Eight minutes walk from York train station. With an eye for the unusual and attention to detail Royal College of Art graduates David and Anita have created the perfect, dreamy get-away. The apartment has been selected by Alistair Sawday's 'Special Places to Stay' (the first in York). This spacious apartment has been lovingly restored and styled by its artist owners and features their original artworks (paintings/lights). The apartment has solid oak flooring, antique Persian rugs and a combination of period French and contemporary designer furniture which contributes to the apartment's special character. A stunning set of 18th century chateau doors divide the living and bedrooms and provide the 'wow factor' of this charming find. A welcome basket of Prosecco or red or white wine and olives as well as breakfast provisions to be found in the kitchen; Artisan bread, butter, preserves, cereals, milk, free-range eggs, fresh fruit juice, Marmite, Betty's/Yorkshire tea and ground coffee. *FREE WI-FI* and *FREE PARKING*. The living room with its linen covered antique chesterfield sofa, large format art books, 42" Smart HD TV with Freeview, DVD player, Bose Bluetooth sound system is perfect for a cosy night in. Wet-room style bathroom with walk-in shower, heated towel rail, underfloor heating and plenty of white fluffy towels (shower gel and shampoo etc.) The kitchen - reclaimed slate work-tops, Victorian tiled floor. Induction hob, oven, fridge, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster etc. Washer-dryer, steam iron and ironing board. Ring front door bell marked 'Evagora-Campbell' and David or Anita will give you a key and show you around the apartment. The apartment is within our family house but completely private with its own entrance. Your hosts are on hand, though, for advice on local attractions, restaurants and places to visit for day trips. 'Atelier 22 York' is situated in York's 'Cultural Quarter', a few minutes walk from the Yorkshire Museum, the Theatre Royal, York Art Gallery and the Minster. The city's top eateries are a stone's throw away : Roots, The Star Inn The City, Betty's, Skosh, Partisan, Le Cochon Aveugle, as well as numerous pubs and bars; a gentle stroll back home at night. The beautifully restored medieval buildings of Stonegate and the Shambles provide the perfect setting for some last minute shopping. York's many attractions, including The Minster, Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, Treasures House, Fairfax House, Castle Museum, National Railway Museum, City Walls, Theatre Royal, City Screen Cinema, Betty's famous Tea Rooms are all 5-10 minutes walk away as well as beautiful riverside walks and restaurants, pubs and bars too numerous to mention. So a car taxi/bus is not a necessity at all. A walk through the tranquil Museum Gardens, a couple of minutes away, past the medieval ruins of St. Marys Abbey and the restored 3rd century Roman Multangular tower brings you into the pedestrianised heart of the city. York station (with coach stops for excursions to Whitby, Castle Howard, Fountain's Abbey and the coast) 8 minutes walk. Cycle hire from 'Cycle Heaven' also at York Station. Our self-contained studio apartment has a shower room, store room, well equipped kitchen, superking bed ( Available as 2x3ft. singles if required), a terrace & garden overlooking open countryside with uninterrupted views of the Cleveland Hills & Captain Cook's Monument. It is a 3 min drive/15min walk to the bustling town of Stokesley where there are restaurants, cafes, pubs, shops, supermarkets, take-aways, a weekly Friday market and a popular Farmers' Market on the 1st Saturday of the month.

Market view looks over the ancient and attractive market square with its old buildings and areas of interest. It is central for hotels, shops and scenic walks. You’ll love Market view because it is spacious, well equipped and has a lovely atmosphere. There are a combination of small shops, offering art, clothing, and souvenirs. There is a great selection of hotels, pubs and tearooms. There is an excellent range of local food shops. Many scenic walks are on the doorstep. Babies welcome.
