Hello cat lover! This is Mad Cat Hostel Osaka & Bar, which opened in August 2019. This is a small inn run by a backpacker couple who love to travel, two sign cats Kogo & Maru-chan, and two cats. The chankos are from a wild cat, so they're a little shy, but it's very soothing to see two people sleeping over here in the inn. Over 80 years old, the long house was renovated with DIY, and a beach-style bar was set up on the ground floor to create a living room and water area where everyone can relax, and the rooms on the second floor were finished in an old folk house style.Thanks to the vaulted ceilings, it is full of openness. Even though it is over 80 years old, the area around the water has been thoroughly renovated, so the shower and toilet are shiny.There is also a washing machine (for a fee) in the large kitchen, so it is also recommended for long-term stays. There is a welcome drink service at the bar on the ground floor, so you can relax, have a drink, and enjoy talking with the locals because many locals come to the store. We are a hip boutique hostel in Shinsekai within walking distance of Tsutenkaku Tower, a famous symbol of Osaka. Travel around Osaka is easy as we are located within walking distance of three stations (JR Line, Midosuji and Sakaisuji subway lines). We are also within walking distance of central areas such as Namba. Around our hostel there are many cheap, local restaurants, as well as super markets and shops. The hostel features a shared living area containing a loft with cafe and a records shop. The cafe, located on the first floor serves in-house roasted coffee and some meals. You can play any records you would like to listen to! At the cafe, we sometimes have live music events and food parties so there are many chances to meet local Osaka people. It's possible to go to both of Tengachaya and Hanazonocho sta in 6mins on foot.You can go to NAMBA in 5mins and UMEDA in 14mins by train with no transfer.Tengachaya is a good place to be able to come from KIX with no transfer, and there’re many well-kept-secret restaurants,so you can enjoy!Staffs are kind and friendly,so you would like to come surely again^^Please feel free to ask anything about Osaka!!
