Places to stay in Licciana Nardi
The "Charm" of stone walls meets the "Comfort" for up to 5 people. A luxury suite with a complete kitchenette. The patio, surrounded by nature, will give you privacy and relax. Your holiday house will be in the hamlet of Fornoli in Lunigiana, a region still genuine, with a rich food tradition, away from the touristy beaten path. Still, it's an ideal base for day trips to many points of interest: Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Lerici, Carrara, Pisa e Lucca, Parma, Genova...
The apartment has its independent entrance and it consists of a large living room, a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchenette and a large patio connected to a little garden. It can comfortably accommodate up to 4 adults (and a toddler) in its romantic and charming atmosphere. Free parking is a few meters away. EQUIPMENT You will find a nice kitchenette, complete with appliances (fridge, microwave, dishwasher) and all you need to prepare breakfast: mocha espresso maker, American coffee maker, French press, kettle, and toaster. There's a desk in the living room. WIFI connection is available all over the apartment and in the patio. The bathroom has a shower with hydromassage jets. Washing machine, hairdryer, iron, linen, and towels: we want you to be sure you'll find anything you'll need at any time of the day. In the patio, you will find a complete garden set, ideal to enjoy, in a panoramic and secluded corner, the sun and the peace of the Lunigianese forest. BBQ in an open-air stone oven available. BEDS The main bed is a very comfortable queen-size with orthopedic memory foam mattress and there are two single regular beds: one in the antechamber and one in the living room. We provide a folding baby bed for 0-4 years old. Linens are provided and changed, upon request, every 7 nights.
We chose Lunigiana for its strategic location with easy reach of many of the most beautiful places in Tuscany, Liguria and Emilia Romagna. We are at an hour's drive from the airports of Pisa, Parma, and Genoa and one hour and a half from Florence's. The place is wonderful if you want a romantic getaway to enjoy your free time in total relax, but it's also perfect if you're looking for a base for your excursions. In five minutes you can reach the train station of Aulla where you can catch trains that will allow you to comfortably visit the wonderful "Cinque Terre" in as little as 25 minutes. In less than half an hour you can reach Lerici and the Gulf of Poets, or the sandy beaches of Marina di Carrara. In forty minutes you can hit Portovenere in the north-west, Forte Dei Marmi and the Versilia coast in the south or visit the marble quarries of Carrara, in the south-east.
  • Very good stay with welcoming, warm and responsive hosts. Clean and atypical accommodation. Very pleasant attention and exchange. To advice. And as a bonus they speak very good French.

  • We spent a romantic New Year's Eve as a couple in the house of Silvia and Fabio. Everything far exceeded our expectations, which were not few! The house is simply wonderful, for those who love natural materials, silence and attention to detail. it is equipped with all comforts and is impeccably clean, difficult to imagine better for a romantic getaway !! We will not forget the afternoons and evenings spent in the warmth of the stove and coffee in the sun on the balcony facing the woods. Silvia and Fabio are two fantastic hosts, they welcomed us warmly and were always more than helpful, their precious advice allowed us to explore an area unknown to us but rich in history, art, nature and food and wine delights. The location is strategic and Lunigiana is an authentic land, out of the tourist itineraries and for lovers of simplicity it is a perfect place. Highly recommended, we can't wait to go back !!!

  • This Tuscan paradise is a destination in itself! Silvia and Fabio could not have done more to make us feel welcome. A car is necessary here to visit all the small towns in the area but we decided not to drive at the last minute. You can take a train to La Spezia and then a quick train ride to Aulla and arrange a taxi. It was all very easy especially for a day visiting the Cinque Terre region. But this place is magical if you want to take a break from city life and just live in a small Italian village for a few days. You can even order groceries online (Conad) and get your taxi to stop on your way up to Fornoli - it literally took us 2 minutes to do. Once you get to Silvia and Fabio's you can relax, cook, drink wine on the terrace take a hike through the village and just enjoy the quiet. Silvia and Fabio are there to help you with any needs. There were so many personal touches and considerations, it's very obvious Silvia and Fabio understand every travellers needs. Look no further, this is the place for you.

  • We had an amazing stay at Silvia and Fabio. A cozy little house, tastefully decorated. Silvia and Fabio gave us a good idea for our discovery of the region. We thank them again and we recommend this Airbnb 100%!

    Gaia2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay we had. The flat was well appointed with everything we could possibly need. Even a hairdryer and flat iron! Silvia was especially attentive and helpful, with excellent suggestions for restaurants and places to visit nearby. Would absolutely love to come back and stay again!

    Samantha2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • From the minute I viewed the pictures of Silvia’s and Fabio’s home, I knew it was someplace I wanted to stay. The home is authentic and charming and looks just like the pictures. The best part of our stay may have actually been our hosts themselves. Silvia and Fabio are lovely people who care about their guest’s comfort—they left flowers and chocolates for our arrival, were always available when we needed them and generous with their recommendations and time. (Mauro’s for a nearby dinner, was terrific, by the way. If you have the time, sign up for Fabio’s music event; it was the perfect welcome to our Fornoli visit with wine, food and music, performed beautifully by Fabio, our host, with explanations of each of the song’s origins. We loved it! If ever I return to Italy, I would definitely stay here again. Gracie Silvia and Fabio!

  • Silvia and Fabio are great hosts. The location of their retreat in Fornoli, a medieval village from where you can see the Apennines and the Alps, allows for easy access to main touristic areas, such as Cinque Terre, Florence, Portovenere, Lucca, as well as to the colorful, off the beaten path areas that call for hiking and exploration. You will need a car to have access to the main thoroughfares. Aulla train station is a few minutes away and from there you can connect to La Spezia, an important hub for public transportation. We stayed in Fornoli for two weeks and felt we could have stayed longer! A lot of beauty to enjoy, a lot of history to learn! The cottage is well appointed and clean. You will find everything you need, including a very detailed guide for visitors. Even though Silvia, Fabio and their beautiful boy took a vacation themselves and were away for a few days, they stayed connected with us, answered our questions and made helpful recommendations. A great experience. We miss the good coffee!

  • I felt very well with Cristina. Parking in front of the house, the breakfast was rich (eggs from own hens, honey from own production) and the room was clean and comfortable. Cristina is very helpful and gives good tips! Can recommend it 100%.

  • Delightful and comfortable place to stay. Peaceful and full of charm, Cristina was the most welcoming host I've met in Italy so far.

    Stefan2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hospitality, Cristina was very kind. The house is in a beautiful green area a stone's throw from La Spezia and the Cinque Terre. Very good dinner in the farmhouse a stone's throw away and a very nice outdoor breakfast that was prepared for us. Thanks for everything

    Ruben2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night at Christina. It was very last minute she was very hospitable. Christina and her little niece welcomed us and made us feel very comfortable. They gave us an amazing tip for dinner and the next morning they made us breakfast. Christina and her niece are wonderful warm hearted people and we are very happy we had the chance to meet them and stay at their house. The room and bathroom are very clean, so is the house. We would definitely come back if we are ever around the area again. Thank you Christina!

    Jonas2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located near Aulla Railway Station. If you want to come, give up public transportation. Please contact the landlord directly to ask her to pick you up. Public transportation is not very developed, but it is very suitable for people who come to the Cinque Terre to live. It is very cost-effective. The landlord's wife is very nice and very enthusiastic. The house is very sentimental. Except for the lack of wifi and traffic, since I come to live in this place, I will experience the life that has been away from digitalization.

  • Cristina ed il suo marito mi hanno accolto come un familiare, sono stati gentilissimi, la villa è immersa in un oasi naturale, è stata un'esperienza unica ed indimenticabile, consigliato a tutti, un giorno ci ritornerò. Thanks to Cristina and her husband for their hospitality, I feel like I am in my own home. Their villa is in a paradise, listening to the sound of birds every day, the only experience, recommend everyone. One day I must come back to live for a while.

    Lei2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Cristina was a very special experience: her kindness and availability made me feel really 'cured', with a lot of fresh egg in the morning and even sharing a plate of pork that allowed me to stay all the day to take the sun, surrounded by silence and beautiful hills. In the evening I even saw 4 shooting stars in 10 minutes .... thanks to the little light pollution of this area. Very good!

    Danila2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cristina’s house is beautiful and set in the most stunning surroundings. Do not expect much nearby, but this is somewhere to stay to escape a little bit. Cristina telephoned a local agtiturismo for me to eat at. I had an amazing meal - as much as I could eat (and drink!) for €28. Cristina was very helpful and also made me a lovely breakfast in the morning. Her two cats are incredibly friendly! 😺😺

  • Mario was promptly responding and provided guidance prior to our arrival. He was awaiting us in the apartment which is located in the centre of small mountain village - complex of old houses with special atmosphere, well renovated and maintained. In the apartment we found everything we needed. After our mountain hikes we enjoyed rest with enough sunshine in the backyard equipped with garden table, grill and rest chairs and decorated with many pots of blooming flowers. Just access to the bedrooms at ground floor via steep chairs might be difficult for people with reduced mobility. Amazing palce and respectful host. Highly recommended. Thanks!

  • The stay at 'La corte' was more than I expected. Environment collected, perfumes and furnishings of the past. All perfectly in line with the outside. The garden is a gem. Mario welcomed us with tomatoes from the garden and an inviting tart. Recommended for all those who want to switch off in an area where nature takes up its spaces. Definitely to be repeated in the chestnut period!

    Anna2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very hospitable Mario, we really enjoyed our vacation. It was a nice place and it was very clean. We hiked a lot. The host suggested excursions and festivals which were worth a visit. We'll come again

    Tibor2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We received a very nice welcome from Mario and Debra. We were able to enjoy Debra's homemade pie on the table. The house is comfortable clean and we could appreciate the use of the barbecue. There is also a beautiful municipal swimming pool open directly in the village. A village full of charm of the surroundings for hiking and a pretty river at half an hour. We had a very good stay in this area.

    Denis2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you fancy visiting a unique place on vacation this is the perfect place. On the one hand, it is an ideal starting point for hiking, visiting nearby towns or even on a trip to the Cinque Terre. The village in which the apartment is located is an unusual place, you get the impression that you live in an open-air museum but with all modern amenities. Just staying in the village, on a well-maintained and full of flowers terrace, is a time of relaxation in unusual circumstances. The apartment has all comfortable, pleasant bedding, fresh towels, a set of necessary cosmetics, but not only. The hosts surprised us very pleasantly with a large amount of fruit, water in the fridge or toasted bread in case we had nothing with us but also a delicious cake baked for us by wife Mario. Be sure to take advantage of the restaurant's offer, which is next to the village, we ate there one of the best meals in Italy. Mario is a very joyful, friendly and helpful person and we were very pleased to meet him. Thank you Mario for wonderful hospitality! We recommend this place with a pure heart and pleasure!

    Artur2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, very welcome with even a home-baked cake! We have made 2 long walks of which 1 From the cottage to Prado del ferro (114). Various walks are also possible at passo del lagastrello, but then only a 40-minute drive. In the village is a swimming pool that we could use, complete with sun beds! And there is also a possibility to have breakfast outdoors. In short: beautiful accommodation, peaceful surroundings and secluded

    Marian2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We have two weeks holiday in Apella. Mario is the most wonderful and generous host that you can think of, has not only provided us with great tips on Lunigiana, but also always with fresh vegetables from his garden. The house is located in a small medieval mountain village, is lovingly decorated in detail and has a large terrace with many flowers. Through the thick stone walls, the bedroom was so cool that you could sleep well even in midsummer. Apella is a good starting point for hiking in the National Park as well as for many trips to the enchanting towns of Lunigiana or to the Ligurian coast. A car and fun driving on the small (but paved) mountain roads is an advantage. For us a completely successful stay.

    Ulrike2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mario is a really hospitable host, who does everything to make your stay a really nice experience. The house is well equipped, but for lunch or dinner you can also do the walk to the restaurant near by. We had a lovely stay in the quiet environment!

  • We are a group of 10 from all over the world that like to travel together, 8 different nationalities. Our target was Tuscany this time, and luckily we found Ileria and her place in Quarazzana. Fantastic place with lots of opportunities for recreational activities, from mountain hiking, visiting the small old village, in the mountains or on the coast, beaching or foremost to relax and enjoy Italian wine and food. We were out of our Shanghai, Singapore, Amsterdam or Hamburg live, into an ancient and authentic 16th century village in Italy and we all loved it it. Getting either advice and recommendations from Ilaria on how to enjoy the surrounding or cooking classes from the Italian chef Leonardo, we now know how to make Italian Ravioli, but to keep everyone happy we had to make Chinese dumplings also. This is a place you need to put on your bucket list for sure.

    Johann2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ilaria’s place was exactly what I was hoping for! It’s in a small village in the country and it is just beautiful! Ilaria is a wonderful host with excellent staff! The dinner they served us was amazing! Ilaria gave great suggestions of things to do and directions for how to get to places. We would definitely stay there again if we get a chance to be in Tuscany!

  • Those few days that we spent there were really special! The territory is very clean and comfortable. Atmosphere and all-in-all experience was unique. A team that works in B&B is great! Very friendly and gave us some advice for must-see places. Thank you very much!

  • An amazing property! Nine of us stayed for my 30th birthday and we couldn't have wished for a more beautiful place. Illaria was so friendly and helpful and organised a STUNNING meal for my birthday at a great price. Wonderful food, gorgeous surroundings and some very happy people! Even considering returning at another time.

    Sophie2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We travelled to Quarazzana with our children, aged 9 and 12. We all had a wonderful time, enjoying the medieval village in a forested, tranquil piece of Tuscany. Ilaria is lovely and helpful with travel tips. The dinners that were available, cooked by a chef were the best we had at any restaurant. The animals roaming the village were interesting and the pool area very pleasant and clean. The accommodations are so nice. Ancient and comfortable. Highly recommended.

    Kathryn2019-08-24T00:00:00Z

  • Beautiful old rectory in absolute peace! Angelo House is home to five apartments. In the garden is a great large pool, which is well maintained by Angelo. The little place is so pretty. The small village church can be seen far across the valley. At night you can see the stars. The nearby Fivizzano is a charming little town with everything needed: supermarket, bakery, restaurants and ice cream parlors. We liked it a lot. The communication with Angelo was very good.

  • Apartment surrounded by nature in a small village. It was easy to find it with the GPS about 100 km from Pisa. Excellent Angelo reception, apartment as expected: without degree claims but comfortable, clean and with everything you need. Great for relaxing, it was a pleasant discovery. We will certainly return.

  • House with stunningly beautiful views. In a quiet old village. My husband and child (4 years) stayed for one night. We all enjoyed it. The owner was very hospitable. We met at night at our request and drove with us to the house so that we would not get lost. In the kitchen left us fruit, water and a bottle of wine. We were very pleased. We are happy to stay with him again. Recommended.

A typical stone cottage up on a hill in front of big open spaces with a beautiful view of the Apuan Alps and surrounded by meadows and an oaks and chestnuts wood. 10 min driving from supermarkets, local restaurants and shops / 20 min driving from Fivizzano and other historical villages / 40 min driving from seaside locations such as Cinque Terre and Porto Venere. The house it has two floors: the ground floor is designated to storage, whereas the first floor, with its entrance, host the open space kitchen and living room. Here you can eat and relax in front of the fireplace and look at the Alps while drinking your espresso! Then it hosts two bedrooms, one mine and one for the guests (with two separate beds) facing sun almost all the day, one small studio with a vintage desk and a comfortable armchair to relax and write your thoughts. To conclude there is a corridor with some storage space and a communal bathroom that includes a bath tub / shower and a washing machine. Outside there is plenty of space for you to have walks, relax under the trees and eat outside under a grapevine pergola. In front of the house there is a small stone building designated to barn and cattleshed, because sometimes during the year we will have some animals like cows, horses and sheep to help to keep the land clean and fertile! If you want to have a break from the city, to get disconnected and experience the countryside life this is the place for you :) I hope to see you soon! Giorgio

  • Lovely private terrace area with incredible 180° view of this beautiful landscape. Very peaceful area and Lucia is a wonderful host. Having a car in this area is useful, as there aren't shops nearby - but that is all part of the charm!

  • Amazing place to stay, highly recommend! Room was very lovely and the view from the terrace was breathtaking. The village itself was charming and although it was a bit difficult to drive there (up the hill and curvy road), it was totally worth it, as the surroundings were amazing. With the exact address it was easy to find it thanks to google navigation. Lucia was the most incredible host and made us feel very welcome. We had some lovely conversations where she kindly shared interesting information about the local life and traditions, and useful tips about visiting the nearby attractions. This sure helped to make the trip more special. Hope to go back there some day.

  • The house was clean and beautiful. I love how they decorated the house. And I recommend trying their family-run restaurant. The food was very tasty and good. For some reason, I arrived very late. But the host was still waiting for me. That was very kind. And they showed me everything in the house. If you book this apartment. Just enjoy the stay and the house is definitely worth the money.

  • Lovely place with an amazing view of the mountains from the terrace. Lucia is a great host.

    Jacob2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the groundfloor apartment (with views towards the mountains and the valleys) for 8 days in July 2018. The house with the apartment is located up in the hills in the little village Olivola, (less than 10 minutes from the closest city Aulla). This is a lovely place for a couple or family who prefer to stay outside the city and be distant from the tourist hotels, and instead try out the Italian country-side life, yet still be relatively close to the many activities offered in the Ligurian- and southwest Toscana area. The apartment is connected to a garden with breathtaking views of mountains and green valleys. The apartment itself was very clean with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with large closets. On the hallway table we also found different kinds of tourist-guides and brochures including travel and restaurant tips which turned out to be very convenient. Lucia and her sweet mother provided an excellent service and was very considerable during our stay. This was our first visit to Italy, and we are forever greatful for the many memories from this cozy place! We are very eager for another visit:)

    Attila2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lucia's place is beautiful and spacious! She and her mother are very kind people and we loved all the cute cats in the garden! We were not sure if we should really go to Cinque Terre so she recommended us two nearby places (Pontremoli and Fosdinovo) which were extremely charming and worth a visit!

    Jukka2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfectly located, at the top of the mountain in a picturesque village. Place is spacious and clean, with a fully staffed kitchen, lovely living room on the first floor, and bedroom on the second floor. I with my wife especially enjoyed being in the perfectly maintained garden, which is beautiful by itself and has wonderful views of the surrounding mountain range. Especial thanks to wonderful host Lucia, who was very attentive and helpful in every regard. Highly recommend!

Tourists are drawn every year by these beautiful images they see in glossy magazines, travel guides and through film and television. Many visitors can be forgiven for thinking that Chianti, Siena and Florence encompasses all Tuscany has to offer, however this is not so, and although these areas are enchanting there is much more to discover. Lunigiana offers a truly unspoilt corner of Tuscany and an inspired destination for the Italian traveller. The most Northern tip which borders the colourful Gulf of the Poets. The nearby Versilia coast overflows with sea side charm and is within easy reach the impressive city of Lucca, rich with Italian architecture and culture. In order to really understand Tuscany it is essential to experience its many contrasts and only then will you discover its true spirit. Lunigiana is an area rich in history and tradition and set amidst magnificent scenery. The generous hospitality and relaxed pace to life make this a perfect destination for those wishing to escape the rush of modern life. The nearby Gulf of the Poets has attracted many writers, artists and film makers over the years. The quiet cosmopolitan coastline still retains its authenticity and charm. Excellent transport links provide easy accessibility to many of the centres of both Tuscany and Liguria. If you have a passion for Italy and a desire to explore the less beaten tracks, then Lunigiana will not fail to impress. The only way to appreciate all that the region has to offer is to see it with your own eyes. We are sure that after your visit this will be a place you find difficult to forget.
  • We were looking for a secluded and private place for holiday which we found here, but sadly the daily visits by owner and farmers is not so great. Especially when they stay for 2-3 hours at a time. This really takes away from the privacy. Otherwise, a great place for quiet times.

  • My family and I stayed at Antonella's place 5 nights and had a great time! The views form the pool are amazing and overall the area is very peaceful. In the photos the house looks a bit more isolated, as there is actually a neighbouring house, no one was there when we were there so it was great but it would be a different experience if there was. The grill outside is perfect for outdoor dinners and the owner is a very sweet man! Check in and communication was super smooth, thanks for a great stay!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at this tranquil place.

  • Very good housing, very well equipped, very nice home and very warm people. Obligation to have a car to be able to move, the city not far by car. But a setting in total calm in the middle of nature.

  • We met the property manager Marta in Licciana Nardi and followed her to the house which is about 10 minutes drive from there. Communication with Marta was very good and she speaks excellent English. The house is located in a very quiet area in the countryside and had everything we needed. The pool is excellent and although not heated was warm enough for us. There are two good size bedrooms, a shower room, a living room and a galley style kitchen. There is a rather narrow spiral staircase and the shower is quite small so this property isn't really suitable if you are on the large side. Outside is a nice but small garden has a table and chairs and a barbecue which we made good use of. There are a few very friendly cats around. The owner of the property makes his own wine and gave us a couple of bottles and it is remarkably good. We only have a couple of very small gripes; the first being that there is a pig sty about 60 metres from the house and if the wind is in the wrong direction it stinks, the second being the annoying flying insects - wasps, horse flies and mosquitos so make sure you take insect repellent. It was my wife's birthday whilst we were there and Marta organised a fantastic evening for us which involved a private wine and local produce tasting at a local winery followed by a evening meal at Montagna Verdi which was superb - thanks again Marta.

  • This is a really beautiful spot - if you are after a peaceful and secluded break then Antonella's place ticks all the boxes - she really has thought of everything you might need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The views are stunning, the house is very clean with a small but well-equipped kitchen and there are lots of thoughtful touches like games and fans. It was over 30 degrees during our stay and the fans ensured we were able to enjoy a good night's sleep. Antonella's dad even gave us a bottle of his homemade fizz which was delicious. We loved having breakfast and lunch in the shady cabana and spending the day enjoying the pool - then having a barbecue on the terrace in front of the house in the evening. We'd recommend a trip down to the river at Licciana Nardi for paddling or a swim - gorgeous spot. If you have children and don't mind a drive, the aqua park at Follonica around 2 hours away makes a brilliant day out and even in August didn't feel too busy - check out the reviews! It's quite a windy drive up from Licciana Nardi to the house but the roads are very quiet. Grazie mille Antonella, Roddolfo and Marta for a great stay.

  • Beautiful location! We really enjoyed our stay here, and loved the typical Italian house and surroundings. The construction did not bother us that much, the workers were not there every day, and when they were there they did not make too much noise. And the pool was good enough, we liked the pool area. We can also recommend CONAD in Aulla for groceries, great store. And in the town next to Licciana Nardi, Crespiano, there is a great restaurant called Ristorante Galletti. Great food and good prices. We can also recommend going for a swim in the river in Licciana Nardi, beautiful lagunes there. We had a rental car and we drove to the coast several times, many beautiful towns and beaches there. We went to Lerici, Tellaro and Cinque Terre (took the train to Cinque Terre from Aulla). Liguria is a beautiful, authentic, relaxing and not too touristy region of Italy (except Cinque Terre, that is touristy but still worth the trip). And last but not least – delicious food everywhere you go!

The word Tuscany conjures images of olive groves and vineyards, fine food and wine, romantic farmhouses lined with cypress trees and of course the sun set over Florence. • We had a wonderful stay at Nicholas house, the garden and view are breath taking, the house is clean and everything is thought of. The pool and garden are much bigger than expected. Marta & Clara were reachable 24/7. The only pity was not knowing that there is no parking close to the house, but in the end the little village is very safe and everybody there are very friendly. Also if traveling with elder or disabled people it’s difficult to reach the house, since you’ve got to walk down a little steep alley and the luggage has to be carried down the whole way. Still, we absolutely fell in love with the house and area and will definitely return.

    Maja2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house with pool and large terrace were very nice (as in the description). Everything was very well arranged, there was nothing to complain. We spent a very nice holiday.

  • Just returned from a 10 day summer stay at the house. We had a wonderful time and were sad that we needed to leave. The house is really nice and cosy, with an very good equipped kitchen and two in-house bathrooms. The pool area - with a third bathroom - and the garden are amazing! Because the terrace/patio area has a roof it is very nice to sit their all day, from having breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool is really nice as well and very good maintained by Clara who comes by every other day. Anything we needed we could ask Marta and Clara. Too many positives to mention ... To summarize: We usually try every year to spend our vacation somewhere else, but this house, together with the surrounding north Tuscany and Liguria area has us thinking to return soon for another stay.

  • The holidays at Casa Chioccia were great! We can confirm all the information of the previous evaluations and want to highlight the wonderful pizza oven (used three times) as well as the great swimming possibility in the nearby river. The only pity was the lack of a large cooking pot to make plenty of pasta. A big praise to Carla and Marta, for the local care!

    Cornelius2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice house in a super location. The waterfall in the back of your garden and all facilities within reach. You can reach beautiful tourist spots within an hour.

  • The house was perfect! And the kids loved the pool! All accessible amenities and very good quality in the village! Nice little village ... Prevail anti mosquito solutions in summer because near a river :) We really had a great week at Licciana Nardi!

    Nicolas2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Top holiday! Very nice house. Above expectations. Nice charming village with all amenities nearby. Ice cream, bread, fresh pasta, vegetables, a butcher, everything around the corner. The host is fantastic, she will make sure that you do not lack anything. We have had a wonderful holiday here that will stay with us for a long time.

    Eva2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were there with our 1 1/2 year old daughter and it was exactly what we were looking for. It is a very nice and spacious house with huge garden. The pool was just for us. Pizza oven and grill work. The most valuable is the large canopy where it is also cool and shady at noon. So if you are looking for peace and relaxation is just right. Small shops for fruits and food are only a few meters away. The nearest supermarket is about 15 automons.

    Licciana Nardi, Toscana, Italy

Villa in upper Tuscany with large private pool, spacious garden and panoramic terrace, just a stone's throw from the Cinque Terre, La Spezia and the Tyrrhenian coast The property has every comfort and its location guarantees privacy, as well as it allows you to easily reach many points of interest. This is the ideal place to relax immersed in nature, to go hiking, to visit the most beautiful Tuscan cities - Pisa, Lucca, Florence- and enjoy the excellent Tuscan cuisine and wine.
Please read all the informations before you decide to book the villa, thank you! The property is situated on a hill overlooking the small village of Crespiano. Since there are no other houses nearby, guests can enjoy great privacy. Parking is located inside the property, right next to the garden and to reach the house you only need to cross the lawn. My property includes a house and an adjoining studio (rented together), a south-facing panoramic terrace and a north-facing terrace overlooking the garden with pool. The large garden is completely fenced and guests can relax and sunbathe on the sun loungers around the pool. The terrace is equipped with table, chairs, benches and BBQ. The apartment can accommodate up to 6 people: it has two double bedrooms (one of which has access to the south terrace through a French door) with 160 x 190 cm beds, a bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with shower and bath, a dining room with a stone fireplace, a living room with a sofa bed, sofas, armchairs and TV with DVD player and home theatre, and a fully equipped kitchen with table and chairs, electric oven, stove and dishwasher. The studio sleeps up to five people: it has a double bed, a bunk bed and a single bed, a dining table, a fireplace, a kitchen and a bathroom with shower. I provide sheets, tablecloths, dish towels and bath towels. The towels provided are reserved exclusively for use inside the house. It is not allowed to use the towels in the garden or pool. Towels for the pool and the sea are not included. As the house and the studio are rented to the same family / group, guests have the exclusively use of the swimming-pool: the pool is private, it is not shared with other guests.
This location is ideal for those who love staying in contact with nature, away from the hustle of the city, enjoy the Italian summer in total privacy.
  • My family and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful villa in late September. The living space was large and bright with lots of room to relax. Two good sized double bedrooms and a smaller twin bedroom provides ample space. The studio offers another living space with its own bathroom and double bed. The pool was a welcome addition on hot days with a shallow section useful for toddlers. The garden is well kept and the two terraces offer nice dining and relaxing spaces. Crespiano itself (a short walk down the hill) has a bakery and a short drive away, Comano offers a nice restaurant and shop which sells great wine, cheese, meats and pretty much anything you need. Allua is a little farther away but offers a number of larger supermarkets and a market on Saturdays. It's well situated and within an hour or two of Pisa, Florence, Cinque Terre (Riomaggiore, Manarola) and Viareggio. Giulia herself was warm, friendly and helpful. We will certainly return to this wonderful villa. Giulia was lovely and the whole experience was a memorable one for all of us.

    Stuart2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house, garden and setting are even more lovely than they look online. The views are stunning and the swimming pool was great for the kids. Guilia couldn't have been more helpful. She is a fantastic host and was so friendly to us and the children. We had a wonderful time!

    Katie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our holiday in Crespiano! Thanks to Giulia for his lovely welcome. Everything was there to make this holiday unforgettable: the garden, the dream pool, the sumptuous landscape, the kindness of the locals, the cappuccino to fall that prepares Denise in the small cafe below and antipasti and pasta from Galetti ! Not to mention the ballads in Florence, Lerici the turquoise sea, and the tourist bath at the beautiful Cinque Terre! Philippe

  • Lovely setting, good facilities and helpful host.

    Simon2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a wonderful vacation at Giulias House. The house has a beautiful location in the mountains, and the hospitality was extra ordinary! We where 4 adult and 4 children and had plenty of room. We enjoyed fireflyes in the evening together with the beautiful view. The house is well equiped and you dont need to bring anything here. Highly recommended. The communication was very fast and smoothless. The response rate from Giulias was simply amazing. Thank you!

    Martin2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Giulias villa was a great destination for our two families with small kids. The setting is amazing in the Tuscan mountains with a wonderful garden and pool for the kids to play in. The house had everything we wished for and a nice genuine italian feeling. It was a great place for staying four adults and five small kids in this villa. Giulia was a great host, quick to reply to questions, had lots of good local knowledge that she happily shared and was also cautious to not disturb us.

    Rickard2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We can thoroughly recommend Guilia as a host and the house. Everything you need for a getaway in the Tuscan countryside. The house is set up on a rise so be prepared for a small drive up a hill rewarded with a place with views from many parts. Pool and garden are such a nice part of the place we wish we had more time to enjoy it all. Guila’s local knowledge really makes a difference. Train to nearby tourist areas such as Cinque Terre was an example of the good advice, along with nearby places to eat. Ideal option to get away and enjoy a more rural setting with celebrated places to visit nearby if the whim takes you.

    Karl2019-07-07T00:00:00Z

You are very welcome in the Municipality of Villafranca! The house is within walking distance of the Castle of Malgrate; La Spezia can be reached in half an hour and Cinque Terre within the hour (by car). There are buses leaving too, 2 minutes away from the house. Guests can enjoy 3 bedrooms with double beds. There is a large green garden with fruits and vegetables where guests can relax, tan or read a book. Great for families and couples!
  • Niculina’s guest house is sparkling clean and very comfortable. We didn’t get to spend much time with Niculina, but she was so friendly and kind whenever we spoke. Thank you again.

    Lauren2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb experience! We stayed at Niculina's place for 2 nights, and we had and amazing stay. Niculina is very generous, thoughtful and a warm-hearted person! She had everything prepared for us to be comfortable and we had everything we needed even food for breakfast. Eventhough we had to use more than one language to communicate, it was one of the nicest conversations I had :) The place is sparkling clean, cosy, very well taken care of and spacious with a beautiful garden. I would definitely recommend to stay with Niculina and I would gladly stay with her again!

  • We have discovered a magical place, a house well kept and equipped and a host of great kindness and generosity. We enjoyed the surrounding nature, the culture and the great variety of activities offered by this beautiful region. An experience not to be missed. Thanks to Niculina for contributing. Margherita

  • Niculina is nice, very kind, and helpful, she gave us good advice on what to visit and also where to eat, the house is very clean, the breakfast abundant and the table prepared with care and elegance, the house is close to the castle and the town near Filetto is a small beautiful village recommended to visit. I confirm the excellent position to make a cultural tourist vacation.

    Wendy2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of space, everything clean, great breakfast. Good place on the way to Toskane and / or Rome

    Jan2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • All perfect. We stayed only one night in the beautiful house of Mrs. Niculina, a wonderful and super helpful person, who returned from a walk in the center and a dinner at the castle has delighted us with his stories and offered a good coffee, too bad to have stayed for so little. The room is large and is kept very well, very clean and equipped with anything you may need. Easy to reach and with an optimal location, 5 min from the castle and 1.3km from the center of Filetto.

    Francesco2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Niculina was such a gracious and friendly host. She made sure everything was perfect and that we were happy despite us not really speaking Italian and she not speaking English- we figured everything out! We had such a wonderful time. The house is so beautiful. We couldn’t believe it. It is peaceful and serene. The local restaurants are very good. It is about a 40 min drive to La Spezia and a quick train to Cinque Terra. You can be there in about an hour I would say. Well worth the trip. Everything was clean and spotless and breakfast was simple and lovely. We hope to one day see her again! The only thing I would mention is the parking space has a gate which makes it a right squeeze to get the car in- it’s no problem unless you have a big car. I just needed some help from my friends!

We would love to have stayed longer because it gave us a calming and peaceful stay and short car drive to beautiful places by the coast advised by Lucia. We would love to come back.

The proximity to the Alps Apuane and the “Cinque Terre” makes the mansion a strategic place for excursions to mountains and seaside, and to the next art cities, Pisa, Florence, Sarzana, Lucca and to the Carrara marble quarries. • Although it arrived for mid-August and they were very busy to better prepare the catering service, they nevertheless worked to explain to me the best places to visit and what were the most suitable routes to reach them, even if all this took a long time. The cuisine is excellent and genuine like the ancient methods with which it is prepared. Highly recommended, I will be back soon

  • Casa Turchetti is a quiet welcoming place where you can focus your stay on a stretch of the Ligurian coast (cinque terre) and / or the less touristy nature park. And every evening you can come home to the house with a tasty, very affordable kitchen, prepared by the hostess and host. Nice place.

    Danny2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is spacious, the surrounding nature relaxing, the mild climate, a river at 500 m, the ideal elements to spend a holiday in green. Our dog Jungel was also comfortable. The place is picturesque and quite original. The dishes of the restaurant are delicious as well as the desserts. We highly recommend.

The food was another level of tastiness and worth a visit alone if you are staying nearby. The laughter from the children as the birds swooped and drank from the pool (while they were in it)and the lovely views with a chilled drink made for a memorable stay. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality that our family will remember for a long time to come.

  • Marvelous place. Mountains, nature, culture, excellent food and not too far from the sea. So much to do around and at the same time you can just relax in the gardens with a view on the valleys. Hosts are friendly and discreet. My family is already wanting to go back!

    Jaime2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to "get away from it all", but still close enough to tourist attractions such as Cinque Terre. The apartment was very spacious with a woderful view from the little balcony. Even though the apartment had a kitchen, we never used it since the breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was so delicious. Can definitely recommend it!

    Annette2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • An isolated corner of nature and of true opportunity to explore cities around ... well we breathe, the stars and the forest are beautiful ... and small stone village is at the top. Italian magic with its great culinary products around. the reception is good, very clean, spacious, and I 'invites everyone to keep a budget for the restaurant is particularly good (the piece of beef is tremendous and cuts to the spoon) and cheap ... (full gourmet meal for 20 euros per person ... with a great tiramisu). to visit: Lucca, Porto worships and small mountain paths ... (Pisa is very touristy). negative: the path abyss a little cars ... not very trail maintained on end. Do not park his car down the path, c is frowned upon by the locals.

  • We had a great week in a spectacular house. It has a large garden, a beautiful pool and above all, an incredible terrace, where we could see the stars. It is worth visiting the surrounding villages following Tim's recommendations. Very grateful to Tim, for his advice and quick answers.

    Anna2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Tim is incredibly kind, always available but very discreet. The house is a haven of peace, we felt like paradise. Beautiful pool in a huge garden located between the vineyards and the mountain. The house is large and well equipped. The terrace is huge and very nice. The region is beautiful to discover.

  • A huge thank you to Tim and his mom for their kindness and hospitality. We were a group of 9 friends and we loved our stay in this sublime home. The house is extremely well equipped we did not miss anything. Tim is here to answer our questions but remains very discreet. The pool and the grounds are splendid. Everything was very clean. Tim gave us tips on tours and restaurants everything was excellent. We advise more than strongly this house. Another big thank you for everything, thanks to you our holidays were perfect.

The Outside Area is awesome. 4000m with a great pool, a slide and swings. Great for the Kids. We really recommend Tim and his house!

Between sea and mountain, in Lunigiana, ancient land of castles and forests, you will experience moments of calm and relaxation, hosted in an old stone house restored with ecological methods and respecting tradition
Overlooking a green and silent valley, at the bottom of which a clear creek flows, the small stone house is next to the ruins of the ancient castle of Bigliolo and preserves on the north side ruins of a tower. The house (restored with respect to its characteristics and using ecological materials) has thick walls and is cool inside, even in summer. Organized on three levels, there are two bright bedrooms, at the upper level. The living room has a sofa with two additional beds. The kitchen is comfortable and well equipped, with a dishwasher and a oven. Outside, in the garden with aromatic plants, in peace and quiet you can sunbathe, read, eat, drink a glass of local wine and prepare the barbecue. The forniture is simple and welcoming. Stefania, interior designer, pays attention to details. For the winter or for cold evenings, there are a stove with visible fire in the living room and electric radiators in the rooms.
Around the house you can go walking and cycling, there are also cross routes. by car the near art cities like Pontremoli, Fosdinovo, Sarzana, Pietrasanta, Carrara, Pisa. You can reach also seaside places, as the Versilia, the Cinque Terre, the Gulf of La Spezia (Portovenere, Lerici, Tellaro, Monte Marcello). If you prefer the mountain you can reach the Alps Apuane and the Apennine (the Cerreto Pass, the Parco dei Cento Laghi, the Bismantova Stone). For an appointment with the opera, in the summer, you can enjoy the Opera at Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago. You can arrive in Florence in 1 hour and 45 minutes by car.
  • The accommodation is very nice and quiet. Within a short distance by car to achieve everything you need for daily life. We have experienced very relaxing days away from the hustle and bustle.

    Arne2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little house isolated and quiet. Perfect to discover the surroundings (Cinque Terre and Tuscany ...)!

    Peter2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We (2 adults and 2 children) spent 6 days in the house of Stefania, and this a perfect way to have a rest in the middle of wonderful nature, in silence and quiet, to terminate our vacations after the days of race for history and art in big Toscan cities. The house is very consistent with place and nature around, it is very cosy and nice, with picturesque views from the windows, and a small garden with multiple plants. There is everything you need inside (equipped kitchen, washing machine, internet, iron etc.), so our stay was very comfortable, too. Stefania met us in person and left us the house idealy clean. The nature is great, there is a very beatiful waterfall below the house near the mountain creek, with a small basin of crystal clear and not very cold water (you can swim in the hot days). One of the evenings we even saw a small deer which came to eat plums! The views to the mountains take your breath away, very beautiful. In front of the house there is an old medieval fortress which is now almost fully absorbed by the forest. One can still dishtinguish the remnants of walls, tower and inner buildings covered with plants. These ruines bring some mistery to the place. To conclude, a very good choice if you want to leave the noize and stress of big cities and spend some time alone with nature but still in comfortable conditions! Kirill, Olga, and children.

    Kirill2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended. It is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the renovation and design of the house and gardens. This extends also to the host's communication and hospitality. Very pretty, quiet area.

    Gerry2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very lovely, unique and stylish place in nature. Small, but convenient and clean house.

    Vygintas2019-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage in a nice, quiet location !! The house and the garden is extremely lovingly and richly decorated. Stefania is an extremely friendly host. So really, everything top! The secluded location of the house is clearly named in the description and therefore no surprise ...

    Tobias2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very nice, quiet and consistent with the description, it is however essential to have a car because it is a bit isolated. Stefania is lovely and welcomed us in person. We had a very good stay.

    Marthe2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Half a year of anticipation was immediately confirmed in "little home near the castle". Such a beautiful lovingly decorated house, surrounded by a great and richly filled garden, we dreamed. So many great details, pictures and accessories have immediately invited us to feel good. The contact with Stefania was very nice and always supportive, so that we felt very welcome. Starting breakfast with fresh figs picked straight from the tree or snacking on fresh goji berries was another cherry on top ... The nature and the nearby waterfall have awakened the thirst for adventure and the exciting destinations with about an hour's drive such as Lucca, Pisa (about 1,2h) La Spezia, Sarzana or by train through Cinque Terre are easy to reach from there. But even the smaller towns and villages on hills or on slopes in the area offer breathtaking views. The Mediterranean Sea is sandy to rocky, with the emerald waters of Monterosso al Mare most impressive. The silence and darkness at night have made a wonderful view of the stars and in our time on the blood moon possible. Thank you for an unforgettable holiday.

  • We had a really good stay at Angelo's lovely place. It is very clean and peaceful. The area is fresh and so is the house and the swimming pool. Other guests seemed to appreciate that too. Angelo is a very friendly guy who helps with everything, including suggesting us the finest lunch restaurant we had on our two weeks in Tuscany. I have nothing but good words for the man and his beautiful place halfway the mountain.

  • We had a great stay. The garden is beautiful, the breakfast was very nice, and the lady of the house was very welcoming. She doesn’t speak English, but that didn’t prevent us from chatting :) She even took us to see some castles in the area. She recommended a sail boat trip with her daughter and son in law, and that was a fantastic trip as well. We always try to avoid touristy experiences, and this felt more like staying with friends than anything else. If I’m ever back in Tuscany, this is the first place I’ll visit.

  • My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Norma. It was lovely and tranquil. The grounds and pool area were absolutely stunning with all comforts from a dressing area to luxury sun loungers. We were treated with impeccable hospitality from a lovely family. Breakfast was gorgeous with lots to choose from. All recommendations for restaurants from Ilaria were of a high standard and also good value. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Ilaria and her family were so kind and helpful throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to plan a return visit.

Restored stone house with private garden and swimmimg pool set in a picturesque village on a hamlet at 5 minutes from all amenities. It is a jump back in the past with all modern comforts.
On the ground floor there is the living room with sofa, tv and table with chairs, spacious kitchen and shower bathroom. On the upper floor there are two spacious double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. A nice terrace all along the house, overlooks the unique view on the valley and a big private terrace offers the ideal space to take the sun in peace and relax. Outside there is a spacious sitting area and steps leading to the outside kitchen/bbq area and the swimming pool. PLEASE ALWAYS ASK FOR AVAILABILITY BEFORE BOOKING
The village is only 5 minutes drive from the main small town of Licciana Nardi with shops and restaurant. Aulla is approx 15 mins from the house and has train station, motorway and all the amenities. The word Tuscany conjures images of olive groves and vineyards, fine food and wine, romantic farmhouses lined with cypress trees and of course the sun set over Florence.
  • We liked it very much Very Nice view Nice place

    Petra2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really a beautiful house with lots of space and wonderful swimming pool. You can completely relax here and enjoy an amazing view. Shopping is indeed a bit far away and the last 50 meters to the house are difficult to do with the car (unpaved and steep). Trips made to cinque terre and Pisa / Lucca. Overall a very successful holiday in Baccana!

    Marcel2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place! The house is a wonderful and very comfy. The view and the area is like a dream! Perfect accommodation for holidays with friends! I highly recommend!! Lidia is also a great host and helped us always with all problems and questions! :)

  • Beautiful place, authentic and rustic. Outstanding views over beautiful countryside, gorgeous pool. Really great support from Marta and Tomas, on arrival in Baccana and throughout stay, helping us book local (amazing) restaurants - like having the most lovely friendly concierge service.

    Sarah2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The house is situated at the very top of a mountain road with a beautiful view! The pool is great and outdoor kitchen area really nice. The house has all you need. We were a group of four adults and three children in the age from 2-8 and we had such a great time. The town nearby has very limited shopping options so expect to drive approx 30 min for grocery shopping.

Spacious, rural Tuscan villa set among olive groves with stunning panoramic views & large, private pool. Florence, Lucca & Pisa are day trips, local beaches & the dramatic coastline of the Cinqe Terre are 45 mins by car, hill walks from your doorstep
Two master bedrooms at the front of the house have full length French doors leading onto the full width south facing balcony with panoramic views across the valley and to the Alpe Apuane. The large twin rooms at the rear of the house look out over the garden and terrace. The separate bathroom and shower room are designed for all to access. Ample living areas downstairs include a wood burning oven, selection of guide books, reading books and board games. The farmhouse style kitchen is well equipped and there's plenty of space for indoor eating but the large terrace outside is the perfect place for leisurely meals, a beer or prosecco. The long garden leads to a large, private pool, backed by chestnut woods. Wake up to swallows gathering, watch fireflies and stars at night, listen to the cowbells, relax!
Virolo is a small hamle in the Tuscan hills. You may meet one couple, Franca and Pietrino, the neighbouring farmers who pass the villa in their tractor. This largely unexplored part of Tuscany is more rugged than the south and was home to the Italian resistance in WW11. Here you'll not be overcharged for a beer or pizza though the Tuscan city highlights of Florence and Lucca are a day trip away. Warm bread, cheese and ham as well as some dry good and other basics can be bought at the one stop shop/bar just 5 minutes away, while the local medieval town of Fivizzano, complete with piazza, is just 10 minutes by car. On a wet day head to the pre-historic caves at Equi Terme and for an elegant lunch or evening meal set among olive groves we recommend Al Vecchio Tino in Monte Bianchi. If the pool starts to pall and a city is not for you, then the local beaches at San Terenzo or the coast of the Cinqe Terre are also lovely to explore.
  • This is a fabulous house - we could not have asked for a better holiday. The pool was beautiful, warm and clean, and the house had all the equipment we needed for eight people to live comfortably for two weeks. The location is truly spectacular. For those who like a run or a walk, it is 2km up the hill to Monte Tergagliana and spectacular views. The terraces at the house were perfect for dinner and wine in the evenings, and coffee and a book in the mornings. For tranquility and privacy, this place could not be beat. Fivizzano is close enough for basic amenities, and the Lidl at Aulla provided us with all the food and wine we needed at very reasonable prices. We loved the fact that we could go to the beach at San Terenzo, or take a walk in the Apuan Alps all within an hour's driving distance. Probably the best Airbnb house we've stayed in.

  • A huge private pool and beautiful villa with the best views I have ever seen. A very relaxing week away in the perfect setting.

  • Fantastic place!

  • Myself and my family had a wonderful time at the villa. A superb spacious villa, with an outstanding view of the mountains.

    Trevor2018-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in authentic Tuscan style. It is nice cool even on very hot days. The view from the house and the terraces is beautiful. The swimming pool is lovely and we spent a lot of hours there. Fivizzano which is the closest town - is a nice little town (10 minutes drive from the house). There are great opportunity for shopping or enjoying a coffee or ice cream from the small cafes. Rosalind had produced very nice information about everything worth seeing in the area. The pictures of the house, etc. looks much better in reality. The view of the mountains can hardly be described. We were two families and we had a wonderful vacation. We recommend Rosalind's house to others.

    Thomas2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of 8 people and still had plenty of room! The house is very basic but has everything you need. The view is great, the garden and pool are very spacious and to top it of they have a selfmade pizza oven in the garden. The location is a bit out of the way but if that's what you're looking for it's a beautiful place to enjoy your holidays. I can really recommend this place!

    Thomas2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect holiday, that view alone is worth a drive from any airport! Every morning when you wake up and open your curtains, you see beautiful hills and valleys. Breathtaking! The house and garden are spacious and have everything you need (dishwasher, washing machine, internet etc). You do have to keep in mind that you are pretty much alone out there. Lots of peace and quiet to enjoy. You can easily spend a day relaxing at the pool, enjoying your breakfast on the terrace and walking in the mountains. A small Italian village is close where you can get all your groceries, and enjoy coffee, wine and pizza. For all other activities you will need to go for a short drive, but within 40-60 minutes you can have great day trips. We went to the caves, to Pisa and to Florence (a bit longer drive), to Cinque Terre and to the beach. You never have to get bored. For really good restaurants I recommend going to Aulla (30min drive). Thanks again Rosalind for a lovely stay! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends!

    Zosia2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing house, I agree with a previous review that the photos don't do it justice. The views from the house are simply stunning. It is a spacious and nicely decorated house, plenty of room for our family of 6 (two adults, three teens, one 6 year old). Two bathrooms were great. Bedrooms were lovely, especially the two at the front with balconies and mountain views! The house has a lovely, comfortable, lived-in feel to it. The kitchen was well equipped and the BBQ was great. The pool was wonderful, steps in at one end (perfect for our little one) and the rest of it deep enough for serious swimming. The house is a bit out of the way but that is exactly what we wanted, and it makes for a lovely peaceful and relaxing holiday. Rosalind's directions were perfect, and we really appreciated all the tips for days out etc. The drive up is a little ropey but fun! We had two easy day trips from the house - one to Pisa, and one to San Terenzo/Lerici. Communication was excellent. This house is highly recommended. We are hoping to return another time!

  • Kenneth's place is absolutely amazing. Super clean and even better than what we expected. There are a ton of fun little small towns to visit nearby and it's convenient to places like Cinque Terre which are absolutely gorgeous. Marta, the property manager, is incredible. She made great restaurant recommendations and even helped in getting us reservations. I would recommend this place to anyone.

  • Great villa with all You need for two families. We had a great time, thank you!

    Ian & Eva2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Marta was everything you would want in a host. She helped us with everything - gave advice on how to visit the sites (take the train not the car). Where to eat, where to get italian take away, and even helped with reservations and ordering. We can fully recommend booking a home with Marta as a host.

  • An absolute dream! We had an absolutely great time. Highly recommended and absolutely clean. Any time!

    Raphael2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful well-equipped property. Marta was a very helpful and efficient host both prior to our trip and during our stay.

  • The villa exceeds expectations! And 'really great, perfect for three families with many children. The large common spaces and levels created "private" spaces, so we could be comfortable all 12 together, but separate, so that everyone could enjoy his leisure. Equipped kitchen, heating great, great garden for the kids to run.

  • Lisa is an angel and her place is incredible. She treated us to an incredible meal and gave us the best air bnb experience i’ve ever had.

  • From the moment we booked Lisa was so helpful and friendly she responded to all of my questions very quickly and was so helpful on where to go and what to do. She also waited for us to arrive very late! Thank you Lisa for being so wonderful. Hope to see you in Australia soon! 😊

  • The Lavender House is perfect for a time of serenity. Out of the tourists. Very good dinner of the Mother and sisters of yours! Thank you so much Lisa!

  • Lovely place, surrounded by greenery, very suitable for those who love silence and tranquility. Tactical position as you can range from mountain trips to the sea! I recommend it to everyone

  • The communication with Lisa was perfect from the start, friendly, helpful and very fast. The English is very good. The accomodation is off the beaten track, which is well known to anyone who looks at it on the map. Therefore, it is wonderfully embedded in nature and quiet. Lisa and her family are very hospitable and helpful. They try very hard to meet the different needs and gave us a family atmosphere. Our daughter 2,5 years old also felt very well. There are animals and swings. Lisa can convey a great deal of knowledge about her animals and the environment and give valuable tips. If someone wants to do something special, such as horseback riding or hiking, she always knows how to help. The accommodation is very clean and spacious. The breakfast on the beautiful terrace is very special and varied. The wireless was perfect at all times. In the future, Lisa plans to build a small pool and have more animals. We felt very well and thankfully we were able to extend one more night. We would always like to come. We miss Lisa and her family after one day and wish them all the best!

A traditional 17th century manor house, situated in a quiet spot in the heart of an authentic village. Direct booking one room though offering up to 3 en-suite rooms plus a small room for those that can share with friends or family on request. Only a few steps from traditional bars and restaurants plus many other amenities. A wonderful place to retreat after a busy day exploring the delights of Lunigiana.
The house is very special to the village as it was the Doctor's house and surgery, and the lower floor contained the village primary school. We have restored the house to reflect it's history though ensuring all modern comforts and facilities are provided.
Monti is an authentic friendly Italian village, with excellent family-run restaurants, with the emphasis on local produce - both in ingredients and accompanying wines. All amenities are to be found just steps away, be it the bakery, greengrocer, pharmacy, newsagent, and bars for your traditional Italian evening Aperetivo.

  • Hey Phil @ Lianne! We have had a perfect holiday thanks to you. Be it the friendly welcome, the spotless accommodation with a super comfortable bed, the delicious food from Leonardo or the valuable insider tips for successful day trips away from tourism. With you, you can really relax very well, no matter if you pull a few laps in the pool or simply relax in the whirlpool. Definitely worth the trip and we will definitely be back! Too bad we only stayed with you for a week! Best regards, Lennard & Lisa

Kids no want to get out 😃. View from the villa it’s something what you have to see yourself!!!! It’s stunning!!! Kids best friend dog Mishka always around wants to play with ball 🎾!!! It was just relaxing long holidays!!! I hope next year will repeat!!!! Last thing I want to say , Italians should learn how to run business from English people!!!

  • Our (2 adults, 2 kids) summer break at Phil & Lianne was just wonderful. The apartment is very well equipped with attention to detail and especially the bathroom very nice. Phil & Lianne were always with words and deeds aside and helped us with their tips to explore the area (ask for the waterfall!) Or make out the most beautiful cities and restaurants in the area. (Private) pool and jacuzzi are super maintained and invite you to take a pool day. Otherwise, it is important to note that a car is required, because you have to the nearest village Fivizzano about 15 minutes drive in front of him and the house is accordingly offside. The view from the terrace and the peace and quiet but fully compensated for the somewhat secluded location. Many thanks for everything! We would be happy to come back again!

  • What a great place for a relaxing holiday! The view over the mountains is magical. All our expectations have been exceeded. The property is very clean and every detail has been thought of. We enjoyed the swimming pool. In the evenings we sat in the jacuzzi watching the night sky, very romantic. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. There is much to discover in the area. There are good restaurants nearby and the hosts have very good tips for all kinds of activities. We would like to come back to this amazing place!
