'Noddfa' is a Welsh word meaning 'sanctuary' . Situated on the first floor it enjoys far-reaching views. The lobby leads into a spacious living/dining area and fitted kitchen. Beyond is a generous master bedroom suite with kingsize bed, dressing room and generous ensuite shower room. The second bedroom features twin beds and another ensuite shower room. Noddfa is pet friendly and affords spacious accommodation for up to 4 adults or children along with shared access to a hot-tub and deck.
Noddfa is one of 3 apartments in Bryn Melyn Apartments. Formerly a highly-rated guest house the building was sympathetically transformed in 2017 into high quality holiday apartments over two floors. Accommodating a maximum of ten guests across the 3 apartments the complex offers a 'mini-resort' feel with a luxurious sun-deck featuring a BBQ and hot-tub, plus private car park.
The apartments are situated on the edge of Barmouth, a characterful small town situated at the mouth of the scenic Mawddach Estuary. Surrounded with stunning scenery and blessed with an awesome blue-flag beach Barmouth also has a healthy High Street full of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and is a perfect location from which to explore the Snowdonia National Park.

  • What a great experience! First time we had stayed in a pod. It was really cosy and with the radiator on it didn't feel like a log cabin at all! It was fun cooking on a gas stove and when I daftly thought we had run out of gas, Ali very sweetly directed me to "look under the sink" and there were plenty more. Her husband even came and brought us more! We were well looked after and very cosy. The hot tub was an absolute treat! Never felt so relaxed in my life. Sadly couldn't use it the next day as the winds were pretty strong but we expected that in March. For dog owners, it's worth bearing in mind that the sheep roam freely so keep the dog on a lead. We had no problems at all but just thought it might be good to know. Thank you for a brilliant experience!

  • Beautiful little pod in a secluded area, lovely views from the hot tub which was all ready for us when we got there. Check in was super easy. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Barmouth, the Last Inn serves delicious food! Will definitely be back!

  • Amazing place! Great secluded location and Ali sent us a video of how to find the place a few weeks before which was really helpful. Hot tub was amazing looking out over the bay. Will definitely be staying again

  • Amazing sunset view. Lovely place and beautiful location.

  • Amazing night away for my partners birthday. Even considered booking an extra night whilst there. Communication was great with Ali - before and during the stay. Looking forward to visiting in the summer and enjoying the private beach. Top tip for future stayers: use the hot water bottles as plate warmers ;)

  • Beautiful location, quiet and secluded spot overlooking the water. Cosy and comfortable little cabin with everything you could need for a short stay. Hot tub was warm and ready for use when we arrived. Faultless easy check in and out system and the hosts provided easy to follow written and video directions to the location prior to our stay which was much appreciated. Would definitely visit again.

  • We had an amazing night away here at snowdonia! A lovely cosy lodge, with an incredible view!! Just our luck that we went during a bad storm- so we couldn’t use the hot tub, we will be back in summer to make full use of the hot tub.

Clogau Shepheards Hut situated alongside the famous Mawddach estuary in the Snowdonia National Park. Hot tub with breath taking views and access to a private beach. Pets allowed BBQ Indoor log burner 5 mins from seaside town Barmouth
  • We enjoyed our stay in the shepherds hut despite some bad weather. The hot tub was fantastic! The location is very private and you feel in the middle of nowhere at the same time as being a 5 minute drive into town. Check in was perfect and the hut was immaculate. The hut is Very warm and has everything you need. We would love to return in the summer to make the most out of the outside space

    Alice2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to visit with amazing views!

    Andrew2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This Sheppard hut was beautiful, however that view is amazing. Only fault I found was that the view is blocked with gorse bushes when your sat in the hot tub. I recommend they be cut down or just cut enoughso that you can see that view. Apart from that we will be back again. One night wasn't enough. We were greeted in the morning by a big horse, very friendly.

  • Lovely place, really great stay. The views are absolutely incredible and we truly lucked out with the weather. It was our first weekend away to Wales, and was totally worth it. We popped down to Barmouth (The Royal Hotel) is a must! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We even met the local sheep and pony :) Thank you!

    Teri2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the Shepard's hut is wonderful. A dip in that hot tub in under the stars, surrounded be fairy lights was a totally magical experience. Ali provided detailed directions which made it super easy to find. The hut was comfy and cosy, with lots of thoughtful touches that made it feel like home.

    Amy2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the Shepherds Hut, what a secluded & peaceful location. The hot tub was amazing, so relaxing. The bed was much bigger than we thought too. Thank you for arranging roses (Valentines Day) via my boyfriend who proposed further down the coast! This place will always have a special place in my heart and we will be most definitely be back.

  • I highly highly highly recommend this place, it’s stunning. It’s absolutely beautiful. The people are so lovely and helpful. We went for my partners 21st and they dressed the tent up with balloons and banners and we had a bottle off Prosecco that they had done for us, the tents are lovely, hot tub is amazing, the views from your tent are out off this world, the whole experience is amazing! We will definitely 100% be going back!

  • Me, the girlfriend and our two Black Labs only stayed at Phil’s for one night, but I have to say it was fantastic. The views are exceptional, even in the wind and rain. The dogs loved walking across the estuary, and the private gate from the site made it very easy and accessible. Although the Tents aren’t massive, perfectly big enough and cosy enough for all four of us, just what you expect from a glamping site. As advised we took an extra Duvet, but the tent never got cold thanks to the Electric heater supplied, we read many reviews saying the beds where hard, they where, but again, it’s only what you expect from glamping in my opinion, and weren’t uncomfortable in our experience. The Woodfired hot tub was fantastic, we spent hours in there, only getting out to keep the fire stoked up. We didn’t get chance to use the other amenities because of the rain and wind, but the fire pit and BBQs where all supplied with wood and the gas hobs all looked in good condition and worked fine. Only thing We would say was the toilet block could do with a little clean and the door doesn’t lock fully, but it was never a problem with it being such a small site. We both can’t stress enough how amazing the views are at Phil’s, truly breathtaking, and Phil’s hospitality was excellent, showed us round when checking in and made sure we had everything, even while he was dosed up with Flu. All helped us feel comfortable, and meant a truly relaxing and laid back stay, nothing we needed more. Definitely be back soon.

    Tom2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a get away this is it we loved it. We booked on a whim just a "this looks nice" moment and I'm so glad we did, we felt welcome and comfortable the whole time. If you are going in the later part of the year I would say take an extra blanket and duvet we did and it was a god send for a rainy night. The bed is a palette with thin cushions so anyone staying for more than 2 night like us may benefit taking some extra padding for the bed for comfort, otherwise it was great. Phillip was hospitable got the hot tub lit for us and was quick at responding to messages. The BnB is only a 5 minute drive into the town and well worth going to it's beautiful. The whole trip was amazing and we would happily go back

    Sam2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great location Fab beach opposite totally private our dogs loved it Same as everyone else has said on here take an extra quilt or blow up mattress as bed very hard Only one small frying pan so if you like a fry up take an extra pan We cooked on the fire pit which was great lots of wood easily lit amazing views Would recommend for a 1 or 2 night stay Geoff was on hand and very helpful

    Lynn2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The only issue with our stay was the weather! We couldn’t fault Philip’s service, the location or the tent itself. Just a shame we couldn’t use the hot tub to be honest! One thing I will say though is we took the advice of previous reviews and brought a spare duvet and pillows, this just made sure we were as comfortable as possible ☺️ will definitely be back!

    Chloe2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here. Definitely recommend.

    George2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a two-night stay at Phil's place and we had the perfect time. The tents are in an idyllic location, just across the way from the estuary. The space is peaceful and ideal for relaxing, despite the bustling seaside town of Barmouth just a few minutes drive away. The road below can get a little busy at times, but it is to be expected. It never interrupted our sleep. Something you might want to note when getting to the site is where it is situated - check out the road on Google Maps beforehand as it bears off on a sharpish corner to a little but fairly steep hill (our small 1 litre engine wasn't a fan!) The tent itself (we were in the one nearest to the shared bathroom) was cosy and had everything we needed for a short stay. There was also cutlery and cooking essentials in a storage box near the tent. We took notice from previous reviews and took a duvet to sleep on top of, as well as one for over us, and we had a comfy two nights. There are heaters in the room so we were always comfortable and warm enough. One thing we were particularly looking forward to was use of the hot tub which was lovely and warm when the fire was maintained. We used it twice during our stay and it was a lovely way to wind down and wrap our evenings up. Prior to our stay, I let Phil know that I would be using the trip to propose to my girlfriend and he was very kind when I asked if I could send a small decoration to put up after the proposal. We took a hike where I then proposed (to which was a success!) we returned to the tent which had been fully decorated with balloons, banners, roses, chocolates and prosecco! We couldn't believe how thoughtful our hosts were - it certainly topped off our entire weekend. Because of how happy we've been with our stay, it's hard to make any negative comment on the place. However, we would like to be completely honest with other guests. The only issue we had with the stay was the bathroom; the door didn't shut/lock properly - this wasn't a major issue for us as it was only two tents but we could see it being a problem for other people. We also found the light switch to be pretty temperamental. Otherwise, it was absolutely fine. Overall we loved our stay, and we will be returning again in the future.

  • This is the second time we have visited Sam’s lovely house. It’s so close to the beach and a short stroll into all the main Barmouth amenities. It was beautifully clean, and the hot tub was a delight, even in a cold and miserable stormy February. Sam is so quick to respond to any queries you may have, the house is fully equipped and we can’t recommend highly enough x

    Kathryn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • We booked Sam’s place for our first family holiday with our baby daughter. From the moment of Booking Sam was so helpful, the communication was brilliant throughout. Any questions we had, Sam responded right away. The house was easy to find, check in was super easy. We had no problem at all parking outside the front of the property which was important to us. The house was clean and had everything we needed including enclosed garden for our dog. Sam even treated us to a bottle of wine on arrival. The bed was really comfy and having Netflix in the rooms was great especially with it being winter. Big bathroom with nice bath and shower. Towels provided. The house is in a great location and so close to the beach. It doesn’t even take long to walk to the harbour. Co op is a only few mins walk away and we were able to get an ASDA shop delivered the day we arrived. Our baby is not walking yet but if she was, the house is very child friendly with stair gates and safety measures such as oven locks. We had a lovely first break away, we highly recommend this property for couples or families, plenty of space, clean, comfy, great location, helpful and welcoming host. We would return for sure. Thanks again

  • Lovely, spacious accommodation, which is ample for a family. We loved the hot tub and all the facilities at Swyn y Mor. Sam, our host, has been very helpful and quick to answer any queries. Bonus for us... being close to the beach and town centre and that it's dog friendly. Also, really liked Barmouth.

A Bright and Cheerful Victorian Seaside House with the Sea just around the Corner There is a station nearby and the railway is not far from the house - so you will hear the trains rumble. Perfect for Families, dogs welcome.
The house is part of a terrace and has three floors. It is a Victorian family house just 3 minutes from the sea. The ground floor consists of a bright and cheerful living room with 2 cream leather sofa's and Sky tv ; an attractive dining room with a large table and table football; a pretty kitchen (with an amazing chandelier) and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The back door leads to a small yard. Fine for desperate children and dogs to get a breath of fresh air. The first set of stairs lead to three bedrooms (two double and one single)and two bathrooms all very different, but well supplied with space to hang clothes etc The theme of the decor is 'Seaside and on the landing wall is a Seaside Trompe l'oeille. There are lots of books in each room. One bathroom is large and one smaller with a shower. There is a washhand basin in the back bedroom. The view from the front bedrooms (One single and one double) is of the hills behind Barmouth and on lazy mornings I count the sheep and the walkers while I put off getting up to start the day! There is a fire door leading to the stairs for the second floor. There are two bedrooms one single and one double with a small shower room and toilet. There is also a sitting room with sky TV. The house has full gas central heating and is both warm and comfortable You can walk to Barmouth station in 5 minutes. The Co-op is next to the Station and the Best Fish and Chip shop in Barmouth is nearby
Barmouth is a very small town with lots of Cafes Pubs and Bars. There are an awful lot of gift shops and a couple of brilliant antique shops. The beaches are white sand with dunes ( popular with children and lovers) The harbour has a string of cafes along side where you can watch the more energetic holiday makers and fishermen sailing and fishing. Children like to catch crabs with bits of bacon on crab lines and then hopefully set them free! There are also fishing trips for visitors. Spanning the mouth of the Harbour is an amazing Railway Bridge. You can walk over the bridge to the countryside opposite. Barmouth is on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and there are breath taking views of mountains all around. It is a centre for walking and climbing.
  • A brilliant home and host. Thanks Patricia! Holiday in Barmouth, everyone, as it is a great place!

    Luke2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was superb, although we didn’t meet her, she was so friendly and helpful via the app and couldn’t do enough. Thank you!

  • Lovely large house in a great location. It was warm and cosy & just a perfect base for exploring the local area.

    Mark2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect retreat with oodles of character, a wonderful host, loads of personal space and all set in the gorgeous little town of Barmouth. Patricia goes the extra mile to ensure that her guests are well looked after from the outset with selection of goodies to eat and drink after you have unloaded the luggage and made the first brew. The house has bags of space, it's central heated throughout with the added touch of supplementary fan heaters if you just want to warm your toes. There is a a modern TV with Sky package, a DVD player and a library full of books and DVDs. Upstairs offers bedrooms and bathrooms enough for everyone and all of the rooms have a 'seaside' feel about them and the quaintness/feel of comfy cottage plus, you can park right outside the front door (for free):-) We will be back!

    Mark2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from a great mini break in Barmouth. Iscoed is warm, comfortable and dog friendly, a Bohemian home from home. Patricia's lovely Artwork adds a quirky personal touch and we loved the food and treats awaiting us when we arrived! Would love to visit again, thankyou.

    Fiona2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spacious house. Everything we could possibly need was there (except a baking tray 🤣). Great communication with Patricia and a lovely welcome pack was left for our arrival. Great location.

    Beth2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from a glorious visit to Barmouth and this wonderful house. Yes the house is tired and in need of a little tlc, but that just seems to add to it’s character. The house is in an amazing position, and don’t let it being close to the train line put you off, because you don’t even notice them. It has everything you could possible need, including a welcome pack including bread, butter, milk etc. Truly a home away from home.

    Heather2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great house: spacious, warm, well equipped and very central. If I come to Barmouth again I will definitely try and stay here.

  • Anna’s place was perfect. Her communication was great throughout and though we were running a bit late she was there waiting for us outside to show us to our door! She had great knowledge and advice on the local area, and left thoughtful touches ready for us in the cabin. The cabin was very comfortable, warm and clean. All in all a great stay and hope to be back!

    Laura2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely cosy shepherds hut, with beautiful views over the estuary. We didn't know a shepherds hut could be this stylish! Anna was a great host - she met us at the gate, showed us round end even left thoughtful extras like Welsh cakes and marshmallows to toast on the fire pit.

    Runa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing stay at Anna's place, I needed a night away from the busy world and distractions so I took myself to the shepherd's hut and it was everything I needed. Scenery is beautiful even on a dull, cloudy day. Hut itself was exactly as described and exactly as it looks in the pictures, perfect small space! Loads of lovely little areas to walk around and explore. Wildlife and beauty in abundance. Anna was the perfect host, she met me at the gate and showed me to the hut, gave me a tour and answered any questions I had and even ones that I didn't even realise I had! 100% would go back

    Amber2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful location! The views over the estuary and out towards Cadair Idris are incredible. It stayed toasty warm inside even when the rain was lashing outside and we even managed to cook outside one night. Lovely thoughtful touches and a beautiful place to stay.

Our dog enjoyed it too and was mesmerised by the duck and chickens! We visited in December and even the rain couldn’t dampen our enjoyment. Would return for sure.

Lovely traditional stone cottage, built originally as a chapel in 1806 in the village of Arthog in the Snowdonia National Park with beautiful mountain views. 5 minutes from the railway at Morfa Mawddach-4 mins to Barmouth, or a fab walk. Just a few metres from the stunning Mawddach Trail, it is the ideal location for a wide range of outdoor activities such as hill walking, mountain biking, pony trekking and just a short distance from Fairbourne beach with its famous steam railway. Pets welcome.
The cottage is a converted chapel with original oak beams in the bedrooms. The modernised, fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, microwave, ceramic hob/oven and fridge/freezer. Free WiFi access and TV/DVD in the Lounge with Freeview channels. CD/Radio, board games, books, DVD and CDs.
Fairbourne Stores is approximately 1.5 miles away for food and drink and also there is a chip shop and indian restaurant. Barmouth is just across the Estuary over the historic railway bridge (walking and cycling only).
  • Wendy was so welcoming and helpful. Cottage was cosy and had everything we needed for an amazing trip. Location is ideal for a remote relaxing trip, but with easy access to Barmouth etc. if you want a bit more hustle and bustle.

  • Lovely cosy cottage in a great location, close to Barmouth and perfect for walking near the estuary. Wendy made us very welcome and everything is there to make your stay a pleasant one.

  • Wendy & Mark's cottage is beautifully located with a little stream in the back that you hear gurgling as you arrive, just a short drive from the beach, surrounded by beautiful nature ideal for walks (a bog just opposite with wild ponies, lakes nearby, ...). The cottage is beautiful with a practical and large kitchen (great for people like us who don't eat from outside), a cosy fireplace, spacious bedrooms with heated blankets for cold nights (we used them!). Lots of local tips provided, and the cottage also provides plenty for rainy days (boardgames, puzzles, music, films, books). Wendy and Mark are great hosts, very environmentally conscious which we considered a great plus, and they were kind enough to post out headphones my husband had accidentally left behind. We definitely hope to be back!

  • Wendy and Mark were great hosts. There cottage was in a great location for exploring the area with lots of things in walking or cycling distance. We were there during a storm but the cottage was a welcome haven, warm and cosy and sheltered from the winds. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed cooking in the modern well equiped kitchen. Wendy and Mark left lots of information for us but were on hand for any questions we had. Thank you. We will be back again.

  • A lovely cosy cottage in a very handy location. Wendy and Mark were wonderful hosts full of useful advice and very welcoming towards all of us including our two big dogs. Thoroughly recommended for dog owners due to the dog friendly nature of the owners and the magnificent walks from the door step

  • Lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful location. Spotlessly clean, nice touches like tea, coffee, milk and cereals provided. Host is amazing, Wi-Fi works and its great value, what more could u want. We would definitely stay at this property again.

  • Fantastic cottage, lovley host too and lovley location, loved riding my bike over the coastal roads and we all loved the walk over the bridge to Barmouth which we did everyday. Thanks for a great holiday, definitely will be back

  • Amazing location, plenty of walks in all directions right on the doorstep. The cottage is very well equipped with spectacular views. We have a large breed dog and found the cottage very spacious, comfortable and cosy. Perfect walkers retreat. Plan on returning.

Situated in a private tranquil woodland in the snowdonia national park, near seaside town Barmouth.
The pod has a double bed , table and chairs and small cooking area, a small gas stove available to boil a kettle. The toilet and shower are situated behind the pod in a separate space. The glamping site runs off of solar power, because of its location there is also very limited phone signal. WELCOME TO WALES The hot tub heats up by using wood, the first bag of logs will be provided A very special location
The pod is situated in a very private woodland around 5 mins from the main road and 10 mins from Barmouth
  • Unique place nestled in the hills of Snowdonia national park away from all the hustle and bustle. Hot tub takes a bit of time and tinkering with to get hot, but once it is hot, its amazing! You are sharing your space with sheep so might be woken up in the night to a baaa, but don't worry though they don't bite! Definitely recommend to anyone!

  • Lovely peaceful area next to beautiful Barmouth!

    Hannah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Just come back from spending 2 nights here. We arrived around 3pm wich I would advise anyone to do this time of year so there's still daylight. The place is really cool, in the woods on your own and the hottub tops it off. Make sure you take lots of warm clothing, dry and wet gear. It rained heavily on us at one point but if you're prepared it's all good. We went for a pub lunch in barmouth and walked along the railway bridge which I can reccomend. Overall for the price and experienceit's well worth it. Shout out to the two guys who get your hottub ready for you, I can't remember their names but they were very helpful and full of local knowledg. They even offered to chop our wood for us free of charge. Top blokes.

    Kenny2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for our stay - we had a lovely time! The hot tub was lit when we arrived which was a lovely touch. The perfect place for a quiet get-away and be at one with nature.

    Florence2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little getaway spot, hikes right on your doorstop, isolated spot with an incredible view of the stars on a clear night. Oh and the hot tub, brill - make sure to get extra wood to keep the tub hot, better to have too much than too little. If you stay in the winter make sure to pack a few extra layers too. We loved our stay here and would happily stay again 5* and great hosts.

    Haydn2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous time, Eco hut is adorable and was sparkling clean when we arrived, great location, we did the Precipice walk and found the locals very friendly, hot tub was an added bonus. Will stay again.

  • Really lovely hut in the welsh countryside. Very peaceful and secluded. The hut was very clean as was the shower block. The hot tub was amazing and just what you need in November. The hosts even heated it up on our second night for us coming back from our hike. It was easy to find with the instructions provided and car parking is a short walk. Barmouth is a 10 minute drive and has a beautiful beach.

    Karen2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great night for my partner's birthday. Nice and secluded, the hot tub is great. Bring your own drinking water as there isn't an on site supply. Would definitely come back. Thank you!

2A Cambrian street is a wonderful little cottage situated in central Barmouth, just set back from the high street at the foot of the Rock (old Barmouth) it is a wonderful location for exploring many of Barmouth’s wonders. Whether it’s a long walk on the beach literally 2mins or the coastal path which takes you over Barmouth Bridge or walking in the beautiful mountains at the rear of the cottage (Dinas Oleu). It’s also a good location to try all the local restaurants.
The cottage has lots of character features, there is a 21inch tv/dvd, The shower room is accessed through the bedroom, two seater settee and one armchair
Close to all amenities in Barmouth town
  • Second time staying here and was once again perfectly clean and a cozy place to stay.

    Sean2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little cottage, very homey! Chris is a GREAT host and very quick at replying to any queries! A lovely bottle of prosecco on arrival which is always nice! A great location in Barmouth, close to the beach, pubs, shops and car parking. Would book again and recommend to others - thank you Chris 😊

    Alexandra2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely cottage which felt safe, warm and welcoming. A perfect size for just the two of us and actually was bigger than we expected to be. Loved the decor and the amenities provided including Prosecco for our arrival. Instructions were sent when we were booked which were really useful and helped us to find the cottage straight away in the dark and rain! Really enjoyed our stay and our time in the local area. Although Barmouth is quiet at this time Of year, we explored and found local places to eat and things to do and the cottage is in the heart of it all. Would definitely recommend.

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal for a 2/3 day break, very handy location for all Barmouth has to offer. Great space for a couple ( we also had a small dog ). Chris made booking easy and nice hospitality touches such as prosecco and tea/coffee on arrival. Check in/out very easy. Apartment well set up and very comfy.

    David2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal place for a couple. Location brilliant, very close to town but far enough back and private enough to be protected from noise and footfall. Very quaint, nicely decorated and very clean. Nice touches from hosts, Prosecco and parking permit for long stay car park. Had problems with heating the first night, fixed by owners the next day. As mentioned in previous reviews bed was very small and there is a frosted partition between bedroom and bathroom which meant the bathroom light, when on, tended to light up bedroom. DVD player available. On the whole loved the property and would certainly would check first if this was free on our next trip to Barmouth. Barmouth - The Bank (restaurant) seems to have good reviews but we have never managed to get in there. Would prebook next time. Had great pub meals in both The Last Inn and Tan y Don. Laverbread Rarebit exceptional in the Belle Vue cafe.

    Sharon2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage in fact just perfect for what we needed.... Very fast response from Chris made some happy memories in the cottage and in Barmouth itself... Lovely locals who welcomed and showed our doggies so much love.....especially seeing Hollie (boo boo) is so poorly, we would return to the cottage and Barmouth again for sure. Thank you so much Chris

    Paula2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • I and my partner had a wonderful stay, regardless of my criticising (this is me being very picky), we really did have a wonderful time. Firstly the property is cosy, it is imperative you get on well with your partner, I can see it testing some relationships, for instance, the bathroom is separated from the bedroom by frosted glass- while sufficient this does not leave much to the imagination (my partner suggested curtains would be a welcome addition, however, I disagree and feel it would affect the appeal of the bedroom). The space is beautiful throughout, furnished comfortably and in many cases making creative use of the limited space! Another suggestion we had was perhaps adding a dining table or utilising the kitchen worktop and turning it into a breakfast bar.

    Sam2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We booked for a 3 night stay at the cottage which was wonderful, really wanted to stay longer tbh. It ticked every box for us, and getting welcomed on arrival with a bottle of bubbly was a very nice touch, we would highly recommend it, thanks Chris

  • Very comfortable and cozy accommodation in a great location. There is so much to explore around the estuary. Loads of beautiful ancient woodland walks by streams and waterfalls. We normally head for the hills but, apart from one day climbing Cadair Idris (obviously), we spent most of the time wandering around the valleys. We parked the car on Saturday and didn't move it again until the following Saturday - there was so much to do from the door! The cabin was the perfect place to come back to at the end of a long day, especially with the pub so close by.

    Steve2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in a great location. Stylish and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed for a fab week. Thank you!

  • Beautiful cabin with a cosy and stylish space. Wonderfully clean and fresh, thoughtful local tips and a really easy check in. Tom & Hannah were quick to reply and help us out with all our questions. Location is a short walk to the pub which has some great grub. About a 45 minute drive to Snowdonia which was perfect for us. We would definitely recommend.

  • Amazing place to stay. Really well equipped and stylish space. Lovely little touches along with the essentials of a powerful shower, comfortable beds and fast wifi. Excellent location for biking and walking. Local pub 2 mins away and highly recommend. Perfect location and beautiful scenery. Well definitely be back.

  • If you’re looking for a peaceful, cozy and beautifully stylish getaway, you’ve found it. The lodge looks wonderful and has all the amenities you need for a relaxing break or an action-packed getaway; hot bath, great shower, comfy beds, cozy sofa area with TV and a kitchen with everything you need. The decking area outside is perfect for sitting and watching the weather over the mountains, and there’s even a barbecue (though we didn’t get a chance to try it this time). There are thoughtful touches everywhere, from the Welshcakes waiting on the kitchen table to the Faith in Nature shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. The house itself is warm and quiet, with excellent WiFi if you need it. The George III pub on the waterfront is barely 2 minutes walk away and has nice food and drinks, and a lovely view.

  • Stunning views, amazing pub and a really nice place to stay

    Kurt2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot recommend this place enough, We we’re able to check in early to get the kids settled in time for bed, arrived to a sparkling clean, gorgeously decorated cabin, a bottle of wine and chocolates on the table (disappeared within a few hours of arriving). Lovely pub literally a stones throw, staff very friendly, lots of kids and dogs about so children were happy! Can’t wait to come back! Thanks again!

  • Had a lovely stay at this farm. The host gave clear directions on how to reach the place. The location was nice as expected and the house was clean with every amenities provided. It was lovely to meet the host as well. They were very hospitable. My friends suggested that we visit again in summer time. Also, the host’s responses on the messages were quick which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • The location is excellent for walking, cycling or just to relax. The accommodation was as described and great value. If you are tall, take care with the low beams. Great hosts with advice and local knowledge a plenty, if needed. The Granary was very cosy given the cold weather during our stay. Would recommend and would stay again.

  • The perfect location and the quirkiest little house! The host was fantastic, great communication and very friendly and warm when we were there. No signal/WiFi which we also loved! Location was fantastic, perfect base for exploring Snowdonia with walks right on your door step. The only thing I would say is the main bedroom is over the downstairs apartments living room and a lot of noise came through. I mention this if you are a light sleeper or have dogs who bark at any noise (like I do). Other than that it was the perfect stay and would definitely return!

  • Would stay again in the summer but not the winter! The forest area is magical and well kept. We stayed in the middle of winter and I don’t think they’re very well set up for this. We arrived soon after check in but the hot tub was pretty cool and with the small amount of wood supplied there was no chance to get it hot and no signal to be able to ask for more. There’s no heating in the hut, no cooking equipment and the bed’s uncomfy - all would have been fine if we weren’t disappointed about the hot tub! We didn’t meet the host but there’s obviously been a lot of time and love gone into setting up the site and I’m sure it’s perfect in the summer!

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Struggled a little with getting the hot tub hot managed to get it just warm but other than that it was well worth the money.

    Karl2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay despite the weather, but what did we expect or January. The hot tub took a bit of figuring out but once we got the hang of it was amazing. We did stupidly put the fire out but messaged the host and they replied back immediately and came up to help us fix it so thank you for the great communication and quick replies! Lovely hosts and a lovely peaceful stay, thank you again, we will definitely be revisiting in warmer weather ☀️

    Jessica2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time for my boyfriend 25th birthday, would definitely stay again but maybe not in January next time. Hot tub was lush, hot water wasn’t working in the shower but as soon as we got signal the problem was resolved, and some complimentary logs left for the inconvenience. Location is perfect and so private, big tip, don’t forget your wellies and a few lights. In Barmouth we visited Harlech castle and Rhaeadr Nantcol waterfall, went for a lovely meal at the last inn where service was Devine.

    Kendall2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, really secluded with only one other shepherds hut next door. It is a beautiful location in the hills with sheep coming to visit in the morning and many birds including owls although we only heard them. The Hot tub was amazing when we got it right. One night we only managed warm but the next night we got it super hot. It's a short drive to the nearest shops/bars/restaurants in Barmouth, which is a great place for a wander. It was pretty muddy so be prepared if it has been wet. Would definitely recommend if you want a simple no frills stay away from the world. Make sure you bring everything you would need for camping including warm clothes, sleeping bags, wellies drinking water and all your cooking equipment.

Our beautifully crafted shepherd's hut is in an exceptional location in Snowdonia National Park. Set in 45 acres of wild woodland and meadows overlooking the Mawddach Estuary, you will be in one of the most beautiful locations in Wales. The scenic Mawddach Trail linking seaside Barmouth and historic Barmouth is a short walk down our track. The mountains are all around, with sandy beaches, castles, steam trains, zip lines and bike trails close by.
From March to the end of October, Jones the Shepherd’s Hut is off grid in a tranquil and sheltered silver birch glade along with our three yurts. For November and December the hut goes on the move nearer to the heated washing facilities and electric hook ups on our small touring camp site, where there are spectacular estuary views. The beautiful Mawddach Estuary is a short (but steepish) walk through Graig Wen’s woods and fields. We have built the high quality shepherd’s hut to sleep two in style or a family of three or four. The clever design means it feels roomier inside than you would imagine from the outside, with plenty of space for relaxing and storage. There’s a full size double bed with proper mattress plus a day bed for chilling out which converts to bunk beds for two children if required. With well insulated walls and a wood burning stove, you’ll be warm and snug whatever the weather. There is a dining table with seats for 4 and a kitchenette with sink and cold water tap, gas hob, fridge and all the cutlery and plates you need to whip up simple meals. We provide bedding for the double bed including a sheep wool “Baavet” duvet made on a Snowdonia farm. Guests should bring their own sleeping bags/bedding for the bunk beds. There are warm Welsh blankets to snuggle under on cooler nights. Guests should also bring their own towels. We can welcome one well behaved dog to the shepherd’s hut.
Our holiday accommodation in Snowdonia National Park is at the heart of adventure activities and historic attractions for families and thrill seekers. You can go horse-riding on sandy beaches, mountain biking at Coed-y Brenin, whitewater rafting, or zip lining across slate quarries. Take the kids crabbing and climb castle walls. Wander for hours in our quiet corner of Snowdonia with just mountains, sky and sheep for company or take a steam train up Snowdon and join the crowds at the summit. Wild swimming spots, RSPB reserves, gorge scrambling, wildlife safaris, geocaching – Snowdonia National Park and North / Mid Wales offer all sorts of memorable experiences within easy reach of Graig Wen. There’s a great range of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants within 10 minutes drive of Graig Wen. From salt marsh lamb to Cardigan Bay crab and Dolgellau’s delicious specialty honey buns, you’ll find plenty to tingle your tastebuds! Dolgellau has an excellent butchers, artisan bakery, wholefood store and greengrocers as well as a couple of small supermarkets. You can visit “Sausage Sue” at our local farm to pick up freerange eggs, bacon and sausages. Every Thursday there’s a small market in Dolgellau selling locally made jams and baked goods, and there’s a large street market every Wednesday in Machynlleth (a stunning half hour drive through the mountain pass) which is good for fresh veg too. You can order fresh fish from the seaside town of Aberdyfi. You’ll find a warm welcome in our independent stores where you’ll hear the Welsh language being spoken – try saying Diolch / thanks! Those who fancy a craft beer or lager from one of our local breweries can buy them here on site. There’s a beach bar in Fairbourne or work up a thirst walking along the Mawddach Trail for a pint in the George III pub. Dylan’s new wine bar and shop in Dolgellau has an excellent range of unusual, good value wines by the glass. Or if you’re looking for a boozer with a great atmosphere to watch the rugby then we’ll point you in the right direction! You can do flat walks, scenic hikes or mountain scrambles from our door step. Whether your idea of a walk is a stroll along the sand or a day out in the hills, we can advise on wonderfully scenic walks for all abilities and all weathers. The same goes for cycling – you can get straight onto the flat Mawddach cycle trail from our fields (although it’s a steep push back up!) and we’ve got some of the most famous single track mountain bike trails in the world 15 minutes drive away at Coed y Brenin. There’s some fabulous road cycling to be done on quiet lanes in the hills surrounding the estuary – with some epic climbs and descents if you want them! John and Sarah are keen walkers and cyclists and we’re really happy to share some of our favourite routes with you. OS maps of the area are available for sale from reception.

  • Thanks to Tracey we had a wonderful couple of nights in Barmouth, the location of the property is ideal just a few minutes walk to the beach & even less to the pub (The last Inn) which I can highly recommend. The accommodation was spotlessly clean & kitchen had everything we needed for our stay.

  • This apartment is spacious and lovely. It is in a great location near shops and the beach. It's clean very well equipped and the beds are extremely comfortable. Perfect for us.

  • We are just home from 4 nights at this gorgeous apartment with our two children age 5 and 8. The apartment is spotlessly clean and so much bigger that I’d expected. There were two different types of milk in the fridge waiting for us, which I thought was really considerate. The apartment is in the perfect location, two minutes from the beach with the most stunning views. We usually go to Anglesey but fancied a change this year and we well and truly fell in love with Barmouth and the surrounding area. We’ll definitely be returning!

    Rachel2019-10-31T00:00:00Z

The campfire area outside makes the perfect spot for star gazing by night. The yurt has lighting and we can charge up phones etc in reception. The yurt is on decking in a private and tranquil space. Mark2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the small Yurt at Graig Wen and although on the pricey side it was well worth it for the incredible views waking up in the morning and comfortable well-equipped Yurt. There is a skylight, log fire and stove which make the Yurt very cosy and the site is very well kept including a hot shower right next door and eco loo which is kept clean. Also a choice of normal toilets/showers at main site 2 mins walk. The area is near to lots of great walks and seaside towns which are great for fish and chips, fudge and views- Barmouth especially. We also went to Fairbourne to Indiana Cuisine which I would say is a must- very glamorous restaurant with good atmosphere and delicious food 10 mins drive away. Great location also to travel to Snowden and Zipworld 1-1.5 hrs drive away. Welcome guide worth a read very helpful. Thanks John and Sarah for a great very special stay!

  • This was an amazingly beautiful place to stay. Great facilities available on site with very welcoming hosts. I would reccomend this highly.

    David2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to spend a few days the views and setting was perfect and not far from the mawddach trail. The yurt was cosy and had all we needed loved the time we spent there which unfortunately was cut short.

    Lyndsey2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • I came to stay in John and Sarah's lovely yurt for a weekend break with my partner. The yurt was brilliant, tucked away in its own little nook with beautiful views of the estuary through the trees. Cosy with just enough room for two. Impressed with having everything there for cooking that we needed. Good walking in surrounding area and we found it a good base for our planned walk up Snowdon an hours drive away. I'm sure we'll be back, this was a lovely area and a very nice place to stay with good hosts. Thanks!

    Claire2015-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was a such a great place to stay! Incredible location with stunning views. The yurt was very cosy and comfortable, and Y Graig Wen has everything you could need during your stay. The hosts were absolutely fantastic and so accommodating - even when we got completely lost trying to find our way! Morfa Mawddach seems to be a hidden gem in Wales.

A one bedroom ground floor Victorian Apartment conversion with a huge bay window over-looking the mouth of the Mawddach estuary and a Terrace to soak up the sunshine and enjoy the view. Everything is close by so you won't need the car. The beach is just a 7 minute walk across the park and the town is a 5 minute walk to all the shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs that Barmouth has to offer. As a dog owner I'm quite happy for you to bring 1 or 2 well-behaved dogs - Barmouth is very dog friendly.
The flat has a spacious lounge diner, double bedroom, kitchen and shower room. There's a Terrace at the front to have a barbecue whilst enjoying the sea view and a small, shaded private courtyard at the rear ideal to get out of the sun, park your bike or let the dog out.
Barmouth is a beautiful part of Snowdonia to visit. The terrace is in a quiet position, high above the road just outside of the town centre overlooking the park, but close enough to walk in to the shops, pubs and cafes etc. As well as the stunning beach and harbour there's a great selection of independent shops including a gorgeous furniture and homeware store as well as a co-op, spar and Iceland for food shopping which are just 5 minutes walk away. Unless you want to head further afield you can park the car on arrival and forget about it until you leave if you want to. If you want to get out on the when you're in Barmouth, try Stand Up Paddleboarding with SUP Barmouth. The waters here are perfect for it and the Mawddach estuary is number 2 on Red Bull's top 10 UK Paddleboard Adventures to tick off. Barmouth sits on a narrow strip of land between the mountains and the sea so there's loads to get outdoors for. There's mountain biking, walking and cycling all on the door step so let me know what you're into and I'll make some suggestions. Cadair Idris is a great alternative to Snowdon. It's never very busy and the views over the sea and Snowdonia are stunning. There's maps, leaflets and books in the flat for other ideas. If you're going out, you can't beat The Last Inn for food, good beer and atmosphere, Bistro Bermo (listed in the Michelin Good Food Guide) and the Bae Abermaw for an evening meal or Sunday lunch. Davy Jones' Locker for a coffee on the harbour, The Lobster Pot for breakfast and Isis for salads and pizza. Knickerbockers and Fudgeridoo are awesome for ice cream and everything chocolate. Goodies is a fantastic coffee shop that has a great breakfast and the most amazing home made cakes - look them up on Instagram! Try the Min Y Mor for a beer garden right on the beach (just across the park from the flat) and the Celtic Cabin for gorgeous street food right on the promenade. If you just fancy fish and chips, the Mermaid is great or try the Harbour Fish Bar and eat them right next to the water in the garden opposite the Last Inn with a pint! The restaurants often get fully booked at weekends and the summer months so do book in advance if you want to eat out. If you find yourself out of luck at 8.30pm when most kitchens close, The Mermaid serve fish and chips until 9.00pm so eat them on the benches in the garden opposite the last inn with a pint and enjoy the stunning view of the harbour. The Indian restaurant, Saffron is another good late option. The food is great here and you can always get a takeaway and eat it back at the apartment if all else fails. There's always a good night out in Barmouth whatever your tastes. There's live music in The Last Inn every Tuesday (open mic) and Friday night and The Barmouth Hotel also has live music on regularly, check the board outside the pub for more details. The Min y Mor often have a band on outside in the beer garden during the summer. If you're planning on a big Saturday night out, the Last Inn has a DJ from 10pm- 1am, The Barmouth Hotel also has a DJ and dance floor upstairs until 1.15am and we have North Wales' famous Nightclub, The Venue (its still The Sandancer to the locals even though the sticky carpet went with the refurbishment) which is open until 3am. Don't wake the neighbours on your way home ;-) More Restaurants I'd recommend. Nineteen57 - a short drive up the coast at Talybont Norbar - the thin crust pizzas are great The Anchor - evening meals on the harbour Min y Mor - Sunday lunch Myrddins - quirky little restaurant with a micro brewery on site with great ale The Bank - a great chef with an unusual menu. A treat. Captain's Table - Spanish chef serving good food. The steaks are really good

The views over Cadair Idris are exceptional and the cottage is cosy, warm and comfortable. Its a perfect base for exploring the wonderful local area and for experiencing total peace and quiet. We’d definitely come again!

  • Ela’s cottage is the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing stay in the Welsh Snowdonian mountains. Definitely need a 4x4 vehicle to access the place, steep and rough terrain drive up but it’s very worth it! The views are lovely, and the cottage has all the essentials. It is also close to hikes such as Cadair Idris, and forrest walks like Coed y Brennin. The welsh highlands steam railway is 45 min drive away which is great. Barmouth is very close, and has good places to eat, only about 15 min drive away. Even though the cottage itself is remote, it is close to some beautiful locations! We had a very comfortable stay here and would certainly recommend it!

    Lou2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic week at this lovely cottage. If you want peace and tranquility this is the place to go. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend a visit.

The kitchen has everything you need, including a percolater and french presse if you want coffee. Bedrooms v comfortable and incredible views over the mountains and water. Lots of information about the town and nearby places, and a short 5 minute walk into Barmouth. Would definitely stay again!

  • This is a great place to stay in Barmouth, with beautiful views of the bridge and estuary and mountains. We stayed in November when the weather wasn’t great and also the town itself was mostly shut due to being out of season. Having this apartment as a base actually made the holiday as it was a really cosy and comfortable place to be if we were unable to go out of an evening or if the weather was too wet and windy! The location was great and all of the communication in advance was quick and straight forward. Highly recommended :)

  • Fab apartment only 10minutes walk into Barmouth. Such wonderful views overlooking the Estuary and you can see the little steam train coming into the station where the Fairbourne ferry drops off. Lovely welcoming touches such as Welsh cakes on arrival. Stayed with my mother and my two children all of them loved it. The seating in the bay windows were prefect to watch the world go by, wish we had brought some binoculars to get a closer look at the boats, ferry and train.

Stay cosy and warm in this waterfront pretty, private, boathouse. It has it's own estuary side garden, wonderful panoramic river views from all windows. This romantic, quirky quayside boathouse is unique, individual and idyllic. Watching the river birds is always fascinating, as is the coming and going of the tide. Find out more at bryncelynhols for the best prices.
Enjoy the changing tide from the comfort and warmth of the boathouse. Peacefully set down a private drive, away from roads you can watch the otters, herons and kingfishers on the riverbank. With it's own private beach for BBQ's and access to many wonderful walks, it is a nature lovers paradise. In terms of activities for those who need to be busy, this location is exceptional. Being by the riverside the house is ideal for fishing, crabbing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing. All swimming and boating here is at your own risk and we do recommend you consult the tide table and use buoyancy aids. Some guests may bring their own small boats and these can be launched from the slipway at the Boathouse.
Thinking about outings and local provisions – deliveries can be arranged from super markets you can walk across the bridge to Barmouth to pick up supplies or frequent the local pubs. There’s also a terrific butcher in Fairbourne that sources local meat and a convenience store for most other basics. The most fabulous beach is close by at Fairborne, with it’s own mini steam train ride and golf course, the beach is frequented by the local pony club but even on Bank holidays you often find that you have the beach to yourself. If you’re looing for an adventure you can take a ferry across to Barmouth, to eclectic shops, restaurants and pubs. Enjoy the ferry as the views are breathtaking.
  • The boat house is a beautiful place to stay and relax in the mountains by the sea. :)

    Tom2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! Great for walks with good views. Take binoculars if you’re into wildlife spotting. The place is just like the pictures.

    Gareth2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Boathouse is a fabulous retreat for one or two people. It’s small but very cleverly designed so inside it feels quite spacious, with a good sized kitchen and neat bathroom. Also it’s warm and cozy. But the brilliant thing are the picture windows and sliding glass doors that bring the fantastic views of the estuary and mountains into the house. There’s a terrace outside, small beach and part of the garden behind giving plenty of space outside to spread out in good weather. And then you’ve got one of the best parts of Wales on your doorstep. You can find endless activities in the area or just sit in or by the house, watching the birds and otters feeding on the tide.

    Julian2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beyond perfect. A fantastic location if you are looking to get away to somewhere that is stunning yet quiet and remote. We would definitely return in the future. Could not praise the Boathouse enough.

    Harry2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best place we have ever been too! Honestly, I don’t want to rave about this too much in case everyone else discovers it, but Bryn Celyn feels like a little slice of heaven. Jayne was incredibly quick and responsive in all communication and check in was very smooth. She kindly checked in on us when the awful weather descended. The boathouse is beautiful, warm and comfortable. We’ll most certainly be back!

    Helen2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The boathouse is unlike anywhere else. An experience not just a holiday house. We fell in love with it and the seclusion and privacy. Only 10min bike ride to Barmouth over the beautiful bridge. We had long breakfasts and watched the tide and sand banks shift and change. We swam twice a day. We watched the sun go down with incredible sunsets and molten water. We read and listened to beautiful music and painted. The house is pretty well equipped for 2. Plenty hot water and the wifi works intermittently. Cosy white robes and slippers and comfortable bed. We are most definitely going back !

    Donna2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is something else. A hidden gem. It offers seclusion, wonderful views. Fantastic location for exploring both mid and north wales. Whether you want to chill out or get out and about the location is perfect and I would highly recommend it.

    Philippa2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at the boathouse. It was a real treat being so close to the water and all the wildlife. It is very close to the fantastic cycle path and really easy to get into Barmouth over the bridge. We can't recommend this property enough and will definitely be going back soon. We loved it , Thank You Jayne

Kitchen is well stocked so it is a great place to have a good value self catered stay in one of the most beautiful parts of Wales.

For the more energetic a nice brisk walk over the mountains to the beautiful picturesque sea side town of Barmouth to one of the many quant coffee shops
  • The stand out feature of this place is the amazing view. The wood burning heated hot tub overlooking the view is a wonderful experience. Philip is an excellent host and nothing we asked for was too much trouble for him. We enjoyed using the free bikes to cycle over the Barmouth bridge and along the disused railway line to a lovely pub. It should be remembered that it is a camping experience and we were glad that having read some of the previous reviews we took sleeping bags and other camping gear such as a wok and cooking utensils. The bed is hard so we used inflatable camping mats on top. The tent was warm and cosy inside because it had an electric radiator. The weather was wet and windy but we managed a BBQ in pouring rain and warmed up in the hot tub after. If you love the outdoors you will love this place.

    Janice2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing beautiful views, tranquil, peaceful and good amenities with fire pit, cooking stone and hot tub which unfortunately (due to passing through) I did not have the time to utilise!

    Matthew2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The views and the hot tub are amazing! Nice touches with the torches around the hot tub, could have stayed longer! I would recommend bringing an extra blanket.

  • Great location very friendly and helpful highly recommend

    Magda2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our new favourite place! The views are absolutely stunning and the hosts are so so friendly and welcoming. The tent is extremely well equipped - however we took an extra duvet, pillows and our own mugs etc (as you would if you were 'proper' camping) just to be prepared :) The hot tub is fantastic (and very hot!) after a days hiking to wind down and relax. Our dog came with us and he had the best time ever especially on the beach - we never saw another person down there so he could run wild! 100% recommend.

    Laura2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to stay! The pictures don’t do it justice. The hot tub was already on and hot for us when we arrived (Little tip - swirl the water around before you get in as it gets extremely hot by the pipe) you have everything you need there. Like other reviews, we took a quilt to pop under us as the bed is a little hard but nothing to complain about at all. Wish we stayed longer. Location is fantastic and also great if you take a dog like we did, lots of places like the arcades cafes etc let you take dogs in too. This is one of the best places I’ve stayed in a long time and highly recommend this to anybody! Thank you Phillip!

    Rachel2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay! The location is beautiful and the accommodation was perfect for our stay! The hot tub was an extremely welcome relief after a very wet and windy Snowdon climb! The Nespresso machine in the tent was an unexpected pleasure and the hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful - offering extra duvets, firewood and anything else we may have needed. The walk into town was 20 minutes and very scenic, and we went to The Last Inn for dinner following a recommendation from the host - which was brilliant. We wholeheartedly recommend a stay here - waking up and seeing views like that is a rarity (as is sitting in a hot tub under the stars with mountains and sea as your backdrop...)!

  • This trip exceeded our expectations, and the entire site was beautiful and well thought out! I have already recommended you highly, and I would also be thrilled to return. Idris Yurt was amazing, and it was beautiful (admittedly, we were spoilt with the Welsh sunshine and bluebells!!) It was great to have such a natural and eco-friendly experience; the tree bog was a fantastic surprise!! The entire site was well thought out and had lovely little touches that showed just how much John, Sarah and the team care about their place. There is a fantastic shop on site that stocks local produce, and you are provided with a map and suggestions of things you can do nearby. I honestly cannot wait to return.

Downstairs is a sitting room and dining room in one open space, with a low beamed ceiling. There's a wood/coal burner in the large old fireplace, and fuel is provided. There's a small adjoining kitchen. The small bathroom with a shower (wet room) adjoins the lobby. The kitchen and bathroom are spic and span. The cottage walls are almost a metre thick. A tiny wooden staircase, fairly steep, leads up to the two bedrooms. First is the twin, and this leads directly into the double. The beds will be made up with linen and duvets, but guests bring own towels. The wall between them is a wooden partition below the beam, and there is an open space between the two rooms above the beam.
The cottage is wonderfully peaceful. The nearest house is a farmhouse, around 500m away. There are around 6-8 gates to open and close (keeping the sheep in the right places!) between here and Dolgellau, the nearest town. Kids love opening and closing the gates! The drive takes around 30 minutes. The nearest supermarkets are in Dolgellau, or there are some small grocery shops in the smaller nearby town of Fairbourne. The land beyond the cottage was once owned by the Forestry Commission, so is covered with tall pine trees. I will send you very clear instructions about reaching the cottage.
  • Idillic little cottage all in its own, beautiful peace and quiet and stunning scenery.

  • Second visit to this very special place, was lovely to return. Full of character and charm, the cottage is simply but thoughtfully kitted out and in a wonderful spot. Everything needed is on hand; the kitchen is well kitted out, beds are comfy, bookshelves well stocked, fire is warm, history of the cottage fascinating and the hills and mountains nearby truly lovely. Hope to make a third visit sometime.

  • Wow! There are truly no words to describe this remarkably beautiful and remote cottage. We feel so lucky to have stayed here and sincerely hope to return for a longer stay next time. The cottage is truly magical, tucked away in a secluded scenic spot with only the sheep for neighbours. The views are incredible and the sense of peace and solitude so welcome and rare in today’s constantly demanding world. It was such a relief to lose phone signal and internet and to truly take a break from the screens. Our 8 and 9 year olds honestly didn’t miss the tv at all and soon we were all completely immersed in board games and jigsaws by night! By day we explored the beautiful walks from the cottage and our springer was utterly delighted with all the smells and paths the surrounding countryside offered! We can not recommend this beautiful property enough- but shhhh! We don’t want the whole world to know this perfect secret spot of heaven! Thank you John so much for allowing us to experience your beautiful house x

  • John was great and instructions were concise. Great location if you want to get away from it all for a bit. Phone signal patchy but we setup a hotspot once we found a nice bit of signal on the window sill next to the stairs.
