Family-friendly holiday rentals in Rabun County

If you want peace and quiet, this is the place to come to in the north Georgia mountains of Sky Valley. Beautiful views especially at sunset, hearing the chapel bells ringing, watching the humming birds fly around during the day and at night the bats, and friendly neighbors. The unit was roomy and comfortable. There were a few light bulbs burned out upon arrival and our host was very responsive and a maintenance gentleman was there soon to replace them. Lots of local activities and great restaurants in nearby Highlands and Franklin, NC and Clayton, GA. For walkers the Sky Valley golf course closes at 7 p.m. and it's great walking or jogging around the beautiful course.

Gorgeous mountain retreat is a perfect way to describe this property. I found everything in the description of this property to be true. In my opinion Karla’s description was very humble and we found the property to be much better than expected. Entire family celebrated my father’s 90th birthday, and found the house plenty spacious for all of us. With full living space on the main level and downstairs we never felt crowded.The house was immaculate and very well stocked with items that were above and beyond any other property I’ve ever stayed in right down to the firewood. Directions were easy to follow and communication was always done in a timely fashion. If you want to relax, do nothing, enjoy the views this is the place for you. If you want to be active, go hiking, play golf, tennis, etc. this is the place for you. If you want to grill out and watch football with the gang, this place is for you. So if you have a large group, and you are looking for a mountain getaway, I recommend that you stop looking and book this property NOW!!

Our family had an AMAZING trip! Definitely the cleanest Airbnb we’ve stayed in. Plenty of games to entertain everyone and absolutely beautiful place all around. We definitely will be back.

Was slightly concerned by a long rental agreement that had to be signed prior to arrival. However the cabin was nice and clean, and easy to get into. Beautiful views of the lake from the porch and hot tub. Enough cookware to make basic meals. The property is a long ways from town so come prepared with what you need to save multiple shopping trips. It was just what we were looking for, would stay again.

The cabin was fabulous! It was just as described with a great view, easy to access from the main road, and bery clean. I highly recommend this cabin and plan to book here again in the future.

A lovely cabin for a great getaway in the woods. Great location near Helen. The cabin has all the essentials, including your own priviate hot tub on the deck. Great shower and the kitchen is fully equipped. Lots of on-site activities (i.e., horse riding, ATV, zip line). We had a fantastic time. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We went horse riding and zip lining and absolutely loved both. Only drawback is the WiFi, which is not reliable enought for watching TV. However, this wasn't a huge problem for us as we wanted to unplug and get away anyway. We stayed four nights and would definitely recommend Sunburst Adventures for a great vacation.

Christopher's place was beautiful, immaculate and incredibly peaceful. Every square inch of space is intentionally designed which simply adds to the gracefulness of the place. The fire-fueled hot tub is one of a kind and transports you back to a more rustic time and I used it all week. Perhaps the best part of all was falling asleep each night to the sound of the creek. Highly recommend.

This place is a wonderful homey cabin in the woods. The photos are not up to date and there has been upgrades to furniture. Everything you need for a great relaxing stay!

The house and location was everything we had hoped for! Absolutely adorable ranch secluded in the woods. Super comfortable master bed and couch. We really enjoyed the fire pit out back as well. Walking distance to downtown Clayton was a huge perk. We will definitely be back!

Scotty's cabin is fantastic! The rooms were impeccably clean. The kitchen had every utensil you could ever want. We really enjoyed the game room/man cave. It was a big hit! The cabin is a the very top of the mountain and has the best scenic drive. We would definitely recommend this place to others!

What a wonderful property! We visited for our honeymoon and had such a lovely time. Spent a good chunk of our time in the loft, listening to the rain on the tin roof! The forest behind the house is beautiful. I learned that I really love baths while here, as it was a bit too chilly to use the outdoor shower. Didn't mind that at all and it was really nice to scrub down and soak in the tub. We loved how getting to Foxfire and Tallulah Gorge was very quick from this location. White Birch Provisions in Clayton is incredible and you should visit if you stay here. Overall was a fantastic time and we are so thankful we could experience this beautiful, magical place! <3

We loved the place everything was nice and cleaned we loved the hot tubs just be prepared to fill your tank up before u come to Helen or near by it was fantastic and she was definitely great

Felt like home. Beds were EXTREMELY comfortable. The lived in -rustic atmosphere was very laid back and relaxing. Owner was very friendly and accommodating in all ways It was nice to stay at an Air B n B that was not cluttered with too many decorations and not enough practical items or closet space. Dogs loved it. We literally had everything we needed. Without even meeting owners, place really felt like family. I extended my stay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🥰

Cottontail Cottage was the perfect place to relax in the mountains! Very private, great places to walk nearby, and gorgeous mountain/countryside views! The cottage was comfortable and cozy, especially with the screened in porch. We had a rainy day during our stay and didn’t mind spending the day at the cottage one bit! Peter & Debbie were lovely and accommodating, you can tell they truly care about their guests’ comfort. Would definitely recommend choosing Cottontail Cottage for your stay in the mountains!

The Lake house was one of the quietest and most peaceful air b-and-b's we have stayed at. The new back deck is the highlight of the lake cabin. The rest of the cabin is fully equipped and functional, but we hardly left the back deck. With its fenced in area and gate was perfect for the dog. The kayaks and dock are a nice addition. It is located close to good dining at Micas restaurant and Whiteside brewery. We came for the hiking in Panthertown area. We will be back again.

An absolute gem of a cabin. The pictures didn't do it justice. The cabin itself was stunning and homey. Lovely kitchen with all the necessities. The view was incredible! I don't think we could have found a better place.

We stayed at Lonnie’s place to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday. We are a family of 6, with teenagers of different ages. Lonnie’s place was clean, homey and felt like home. Great restaurants in the area - about 15 min drive in any direction. Place was a bit harder to find at night, but provided directions were perfect and we did not have any trouble at all. Grocery store is a short drive, made our life easier. The location is beautiful - the view of the lake is magical and surrounding area feels very safe. We used the house as a base for hiking trips -big variety of options 10 months or 40 min away. In 4 days we feel we just scratched the surface. Also close to kayaking, tubing and other water sports. Tv downstairs was easy to operate and wifi signal was great - I was able to log into zoom calls for work. Inside the house, the supplies in the kitchen are great: plenty of plates, glasses, cups and cutlery. Also many spices and condiments. Thank you - it was a great time!

We had a wonderful stay and felt right at home. Our host even stocked the fridge with breakfast foods for us!

This was a great house to stay at. Very comfortable and home like. Loved the view and the large deck. Had everything we needed including toys for kids. Good area, near lots of stuff to do including using the resort amenities, restaurants, waterfalls and shopping. Would stay again.

Wow! What an awesome home! Natalie was so accommodating and quick to respond! When we arrived, we were surprised at how much bigger the house was in person! The kitchen and amazing screened in porch is where we spent the majority of our time! The beautiful Lake Jocassee Is only about 40 mins away and definitely worth the drive! Thank you so much Natalie!!! We hope to be back for another friendcation next year!!!

The location of this beautiful house is in a mountain nature preserve. Simply amazing. Like staying in a national park.

Lisa's Lodge was wonderful; just perfect for the two of us. It was so nice to take a dip in the lovely pool, sit by the the beautiful lake and take walks around the grounds and up the road. Proximity to Anderson yielded a couple of good restaurants and it was also an easy trip to Greenville and its charms. Lisa is very nice and her son offered help in case we needed it during a rainstorm. What a happy experience! We both want to go back!
