Beachfront holiday rentals in Potomac River

We loved this stay! The lite house was very nice and renovated, while still maintaining original structure. The porches all around were great and the view from the master bedroom was stunning. Easy walk to small private beach. Town is about a 10 minute drive. We dined at Woodys and the Wellwood and they were both tasty!

Cannot give enough stars to this property and hosts!!! What’s a paradise on the Bay. The hosts ensured our stay was stress free, comfortable and that we knew all about the location. The property has some of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. Linens were high quality and the cabin is spotless! The extra little design features just made it FUN! We spent a lot of time on the deck, in the hot tub, and at the fire pit! The neighborhood is peaceful and the neighbors are so kind and welcoming! Don’t forget to hang out on the dock and definitely walk down to the beach! We will see this property again next year and cannot wait to book it!

Glenn is a great host. Friendly, helpful, flexible. Wonderful lawn that goes down to the river. Canoe and kayaks available. Fire pit with lots of free wood. Well equipped kitchen. Very quiet. We’d go back anytime.

T’s place was absolute perfection! It was beautiful, tastefully decorated and the homemade muffins and cookies were amazing! She and John were so lovely and accommodating. Relaxing on the dock on the river was a sublime experience as well! I really can’t say enough about my time spent there and if I’m ever in the area again I will definitely be staying at T’s! Why would you stay anywhere else!?

Second time staying at one of the cottages and can’t wait to come back! The area is so peaceful and serene - great DC getaway. If you enjoy hearing just the bay waves crashing and birds, beautiful sunsets, and panoramic views even from inside look no further.

This is my second time staying at this cottage. The location is beautiful, the private beach is great for kids, and all the welcome gifts and fresh flowers are a friendly touch. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, and the two bedrooms made for a comfortable stay for my family of four. We enjoyed the Fisherman’s Museum in Reedsville and the local coffee, Fawn’s. Northern Neck is a lovely area and everyone we ran into the whole weekend was incredibly friendly.

Keith’s water view cottage is so beautiful and peaceful. My husband and I had a lovely long weekend stay with our little dog. Even with the storms that passed through the bay we felt extremely safe and cozy throughout our stay. Keith was very responsive and flexible with checkin /checkout. Would definitely stay again!! The area and view are beautiful and the home's decor is welcoming. The home was very comfortable for our family group and had a VERY well-stocked kitchen. The master bed was VERY comfortable as were the rest of the beds. My husband and I slept well. We all felt at home. MJ was very responsive when I had questions and communicated about the property in clear, concise language. The host provided many outdoor recreation opportunities, which included paddleboards, kayaks, and life jackets. There was a nice sized pool but we were visiting out of season so we did not use it. The exercise room downstairs has a lot of equipment. We all enjoyed our time together. Our family is asking to come back again next year. Thanks for a great stay!

We found Paul’s home very comfortable and accommodating. Paul was accessible when we reached out to him and he communicated well with us. It was a very nice location with a fantastic view of the bay, as we hoped for.

We brought our dog along for a beach adventure at The Laughing King. We had an amazing time and MJ was a wonderful host. We stayed in the little hi eymoon cottage and it was quaint and well-appointed. The loft ladder was a bit tricky but once you got up there the bed was super comfortable! We enjoyed walking around and exploring Cape Charles (just a quick 15/20 minute car ride away with plenty of free street parking around town) but our favorite day was playing out on the private sand bar with our dog. We all had a blast on the sandbar and next time will pack a lunch and stay out longer! The property itself was secluded, quiet and private. Perfect for sitting on the porch with coffee watching the tide roll in. They had paddle boards and kayaks to use in the calm backwaters as well as a fire pit and a nice pool. The reviews about MJs wonderful breakfasts were spot on - his quiche was superb. Overall we had a wonderful time at The Laughing King and we would highly recommend it

My family and I stayed here for a week for our family vacation. We are a group of 8 (6 adults and 2 kids) and there was plenty of room for all of us. We barely left the house because with the beautiful view, dock, beach area, canoe, kayaks, hot tub, game room/ library, corn hole, and fire pit we all had plenty to keep us entertained. Everyone loved Mary & Shelly’s place, and it provided the perfect space for us to enjoy the river and each other’s company!

We had so much at Anne and Neil’s place. It was more beautiful in person than in the photos. The furniture and antiques were so beautifully appointed. We had lots of fun as a family enjoying their pool, searching for shark teeth and shells on their beach, and getting on the water in their boats. Lots of fun. We all wish we could have stayed longer.

This home was the perfect way to spend a long weekend with our family and our dog! We enjoyed every amenity (the pool, the beach, the paddleboards, the sauna, the cold plunge, the grill, and even the steam shower!) and had a great time venturing into the nearby town. The home is well taken care of and you can tell that a lot of thought went into its set up. We'll definitely be back!

The house was spotless, cozy, and filled with thoughtful touches that made us feel instantly at home. One of the highlights of our trip was going kayaking (my first time)—an unforgettable experience, my family loved it, even my 3-year-old. Pam and Rick had great suggestions for local activities, and their tips helped make the whole outing smooth and enjoyable. The peaceful setting of their home was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We loved sitting out on the patio in the evenings, especially after running after our 2 toddlers. We’re so thankful for this memorable stay and highly recommend their home to anyone visiting Montrose and we would love to return someday!

Perfect Lake Side Vacation Spot!!! My friends and I spent the weekend and we absolutely loved it! The home is beautiful and the surroundings are so serine. Perfect place to get away and spend pleasurably days participating in outdoor activities like fishing, grilling and watching the sunset. We loved our stay so much we are already planning our next trip to the wonderful spot! Tim is an amazing host! Check in and check out were a breeze, he kindly checked in on us and was always prepared to help facilitate an enjoyable stay. I couldn’t recommend this listing any higher :)

Last flight out was perfect for our family of four. The location was absolutely stellar, with its own private beach. The water was calm and everyone loved swimming. The furnishings were all clean and new. We spent almost all of our time out on the huge patio, which had plenty of seating. Brandon thought of everything and was so responsive anytime we had a question while we were there. Definitely recommend and hope to come back one day.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful home! The place was spotless and very well maintained, and we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. There were plenty of activities to enjoy as a family, and we created some unforgettable memories here. The host was incredibly friendly and responded quickly to any questions we had, which made everything even more enjoyable. The surroundings are absolutely stunning, and the sunset views were nothing short of magical. We would love to come back again!

Loved this quaint tiny house. It was quiet and scenic and a 15 minute drive to Colonial Beach waterfront and restaurants. Lorie is fabulous host, communicative and friendly. We had a great time!
