A truly unique experience. Brand new, fully fledged studio apartment with ensuite bathroom, aboard a former freight ship turned into a houseboat. Breakfast, king-size bed (180x200), 40 inch TV with Chromecast, water cooker, hair dryer, .., everything is included. The KNSM Island is one of the hidden gems of Amsterdam, quiet and peaceful, but close to the city center. It is possible to sit outside on a private terrace and jump in the water for a swim. The sunsets are pretty spectacular as well.

My houseboat is provided with all the luxury you might expect from a regular house with the extra benefits of a terrace with all day sun and airco in the bedroom. In summer we swim in the canal. Aan boord van ons zelf gebouwde woonschip hebben we in het ‘vooronder’ een gastenkamer gemaakt. Er is uitzicht op breed water, een overdekt eigen zitje buiten en als je wil, neem je zo een duik vanuit het appartement. De boot ligt in het Oostelijk Havengebied van Amsterdam, de stedenbouwkundig veel geroemde wijk vlakbij het centrum. Voel je welkom op deze mooie plek en ontdek onze mooie stad per fiets (bij de prijs inbegrepen) of wandel door onze mooie buurt. Alle voorzieningen zijn vlakbij.

In the bright basement (with windows) of our unique canal house with façade-garden, on the corner of a canal and a square with large oak-trees you find this b&b wih lots of privacy, nice rooms and close to everywhere you would like to go! You enter the spacious entrance hall with table and coffee / tea supplies; with a private bathroom, separate toilet and a cozy bedroom / living room. Renovated with natural stone and wood. This house and this area are very photogenic.

Carola's houseboat was a magical place to stay as a solo female traveler and first-time visitor to Amsterdam. The location was secure, and Carola lives next door, which made me feel extra safe. It still felt very private though! I liked that it was out of the craziness of downtown, but still very easy to reach by tram, bike, or walking (20ish minutes). The bedroom was cozy with lots of storage for my clothes and toiletries and stayed pretty cool. You never know what kind of bed you're going to get at an Airbnb, but this one was perfect. I slept well every night and only got woken up by a heron on the roof once! :) Carola herself is extremely kind and welcoming and made my experience special with small touches and our conversations. I can't wait to come back and book Carola's place again. It might be a little small for tall people, but it was perfect for me!

Everything was at advertised, Amar was quick to reply and accommodate us. The place is clean and quiet, close enough for walking distance to the town centre, but public transportation is also close - AND 2 bus stops away from Centraal train station.

First of all, the accommodation is romantic, like a cocoon by the water in a very quiet neighborhood. The neighborhood is slightly out of the way, but easily accessible by tram, bus or bike, and finally we enjoyed discovering this neighborhood of Amsterdam which changes from the bustle of the city center. Finally, Roy and Xander are good at giving advice on activities in the area, and were especially understanding despite our late arrival and were kind enough to keep our luggage on the last day of our stay. A very nice place that I highly recommend, I would go back without hesitation.

We had a lovely stay at this houseboat during our several days in Amsterdam. The place looked just like the pictures and we felt right at home. We wanted the true Amsterdam house boat experience and this is it. The host was extremely responsive and we would definitely stay again. I did want to mention that there is a small ladder type stairs to get in the living/sleeping area of the boat, so just be mindful of that if there is someone handicap traveling with you.
