Barn holiday rentals in Potomac River

We had another amazing stay at Sara’s place and already know we’ll be making this an annual tradition. The space is warm, spotless, and incredibly comfortable — it’s the kind of place that instantly puts you at ease. We loved starting our mornings with coffee, homemade treats, and those gorgeous dining room views. The swing set is such a fun touch, and the ever-expanding family of goats continue to be a favorite part of our stay. Everything about this visit was just as special as we remembered. Already looking forward to next year!

Clean, safe, easy check in, spacious. Kid friendly. Felt peaceful and secluded in the forest despite the fact that it's near the road, which was pretty cool. Washer and dryer access was a welcome touch. Kitchen is well stocked. Easy parking. Not too far from town, and the roads around the property are well maintained and easy to navigate. Overall a great stay. Thanks!

We throughly enjoyed our stay in the Barn Loft. Andrea and Steve are gracious hosts. Prior to our arrival, we received information to prepare for our stay. We received timely communication on the date of our arrival. The property is even better than the pictures display. We truly felt welcome and at home. The furnishings are cozy and the beds are so comfortable. Our family enjoyed meeting the hosts, exploring the property, and the opportunity to rest and to relax in such a beautiful scenic area. We appreciated the fact that our dog could accompany us on this trip. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We look forward to returning.

The cottage is beautiful, tranquil, and very comfortable - a one of a kind place. The history of the cottage is very interesting and was part of our wonderful stay there. We, along with our guests with four legs, relished walking the serene property. David was a great host - very helpful, responsive, and nice to work with. We look forward to returning.

The Galleywinter farm offered an experience we will never forget. Overall, the accommodations were comfortable with the surrounding farm peaceful and serene.

This is just someone opening their home, it is someone who loves to host; and it shows! Not only was the view incredible but the place felt like a home. From the little details (the “I forgot it at home” box, plenty of pool and bathroom towels, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash, having freshly ground coffee/sugar/sweetener, having spices and any kitchen utensils you could need, and even a heart keychain on the door and my name on the chalkboard). The bed was so comfortable and the shower pressure was amazing. The pool was great (although the weather was a little too cold for us to enjoy it fully)! The ceiling upstairs on one side of the bed was a little low but it was fine and worth it for a king bed. Every uber driver we had didn’t mind waiting for us as he just looked at the view. Would definitely stay here again!

We truly enjoyed our weekend at "Idyllic Mountain Home - Dog Friendly/great views"! It was all of that and more! Charlotte provided detailed info on how to run the wood stove (early March can get chilly) and we were warm and cozy on both levels all weekend. Other info about the house was very detailed. Our two corgis loved wandering around the property, which is elevated and very private! We took a hike with them on Saturday off of Skyline Drive, which was only about a half hour away; lovely! Dinner Saturday night was a milestone birthday celebration at The Inn at Little Washington, and it was worth the splurge! There's a small area near the bedroom where we set up the dogs crates and they were very comfy while we were gone. I highly recommend Charlotte's home for a weekend getaway!!

My family really enjoyed our stay. It's definitely an off the grid kinda stay. So worth it to put the phone down and enjoy this gem in the woods. The place was well stocked and recently updated. Hot tub was a big added plus! Its definitely a haul from Indiana, but if we are ever in the area again we will be back!!

Overall, I enjoyed the place. The barn was minimalistic and nice for photos. The best part was the waterfront view. The house was very clean and pretty kid friendly (a few high chairs included). The kitchen had the bare minimum to cook and grill with but I wouldn’t say it was fully stocked. I would say in general that we enjoyed our stay. The kayaks were wonderful.

We’ve had this trip booked for over a year and Lake Glen Haven did not disappoint. We were greeted by the sweetest goats, sheep, and cow named Theodore when we arrived. There was even some feed on the picnic table that we could give them. Darn fresh eggs in the fridge and the swimming hole right out front? Get outta here. My kids 10, 8, and 3 were in HEAVEN! There were trails to hike and kayaks to take out on the small lake. Fishing, an island to explore and a charming Farm Store that sold local honey and homemade ice cream sandwiches strictly by honor system. Oh wait, and a tree house! Despite less than awesome weather our family had an amazing time. We were lucky enough to meet and chat with Ashleigh who told us all about the property and her adorable farm animals. Do not hesitate to book. So many memories were made! 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The listing perfectly describes this location, and the pictures are spot-on. Beautifully decorated. Kitchen is well-appointed with nice cookware and, miracle of miracles, nice, heat-resistant cooking utensils for that cookware. I liked the Norwex cloths in the kitchen and bathroom, and the provided shampoo was so yummy-smelling. Sarah is a great host, very responsive and helpful. She gives clear communication about check out and general expectations. (Thank you for offering a way to recycle!) Our kids really enjoyed spending a little time with the host's daughter as well. She introduced them to all the animals and was just as hospitable as her mom!

This was a sweet spot near the park and walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants! We had two outdoor areas of sitting to read with plenty of privacy. I was a great stay!

What an absolute treat to stay at the Cottage at Whitehall. We had such a lovely time, we stayed an extra day! Ty & Susie are gracious hosts and we were so excited to get a tour of the mansion and explore the grounds. The private beach at the back of the cottage is phenomenal, please take the canoe out - or even go for a swim. The sand is silky and soft, it was like a giant swimming pool nearly all to yourself. My husband enjoyed the canoe immensely (the waves scare me, so it wasn’t too much for me / but if you canoe out on the Meredith River it’s much calmer). If you fish - bring your fishing gear!! (Check local laws first, of course) Absolutely do not hesitate to book here if you have the chance, highly recommended 😍

This place is pure bliss. I rented it for a girls weekend and we loved everything about this beautiful and unique space. We spent the evening enjoying the clear night sky at the fire pit, brunch in Middleburg and dinner in Marshall. Beautiful linens, bathrooms and comfortable beds. This place is SPECIAL. Thank you- we’ll be back.

We rented 3 of the buildings (The Barn, The House, and The Loft) at Legacy Manor for bridesmaids and close friends for our daughter's wedding weekend. Each rental space was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT and having them together on the same property enabled the full group to gather in the "comfort of home." Every aspect of the spaces was top-notch, thoughtfully created, and well crafted. The bedrooms and bathrooms were luxurious. The kitchens and common areas in the Barn and House are huge. The fireplace in the barn is beyond huge, and a great place to gather. There is a wonderful outdoor fire pit too. The support from Ahna and Gideon was OUTSTANDING. We could not be happier and we highly recommend this property, especially for reunions and large gatherings. (I'll post this same review for each of the rental spaces that we used).

We defaulted into this Airbnb after a different Airbnb cancelled our reservation. We stayed for one night with our young family. Lots to do for kids. Beds and linens were very clean and nice. I do question if the carpet was vacuumed because I didn’t see any vacuum lines on the longer carpet but the floors felt clean. Great one night stop for us. Great price! We would stay again!

Anne’s Carriage House apartment is truly a gem. This was a return visit for me and my friend’s Girl’s Trip. Hard to imagine improving on excellence but it was the case. The accommodations are tasteful and charming inside— well appointed, super clean and plenty of space. The kitchenette was spotless and well appointed with items for our use. We could prepare a nice breakfast before going out to the many local sites and attractions nearby. With the rainy weather we encountered on our trip, the dryer came in particularly handy. The setting is just as wonderful— Anne’s garden, and the meadows and pastures nearby provide a peaceful tranquility along with quiet and privacy. Anne is a wonderful host. When an unfortunate event happened to my car, she was caring and supportive, and let us stay a bit longer to address the follow up. Her restaurant suggestions were spot-on too! She always responded promptly and thoughtfully. I would happily rebook Anne’s place and hope to return some day soon

We had a really lovely weekend stay at Michele’s apartment. The location was great for visiting Shenandoah national park and restaurants and shops in Front Royal. Super peaceful woodsy surroundings too. We appreciated our host’s many recommendations in the digital guide and in the apartment. Would gladly stay again.

This was the perfect weekend getaway! Deena and Hearst were so hospitable and friendly. Their property and the apartment is beautiful and very peaceful. Deena really made sure to think of everything one would need in the apartment. My little boy had a blast! He loved the pool, helping feed the animals and ride the pony. I can't wait to come back again!

I really like this place, and it’s really convenient for me since it has a large driveway.

We loved our stay at the barn. The location was beautiful and the place was very nice and comfortable. Easy drive to many restaurants and activities. The kittens and cats were so cute and friendly (the home is pet free, no worries). Would definitely stay again if back in the area.

We are so grateful to have found this wonderful spot for our girls' trip! We were all from out-of-town and had an amazing time in Charlottesville. Linda's place was set on a stunning with chickens, horses, fruit trees, and more! If you're looking to escape from the city to a serene, agrarian location, look no further. The barn is one giant space (making it tricky if multiple are taking work calls at the same time, for example) and the perfect space for four people. The two beds in the loft are quite small so best for children or petite folks. The interior of the space was so well-decorated and comfortable.

There is not a better located Airbnb in Middleburg. Perfect location to wineries and downtown. The house is bright and comfortable - a great spot for a getaway with friends or another couple. My only ding is the sulfur smell in the water. Bring some bottled water if that will bother you.
