  • This place was the perfect location and the bed was so comfortable! They made sure to have some granola bars and amenities for us and after a delayed flight and rushing to get here it was much appreciated! Whatever you are looking for this place is the perfect starting, middle, or ending point! Mahalo! 🌸

  • This place is awesome, it’s in the perfect location in Hana, in the middle of “town”, and close to everything.

  • A lovely studio in an amazing location in Hana! The Airbnb is very close to the beach, and a perfect place to stay overnight if you plan on doing the Road to Hana. The king size bed and the spotless studio made for a very relaxing evening.

  • I stayed a night in the Sunrise Hana Beach Studio. It's a great little space for a solo traveler or couple. It was great to have this studio to go to after a day of driving and sightseeing. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable. There's also a little porch area next to the studio, a great space to have coffee/breakfast and listen to the morning birds. Check-in is very easy and the owners send very detailed information on finding and accessing the unit. The beaches near Hana are much more peaceful in the morning without the crowds. I highly recommend staying the night in Hana and this is a great place to do it.

  • Tania and Kaua's place is perfectly located in Hana. Easy to get to, very quiet, and a lovely place to relax at. No air conditioning, but it's very cool at night and good air movement.

  • Great, easy place to stay

  • Great, clean and comfortable place to rest and unwind after a long day on road to Hana! Our visit was middle of Feb and we were very comfortable without air conditioning... which was a concern for us.

    Shelly2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Do the road to Hana, eat at the preserve kitchen, and stay here! One of the highlights of our trip.

    Tammy2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to relax after a busy day in Hana. We loved the outdoor shower, perfectly clean set-up and hot water with the experience of still being outside.

    Katelyn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Top notch. Why just drive to Hāna when you can stay overnight and explore the next day before heading back? This is a great stay for 3 people.

    Andy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, great way to spend a little more time in Hana exploring. Loved the town!

    Laura2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tania was incredibly helpful to us before we headed to Hana and had an entire books of excellent tips in a binder on the counter. The outdoor shower is absolutely lovely and the space is very comfortable, especially after a long day of driving the Road to Hana. The sheets are AMAZING. Definitely recommend and will likely stay again when we come back next year. :)

  • Excellent location in paradise. Loved the outdoor shower and space

    Lindsay2020-02-05T00:00:00Z

Ever wondered what it's like to live inside a tiny house? Here is your chance. This cottage is waiting for someone that wants a long detailed exploration of Hawaii or needs a retreat from their life. Whether you're already on the island or coming from far away and want to stay in paradise, this place is ideal. We have bee hives on the land.
The Ocean View Cottage is a classic, 24ft x 8.6 ft long, tiny home on wheels with a deck that is also 24ft x8ft Decorated in rustic Hawaiian style with industrial accents, this cottage boasts expansive ocean views from most windows and the deck, as well as a view of the entire sprawling certified organic farm it is situated above. There is a full kitchen, full bath, living room, and deck. We provide 5 fans, one ceiling fan in the main cabin, one in the loft, a tower fan in the main cabin, a small, extra one, stored in the bathroom and there is one on the deck too. Please note we don't have an AC. It is too expensive to run on Maui and as long as we have a fan on us, we are great! This part of our farm is new. We have lived across the street on 3 acres for 12 years and those 3 acres are totally planted with, and now mature, fruit trees. In the coming years we will be planting these 6 acres. We began planting in early 2019. All the grasses have grown in and the flowers are starting to bloom. Your input of financial energy will help us to buy trees, care for the land, and build our farm infrastructure (Thank you, immensely). On this property, we currently grow about 1/4 of an acre of turmeric commercially and we will be constructing an agriculture building this fall (2019). It will be used to process our turmeric. We are just planted another 1/8th of an acre of turmeric this summer. Also on the agenda is to start planting fruit trees everywhere. The ocean and mountain views are extensive from this cottage. When there is wind this cottage gets great breeze and fortunately this cottage doesn't seem to have mosquitos. (cross our fingers it stays this way.) BED The cottage sleeps 2. There is queen-sized bed up in the loft (accessed by a ladder), and the "L" couch in the living room that can be slept on when separation of the bed is needed. There are windows 2 windows in the loft to allow a cross breeze when wind is present. There is a great 41 inch tower fan we hung on the wall so it covers the entire bed in the loft. I checked it out at peak heat on a sunny day and it was totally comfortable to nap up there. KITCHEN In the kitchen, you’ll find everything needed to make a gourmet meal—cast iron and stainless steel, and nonstick pots and pans, a 30-flavor spice rack, high-quality SHARP knives, and a NutriBullet SELECT 950-watt blender that blends kale to a smooth texture. We provide many different kinds of tea and whole bean Maui coffee in each unit. The kitchen has a french press and a coffee bean grinder so can enjoy the freshest cup of coffee possible. A beautiful natural edge bar on the porch will enable you to savor your surroundings while sipping you coffee or savoring your meal. There is also a small fold down table inside should you prefer an indoor experience for eating. THE DECK 24 ft x 8 ft wide. There is an 8 foot long teak "L" couch on the deck that is large enough to be napped on. There is a basket with two yoga mats and two long yoga cushions. There is plenty of space to practice yoga on the deck. The deck railings are great to throw your leg up on and stretch. There is an 8 foot long slab of local cook pine that we made into a bar top for you to enjoy outside eating, with two tractor seat stools. (the cottage has 4 stools if needed). The deck is very cool most of the day, but about 45 min just before sunset, the sun is low enough to blast the deck and it gets hot if it is sunny. I planted some bananas to block this afternoon sun. TELEVISION/CABLE/NEWS TV is not possible here as we are off that grid. We suggest you let your short stay here be about disconnecting and getting in touch with yourself, your friends, and nature. INTERNET There is solid wifi. The the password is swiftfish820. OUR LOCATION We are located in the heart of Hana, home to 5 of the most beautiful BEACHES in the world; boasting black, red, and white sands, with the closest beach less then 1 mile away. You can view them all in the guidebook provided in the cottage. A NOTE ABOUT VALUE to think about when you're reviewing, analyzing our farm, or dreaming of living here. There are a few things people don't understand about living in Hawaii esp. in Hana. There are a lot of hidden costs to maintain a life out here. When it rains it pours. We have to fix our road a few times a year after big rains, which requires tractor work. It's very costly. When we need new rock laid, imagine trucking that rock on the Hana Highway from the other side of the island. Then once that rock is laid, it can sink into the ground and disappears or gets washed away again and again. Since this is one of the wettest places on earth, composting happens very fast. Which means our buildings rot very fast. We have to paint every 5 years instead of every 15 years. A 30-year roof only lasts 15 here. Our cars deteriorate at an astronomical rate. The metal on weed wakers and mowers rot. Small motor engines break often. The salt air is very damaging. On the mainland, a person might by 2 or 3 lawn mowers in their life time. We need to purchase one every 5 years. My neighbor buys a new one every 2 years. Our fridges get rusty from the salt in the air. A new one needs to be bought every 5-8 years. There are termites everywhere, and we need to tent the buildings for spraying every few years. The cost of a building is about $300 a sqft. On the mainland, it's around $100. The cost of cement is $400 per yard. On the mainland, it is $100/yard. It takes us about 30 hours a week just to keep the jungle from taking over our farm. Rain, sun, rain, sun everything grows fast. Bugs get in, cleaning needs to happen every day in everyone's house no matter how fancy it is. Organic certification cost $1000 every year. When we need supplies, it takes us a 12 hour day to go get supplies from the other side just so can to live out here. We have to go about once every 10 days but it typically happens once a week. So that's a huge fuel cost to go to the store because we have to drive to Kahului. And then there is the property cost and insurance, we live in a hurricane path. So when you think of the value, please think of these things. The rental allow us to maintain the property. There are a lot of hidden expenses that renters don't think about. Help keep our ratings high so we can keep it up. It's a lot of work. We LOVE it. And we love sharing it with you. we are so incredibly thankful for you.
Our neighborhood speaks for itself. It's beauty and charm comes from our secluded location and the mountain and ocean views. You'll hear birds and bamboo singing, winds and rain, ocean pounding at times, sometimes kids playing, goats off in the distance, during whale season, Nov-Mar, we hear whales all the time. The famous Hamoa beach is 10 minutes, 7 sacred pools are about 30 minutes, red sands beach is 5 minutes, wianapanapa black sand beach is 2 minutes. There's a lot of local food. Soon there will be a few food trucks across the street from the farm. Kahanu Gardens, which boosts the biggest Hawaiian gathering place, in all the islands, is 2 miles away. The famous and largest lava tube in Hawaii is right next door.
  • This cottage was perfect! A great escape from the city noise, perfect for relaxing and enjoying Hana. The full kitchen with spices to boot was a nice surprise! We would definitely come back!

  • The tiny house was really cute. Right off the highway and easy to get in and out of on your trip. Would have stayed more than a night if we had the time.

  • Had a great stay! Home is right off the road to Hana

    Emily2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t find a single complaint with our recent two nights stay at the farm. The place was just adorable as can be, fully stocked with any amenity we could think of, and then some. We’ve already given several referrals to friends who are interested in staying when they travel to Maui. If doing the road to Hana, staying overnight opens the door of opportunities, and staying two nights affords even more! This is place was just the perfect amount of space for two adults and the mornings views were incredible. It’s felt like our own little private oasis. We are interested in staying again in the future for sure! Staying in Hana feels like I’m immersing yourself in real Hawaii, away from the more touristy parts. If you are considering you should!!! :) Oh! And we appreciated beyond words all the helpful tips and info we were sent beforehand by the owners. So helpful!!! Many thanks!!!!

    Lisa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome Hana experience

    Jared2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Staying on the farm was a wonderful experience. The tiny house is cute, clean, well stocked, and a convenient location. We loved our experience. The local guide to Hana was very helpful and helped us plan sightseeing priorities.

    Chris2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a sweet spot! Looking for a place vibrating with magic? Stay here. Friendly people with lots to share about what to do and where to eat in and around Hana. The tiny house is adorable and functional with a real gas stove/oven which makes for a fully functioning kitchen. Beautiful art pieces here and there and a big deck with couch (which you need because...tiny house!) It is situated on a working farm with a view of the ocean. We felt comfortable and welcome and at peace here.

This is the sweetest tiny home cottage in paradise you'll ever see. Our cottage is located on an organic, off the grid, farm sanctuary. The whole 2.5-acre fruit farm, including both cottages, are fully run by the power of the sun. Rejuvenate from life.
The cottage sleeps 2. But probably best suited for one person long term. Meet the "The Garden Cottage" The cottage is located among the gardens of our CERTIFIED ORGANIC fruit farm. You’ll walk from the parking lot, through the citrus orchards, to find this beauty tucked into our banana ally. (It's about 100-foot walk). It stands at the edge of our 2000 sqft turmeric field on one side and our seasonal river on the other. Our 850 sqft greenhouse is right out your door. This cottage is decorated in Hawaiian craftsman style with a tinge of industrial flair. It has parking in our main lot. A butler cart is provided to transport luggage to the cottage if needed. This cottage boasts mountain and ocean views, and a full detached outdoor bathroom. It's about 250sqft with the loft. Kitchen This is a full kitchen (minus the oven), not a kitchenette. You'll find everything you need to make a gourmet meal. The first thing you’ll notice is the beautiful blue grey crystal like granite counter top. It has a deep sink. There are two burners. We added both cast iron as well as stainless pots and pans. I promise you, our KNIVES are SHARP and well made. This cottage has a 30-flavor spice rack to save you the costly expense of buying herbs while you're on the island. There is an under-the-counter size fridge with freezer. There are 2 ice cube trays inside the freezer. There are a kettle, coffee grinder, and French press for your tea and coffee needs. We've stocked it with local coffee beans, tea, milk, and sugar. You'll find glasses for water, wine, and hot drinks. We tried to spare no expense in the kitchen and think of everything you might need, even providing a few Tupperware. You'll find the latest model of a Nutri-bullet blender. I researched a lot to find a great blender that does as good of a job as a Vita-mix. I believe I found it. The test is always whether it can blend kale to a smooth even consistency. This little blender can! See photos of everything that is in the kitchen cabinets. Oh, and there is a ceiling fan!!! Bedroom loft You must be in, at least, such physical shape as to climb a ladder. This unit has stairs but they are steep. They take you up to what we feel is heaven. The loft has windows in every direction and if you've arrived at night you're in for a treat when you wake up. There are three different lighting options and a tower fan that blows cool. You’ll get a good night sleep on our comfortable mattress and we have top of the line hotel sheets. We provide 4 pillows in two different styles. One of the styles is special and each edge of the pillow has a slightly different shape. Find the side that works for you. The loft has a low ceiling and it's not possible to stand fully upstairs. It's a space for sleeping, just like in all the tiny homes as seen on TV. But this loft has much bigger headroom than most. So you climb upstairs and slip right in. You can see the ocean and the mountains from bed. On clear nights star gaze right from bed is magical. And then there is sunrise. The birds are the best part of morning. It feels like we live in a bird sanctuary. Living room Has windows in every direction. There is a fan, couch which seats 2 people (too small to be slept on), an end table and a coffee table. Television/Cable/News. There is no way to have television here. We are off the grid. We suggest you set your intentions on disconnecting from the grid for your stay. It will probably be difficult for some, but so worth it. Bathroom This is a modern rustic outdoor stand-alone ¾ bathroom (no bathtub). The roof above the shower and sink is clear, so the sunlight comes in to give you an even more of an outdoor feel. It's so fun when it's raining. It’s magical to take a shower outdoors. You’re going to love this place. Aaaaand then there is the reality, you are coming to a lush tropical environment, which means wet, which mean mosquitos and bugs. Bugs go in phases. We just live with them. Some times of year are worse than others. This cottage has an outdoor bathroom. Most people are totally happy and others are not. It's about 3 in 150 guests that tell us the bugs were a bit much for them. It's so beautiful here, and that is the reality of here, it doesn't phase most people. Fruit trees We have about 150 fruit trees on the farm. Bananas, coconuts, papaya, citrus abiu and more. Note for long-term farm visits. You can feel at home here and relax. We are out of all major emf's as found in the city. Note: we are located in a rainforest the boosts 60-100 inches a year. To put that number into perspective, we don't have to water any of our crops. In fact, our veggie crops need to be in a greenhouse to protect the soil from the compaction of the strong rains. The unit has a huge umbrella for your use while on the property, and emergency crank flashlight, and fire extinguisher. This is a non-smoking property. A NOTE ABOUT VALUE to think about when you're reviewing, analyzing and dreaming of living here. There are a few things people don't understand about living in Hawaii esp. in Hana. There are a lot of hidden costs to maintain a life out here. When it rains it pours. We have to fix our road a few times a year after big rains, which requires tractor work. It's very costly. we live a 1- mile walk from Waianapanapa, the famous black sands beach. It's breathtaking. If you stay with us, go there first in the morning. get there before 9 am and you'll have the beach all to yourself. The tour buses start coming around 10:30. There are also of 5 glorious beaches inside 10 miles and about 1/2 hour from the seven sacred pools.
  • My wife and I had a great time. Susie and Randy were very friendly and provided numerous helpful tips about the trip to Hana and what to do and where to eat once we got there. The cabin itself was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and just a very cool and unique place to stay. I was a little wary of some of the reviews mentioning bugs and the driveway being a problem, but we took it slow on the driveway in our sedan, and the bugs stayed on the outside. The outdoor bathroom was pretty cool, too. It was a fun experience and a great value, and we would happily do it again, if/when we make it back to Hana.

  • Perfect getaway spot on the Road to Hana. Tucked in a quiet place on their farm, which we were provided fresh fruits from (damn good orange juice was made). Communication and very very detailed instructions and information allowed us to easily find this place and enjoy our stay. Highly recommend for people looking to disconnect from their busy lives, but do not recommend for people who do not like bugs. Will definitely stay again!

  • It was a great experience staying here! We love our stay there! We definitely want to come back in the future. We try to be neutral when giving feedback to Airbnb hosts as we understand that it can be difficult maintaining a space for rental. Pros: - Great location. 3 min drive to black sand beach, 5 -10 min drive to food trucks and other restaurants. I didn't have time to go to the lava tube but that's super close too. - Living in the jungle is the best! The house is surrounded by banana trees and other bushes and flowers. It has beautiful view day and night. I wish it was banana season! - Very quiet. All you hear is birds and insects. - The host was very nice and shared a lot of useful tips about Hana (things to do, places to eat. etc.) We really appreciate it as we both were first time tourists. Non-pros: (They're not really cons, just things to keep in mind) - There is another bungalow nearby. I guess we could hear each other because it's so quiet. It made me nervous going to shower and toilet. - Lots of insects. We found a giant spider near sink, and were able to get him outside the house. If you're scared of insects, well...it can be a nightmare. - The road to this place is bumpy, as explained by the host.

  • The Tiny house is perfect for after a day on the Hana Highway! You don't have to stress and you can explore the rest of the highway the next day. The accommodation was super cozy and you had your peace. The outside shower is a great experience and the bed was a dream. But you have to climb a steep, narrow staircase to get to the bed. Although there are a lot of mosquitoes around the house, there were practically none in the house. Just always close the door. I would rent this property again.

    Bettina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay away from the city! The restroom is so much better than I thought, it was clean and kind of cute!

    Tracy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great tiny house in a beautiful, quiet location a couple of miles out of Hana. A gentle rain provided a wonderful background to a great, relaxing evening.

    Emily2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing escape! This is the best way to explore Hana while having a cozy, relaxing home base. We loved being on the farm and only wished we could have stayed longer. The hosts were very responsive and provided numerous recommendations for the area.

    Lena2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Cottage was modern, clean and had all of the necessary items. Outdoor shower with plenty of hot water. Nestled in a tropical farm. Peaceful. Warm kind host. Brought us fresh fruit just picked from the farm in the morning. Bed was very comfortable. And it was amazing to wake up to rains, then mountains on one side and ocean on the other. Yes 360 view from the bed loft. Gorgeous.

Aloha! Please read the entire listing and view all photos prior to confirming your reservation... Located in the 'Heart of Hana', this stunning multi-unit beach house is nestled in the lush Hawaiian jungle with towering bamboo and fruit trees next to a natural flowing creek formed out of lava rock. Enjoy outdoor living at its finest in our unique island home! Soak under starlight, fall asleep to the pulse of the moonlit ocean, and wake up to birds greeting the rising sun.
The Sunrise Hana Surf Loft does not have a typical layout as homes do on the mainland, it is very much a “local Hawaiian home”. It has been designed with an open concept floor plan on the second level of a two-story home, utilizing outdoor living space. Guests have their own 1300 sqft self-contained unit with a private entrance, 2 California King mattresses, full kitchen, living space, 55" LCD Smart TV with complimentary Netflix, and wrap around patio. (*700 sq ft indoor and 600 sq ft outdoor). The back lanai has its own screened-in sunroom where you will find a sprawling king size mattress. Enjoy a hot bath in an extra deep soaker tub under the stars, or a cool plunge gazing into the vast mountain range and towering bamboo. The unit is equipped with a full-size fridge/freezer, purified water dispenser/ice maker, glass top range with oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle, slow cooker, rice maker, kitchen utensils/cookware/cutlery. Coffee, tea and non-perishable snacks are also placed in the suite for your enjoyment. A cooler, beach chairs, umbrellas are beach towels are provided for your use during your stay. Linens and bath towels are provided. Extra bed linens, 2 pillows, and a blanket are located in the grey trunk inside the loft. The loft does not have air conditioning. The house is equipped with many windows, proper ventilation as well as 7 ceiling fans. We are unable to provide laundry services during your stay with us. Two cats live on the property, they are not allowed inside the loft, however they find their way onto the wrap around lanai. They are friendly, excellent with children, and are cared for by the resident in the ohana. A play-pen and baby items are available upon request and must be made ahead of time to ensure we have them available for you during your stay. They are on a first come first serve basis.
I have entered 50+ places of interest on the Airbnb Guidebook that is available once you have completed your reservation with us. We are across the street from two beaches (black sand and white sand beaches), one which is less than a 2 min walk from our home. Dining and commercial retail are all within walking distance.
  • This loft is adorable and well appointed with everything we needed. Towels, wash cloths, extra bedding for the oversized sofa, NetFlix, internet, one car parking, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and comfortable king beds. The two cats were very friendly. Very clean and we will definitely book here the next time we are in town. Honestly, it was better than staying at Travaasa.

  • Going to Hana? U must stay at this place to get the full experience. We took our time and enjoyed all we could on the way, then were able to rest up at this perfect spot. It was clean, has everything you need, quiet except for the awesome tropical birds, really cool and comfy and Tania responded immediately to my one question. We then had the second day to venture further past Hana which we highly recommend. We are already planning r trip back and hoping to stay here again. Aloha!

  • I wish to stay forever in this magic loft ! Hana is the real Hawaii... and Tania and Kaua place its perfect to enjoy the best part of Maui. We stay in Paia and Kihei in our Vacaction and this place was our favorite!

  • Loved our stay here. This place is unique, spacious, and exactly as described. We melted right in to the oversized leather couch and enjoyed the flow of the loft. Directions were clear and step by step photos were extremely helpful.

    James2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is lovely and well-situated. The outdoor sleeping porch was wonderful, and our kids fell in love with the friendly cats. Our two nights in Hana were the best part of our trip!

    Molly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to stay!! LOVED the master bed being screened in so we could hear the ocean and sounds all night. Bed super comfy. Tania spoke to my husband for a while and shared more information after we arrived. Very pleasant. Everything we needed. Don't hesitate to stay.

    Tracy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay in Hana. This place made it super easy to just lay back and relax, which is the general culture of the town. This place was clean and cozy, we were even immediately greeted by the friendly cat on the outside deck. This was a tropical home away from home.

  • We always wanted to stay overnight in Hana. This was a perfect location. We enjoyed having a full kitchen and a separate bedroom. While there was no ac the unit is set up perfectly for breezes to flow through. If you are looking for a fancy expensive place this is not for you. If you enjoy living with the local folk and don’t mind the sounds of roosters and enjoy beautiful flora this place is great. It was the perfect location to head south to the Seven Pools and hike into the bamboo forest

    Isaac2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved staying here in Hana. It’s a very affordable option and had everything we needed. The room itself was very tidy and had several nice touches and artwork. It’s a bit outside of Hana town, so you’ll likely have to drive 5-10 minutes to most things - like beaches or food. That being said, it’s a very convenient location overall. We really appreciated the kitchen, which came stocked with pots, pans, utensils, plates, etc - our first night in town, several of the food trucks ran out of ingredients and closed early, and some of the restaurants in Hana close early, so we stopped by the local market and picked up some food and cooked it in the kitchen. It was great! Overall, we would recommend staying here!

    Adam2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was perfect and Rolene was very comminicative. Thanks again!

    Josh2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • To be able to stay in Hana was an amazing plus. The road to Hana is a challenge and to stay in Hana and continue to go south the next day to the National Park was a real advantage. We also enjoyed a sunrise on Black Beach which is nearby. Loved the big porch and picnic table at the apartment too. We stayed in Unit 3....it was great.

    Ruth2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Rolene’s place. We had everything we needed for a restful rainy night in Hana.

    Blake2020-02-12T00:00:00Z

    Vladimír2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend this space 100%. The accommodations were spotless and completely as advertised. Beyond what’s advertised is the genuine aloha and hospitality shared by both Rolene and Guy. They have an amazing cultural farm stand on their beautiful land as well. Please be sure to stop by, hear some stories and support local by buying some of their awesome products! Aloha!

Kolea, permit BBHA 2014 0001, timber built in 2003, spacious, well equipped and convenient for Hana, is surrounded by lawn carved out of the forest on our 11-acre estate bursting with flowers and fruit trees.
Our guests adore this home and write scores of lovely recommendations in our guest book. Some spend only a night, but Hana deserves longer. Two bedrooms, one with a queen, the other with twins. We can sometimes accept a fifth guest on application. With a generous lanai, 1,200 sq ft in all. All the equipment you'd expect.
Kolea has an ocean view from about a mile and 400 feet up the lower slope of Haleakala. Our road is a rural cul-de-sac with very little traffic. Hana's six beaches are between 5 and 15 minutes, and its two small stores about ten minutes away.
  • So wonderful to have an home like this as an option for overnight stays in the Hana area. Loved the location and helpful hosts.

    Shannon2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Robin's place! Falling asleep to the sound of crickets and rain and waking up to the sound of birds was really relaxing. We also loved hearing the geckos chirp (a few of them would attach themselves to the outside of the screens at night)! WiFi can be a little slow & phone service spotty but we were expecting this before arrival and it was exactly the disconnect we needed! The house is close to a small fruit stand, and right down the street is Hana Farms which has a restaurant and a bigger stand with fruit, banana bread, jams etc. The cottage is also a short drive away from Hana town itself. I wish we had several more days to stay so we could have also explored the farm/gotten a tour - two nights/one full day was definitely not long enough!

    Kimberly & David2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Robin were great hosts and this is an amazing home. It's very secluded, quiet, and private, but the house is easy to find as it's just off the main highway. Everything was perfect and matched the listing. They even provided detailed notes about things to do in Hana along with food availabilities and stores since those are somewhat limited in the area. Our stay was very memorable and we are looking forward to staying here again sometime.

    Jennifer2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage had an absolutely beautiful, well-maintained yard. Directions to finding the home were very clear and easy to follow even at night. Robin is a very kind and accommodating host. I would consider her home next time if it's available.

    Thomas2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed here before and it was a great place to explore Hana from. This year however there was a big storm and we could not drive out to Hana knowing there was a potential for roads to close and us to miss our flight. Note that this rental has a strict cancellation policy. I strongly urge anyone renting this property to obtain trip insurance when travelling to Hana in the winter. Disappointed I am charged a cleaning fee when I never stepped foot in the place.

    Sasha2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Robins place was in an awesome location and was very clean!

    Danielle2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place, great location. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Nadia2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was the perfect spot for us while staying briefly in Hana. Many people rush to drive to Hana and back in a day, but we decided to take our time and are glad we did! We drove out to Hana and then stayed at Robin's place. It has tons of space and the location is amazing - you feel like you are in a jungle get away! There is a neat place right down the road that sells breakfast treats and gifts that we stopped at on the way out of town the next day to complete the Hana loop. Totally recommend!

  • We loved our stay in Hana! We come to Maui often and always make the trip to Hana. We wanted to actually stay a couple nights this trip and this cottage was perfect. Great location (I see what people mean about the road noise but I didn’t think it was too bad), spacious place and we loved the screened in Lanai! The beds were comfortable and the shower was good as well. The only downside for us was how much you could hear the upstairs neighbors. Besides that we loved this house and we would absolutely stay here again!

    Sarah2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome beach house! Extremely comfortable!

    Rachel2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • I wish we would have stayed two nights!! Our last day in Maui we decided to stay in Hana after traveling the road to Hana. This condo was just perfect. I just love the slower pace of the town of Hana. After a long week of hitting vacation hard in South Maui, the day of rest in Hana was awesome. This condo has all you need!

    Raena2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space on the Road to Hana. The lanai with the day bed provided the most unique experience unlike any other. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a special place to stay on the east side of Maui.

    Daniel2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely retreat in Hāna. Great location and roomy place with lot of special touches to make your stay special. Sleeping on the lanai bed was heaven.

    Ingrid2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay on our trip around south east Maui. Had lots of bits to use (bbq etc.), plus they were really helpful and responsive to our messages which was great.

  • This place was the perfect stop for a couple of blissful days at the end of the Road to Hana. We had everything we needed, and the location made it easy to see everything nearby. The smoothies and ice cream from Guy's farm stand out front were a bonus too!

    Sharmin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exactly what we needed for our one night stay in Hana. We are a married couple in our 30’s and then place was rustic but with all the necessary amenities - coffee pot, large bed, refrigerator, and easy check in and check out. Minutes from Hana town - we had dinner at The Ranch and it was great food. In the morning we had breakfast on the lanai in some beautiful lush surroundings. It’s perfect for a simple stay.

  • What a cool place to spend a night on Hana. Nice little room and bathroom. Nothing big or glamorous but exactly what we needed and couldn’t have been happier. Bed was extremely comfortable and the room was super clean and quiet. A little hot with no AC but the provided a ton of fans. Felt like we got a little taste of life in Hana staying the night.

  • A great place to rest for a night or two during your stay in Hana!

    Angela2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is located on the central location in Hana and is very beautiful! We stayed here for a night after a long drive through ‘road to Hana’ and everything was too good. Rolene was very communicative and checkin and checkout process was very smooth. I highly recommend this place!!

    Chandana2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • good location, great farm stand on property

    Lisa2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Rolene is an incredible host! She was extremely quick with responding and very easy to communicate with. She went above and beyond in her hospitality and I am so happy I chose her air b&b to stay in! Also the space is much bigger and comfier than the photos make it look. It’s a really great set up and perfectly priced . It feels very safe on her property which was very important to me as I was traveling alone. You can have as much or as little contact with Rolene as you would like, & she is just around the corner in the front building if you need anything. It’s a perfect location if you are staying in Hana and quite honestly the only spot I could see that was fairly priced. I highly recommend staying here if you are traveling to Hana!

    Kendra2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Overall we had a very good time. The place has three separate rooms, we stayed in the 2nd one which was the sandwich room. The first night we had very loud neighbors which talked loudly until deep into the night. That was the only negative thing, otherwise this is a really good and clean place. Close to some beautiful places. Make sure to buy food in Paia or be at a Foodtruck before 7.30pm.

Hana is known as the last Hawaiian place. Our community is still predominantly Hawaiian. Hana has a rich history and the Hawaiian population in this area once numbered in the hundreds of thousands. Today Hana's population is under 2000, from Keanae to Kaupo, a 40 mile coastal radius. Hana Kai is centrally located and easily accessible. The property is nestled along the North side of Hana Bay at the entrance to Waikoloa Beach. Although we do not recommend swimming (except on very calm days), Waikoloa Beach is wonderful to explore and you can actually walk for several miles on the coastal trail to Waianapanapa State park. Hana Bay is a precious resource to the community and you may see fisherman netting Akule, keiki swimming in the gentle shore break at Hana Bay, dolphins and sometimes whales, turtles along the rocks or canoe paddlers practicing for an upcoming regatta.
  • Nice place and proximity with the sea is amazing

    Claude2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and spacious place by the beach. It’s well maintained and despite the lack of AC, we had a comfortable stay. Would go back next time we stay in Hana.

  • Well kept. Great view. Excellent service and hospitality. We asked the desk clerk for cribbage and she was nice enough to run to her home and get it for us. Made it feel like home. Lots of other nice little touches made it a great stay!

    Todd2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place took my breath away. I can't imagine that I will ever stay somewhere so special. Our family spent every meal on the lanai and I loved reading my book out there. There were a couple of rain showers that came through and it was such a cozy place to be. The ocean felt like it was all around us. We were there on a full moon night and watched the moon rise over the ocean. It was a little hard for my husband with the humidity not to have air conditioning, but we placed a couple fans in front of windows and that did the trick. Our six year old son loved walking out of the gate on the lanai to go down to the coy pond and play around in the grass. It felt safe, peaceful, and romantic. The beach feels a little wild and we loved walking along the rocks and finding little ocean treasures. The pictures were limited and I had a different idea based on them of what the place would look like and was surprised that it was even nicer than I expected. It was such a beautiful and special place with so many beautiful lamps and soft lighting and furniture. I will always remember this place!

    Alicia2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location, I don't think there could be a better spot for a break in Hana. The view out of the window to the beach is incredible, so opening the curtains means every day gets off to a great start! I think a lot of people drive to and from Hana in one day, but it's definitely worth spending a bit of time here to explore the area, it's a beautiful place and I'd definitely recommend this apartment as the perfect base for it. It's a very nice spacious suite for a couple, with a good kitchen, which is useful as there aren't many evening options for eating out in Hana (but the food trucks and Thai place are great during the day). The suite has a great deck and there is a lovely garden out front as well, there are a couple of nice beaches within walking distance and then a few more a short drive away.

    Ben2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location in Hana. You are right at the beach with sunrises right out your window and lanai. Close to great hiking. The room itself was clean with well equipped kitchen. We hope to return next year

    Tracy2019-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We stayed in the oceanfront 1 bedroom and it was exceptional. We fell asleep each night to the sound of the waves crashing and awoke each morning to the sunrise view from our window. The kitchen offered everything we needed to prepare meals. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was outstanding. The balcony was relaxing and had a stunning view of the ocean. This place is not to be missed if you’re staying in Hana!

Our cottage is a cozy little home with everything you'll need If you are looking to sit back and relax, or get busy in the kitchen in your home away from home! The Farm Cottage offers a view of exotic fruit trees, and flowers, plus a sea view on the horizon. Listen to the birds chirp in the morning, and watch the sky turn colors as the sun sets. Our accommodations are licensed with the State of Hawaii. Our license number is BBHA 2020/0001
We are located on a 5 acre organic fruit farm, Olamana Organics. It is a working farm, so you may see us harvesting avocado, and citrus, along with a variety of other exotic fruits. Feel free to take a walk around and enjoy!
We are located just walking distance to Ka' eleku cavern, or the "Hana Lava Tube". The stunning "Kahanu garden" is just a mile down the road. There are various food trucks, and "Hana Farms," that are walkable distances. Great for lunch. Wai'ānapanapa state park is also a short 2 miles away. All of our favorite beaches are 10-15 minute drive through the town center. An accommodation booklet is provided in the cottage to look at for food recommendations, safetly, and Hana/ Hawaii etiquette tips.
  • Ola & Monyca are awesome people and we felt lucky to have the chance to spend a few days on their farm with them. The cottage is the only unit on the property other than their primary residence. Parking is right next to the entrance of the cottage. The charm of the property and the area make this place unique and you have a distant view of the ocean from the living room. They provide great extras like beach towels, banana bread, coffee and fresh fruit & veggies grown on the farm. The owners were raised in Hana and know all the best spots to visit. Very unique experience when visiting in Hana. We will stay here again when we return!

  • Definitely recommended if you are planning to stay Hana. Nice lovely cottage with fantastic view of the tropical plantation and sea! We loved the brightness from the large glass walls. The owner was very nice providing us the famous banana bread and fruits from their own farm. It was fun checking out the tropical plants on the farm. Great experience.

Now offering DISCOUNTED nightly rates. Relax in the fully equipped 1 bedroom cottage with a full kitchen, living room, dining area, washer/dryer, outdoor shower, and a covered deck with views of the ocean and mountain. $209/night (includes the taxes), maximum 2 guests. Hawaii State General Excise Tax Number: GE-004-392-3456-01 Hawaii State Transient Accommodations Tax Number: TA-004-392-3456-01
*Two night minimum stay, although we will book a one-night reservation if there is one night open between the reserved dates of other guests. Our home is located in the rural town of Hana, on the East side of Maui. There are beautiful beaches nearby, including Hana Bay, a 10 minute walk away, and Hamoa Beach, a 10 minute drive down the road, consistently named one of the most beautiful beaches in America, where we like to spend our time surfing, swimming with the kids, and lounging under the shady trees. Lots of hiking to see waterfalls and swimming in fresh water pools, including Oheo (Seven Sacred Pools) that is part of the U.S. National Park Service and Waianapanapa State Park that has a cool volcanic grotto you can swim in, a black sand beach, and a blow hole along the coastline. Or just relax on the covered deck, play some cards, board games, read a book, or enjoy a movie or two via the wireless internet on your computer or tablet. There are many mom and pop places to eat, including a bright orange burrito food truck right in town with great burritos, coffee and pastries that is owned/operated by Andy and Tuna, a brick oven pizza place, Thai food stop, other 'plate lunch' stops, and fresh organic fruit and veggie stands where much of the food is grown organically right here in Hana. There are two main general stores in town to get most of your basic necessities. If you want a large variety of food to choose from though it may be wise to get some provisions from the main part of the island before you head out to Hana. Our favorite food store on the island is Mana Foods, in the town of Pa'ia on the North Shore, where they're loaded with fresh, natural and organic grocery shopping, a deli, bakery and vitamin room. Although, we also frequent Hasegawa's General Store and the Hana Ranch Store in town during our stays. The road out to Hana itself is half the treat, with dramatic scenery of the cliff-lined coastline, a couple of fruit stands (including a mobile creperie along the road in the jungle as you begin your journey!), and lots of hikes from trail heads off the road. As with any adventuring please be cautious and aware of your surroundings and weather conditions while enjoying the outdoors. A tip for the drive out to Hana, pack a lunch with snacks and drinks, don't rush it, and pull over for faster drivers if they come up behind you. There are many pull-out spots, the drivers behind you will appreciate it, and you can relax and really soak in the beauty. There is one gas station in Hana town, and none along the 2-hour drive from the main towns on the other side of the island, so fill up before you get here. Hana is a tropical paradise, which means it has little critters like mosquitoes or ants at times, and don't be surprised by the odd chicken or two, mongoose, (cows, there's a beautiful working cattle ranch) or other wildlife in an around Hana town and the East side of the island. Our home is usually nice and breezy, and we have quarterly treatments of the outside and inside of the home with natural repellents, so there should be little activity of small critters, however, closing screen doors and cleaning up food after eating is always a good idea. We have some mosquito repellent there if you need it, just in case. And if you have any problems please let us know. Our location is very convenient to the beaches, sites and stops in Hana, with great views, and as can be seen from the photos and mapping, we are in a residential setting. There can be some typical neighborhood activity including traffic on Hana highway, neighboring pets / dogs occasionally barking or local chickens that roam freely. We have a large redwood fence along the rural road and plantings around the property to make you feel tucked away. Feel free to get in touch with me to answer any questions you may have. The 1br/1ba rental rate is $209 US/night (which includes the state taxes of 14.27%), and a one-time cleaning fee of $45. You can reserve yourself online if you like. Maximum number of guests is 2. We hope you enjoy your stay!!! The property is owned and co-managed by Brook Y. Starr, a Hawaii licensed realtor. Maui County Vacation Rental Permit: STHA 2015/0005 State Taxes ID: GE-004-392-3456-01 & TA-004-392-3456-01 (General Excise Tax and Transient Accommodations Tax)
  • Brook’s place was amazing for our two night stay in Hana! Perfect for two people, and plenty of space! Great location. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in a quaint spot in Hana.

  • This is the perfect location and place to stay in Hana. We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it! We had a few problems with the keypad but there was a backup key so it was no problem! Highly recommend this cute place!

    Dre2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Road to Hana is best done over multiple days and a great place to stay while in Hana is Brook's place. The cottage is roomy, updated and had everything we needed (although a few more channels on the TV would have been a plus). With a fence and large vegetation around the front deck, the privacy was fantastic. And the washer and dryer were nice after hiking in the mud much of the day. Staying in Hana was a great experience and a stark contrast from Waikiki (love the quiet). Would definitely stay again!

    Todd &Amp; Juanita2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, clean, would stay again. Highly recommended.

    Denise2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem of a find! Darling little ohana right in town. We felt like locals for the 5 days we stayed. The property was very private even though it sits close to the main house. Nice privacy hedge keeps porch area from other’s view. We had everything we needed to make our stay perfect and would stay again in a heartbeat. The air conditioner in the bedroom was the icing on the cake.

    Patricia2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great location overlooking the ocean. Well equipped kitchen and smart TVs in living area and bedroom. (We were able to sign into Netflix for our favorite shows) first day we walked to the Cultural Museum and walked the beach at Hāna Bay. Nice place to return too after a 4 mile hike at the 7 Sacred Pools.

  • Brook's place was perfect! Great location, clean, stylish and Brook was able to squeeze us in last minute! Would highly recommend!

  • Was great! Super clean and updated. In a good location. Some other reviews mentioned barking dogs at night - which I did hear on and off during the night. If that's an issue for you, maybe sleep with the windows closed and AC on.

  • We wanted to stay in Hana rather than trying to drive the Road to Hana and back in one day and really glad we did, this property suited all of our needs. It's very well located, easy to find and has great amenities. The balcony was a great plus; we could fall asleep with the sound of the waves. Prices are all high in Hana (and we booked late) so this was a good deal in comparison. Be aware that the property is very much a hotel rather than a typical Airbnb experience.

  • Great place, plenty of shared washrooms to use, and hosts are very nice and available to chat and give recommendations! We also enjoyed meeting other guests from all over the world. Also super close to everything in Hana.

  • We booked a room in Hana's inn for our overnight stay in Hana. It was perfect. The room was sufficient for the two of us. There were two shared restrooms amongst 3 rooms and we never had to wait for a bathroom. The bathrooms were very clean and had all necessary amenities. They had a nice kitchen, however we used it to only heat some frozen dinner. The hosts were very friendly and they had a lot of tips for the guests. It is very close to places to eat (food trucks, restaurants, grocery store). Also very close to the black sand beach, which we visited for sunrise and had the whole beach to ourselves. We had a wonderful sleep with the of the waves , the wind and the rain in the background. A gem and we would recommend it to anyone doing the road to Hana

  • Incredible view and such a nice sanctuary. WiFi was spotty at first but it may have been my phone. And the shower was incredible 😍 absolutely loved my stay.

  • This place was a lot nicer than I had expected! The room we stayed in was sparkling clean and appeared to be very recently re modeled. It was very cool to walk around the small property and see the different fruits growing on the trees. If you are looking for a spot to stay after a long day of driving to and hiking around Hana, I would recommend this place!

    Brad2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely experience staying in this cozy spot! Located conveniently right off The Road to Hana and Hana town, it was the perfect spot to be on foot and use the vehicle to get in and out of town. This location had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant! I was most pleased with how simple and minimalist it was. We also appreciated how clean it was. After a long day of hitting the beaches and hiking, I enjoyed the beautiful shower that had plenty of shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes it's the little things that make it so fantastic! Our favorite part about our stay was having no TV in the room. After catching up on reading and planning for our next day, it was nice to fall asleep to the rainfall which happened on the daily - we felt lucky to have that as background noise vs loud neighbors, street noise, etc. If you're looking for a getaway spot to literally GET AWAY, this is the home for you.

    Stephen2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The deck is a perfect place to catch the Maui sunrise. A great stop on our road trip. Perfect for a quick stay in Hana.

  • We stayed at Markus & Irish's place for 2 nights while we were doing the various hikes and trails on the Road to Hana. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and the overall check in process was extremely easy. This condo is a perfect oasis if you plan on staying in Hana for a few nights. However, it is smaller than you expect based on the photos and has very few amenities (aside from the essentials - microwave / fridge). Thank you for a wonderful stay!

  • Sweet cottage right on a remote black pebble/sand beach. The location is amazing! The porch is a perfect vantage point for starting and ending the day. Sunrise is stunning. We walked and swam in the beach each day. The kitchen is beautiful, well stocked and easy to use. Good grill. Laundry facilities make for an easy stay. Rebecca communicated quickly and helpfully. We cherished our time here.

  • Wonderful location on the ocean just outside of town that was incredibly peaceful and amazing with the regular sea breeze and sounds of water! The small house was charming and had everything we needed. It also had a great wrap around porch and space outside for our three and a half year old to explore and play. The pebble beach just outside had neat “tide pools” to explore and we loved the sand beach a short drive away. Highly recommend!

Aside from being situated conveniently to local attractions and amenities, the grounds and beachfront surrounding of the home itself our stunning and can be enjoyed as a destination themselves. The host was extremely quick and clear with communication from booking through checkout and made the whole process easy and pleasant. I would definately stay again!

  • Staying at Rebecca's home in Hana was one of our favorite things that we did in the 8 days we spent in Maui. The location can't be beat! Her home was inviting and comfortable and you have an amazing beach basically in the backyard to watch beautiful sunrises. We highly recommend Rebecca's home.

  • The room was incredibly clean and the complex backs up to a black sand beach. Gorgeous views and very helpful staff.

  • This was our second time staying at the Hana Kai, and this time we had to stay for two nights instead of one. We love this place for the value. Great location in Hana, right next to a quiet part of Hana Bay. The view is stunning, and we loved watching the sun come up on the balcony with our coffee. Nighttime stargazing is highly recommended. The place was clean and stocked with kitchen amenities in case you want to cook (we made breakfast in the condo both days). We would definitely return.

  • To fall asleep , as the sound of the beach waves behind you ... my god . One of my favorite places I’ve stayed at in my lifetime

  • Everything was great! Excellent location and great tips for restaurants & spa nearby!

    Ana Laura2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great! Staying here let us fully enjoy the road to Hana without worrying about getting back the same day. Staying the night here was fantastic - it is a cute unit in a quiet building so you can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.

  • The condo has a wonderful location: it's next to a beautiful black sand bay and is about 45 minutes from the Kipahulu district of Haleakala National Park. It was perfect for breaking the road to Hana into a 2 day trip! Watching the sunrise over the bay from our lanai was breath-taking! The condo was large and sparkling clean, and the grounds were also immaculate. Highly recommend!

  • Beautiful views. Nice cozy rooms. Excellent staff. Perfectly located in town on Hana Bay. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Our cool Lower Residence sleeps 4 people with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Walk directly out into the beautiful private tropical botanical gardens!
Hana Gardenland, 3.5 miles from Hana town, is a lush paradise retreat with 5 acres of pathways through palms, gardens, flowers and jungle.
Quiet neighborhood. The lots are large so other houses are usually hidden behind the trees.
  • Robert’s place is a beautiful home that is set in a gorgeous botanical garden. We felt it to be the most spiritual place either of us has ever seen. It also allowed for very romantic evening walks. This place makes you feel like a local. Although Hawaii is a state, it feels like you have traveled to another country. We stayed in the lower level with two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen with everything you could possibly need. You can’t go wrong with this place as it is very convenient to exploring Hana. Aloha.

  • Beautiful house nested in the jungle. Just make sure you understand the jungle environment comes with things like bugs.

    Kevin2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's description does not lie or hide the truth. His property is in the tropical eastern area of Maui in a good location and is easily accessible. There are mosquitoes outside in the evening. Sugar ants may find a snack on the counter if food is left out. Geckos may be found hiding on the inside walls. This is to be expected. The place is in a nice setting, clean and well ventilated. It's a Garden House! Enjoyed it, we did.

  • My wife and daughter stayed here for two nights as our base camp for exploring the Hana area. The location is great as it places you just a short drive to many of the amazing stops along the road to Hana. The place is comfortable and well stocked. I would stay here again.

  • Great experience staying in Hana. The property was so awesome to explore. Everyone enjoyed it!

    Patrick2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Value for Hana was great. Yes there are critters around, insects, but hey it’s the jungle. The place itself was fine, and the internet was fast. Good place as a base to explore Hana.

    Justin2019-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great two nights at Robert’s Lower Garden house. It was more than enough space for our family of 4 and we loved the kids being able to be in the yard and take little walks in the neighborhood. Robert was wonderful and accommodating when we were unable to arrive on time due to an ill toddler- he graciously pushed our trip back a day at no extra cost and saved our Hana weekend getaway. We will def be back!

The space is a two bedroom, one bathroom, upstairs unit. The main level is completely separate from the upper level. Should your party be larger than 4 individuals, we'd love to give you more info if you would like to rent the main level, just ask us:)
Or just relax on the covered deck, play some cards, board games, read a book, or enjoy a movie or two via the wireless internet on your computer or tablet, or rent a movie from Hasegawa General Store and watch it on the flat screen TV in the living room upstairs. Hana is a tropical paradise, which means it has little critters like mosquitoes, cockroaches and ants at times, and don't be surprised by the odd chicken or two, mongoose, (cows, there's a beautiful working cattle ranch) or other wildlife in an around Hana town and the East side of the island. There can be some typical neighborhood activity. We have a large redwood fence along the rural road and plantings around the property to make you feel tucked away. Feel free to get in touch with me to answer any questions you may have. The upstairs 2br/1ba rental rate is $219/night (which includes the state taxes of 14.27%), and a one-time cleaning fee of $65. You can reserve yourself online if you like. Maximum number of guests is 4. If you have more guests in your party, we also have a one bedroom/one bath separate cottage on the property that sleeps 2. The listing number for the cottage is 762577, the address is 4873 Hana Highway. The maximum number of guests we may have on the property is 6, if you have additional members in your party please call or email us, we can refer you to additional rentals in the immediate area to accommodate everyone. We hope you enjoy your stay!!! The property is owned and managed by Brook Y. Starr, a Hawaii licensed realtor. Maui County Vacation Rental Permit: STHA 2015/0005 State Taxes ID: GE-004-392-3456-01 & TA-004-392-3456-01 (General Excise Tax and Transient Accommodations Tax)
  • This is a nice spot, with views out to the bay and a clean comfortable home. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is functional and its a great place to chill while enjoying a stay in Hana. Road noise, especially in the morning, can be an issue, but the sound of the ocean is also in the background. The property manager is responsive and friendly. This was our second time staying here and we'll probably come back again.

  • If you are looking for the perfect location in Hana, then you have come to the right place. Gorgeous views of the ocean and the red sand beach is about a 15 minute walk to the start of the trail. Would definitely stay here again!

  • A great place to stay within walking distance of food trucks, some beaches, grocery/produce stand... very comfortable bed and clean home with lanai and kitchen. Great communication if you have a question. We hope to stay again.

  • I was pleasantly surprised with the ocean view of Hana Bay from the outdoor porch and that I could hear the ocean at night with the window open. I also liked being a block away from Travasa and all of the restaurants in Hana. It was nice to have 2 separate bedrooms. We enjoyed all of Hana, the waterfalls, and the national park. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

    Lisa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I definitely recommend staying in Hana if you're taking the road there, and this is a good and comfortable option. It was nice to have A/C in the two bedrooms. There is a nice deck with a small view of the ocean. There were a few bugs, but that's because it's Hana. Overall the place was clean and as described. I would stay there again. Ideal for 4 guests.

Private and peaceful! Papaya, avocado, and citrus are grown on this one acre retreat. A short walk to beautiful Waianapanapa State Park. There is access to hiking on the spectacular "King's Trail", and a beautiful black sand beach.
This is comfortable Two bedroom and two bathroom cottage. The living room has a big sectional couch and big screen satellite TV. A nice night time entertainment after long days hiking, site seeing and playing at the beach. The yard is a great place to wander and check out the different tropical plants and fruit trees.
The neighborhood is made up of one half acre lots or more. this makes it very private and gives it more of a rural feel with all the amenities of living in town.
  • Beautiful place in Hana! Love the fruit trees and being surrounded by the jungle. Definitely will stay here again!

  • This place was everything! Arrived after dark and it was easy to find. Stayed here for a two nights to truly enjoy the road to Hana. Arrived late so traffic coming had died down and left early morning so no traffic on the way back to Lahaina for the remainder of our vacation. The place is cozy and conveniently close to everything. The property was beautiful. Especially at night you will see more stars than ever. No stove but we were able to cook pizza and most oven dishes right on the outside grill. We loved our stay! Thank you

  • Jody’s place is great! It is 4 min drive to black sand beach and the place is really clean and the furnitures/amenities look pretty new and descent, which is a huge plus. The fruits in the yard are so yummy, we picked up oranges and passion fruit on the ground and made our own breakfast. We can saw LOTs of stars at night as well. Highly recommended!

The Basic Plus - 2 Person Package includes: Tent, 2 sleeping bags, 2 pillows, and LED lantern with batteries. The $57 rate excludes Hawaii taxes. We provide only the camping gear. YOU MUST OBTAIN YOUR CAMPING PERMIT ONLINE FOR WAI'ANAPANAPA STATE PARK BEFORE RESERVING OUR CAMPING GEAR!
Hana Camp Gear provides only the tent packages. To camp at Wai'anapanapa you must secure a camping permit online from the State of Hawaii. Search for Waianapanapa State Park Camping. When you open the site, click "Browse for Availability". At the bottom of the list you will see "Undesignated Campground". Search for the date on which you wish to camp and it will show the number of campsites available on that date. If you wish to secure a permit, click the "Reservation" tab and follow the procedures. After you have downloaded the permit, we can approve your request to reserve a tent package. Campsite rates (paid directly to the State of Hawaii on their permit website) are: Hawaii Residents $12 per night for up to 6 persons; $2 per night for each additional person. Maximum fee per night: $20. Non-residents: $18 per night for up to 6 persons; $3 per night for each additional person. Maximum fee per night: $30. Children 2 and under free. Waiʻanapanapa State Park is located off of the scenic Hana Highway, about 3 miles from Hana town. The park features a spectacular black volcanic sand beach. The spacious and well-maintained campground features picnic table, restrooms, and showers. It's close to seabird colonies, lava tubes, blowholes, freshwater caves, and a natural stone arch.
The two grocery stores in Hana are Hasegawa General Store (closes at 7PM) and Hana Ranch Store (closes at 7:30PM). There is one gas station, which closes around 7:30PM and is the only gas station in East Maui after you leave Paia town. By the way, if you have a Costco card, the Costco in Kahului has the lowest gas prices on the island and can be as much as $1.00 per gallon cheaper than other stations. There are also a number of roadside stands and food trucks serving excellent inexpensive plate lunches. Our favorite is Braddah Hutts BBQ, located just outside of Hana town and open for lunch from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm weekdays. Hana Farms, located about 5 minutes from Wai’anapanapa State Park, is open from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily and serves delicious plate lunches and pizza. Open sporadically are food trucks featuring Thai and Mexican food. Nahiku Marketplace, located about 10 minutes before you enter Hana, has a number of food choices and is open during the midday hours. Restaurants in Hana include the dining room at Travaasa Hotel Hana, open from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM, and Hana Ranch Restaurant, open from 11:00 AM-8:30 PM.
  • Convenient way of getting camping gear and very close to Wai'anapanapa State Park.

  • Communication and instructions were very detailed. The sleeping bags and pillows were SO CLEAN and smelled great. Tent setup was easy, Dale provided extra snacks and toilet paper and a trash bag! We forgot to ask for a clip to display our site permit in the rain but I Macguyver’d the snack Ziploc bag into a sign holder haha. We had a wonderful experience camping in Waianapanapa and could not have done it without this rental.

    Mischelle2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Dale's tent equipment is very clean, the office was easy to find with his exactly route information and we had everything we needed for a wonderful night close to the ocean. After a warm welcome he gave us all information we needed. We would do this definitely recommend and do it again our next trip to Maui. Was a great experience . Surrounded by exotic flowers and tropical fruit trees, our two bedroom, one bath cottage has Wi-Fi, cable TV and DVD. There is a gas cook top, coffee maker, refrigerator, toaster oven and microwave in the kitchen with a propane barbeque outside. The cottage has a queen size bed in the master and two twin beds in the 2nd bedroom. You'll enjoy the splendor of the slopes of Haleakala while relaxing in your private hot tub on the covered lanai.
The cottage is located on a 2 acre tropical flower farm about 3 miles before the small town of Hana. We are conveniently located (just a couple minute) drive to Waianapanapa State Park. The cottage is private and secluded, however, there is a main house on the property. We do live on the property and are available should you need anything, have questions or would like tips on things to do or information about Hana.
The Tradewinds Cottage is located in a safe and quiet residential neighborhood.

  • Rebecca’s place was in a great location - it was a private oasis in the middle of the lush, tropical surrounds. Very accessible to Hana, local farmstands, and the black sand beach. The photos are very accurate to what the space felt like.

  • Great place to stay in Hana. Although a bit pricey, everything in Hana is quite expensive but the hot tub made up for it! Very clean and comfortable accommodations on a gorgeous property - you really do feel as if you were in a small forest surrounded by trees and flowers. Would recommend this place.

    Carole2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Rebecca's house! It was a perfect location for exploring the area. We especially loved using the hot tub in the evenings. The kitchen was perfect for making breakfast and packing lunches before spending all day traveling around Hāna. If you are in town on a Friday, you have to try the wood-fired pizza at Hāna Farms!

  • Beautiful place located in a beautiful place! Close to Waianapanapa and nice food options, this spot made a good base to explore the east side of Maui and was very comfortable. We would happily stay here again.

    Kat2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our tropical escape to Hana staying here! I wasn't sure why there were not many listings available in Hana (now having been in Hana I understand - total laid back, "old Hawaii", not built up, local town), but regardless, this place was perfect! The setting was picturesque, and we felt totally at peace and away from it all here - a great way to end a weeks stay on Maui. The place is located about 3 miles to town, 1 minute to Hana Farms (our favorite!), and 2 minutes from the black sand beaches at Waiʻanapanapa State Park.

  • It’s an amazing place at such a lonely place with warm people around the world! It feels like people from different countries lived in a big house, chat and eat together. Much better than I expected before I came to Hana. It’s clean and tidy room with shared four clean bathrooms. Owner has a eight month cute cat.

    Jinda2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Hana Inn was a perfect place to stop for a night and relax while in beautiful Hana! Walking distance to Hana Bay for sunset and only a 2 minute drive to the local food trucks that we love to hit up while in Hana. Gabby’s place is clean and the room was larger than expected from the photos. Sharing a bathroom was no problem w other guests...there are two full bathrooms upstairs and we never saw another person or had to wait for the bathroom even so the Inn was Fully booked that night. We would definitely stay again. We love Hana! 🙏🏻🌺

Hana Gardenland, 3.5 miles from Hana town, is a lush paradise retreat with 5 acres of pathways through palms, gardens, flowers and jungle.

  • Great to be surrounded by spectacular vegetation in a very airy house, which made you feel part of the jungle but with key house comforts

    Felipe2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • IMy family and I are from Kula, Maui and I have seen so many changes over the past decades and so a Hāna retreat was a great get-away! (Even though we were a little nervous to see the many changes that Hāna has also endured) Although we did not meet Robert in person, he was exceptionally easy to communicate with and he was very kind and curtuous to accommodate our needs. We stayed in the upstairs unit and it was beautiful to oversee the garden from that viewpoint. There were windows all around in the kitchen, living/dining area and one of the sleeping areas and it felt as if we were living in the trees. The home was very well supplied with kitchen, bed, and bath amenities, but you don’t need any fancy amenities and furnishings to experience the natural beauty of the house and it’s surroundings. If you’re expecting materialistic luxury, then this place is not for you and you’re also missing the point of what Hāna, Hawai’i is all about. The home boasts of geckos, which kept us entertained and we were lucky to have some rainfall, which was beautiful to listen to. It was warm at times as the day-time heat rose upstairs, but the fans kept the air circulating and we adjusted to the weather’s mugginesss. Mosquitos were abundant because you are in a dense vegetation, but we brought our citranella mosquito punks and they worked out just fine and kept the mosquitos away. Walking through the garden was an adventure, but you must make sure to be covered and have mosquito repellent! Otherwise, the home has a sense of “old Hawai’i, with its rustic charm and simplicity, which is such a RARE find! We will return to Robert’s Garden House again!

    Heather2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space! The gardens were delightful! Lizards were on the windows every night! Rustic in the sense it feels wilderness like! Plenty of fans to keep the airflow moving! Fun space to crash after hiking and exploring around Hana!

  • What a lovely, quiet & very relaxing stay. We loved going to bed to the sound of the waves crashing in the distance. It was great to get back to basics (no TV) & waking to gorgeous sunlight filling the unit which added to the farm stay getaway experience. We really loved the space, the tasteful yet simple decor & would have loved to stay another night. We highly recommend this unit for a quiet & relaxing stay after driving the road to Hana!

WELCOME TO HANA, MAUI ~ THE LAST HAWAIIAN PLACE HANA KAI MAUI welcomes you to our beautiful oceanfront vacation rental property on Hana Bay at Waikaloa Beach.
Unit #5 - Ka'ahumanu, at Hana Kai Maui, is a top floor delux oceanfront 2 bedroom / 2 bath unit with a king bed in master bedroom and a queen bed in the 2nd bedroom. Beautiful kitchen w/ porcelain tile floors, granite countertops, bamboo cabinetry. The living room and bedrooms have hardwood floors, expanded windows for a panoramic view of the ocean to the east and koi ponds to the south. Very private. Every detail has been considered in this, our flagship unit. Our oceanfront property features exquisite grounds, beachside barbeque, fully equipped kitchens, private lanais, and free wireless internet service. Many of our Hana condos have panoramic oceanfront views where you can experience incredible sunrises and moonlit nights while turtles and dolphins swim nearby in the surf. As you travel the beautiful Hana Highway through Maui’s untouched rainforest, you will be surrounded by breathtaking views, majestic waterfalls and a lush tropical landscape. Your journey ends as you reach the town of Hana. Here is unspoiled Hawaii, where you can relax and enjoy the true spirit of Aloha. The Hana coast offers some of Hawaii’s most beautiful beaches. From the black sands of Wainapanapa State Park to world famous Hamoa Beach, you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling or surfing close to your doorstep. Just eight miles away, the pools at Oheo Gulch (“seven pools”) offer great scenery and refreshing swimming in Haleakala National Park. Hikers will enjoy a panoramic hike through the bamboo forest to Waimoku Falls. The trails at Wainapanapa will bring you to fresh-water caves or take you along the coast to spectacular views where you can sometimes see humpback whales as you hike along the cliffs. Fill your day with a stroll along the beach, or find a quiet place to sit and enjoy the unspoiled beauty. Available nearby amenities include kayaking, horseback riding, tennis, dining out or a relaxing in-room massage. Hana is a place where one loses track of time, where mystical days and tranquil nights simply unfold. Hana Kai Maui offers an unforgettable vacation for you and your family.
  • The pictures don’t do it justice. My kids and wife loved it. Would recommend it to anyone.

  • We have been to Hana several times. This location is the best in value. The staff is beyond amazing. We look forward to visiting again.

  • We knew that the quality and cleanliness can be questionable at places in Hana, so we were willing to spend a little extra. We are so glad we did. The place was spotless, extremely esthetically pleasing, and literally right on the ocean. We feel we found the best place to stay in Hana. It was perfect. We will be back, again.

    Kathryn2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is really nice, clean and close to everything. I had originally booked a 1 bd and Susie upgraded me last minute to a 2 bd condo. The condo was really clean but it does have the occasional humid, ocean bugs coming in at night time. The condo had all the necessities needed to cook and my family of four had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Thanks!

    Erika2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wish we would have stayed longer! My husband and I live on Maui and has his in-laws visiting. This was the first time I have ever stayed in a house out in Hana and I won't want to stay anywhere else now! The view was awesome and was our favorite thing about it! You can hear the ocean all day long and have total privacy with the sliding shudders off the lanai. It gets warm without AC but the ocean breeze keeps it cool enough to be comfortable. Recommend this to anyone looking for a nice and truly relaxing stay in Hana (no TV-which adds to the ambience). Only suggestions we have is for the sliding glass door to have a screen on it. We had a few myna birds come inside while we were there when the slider was open. Also, we weren't always able to find a parking place because workers (housekeepers and maintenance) parked in the stalls down by the unit. It would be nice to have your own assigned parking stall so you never have to worry about not having a spot to park, especially when you're paying the amount you do. Otherwise, wonderful place worth ten stars!

The house sits in the middle of the 4 acres surrounded by lawn, flowers, fruit trees and forest. Guests are welcome to harvest the fruit and flowers. It is very quiet, and on clear nights it is like a bowl of stars turned upside down on our land.
Bedrooms have top quality beds, luxury linens, tvs and ceiling fans. Both rooms look out into the magnificent jungle. The bathroom has a whirlpool bathtub with a shower. The towels are big and soft. The kitchen literally has everything, all top quality. There is also a charcoal grill on the covered lanai. The eating area is outside on the covered lanai where we have a harvest table. There are stools for the kitchen island also. The living area inside is super comfortable, also with a tv and wifi. There is an AC unit and ceiling fan in the livingroom. This can cool the whole house down in a short amount of time if needed. Outside in the covered lanai is another living set up with a couch, 2 chairs and ottomans. This is the best place to ponder how lucky you are! A wonderful outdoor shower is on the back of the house, hot and cold water, fun to use! There are board games and a bocce ball set, dvd's, beach chairs and towels and boogie boards provided.
The house is located near the lava tubes, Kahanu Garden and Wainapanapa State Park (black sand beach) and is about 3 miles before the center of Hana.
  • Hale Noa is a peaceful, romantic, idyllic Hana Hideaway. Superb!

  • Andrea’s house was a great home base for our stay in Hāna. We were able to explore the beaches, parks, waterfalls at a more leisurely pace and have a comfortable place to return to each night. The house was clean and had a good stock of kitchen utensils for cooking. The property was beautiful and remote but easy to get to from the Hāna Hwy. There are many fruit trees on the property and we were able to enjoy some fresh fruit. We would definitely recommend it to others!

    Kate2020-02-05T00:00:00Z

    Brian2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint place is so well equipped in a town that is a bit off the grid. However, here you have wifi, tv, Netflix, etc. The kitchen is very well stocked with all you need to cook at home. What a great place to settle down after a day of touring or just swimming at the beach. We used the outside space for a glass of wine before heading out for some music and pizza at the outdoor restaurant/fruit stand a two minute drive away. We loved our trip to Hana and Andrea place on this majestic property only added to our enjoyment. Mahalo!

    Andrew2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home on a large property on a quiet unpaved road. The photos don't do justice to how nice this place is. I was happily surprised. It looked just fine in the photos but in person the decor and attention to detail and the fresh flower arrangement really made an impression on us. The garden is lovely, the outdoor spaces have many options for hanging out and relaxing and eating. The indoor space is nicely laid out and well supplied with things you might need. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space for luggage and other items I needed to have around. One of the bedrooms does not have an AC unit but the living room unit cooled that room off just fine. The ceiling fans and screened doors and windows were enough to keep us cool at night. It is just a few miles from Hana and just down the street from the Lava Tube and a botanical garden. There are fresh fruit stands everywhere. I wish we had planned to be there longer.

  • This house was in an amazing location. We went to Black Sand beach 5 times in 1 day, it was soooo close! The upstairs unit was beautiful online but walking in..... our jaws dropped to the floor and or smiles were so big. It was beyond what we expected! The little touches of avacado and bananas played out for us was so cute! It was sooooo clean, light and airy! We would go back a million times!... AND WE PLAN ON IT!!!!

  • Had an incredible time in & around Hana. This rental was exactly what we were looking for - cozy, quiet, near the beach, and not ridiculously expensive (as I was told - one does not go to Hawaii on vacation to save money : ) The space met our needs and I loved the full ping pong table on the deck, a rare perk. Check-in and check-out were simple, host communicated promptly, and I specifically appreciated the list of "Hana Recommendations" they sent over, detailing insider tips from someone who has been hanging out for a while. It felt like reading advice from a trusted friend. Would definitely stay again once we save up enough $ for another trip to Maui!
