Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Northumberland

The barn was beautiful and full of little touches. Pam was an excellent host and was very friendly. She even baked us shortbread whilst we were there! We loved the peace and quiet yet we could get to Alnwick within 10 minutes. A fantastic break. Pam has put together a folder with recommendations for food and drink and this was especially useful. Would love to stay again.

A wonderful short break. The cottage is beautifully designed, with gorgeous furnishings and decor, and has everything you need, as well as being spotlessly clean. All the little details are lovely. The shower is amazing, the sofa very comfy, and the fire looked tempting but we didn't need it (sadly!), as the cosy underfloor heating kept us lovely and warm. The setting is peaceful, with a view of the private garden from the kitchen, and the walled garden is very special. We enjoyed trips to the lovely Northumberland coast, about a 30-40 minute drive away, as well as a walk from the door. This was one of the loveliest cottages we've ever stayed in, and we plan to return at some point.

Enjoyed our stay; felt very comfortable in Selby cottage which is close to local amenities. Karen was a great host - friendly and responsive when we had a query. We'd love to return to the property sometime next year.

Wow what a location and property! We were so excited to arrive and were overjoyed when our high expectations were exceeded! This really is a spot of magic, the views, scenery and local walks are unbeatable and the cottage is truly beautiful inside, with everything you would need for a luxury relaxing stay. We have already talked of when to return. Sunrises from the back garden were spectacular.

Had an amazing night at Humshaugh. Tom was so lovely and couldn’t have been any more helpful. We were allowed to leave the car on the drive before check in so we could go for a walk. He suggested places to go and even asked if we wanted anything putting in the fridge before we went for the walk. Check-in was so easy and Tom send brilliant instructions on how to find his home. Will definitely be staying here again. It was so peaceful and relaxing. X

The house was easy to find and very welcoming. Inside it was spotless and very nicely furnished so it was very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped, something often lacking in holiday homes, and was wonderfully spacious. Having a double aspect was a bonus with that great view of said estuary! The bedding and towels were of good quality and having hand wash at every sink was a nice extra. Despite being in a village the house was quiet and peaceful at night, but we felt totally secure. The location is brilliant with pubs/restaurants, a shop and the beach all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. All in all, Estuary Cottage made for a wonderful break, and we will definitely return. A beautiful retreat in a beautiful part of the world. A great place for a meeting amongst friends. Plenty of space, extra blankets for cold nights and a fire to keep warm. An amazing authentic experiences which was loved by all of us. This was a place to remember. Thanks.

The photos do not do the place justice - it is absolutely beautiful and so thoughtfully decorated. So much bigger than it looked online too and we had a great stay. The only issue we had was that the hot water stopped working mid way through the day. Elizabeth was super helpful and responsive to the problem but we had to be in Newcastle for early evening so it meant 6 of our party had to have freezing cold showers one day as the water took too long to come back on. Other than that, I can’t fault it. Surroundings are beautiful. So peaceful and yet close to shops, airport (25 mins), a gorgeous spa (matfen hall), and a 35 min minibus to Newcastle. Would recommend to all.

We had a great stay. Everything was really clean and cosy. Location was great - only a 5-10 minute uber to the city centre. James was really responsive too. Would recommend to anyone!

Had a lovely couple of nights here. Asked for recommendations for restaurant and takeaways before hand and both we chose were very good. Both Marcelle and Alan are very friendly, as are the dogs! mentioned we were staying for my husbands birthday and without asking banners were put up in the room. thank you. Will remember this place if we are ever in that area again.

Lovely apartment, felt right at home :) really close to lots of restaurants and a 10 minute Uber into the centre so couldn’t fault it! Laura was an amazing host and we would definitely recommend!!

Sara, a warm and lovely lady, hosted me for a long weekend. The garden room has a nice modern design — clean, tidy, and with a great shower. Strongly recommend booking her place if you’re planning to explore Hadrian’s Wall or the surrounding area!

Had a fantastic weekend in Jedburgh. The flat was just as described and clean. Great base for us. Will definitely visit again!

Fantastic apartment in a delightful village in the heart of of the countryside. Belllingham is well worth visiting and has every amenity that you require for a short or longer stay with very friendly locals. The apartment was located adjacent to a micro brewery which provided a fantastic tour, street food and live music.

Had a lovely stay at the glamping pod hosted by Jane. She was lovely and came to greet us to make sure we were happy with everything. Jane had thought of everything needed to have a comfortable stay and the surroundings was beautiful. Will definitely be back!

Amazing spot with stunning views, and really friendly and welcoming hosts

We had such a lovely stay and it was such a fabulous find. Perfect for kids and/or adults alone. The kitchen and showers were very clean and roomy and the staff were super friendly. Our accommodation was clean and a perfect size and the added extra of the fire pit was a huge hit for toasted marshmallows. We couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely rebook for later in the summer.

Absolutely loved our stay here, sad to be going home but would definitely make a return! Our dog willow especially enjoyed being able to roam around in nature! Massive thank you to Sarah for providing an excellent experience ☺️

Amelia’s tiny home was so beautiful and well laid out! We loved the private garden and chiminea too. We felt like we were right in Mr. McGregor’s garden with Peter Rabbit. The milk, cereal, biscuits, coffee, champagne, ciders, and tea were such a thoughtful touch as well. We would definitely recommend booking a stay here…especially if you want to enjoy a private outdoor space.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful location with stunning views across the Northumberland valleys The ‘pod’ was spotless and very comfortable. The welcome pack from Heidi was super useful and appreciated. We relaxed in the hot tub after a long day out which was lovely, chilling in the morning with a coffee in the deckchairs was a good way to start the day. Heidi was great host met us on arrival to welcome us. We can’t wait to get back and stay again as a base for exploring the beautiful Northumberland countryside

What a wonderful spot. This place was magical with views over the fields of Bamburgh castle from the site and a lovely 20 minute walk into seahouses. The staff were friendly and capable and the public facilities were clean and nicely designed. I would absolutely recommend the boat trip to the inner farne islands. We were dive bombed by arctic terns and saw so many puffins guillemots, seals and numerous other birds. Seriously that trip is a birder’s dream.

We loved our stay and being able to bring the dog was a bonus! Wonderful to pop down to the joiners for breakfast and tea, and a lovely base to explore the beaches of Northumberland from. We loved the hot tub and our trip was a welcome escape from the stress of every day life. We will be back!
