Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in River Great Ouse

Our host’s mother met us at the door of the lovely manor house with a warm welcome. Inviting us in we felt taken back in time with the beautiful and interesting antiques, and rustic ceiling beams, inset stones around spacious curtained windows, cozy nooks and surprises to enjoy as she shared stories about all the history and love that has gone into making this place special! Our bedroom was lovely and spacious with a quaint window seat and an antique wardrobe. The bath had a claw foot tub (still with modern shower attachments). Another pleasant surprise was the fragrant rose and flower garden that she tends herself and the row of topiaries. There is a path to enjoy a shaded pond beside the green, peaceful pasture. We ended our stay with a lovely breakfast with the best toast ever, made on the stove griddle and served with fresh butter, marmalade, plus cereal and fruit, coffee and yogurt. She also sat and shared wonderful stories. Please visit -you’ll love it and her!

Joanne was so lovely and accommodating. We arrived earlier than check-in as we were going to Silverstone that day and she had everything ready for us. Everything was spotless, well-decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were very much appreciative of the great breakfast spread each morning (pastries, toast, fruit, granola - Joanne offered extras if we wanted). Thanks so much for the amazing stay!

Janet and her husband run an excellent establishment. Attention to detail was really good from the communication we had before arriving, organising a taxi and then tea and cake in the garden! The breakfast was yummy and again service warm and welcoming. Highly rate the stay!

Had a lovely time at Lettuce Lodge. The setting is beautiful and we liked being able to walk to a pub. Access to Rutland Water is easy on foot or by bike. We hope to return!

I think I've said it before but its a home away from home. Maggie and Robert are very caring and kind.

I’d give Dawn & her family home a fabulous 6 stars! The room was better than expected. Decor and comfy beds. Attention to detail such as water beside the bed and fresh towels. Dawn was proactive with her communication, whereas I was a little rushed off my feet with my trip and forgot the finer details. I appreciated Dawn was on the case and made sure I knew how to get in and so on. The next morning Dawn was very welcoming and offered refreshments before checking out Thank you soo much to Dawn and her family for being superb hosts. I will be 100% coming back and cannot recommend this lovely air BnB more!

The location is great - convenient if arriving on train, near good restaurants, and easy to get downtown. Diep is very friendly and available.

I had a very comfortable couple of days. This is a lovely little place and within walking distance of both the station and the town I would definitely recommend to others

Larissa’s cottage is in a dreamy idyllic setting and beautiful. I had a wonderful stay there for a few days where I was able to slow down, recharge and gain inspiration for my travels back home to the hustle and bustle of the city. Larissa is a very sweet lady who is super helpful, makes great company and made me feel super at home. Hope to visit back again! It’s in the middle of the countryside but I was able to get Uber’s without a problem and also used “elephant cars” taxi service who operate in the area.

Fantastic AirBnB - clean and just as listed. Lovely and quiet in a beautiful garden setting.

We struck gold with finding Geoff and Sue. We do not have enough good things to say about this wonderful couple. They have gone over and above our expectations. We could not recommend them more highly.

Hillie was a wonderful, helpful hostess. She went above and beyond, providing us with whatever we wanted for breakfast, at times to suit us, and generally being a super host. She gave advice, booked restaurants, and even gave my husband a lift one morning. Her eclectic house is full of treasures, and in an enchanting spot, full of character and very comfortable. We had a wonderful trip to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, with Hillie’s place being a great location for easy access. Hillie’s hospitality made it even more memorable and pleasant.

Had a fantastic stay when attending Reggaeland Concert at National Bowl MK. Prior to arriving, Amanda was great with tips on local taxis getting to and from the venue. Accomadation itself was spotless exactly as the photos with with good supply of tea coffee & biscuits in the room. Shower was fantastic in ensuite bathroom. Breakfast what can we say, we had 4 excellent pached eggs each morning. Had great conversation each morning with both Amanda & Glenn even learning the history of the Old School and the village. Would definatley look to booking again when attending future events in MK

Lovely, homely and well kept B and B. Everything was spotless and very accommodating.

Dial House and hosts was all just perfect/friendly. breakfast choice and quality was great. cafe menu during day was great. the whole setup was everything we wanted. 3mins walk into downham market itself. good base for visiting local area. we were attending 2 concerts in Thetford Forest. would absolutely stay/visit again.

Louise was a very warm and welcoming host. From the get go, we felt completely at home; Louise is great company and ensured we had a wonderful stay, with great food in a comfortable environment.

I was attending a workshop at Kings Cliffe. The Cross Keys Inn was perfect for my visit. It was walking distance to the workshop, I was able to have a drink and dinner at the Inn in the evenings. The room was quiet, the bed comfy and the bathroom recently renovated. All the staff were very welcoming. I’d definitely stay again.

Fabulous two night stay over the Grand Prix weekend. Amanda was incredibly welcoming and nothing was too much trouble . Amanda and her family made us feel at home immediately. Beautiful location and home . A thoroughly enjoyable stay with everything you could possibly need .
