FredrikLars farm at Nordmarksbergs Mansion

FredrikLars-gården adjacent to Nordmarksbergs Herrgård: 19th century or older. In this farm, the great inventor John Ericsson's grandfather Nils (b. 1747 – 1790) has lived. On a rock in the grounds of the farm, there should be a curtain with the name of Nils. Picture of this stone can be found in Värmlandsarkiv's photo archive on a picture from 1955 (photo Lennart Thelander, pictures SEVA_11229_36 and SEVA_11230-1), but has not been found in the present day. It's probably hidden by mortar that's been covered over the rocks.

The float cabin. Genuine cabin near the creek.

Unique and cozy home in newly renovated old plant for rafts. Timber floating took place over many years on the creeks in the area until the 60 's. The nearest neighbor is a beaver family in the creek next door. Swimming area with pier approx. 600 meters. Rowing boat and 2 canoes can be freely disposed of in Lake Bosjön. It is very sparse traffic in the area so you experience the silence along with the sounds of nature. Bedding and towels are provided for a cost of SEK 100/person. Wooden fire sauna by the lake can be rented.

We had a wonderful time at Anna's mission house. The area is adorable as is the house. The adjacent forest is perfect for small walks, picking berries or jogging. The house offers many opportunities to pursue its own ideas. Very valuable is the website operated specifically for the house and area by Anna operated. With a lot of practical knowledge of the house and good excursion tips. Anna's house is an ideal place for uncomplicated idealists.

We had a wonderful time. Outside the city, surrounded by nature. Fantastic property with private sauna and river access. Cozy house with a fireplace and a kitchen so well equipped that you really don't have to take anything with you. We've never had such a well-equipped kitchen. We feel very comfortable! Some drawbacks mosquitoes and that you have to sit in the shower. But that didn't bother us so much and we knew it before.

"Livets Källa" - your own private island in Sweden

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the island. You have the island to yourself, so it's completely private and provides magnificent views at the same time. The beautiful weather surely helped as well: we had lots of sunny days, so the kids enjoyed themselves swimming and jumping off the sauna balcony into the water, while we had time to relax, read books and do nothing :). We did all our cooking over the fire at the fireplace near the water in the evening sun. Of course, as an off-grid house, facilities are a bit limited - even though there is a warm shower. The town with supermarket and shops is nearby, but of course it takes a boat ride to get there. Lots of fun in the sun, a bit of planning required when it's rainy ;). It's been a 'back to basic' experience that we can recommend to anyone.

We had 2 very nice days. Louise is a very nice host, despite our last-minute booking she responded quickly and we could find the route and everything in the house thanks to her clear description. The cabin is equipped with everything you need, with the new bathroom a 1-minute walk away, the cabin is complete. The view over the garden & lake, sauna and swimming jetty are fantastic, we will definitely miss them. We'd love to come back!

We had a wonderful time at Anita's. The place was quietly located and absolutely lovingly furnished. It was very clean and everyday items such as coffee, salt, oil, etc. were already available. Our child was also able to have fun, as there were toys as well as a high chair and crib in the house. With the fireplace, we were able to make ourselves really comfortable and we were also able to use as much wood as we needed. The surroundings are a dream and offer many hiking trails and lakes. Anita and Michiel are two great people who always helped us with all our questions and concerns. We felt at home with them and would come back again and again.
