.The pool man kept the pool wonderfully clean and hygienic.The host provided so many thoughtful details in the house like nail varnish remover and gorgeous robes and I really enjoyed the artworks on display.The air-conditioning was excellent, the hot water plentiful. A peaceful location just up the road from the touristy bits meant we could really relax in style here. Unmissable. Thank you Nicky and Dimitrius. We all loved it!

Amazing villa with beautiful views. So quiet and peaceful and exactly what we wanted. Maria greeted us as we arrived and was very helpful and friendly and only a message away. Views wow wow wow! All I can say is it was amazing.

Wow! What a wonderful place to call your own on your visit to beautiful Crete. This home is what the listing shows: spacious, clean, private, secure -- close to Lake Kournas. Staying in a place like this, as opposed to a busy town center in Chania or Heraklion, will open you to many scenic drives, which will take you to charming and welcoming villages throughout the country. If you want business and activity, or to feel more like a tourist - this probably isn't the right home for you. But if you feel like you a part of the magic of Crete , and to eat and shop where the locals do, and to come home every evening to a relaxing, private home... do not look any further. Minoas was one of the most wonderful hosts we have had on AirBNB. Very responsive to our needs and went out of his way to ensure our comfort. "This is our gift to you" he said, as he showed a refrigerator with drinks, local beer, and some light snacks. Coffee was supplied, breakfast items too. Highly recommended!
