My place is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Alpena. There are a variety of restaurants and bars all within 1/4 mile. Lake Huron is my front yard, with tennis and basketball courts available for public use. The Alpena bandshell is a hop and skip from my house; every Saturday there’s a concert in the summer. There are two public beaches within a mile. And you can see masts from sailboats out my front window as the boat harbor is my neighbor.

2nd Retreat

This bright and quaint historical little house is one block from the downtown district. This 2nd retreat has a charming enclosed front porch for sitting, a quiet serene space to enjoy your morning coffee or glass of wine, to read a book or just to sit and relax. We are in walking distance to a great Ice cream shop , the local winery, a quaint coffee shop, Mango's for margarita's and end the evening with the local movie theater. Enjoy the small town dynamic.

Please read entire listing before booking. Our place is a small 600 sq ft. cabin with a glamping tent located in a quiet neighborhood outside of town. We have deeded beach access to a sugar sand beach on lake Huron (which is rare) within a 10 min walk from our cabin. It is shared amongst the neighborhood. Perfect for couples or a small family that loves the outdoors and exploring new places.

We had an amazing stay at The Little White Church in Alpena! The space was beautifully remodeled—everything felt brand new and exactly like the photos. It was perfect for our large group, spotless, and super comfortable. The location was great too, with lots of great restaurants and things to do just a short walk away. Everyone we met in town was warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

This is my group's second time staying at Beth's place. Every other year me, my dad, and a couple friends drive up to Michigan to fish. The house is situated perfect for us. The dock makes it easy for us to keep the boats right there at the back door so we don't have to worry about anyone messing with our stuff. They've installed outlets out back, making it easy on us to charge the batteries. They even have a spot across the road to keep our trailers. Beth is always quick to respond. She and her husband and great hosts, and we never have to worry about anything. Everything is exactly as described which is why we knew booking this place would suit all of our needs. If you're wanting a great place to stay on long lake, this is it.

Matt and Dayna’s place was beautiful and cozy. Linens and bed were extremely comfortable. They provided everything needed to enjoy our weekend stay along with coffee and some snacks! They were very responsive and we appreciated their local guide book. Had an amazing stay along with a canoe trip down the Au Sable. Thank you so much for sharing your place. Loved looking at all the work your family put into Blue Fern from your before and after photos.
