From the second half of August to September, after the bustle of summer, you can enjoy the slightly calmer atmosphere of Shinshu. During the day, head to the mountains and highlands, and at night, enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. This is a private cottage where you can enjoy a sauna, BBQ, and the starry sky. It is recommended not only for those who want to spend a relaxing time in Azumino, but also as a base for sightseeing in Kamikochi and Hakuba, for stays of one night or more. Convenient access to Hakuba, Kamikochi, and Tateyama-Kurobe. We also accommodate group trips, family trips, and long-term stays. There is a washing machine and a dryer in the bathroom, so you can stay comfortably for multiple nights. You can get here by public transportation, but it is more convenient to have a car in this area. Free pick-up and drop-off are available from Shinano-Matsukawa Station and Akashina Station. Other pick-up and drop-off services and sightseeing pick-up and drop-off services are available for 2,000-8,000 yen (round-trip fare) depending on the distance, within a 2-hour one-way range. This house overlooks Lake Nojiri and has a superb view. There are several ski resorts (Myoko, Kurohime, Madarao) about 15-20 minutes away by car, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy the wood stove sauna and the water bath with a view. There are no private houses around, so you can listen to music and watch movies loudly. Because it is a house located deep in the mountains, we take the best measures, but in the warm season, insects come out. It snows a lot in winter. In autumn, fallen leaves dance. You will also need to adjust the wood stove fire yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but we promise you a great view and experience. Enjoy cooking with a counter kitchen with a view, condiments and cooking utensils. (There is no equipment for BBQ)

This house is located right below Japanese alps, where you can enjoy outdoor in mountains, rivers and lakes throughout four seasons. We moved to this area from Tokyo because this area is not commercialized, but intact from urbanization. So if you are looking for something different than usual sightseeing, here could be the place to visit. This house used to be a ski ryokan, and we renovated it by ourselves with abandoned and local materials to maintain nice and old Japanese architectural taste.

Good access to Shimosuwa Station! We renovated an 80-year-old Japanese house into a traditional and clean space. (New open in 2023!) You can spend a comfortable time by renting the entire building. Recommended for families, couples and small groups. This area is rich in history and nature. Suwa Taisha Shrine, hot springs, Nakasendo. Hiking in the mountains and strolling around Lake Suwa are also recommended ways to spend your time. It's also great to explore the Suwa area on a rental bicycle.

Just 10 minutes from downtown Matsumoto, Yokoya Farm is a family-run working apple farm in the countryside. Our private kura (Japanese storehouse), next to our family home, was renovated into a guesthouse in 2018. Enjoy the unique experience of staying in a real farmer's kura with the entire building all to yourselves. Our apple orchard is about a 5-minute walk away. During the apple season (late August to mid-November), you're welcome to enjoy complimentary apple picking.
