Private self contained cottage in the grounds of a Georgian manor house in Crowborough. Cottage is a studio space with kitchenette. Additional single beds can be added to accommodate more guests in the shared space. With heated swimming pool (during summer months) and huge gardens close to the Ashdown Forest, mainline station to London and Tunbridge Wells. 40 mins to Brighton.
The cottage is a self contained open plan space on one level with its own entrance. There is a small kitchen and bathroom. It has its own entrance and driveway is gated. The room is fitted with a king sized bed and a single day bed. An additional single can be added but this does restrict floor space. The pool should be open from June till September weather permitted. I leave some breakfast essentials in the cottage fridge so that you are able to help yourselves in the morning and there are many supermarkets within Crowborough. I am a housewife with two children, during the school holidays we may be around using the pool and gardens but it is large enough for all to share. The cottage also has its own private Patio area. We have two dogs who are very excited about new visitors. Pets are welcome and the grounds are secure for them to run around. Crowborough mainline station is 10 minutes walk away which will get you to London Bridge in a hour, and the wonderful town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is a 10 minute drive ride away, the coast is 40 minutes drive.
  • Fantastic stay here. Beautiful cottage and such lovely little touches like orange juice, bagels and a selection of spreads for us for the morning! A great night sleep and lovely location. We will be back!

  • A wonderful welcome to a wonderful place, delicious treats as well! Was really very beautiful

    William2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place - bedroom/kitchen/lounge combined with a separate bathroom behind a heavy curtain. Stylish touches, an amazing bath, an outdoor breakfast area complete with chickens, an on-site macron chef and, of course, that outdoor swimming pool. Great location for Ashdown Forest and Ashdown Park Hotel (great terrace for cocktails). Mary Ann is a wonderful, helpful host. Our dog loved the place too (especially breakfast with the chickens!)

    Dan2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great experience with Mary Ann, she was very helpful and thoughtful. The space was comfy and clean. We especially liked the light breakfast that was provided, it was a very nice touch. Safe, gated location and the property was beautiful! Would definitely return

A former gamekeeper's cottage on the Sheffield Park Estate (now National Trust Gardens). A charming bolthole boasting a Clearview wood burner stove to keep you cosy in the winter, 18th Century print wallpaper, newly fitted kitchen and bathroom, TV and Wifi. Please look at our new venture on Airbnb Wagon in the Woods as well.
We converted the lodge over a number of years - carefully choosing the wallpaper (which is from America, using a print of the 18th century). It really lends itself to a cold winters - please bring your own wood & kindling etc for the fire
We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - just over an hour from London (Haywards Heath train station) - and 1/2 hour to Brighton. There are two fantastic pubs in the village of Fletching - which is a 35 minute walk. The Griffin Inn and The Rose and Crown. The South Downs National park is a 15 minute drive - and the historical town of Lewes is 25 minutes. Sheffield Park Gardens neighbours our land and The Bluebell Railway is also in easy walking distance. Forest Row offers a cycle hire facility www.forestrowhire.org - where there are cycle paths.
  • What a wonderful place to spend a relaxing weekend in! It is so beautifully decorated, cosy and comfortable, and the wood stove is such a great bonus! We loved our stay there and would definitely go again!

  • What a lovely, cosy little cottage! It is in a beautiful location. Sally was very helpful and on hand if we needed her, she gave us advice on where to eat in the area. Sheffield park is just round the corner, we hadn't been before, it was amazing. We ate at a couple of local pubs, the food and service was very good. We hope to go back soon.

  • Lovely little lodge. Fireplace was very cosy and easy to use. Nice location. WiFi was brill. Kitchen was good, nice little dining area. Lovely, friendly dog on site, the family seem lovely too. All in all, would recommend this place to those looking for a quiet escape.

    Kelly-Marie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to explore all that’s on offer in the area! Such a warm and cosy place to stay that this was our third trip here and I’m sure we’ll be back!

    Hannah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a weekend escape to the cottage. It is situated next to their family home (about 10m apart) and surrounded by woodland. Sally was accommodating of our late check in and very swift to respond to messages. The cottage is cosy, and having a bath and fire is an extra special treat. As previously noted, the toilet can be a squeeze if you are broad of shoulders. It is in a great location to explore East Sussex (if you have a car). We went to Sheffield Park and Garden which was a lovely place to walk about. The Griffin Inn was a cosy pub close by - on the more expensive side but the food was amazing and great views from their beer garden. Lewes is a 25 min drive away and we spent time exploring the castle and Barbican House Museum.

Garden Cottage annexe forms part of a charming 16th century cottage situated on the edge of the Ashdown Forest in beautiful East Sussex. There are country walks from the door of the annexe, and a bus stop at the end of the drive taking you to Brighton or to Tunbridge Wells. • We had a lovely time and enjoyed the gorgeous cabin, it’s location and Karen’s thoughtful touches including a birthday cake for my partner thoroughly, and we are very appreciative of the experience. Alongside cleanliness the place was also perfect for its amenities and breakfast package. Check-in and arrival was easy, and Karen was welcoming & kind as well as quick & efficient with communication. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept on, we were truly able to relax here. Would love to return. Thank you!

    Olivia2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! This place was absolutely beautiful, we didn't want to leave! Lovely location, it was so quiet and peaceful. Karen is a great host, both with her welcome to check we were settled, and with the wonderfully thoughtful touches and amenities she provides. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with everything you could possibly need, even down to the provision of tampons/pads. Very comfy bed too, which meant we were well rested. Thanks for such a wonderful stay!

  • This is a lovely hideaway for a romantic weekend. So many little touches that make staying there a pleasure. Would recommend highly.

    Andrew2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fab location. A beautiful little hideaway near Ashdown forest. Karen provided useful information for the area, and we were surprised to find some breakfast supplies and other little touches. The log fire was a big hit for us!

    Gwen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely, cosy accommodation. The thoughtful touches were above and beyond any place I've stayed in before. Everything was spotless and it's in a great location for exploring the area. Dot the rescue pooch is super cute too.

    Michelle2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s annex was beautifully decorated and very cosy! Karen has left us some breakfast and lots of little thoughtful touches - things for the dog and the breakfast treats and Prosecco were very much appreciated!! There were some lovely walks for the surrounding area that Karen had provided instructions on that we wish we could have done if only the weather had been kinder. Would love to come back in the summer sometime. Thank you again!

    Helena2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodate is spotless and in a great location. Sadly didnt have the chance to visit the local pub which is literally a few doors away. Amazing little touches such as providing breakfast.

Our home is just under 200 years. It can be a dusty house, if anyone is expecting a modern home this is not it. We are not a hotel but enjoy meeting people of all cultures. We respect your privacy. The bedroom does have personal items in it such as children’s stuffed toys. As we close down for summer due to visits from family. We like people to feel at home when they stay.
We have pets three cats one dog. Two runner ducks and three chickens You will have use of kitchen if you wish. This is a family home. We like our guests to feel at home. Please note we are not a hotel.
We live on a private road which we own. But there are another 8 old houses on this Road. Which by the way is unadopted. Everyone looks out for each other. My husband has lived in this house for over 40 years. It is old and dusty. But everyone that visits loves our home. It appears to have a calming affect on visitors.
  • As described on the box. But with something super extra warm welcoming caring and generous. The fabulous hosts. Great conversation full of charm. Well worth a visit to Annelly's.

  • An idyllic cottage in the countryside was the perfect setting for our Christmas getaway. Gill was great by giving us detailed instructions on how to get to the house, which was very helpful after dark! The house is beautiful and very clean! With a large kitchen that is well equipped and had plenty of room for the 6 of us. The living room was spacious but great for getting all cosy in the winter evenings. It was our first Airbnb as a group and found it to be a very positive experience. Couldn't recommend the place enough!

    Sophia2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The property is reaches at the end of a very long drive way. Gill, the host, gave us very clear instructions as to how to find the house and also tips for avoiding mud, given that it wasNovembwe. Mill House cottage is surprisingly spacious with a large kitchen equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Large sitting area with patio doors which open onto the paved outside space. Outdoor bench for alfresco dining during the warm summer months. The cottage also has a large separate dining room for colder months. The sleeping areas include an extremely spacious master bedroom with king size bed. Second bedroom is also a large space with 2 single beds. There are chests of drawers in both bedrooms and wardrobes in the hallway. The bathroom is fitted with shower, basin and toilet.

Stunning views and hidden gems to be found. Ashdown Forest, the largest free access space in the South East and home to Winnie the Pooh is a short drive away. We have the choice of two championship golf courses. The largest being East Sussex National only a 5 mins drive away. If your looking for thrills why not try Fly Sussex. This is the UK's largest award winning paragliding school, just on the outskirts of Lewes.
  • Indeed a cosy cottage but with plenty of space. The surroundings are stunning set in rural Sussex yet the location offers easy access to facilities in Uckfield & Lewes. Charlie was extremely helpful and responsive.

    Craig2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Everting you could possibly need. The cottage itself is huge! Loads of room and great crawling territory for our little girl. Fresh free range eggs, bead, butter and milk supplied. Cosy cottage- Charlie had been in to get it warmed up for us and put the Christmas lights on. We sadly had been delayed with weather and arrived after check-in but Charlie was so accommodating! We would heartily recommend a stay here!

    Lydia2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • It is a great cottage on the countryside. The use of a car is recommended. The cottage is in a beautiful walking area. An absolute must if you love nature.

    Erik2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie is so welcoming when she greets you and the property is beautiful in presentation and location. It was so quiet and peaceful which is just what we needed and, in addition to the already well-equipped cottage, Charlie had provided some extra lovely touches such as fresh eggs, bread and milk so we could have a welcome cuppa! The recommendations for a nice place to eat locally were also gratefully received. I cannot recommend this place enough for its comfort, space, cosiness and Charlie's hospitality. We will be back! Thank you

    Jenny2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is set in a beautiful quiet location is spotlessly clean, stylish decor and the bedrooms are enormous. The cottage is really warm and cosy there is a log burner we didn't use but imagine it would be lovely lighting that on a cold winter night. The fresh eggs (a couple of double yolkers), bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee and sugar was much appreciated. Charlie is an amazing host, check in and out was fast and efficient. I highly recommend this amazing cottage great value for money book now to avoid disappointment!

Contemporary studio conversion on a farm. Woodland walks close to the Ashdown Forest. The Tea Hut can be rented with Medleys Barn to sleep 7 in total. Situated between Tunbridge Wells and Lewes, this sweet property is pet friendly and there’s room in the garage to lock bikes up. There’s lots to see locally with loads of gardens and National Trust properties to visit. We have a wonderful pub in the village. The Hurstwood - delicious food. Must book if you’re visiting at the weekend.
The Tea Hut is a studio with a king size bed in the living area. There are 2 comfy chairs for watching tv and a Woodburner which we don’t use much as the underfloor heating works so well. There’s a little kitchen with a small oven, under counter fridge and a microwave, kettle and toaster. The shower room is big enough but not huge with skylight above.
We’re on the edge of the village. There’s a good pub called The Hurstwood which is a 15 minute walk away down the lane to the left of the drive. The Ashdown Forest provides 1000s of acres of footpaths just 5 minutes‘ drive away. Lewes is a fun town to visit stuffed with vintage markets and contemporary shops.
  • A stylish and cosy place to stay in a great setting. We saw deer during walks in the woods nearby and went for an amazing dinner in the Hurstwood pub. A great countryside getaway.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Little Dairy. It was an absolutely stunning location and the interior was decorated to a very high standard. It was lovely and cosy and the perfect place from which to explore the area. Caroline and Adrian were extremely helpful and even provided Cook frozen meals which was a very thoughtful touch and very needed given the Covid-19 outbreak. A perfect weekend and a perfect place to stay. Thank you. We definitely recommend it.

  • This barn is an amazing space just what we needed to recharge our batteries. Immaculately clean with very thoughtful touches. Extremely comfortable space with superb shower!

    Emily & Richard2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our little mini break to the little dairy. The finish of the little cabin is spot on, super comfortable and incredibly well thought out. The little touches like wine and chocolate waiting, and the fire already being lit just made it perfect. Thanks so much.

    Rachel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a such a lovely stay at Caroline’s Airbnb. The space was clean, cozy, and stylish with small touches that really set it apart from other places we have stayed (heated bathroom floors, a great shower, wine and chocolate, delicious breakfast pastries, a wood burning stove). Caroline was quick to answer any questions we had and offered quick communication. We loved the location as it was quiet and serene, and we especially enjoyed the provided binoculars so we could watch the sheep in the background! All in all I would highly recommend this place to anyone and hope to return again. The hosts were nice and friendly, the space was charming and cozy, and the whole experience was wonderful. We hope to return again soon!

    Linda2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The little dairy was beautiful and everything we could've hoped for for a weekend away in the countryside. The thing that made it even more special was the amount of thought and care Caroline had put into making the little dairy cosy and homely. Caroline was very quick to respond and gave a lot of guidance on beautiful walks and lovely country pubs/villages to explore.

    Ffion2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for the wonderful stay we had. The location is gorgeous and the cottage is so cosy and well thought out. We had everything we possibly could’ve needed and would love to stay again.

    Amy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Easily the best air bnb we’ve stayed in, this place is absolutely stunning. We were greeted on arrival by Adrian who showed us around the property and we were delighted to find the fire pre lit, wine chilling in the fridge and fresh bread ready for us. There is no detail too small that hasn’t been thought of and this made our stay so much more enjoyable. The property is immaculately clean, smells amazing and is exactly the cosy, relaxed atmosphere we were looking for. We really didn’t want to leave and would definitely look into returning! You will not be disappointed with The Little Dairy.

    Becky2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t be disappointed with a stay here. Everything is top spec & beautifully furnished. Perfectly clean & fresh. Every detail has been thought out from milk, bread & wine on arrival to a hot water bottle for those chilly winter nights. We wanted for nothing, although with such friendly hosts, it wouldn’t have been a problem if we had needed anything. If you’re humming & ha-ing, look no further - just book it. You’ll love it 😊

We are offering a beautifully converted barn, in a secluded spot about 150m from our house, at the bottom of the garden. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, living, dining room. We are happy to welcome one small, well-behaved pet. We are in the Wealden Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the Ashdown Forest - Winnie the Pooh territory - and within easy travelling distance of Tunbridge Wells, Eastbourne, Glyndebourne, Lewes, Brighton and London.
The barn is a situated on a quiet country lane and is a wonderfully relaxing and peaceful space to stay, very much enjoyed by guests who visit. There is continuous wireless internet access so the barn is suitable for business as well as leisure. There is an abundance of local wildlife that passes by including deer, rabbits, badgers and if you're lucky, owls have been spotted cruising the treetops at dusk. There is a tennis court and 3 acres of park-like garden that you are welcome to enjoy.
We are situated in the hamlet of Poundgate which is just off the A26 on the outskirts of Crowborough. From the barn, it is possible to walk into the Ashdown Forest (You must go in search of Winnie-the-Pooh!) within 5-10 minutes and similarly within 5 minutes walk you can be on the Crowborough Golf Course. The historic county town of Lewes is 30 minutes drive, Eastbourne is 40 minutes away, Brighton is only 50 minutes away and in the opposite direction you can be in Tunbridge Wells in 20 minutes. All can be easily accessed on the 29 bus which stops at the end of the lane. Slightly further afield you can enjoy days out at Bedgebury Pinetum with its cycling trails and Bewl Water.
  • The place was great, warm, spotless clean and the experience was overall amazing! The kitchen has everything and we enjoyed cooking there. The lounge is cosy and have movies you could watch. We enjoyed a movie night watching 007! Liz is very helpful and gave us maps as we asked her about the hiking trails! We brought our dog with us and he enjoyed his stay as well! Open the window door, he can run freely in the garden! We didn't have a car so it was a little bit hard to find the place in a taxi and it was late night. But if you coming by car it should be fine. It's about 20mins drive from Tunbridge Wells and cost £25-30 by taxi. But there is also a bus station near the place and we went back on bus to Tunbridge Wells station. Overall very pleasant stay and thank you Liz very much!

  • A fabulous barn with everything we needed. Lovely and clean, comfortable and easy check in/check out.

    Gemma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second visit and it never fails to deliver. The space is always clean and ready for us to just settle in and enjoy. I can not recommend this place enough. The rooms are really far apart from each other, offering privacy with two bathrooms - one with bath and one with shower cabin. We love the underfloor heating and the style of this converted barn. And can I also just say that the local pub is excellent with at least three fireplaces and great food. So... don’t hesitate. We will definitely be back.

Have an amazingly restful stay surrounded by trees in this wonderfully light and sunny bedroom with en-suite bathroom in a tranquil, modern house in the heart of the beautiful Ashdown Forest. The room has a calm, pale green decor and simple furnishings with built in wardrobe and a small desk area. The room gets the afternoon and evening sun and overlooks the gardens, feeling very private.
The perfect space for nature lovers, walkers, birdwatchers, artists and musicians. Our family home is a restful place situated in a quiet, stunning location amidst beautiful private botanical gardens with direct access to Ashdown Forest. Guests can enjoy a private terrace overlooking the gardens (see photo), perfect for breakfast or sunbathing. There is a kitchenette shared with other guests for preparing basic meals. Guests can also use the upstairs music room if it is free which has a weighted, hammer action digital piano with headphones.
We live 2 miles outside the village of Forest Row, so very handy for Michael Hall school and Emerson College. The local area has excellent biodynamic farm shops and health food shops, and Forest Row has independent shops, pubs and bars including the Hop Yard which regularly has DJ and band nights. They also sell delicious sourdough pizzas and have a great smoothie bar on site. A number of beautiful gardens are close by including Wakehurst, Sheffield Park and Standen. Gatwick and Lewes are 30 min drive away. Brighton is 40 min drive away. Glyndebourne is 25 min drive away.
  • I loved staying with Beth and her family in her beautiful modern home by the forest. The room was very nice and clean, I could always come ask if I needed anything and Beth responded very quickly. The view from the room is stunning right into the nature and the yard is so nice and big. Thanks again.

    Tanja2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beth and her family are so lovely and welcoming, stayed in their home as I was on a placement down the road, as I was working while I was there I wasn’t around too much but found that when I came back I could unwind and relax and sleep well as the bedroom was so cosy and homely! Extra benefit was meeting their dog and cats all of which were super friendly and enjoyed plenty of cuddles from me

    Dani2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Beth's was wonderful! The location is incredibly beautiful, with a magical garden that backs right onto the forest. While it is described as 2 miles out of Forest Row it is in fact more like 4. If your planning on doing it without a car I think this is an important factor to know as it changes a walk into a drive. The amenities were as described and suitable for cooking simple meals, although there is no official dining table so food has to be eaten in the bedroom or upstairs if the attic room is free (luckily for us it was :) ). Beth and Anna are super friendly and lovely, as are there dog and cat who we enjoyed lots of snuggles with. Thank you both for an amazing time away.

  • I had such a good time. The house is in the middle of the most beautiful forest, like Sherwood. The house is the little house, next to the big house, which is really big, and you wonder who is living there. Great room with own bath and kitchenette, all you need and more. A dog that looks like a minisheep and a cat, they both became my friends during my 4 night stay. Very nice conversations with the hosts. Fabulous airbnb!

    Peder2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing value for money in a beautiful family home. Beth and Anna will make you feel very welcome and it’s a stunning location for forest walks too.

    Bea2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Beth‘s place. The premises are outstanding as are the garden and the whole surroundings! Beth gave us a warm welcome and did everything to make us feel comfortable. She provided us with a lot of useful hints concerning places to eat and do things. Thank you again, see you again some time! Birgit & Clive :)

We had sole use of the bathroom across the landing and tea making facilities just outside the door. The breakfast of warmed pastries, cereal, fruit, jams..... was delicious. The house has a cottage feel and is wonderfully decorated. We would definitely recommend having a bath in the roll top bath.

The hosts responded promptly and the breakfast was deicious. The recommendations for dinner were also good. I can't fault the stay in any way. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!!

  • Laura is a great host, very responsive and very friendly. Her cooking is amazing! Laura's place is very clean and cozy, and great for a weekend getaway. Highly recommend.

  • If you want a romantic weekend away (even if "romantic" means having a little child with you as it is our case) in countryside, no need to look any further! Laura has created a cosy heaven where you will feel comfortable and super well looked after. Not only is the little annex beautifully designed, sparking clean and the kitchen is very well equipped (you can tell it has been set up by a chef ;), there are loads of little touches that will make you feel welcomed with love and care. And if you can, definitely let Laura cook for you a dinner (or two). She has wowed us with 2 dinners made to accommodate our dietary requirements and we have been eating her welcome chocolate cake even on the way home. We are glad to have found this gem of a place with a lovely and caring hostess!

    Pavlina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! The hosts were so friendly and efficient. We spent Valentines Day here, Laura cooked us a lovely meal and brought it over to us. It was a personal touch whilst also respecting our privacy. The annex is very clean and modern but still retains a homely charm. We had a lovely time even though it was wettest weekend of the year! You won’t be disappointed.

  • This little place is perfect for a couple nights away. Laura and her husband was very welcoming. Me and my partner are very happy with our stay and highly recommend it. We love a country side get away, especially in the winter time. It’s a very stylish and cosy cabin. We will hopefully definitely be returning again x

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s little cabin was a perfect relaxing escape from the city, clean, calm & rejuvenating.

  • Laura’s little house is an oasis of peace! I was very impressed with the design of the space and how every detail has been carefully thought through. The lovely welcome pack was another pleasant discovery, with the delicious chocolate cake and home made gin. Top marks for hospitality and thanks again to Laura and her husband for waiting for us for checking in and setting the fireplace before our arrival. It goes without saying we’ll be back soon! Tom & Alice

  • Laura’s annex is wonderful - a cozy base that was really welcoming to come home to after days out exploring the area. Laura has thought of everything, the kitchen is really well stocked if you like to cook and the welcome pack that was provided was delicious. The annex was clean, cozy and modern, the bed especially is very comfortable. Laura was a great host, and gave us recommendations for where to eat locally, and even recommended a garage when we had a slow leak in one of our tyres! This is a great place to stay and we’d definitely stay again if we come back to the area!

    Ella2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place was the perfect getaway for 2 over Christmas. The house is set in at the back of the main house and was private and gave a sense of being in the countryside. The amenities were outstanding. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, the bathroom and bed were luxurious. We particularly enjoyed the log burner. Laura is a keen cook and we enjoyed the complimentary chocolate cake and gin. If you can , order one of her meals ! Highly recommended !

The Stables, is set in 80 acres of glorious English countryside, one mile east of Ashdown Forest in the High Weald area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Originally a Victorian farm, the stables has been beautifully converted to offer home from home. The pretty country garden looks out across the wildflower meadows to the beautiful private woods, that is accessible to visitors. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).
The Stables is very cosy with a log burning stove , perfect for relaxing in front of after a lovely walk. We have tried to cater for all your needs while staying with us.
  • We had a fabulous stay, Lucy is great host, the Stables have been converted beautifully and have lovely views across the fields and woods.

  • The stables were incredible. Do not hesitate to book to stay...nothing prepares you for the stunning view of the private land on arrival. The whole place had everything you could possibly want and Lucy and Freddie were so caring and helpful. Lucy welcomed us on arrival despite us being late and Freddie even collected us Pooh-sticks for our expoo-dition! We will not hesitate to come back to stay, when next visiting the area. Thank you very much. X

A small house in the garden which now houses a bedroom with double bed and a very small en suite shower and lavatory. There is good internet connection and a TV. Outside area for sitting out. On the edge of the Ashdown Forest and near to Glyndebourne. Lots of walks nearby as well as National Trust properties and the Bluebell Railway. There is an electric car charge point and use of a pool which will be shared with the owners. Our pool is only available during the summer months.
Separate building which is independent from the main house so giving privacy.
We are down a peaceful track shared with two other houses. There is open farmland beyond our house and a footpath which can take you to the pretty village of Fletching and a great pub.

  • Quiet, lovely bedroom and bathroom unit tucked away from the main road, surrounded by farmland. The rooms were sparkling clean, and an electric kettle was available with coffee and tea. The bed was very comfortable and the space was warm. It really was picturesque. Our host was promptly responsive to any question we had leading up to the booking. She was helpful, charming, and warm throughout our stay, whenever we encountered her. This was easily one of our favorite AirBnB's and hosts we've ever had, and we'd happily stay here again!

Cosy, country cottage set in the middle of the Ashdown Forest. Perfect for immersing yourself in the World of Pooh Bear, enjoying countryside walks, and recovering with a beer or two at one of the local country pubs. Also located close to multiple National Trust properties, the Bluebell Railway, local villages Hartfield and Forest Row, and a 15-minute drive to East Grinstead, 25-minutes to Tunbridge Wells, and 60-minutes to Brighton. Off street parking is for one car, or two cars upon request.
Fully contained cottage, with everything you need for a relaxing weekend away, through to a longer term stay. The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook up a full breakfast or dinner. The bedroom has hanging space for shirts, through to a chest of drawers for clothes and a dressing table with mirror. Complimentary shampoo and conditioner can be found in the bathroom, and wifi is free and available to use throughout your stay. Upon request, the sofa on the ground floor level can convert to a sofa bed for one person for a small extra charge. Indulge in the luxuries of dressing gowns, a wood burner on colder days, and your own private deck to enjoy the countryside. Relax to the sound of the steam, or curl up on the sofa and enjoy a film or two from the collection of DVDs.
Forest Row, has every essential you need and is a 5-minute drive away with some cute coffee shops, delis, convenience stores and restaurants. The local butcher in Hartfield is fantastic, also a 5-minute drive away, where you will also find Pooh Corner, the Winnie the Pooh shop and cafe. Walking over Ashdown Forest is straight from the back door of The Piggery and are approximately a 1-2mile walk from all the main Winnie the Pooh sites. You won't be short on pubs to visit, and we have a couple very close by (within 2 miles) that we'd highly recommend.
  • We spent a wonderfully relaxing weekend at The Piggery. Such a cosy, romantic hideaway, in a beautiful wild setting. Jenny responded to any questions we had almost immediately prior to our visit, her offer of stocking the fridge along with lighting the wood burner before we arrived made this a very special stay. We’d definitely like to return to experience this beautiful place during another season. Thank you Jenny.

  • Jenny's place is incredible! It is one of the best cottages we have stayed in; the location is great and there are lots of little touches which make it really special. The log burner is great and all the puzzles/DVDs mean you could never run out of things to do even if you never left the cottage! Thank you so much for having us x

    Maria2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down, the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The location is magical (it has its own stream), the mezzanine is really cosy, the kitchen and bathroom are perfectly kitted out, and it’s a struggle to leave the living space as it’s just so comfy. The surrounding area is great for walking, and there are pubs and shops a short walk/drive away. Jenny was a lovely host and made us feel really welcome. We’ll be back in the summer.

The bird life is astounding.
  • Our stay at Jo's cosy cottage was lovely. Jo was very accommodating, she is quick to respond and was so helpful when it came to exploring the area. The cottage itself was very clean, it had everything we needed for a little getaway and even though some nights were so cold outside, we were very warm and snug inside. The location is great, our dogs had such a fantastic time because the forest is literally down the drive and the walks were endless!

The Barn at Glebe is a spacious, completely self contained, two bedroom cottage in Fletching. Surrounded by a large walled garden, and in the grounds of an historic country house, the barn offers a chance to escape to the country and explore this beautiful area. Furnished with antiques and quality finishes, you can curl up in front of the log fire, cook up a storm or have a wine in the garden whilst planning a country walk with your dog. Breakfast provisions are plentiful and luxurious.
The barn is in the centre of the village, opposite the historic 14th century church and only a short walk from exquisite country pubs, the cricket ground and lovely long country walks.
Fletching is an undiscovered jewel deep in the East Sussex countryside. Only eight minutes drive from Uckfield, twenty minutes from Lewes and fifteen minutes from Haywards Health, Fletching is conveniently situated for local towns and markets and train links to London (45 minutes) and Gatwick airport (20 minutes) but maintains an air of gentility and history undisturbed by the fast pace of the metropolitan centres. Walking around the village, you will see an array of fine Tudor and Georgian homes, two characterful coaching inns with legendary menus, wines and ales on tap, and views of the south downs to make you sigh. Other than these watering holes, there is a gourmet café and village shop, a church and a cricket ground....lulling you into thinking you've stepped back in time

  • We spent almost three months at The Barn, and had a wonderful stay. It's a beautiful space and extremely cosy, with one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. The big country kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, and very well equipped (including a welcome hamper of tea, coffee, jam, eggs, cake and a bottle of wine). I also used this as a workspace during my stay (WiFi connection is very good). Elizabeth is an excellent host; very friendly and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. We also highly recommend her cooking! Fletching village is a small and peaceful place with two excellent dog-friendly pubs - both very cosy with open fires and delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and look forward to returning in the near future!

The cabin is perfect cosy place to relax in or to explore the local area, it has deceptively spacious open plan studio style accommodation with separate shower room and utility area including full sized dishwasher. There is a pub/restaurant half a mile away and Tunbridge Wells is seven miles north plus there is a direct train link to London Bridge (55 mins). The town centre is approximately 1 Mile with all the usual amenities and a Waitrose. There is usually parking directly outside.
The perfect year round retreat, warm your toes by the toasty log burner with a mug of hot chocolate after an exhilarating day exploring the Ashdown forest, or relax on the deck and watch the sun go down with a glass of fizz after some retail therapy in The Pantiles. Our home is in a residential area but the cabin is nestled at the opposite end of our 1/4 acre garden and surrounded by apple trees, it has its own decked area and enclosed garden with picnic bench and seating. There is a TV/DVD player and a Bluetooth sound bar for your own music selection, complimentary wifi is available by the main house and we do provide the code but we are aiming for an unplugged vibe. There will be a picnic basket provided for outings in exchange for it’s safe return. There is ample outdoor space to store bikes right by the cabin.
Crowborough is a small semi rural town, it is situated in the Weald, at the edge of Ashdown Forest, in the High Weald Area of Outstanding National Beauty. It is 7 miles south of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle the Sherlock Holmes creator lived his life in Crowborough, be sure to visit his statue in town. A popular local attraction in nearby Hartfield is Winnie the Pooh bridge, relive AA Milne’s childhood and find owls house in the woods and play Pooh sticks on the famous little wooden bridge. There are 2 excellent restaurants in Crowborough which require advance booking - Hattusa (Turkish) and Jades Palace (Chinese). In nearby Tunbridge Wells there are all the usual chain restaurants including The Ivy and some lovely independent bars, restaurants and cafes. There is access to the Ashdown forest just under a mile and a half from the cabin with spectacular views, a bit further and you’ll find many more walks with parking. The list of local activities is extensive from boating on Bewl reservoir to climbing Harrison’s rocks so we will leave you brochures or feel free to get in touch before your visit for recommendations.
  • This Airbnb is a lovely place to go to relax. Very cosy and spacious at the same time. We enjoyed being able to spend the evenings in by the wood burner. Catherine was always super speedy to respond, and the cabin had many special little touches. Would recommend! Xxx

  • A great place to stay. Despite being in a residential area the cabin still feels very private. Catherine and James were very good hosts. The cabin is immaculately clean and very comfortable. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay including a kitchen area with lots of cooking equipment. It is close enough to town to cycle or walk which was perfect for us. I would highly recommend a stay here.

    James2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our weekend stay at Neil’s house. Despite the torrential rain, we were very cozy in the house - lots of space, comfortable sofas, multiple ovens (great for big groups), and an easy-to-use wood burning stove (need to bring your own logs). Communication with Neil was quick and efficient, and check-in very easy. Note that the GPS didn’t bring us exactly to the house, but down a muddy lane in the forest. Quite an adventure in the dark. We quickly turned back and found the house with some local help in the end. Would highly recommend staying at this house. Thanks Neil for having us :)

  • Jennifers's place is just perfect, a beautifully decorated house in the english countryside, very quiet, cosy with a delicious and generous breakfast. Jennifer is very welcoming and was kind enough to wait for us as we arrived quite late. This was so kind of her and very appreciated. We will definately come back and would recommand Jennifer's place without hesitation.

  • We arrived very bedraggled and tired after a difficult day having got lost in fog and not having the energy to go out again for our dinner booking. Jenny was just wonderful and made us feel better immediately, not only because her home is so beautiful and comfortable but she made us a simple supper so that all we needed to do after that was collapse into the gorgeous comfy bed. A stunningly beautiful home and perfect host.

In the heart of Ashdown Forest down a woodland track is The Log Shed. Set apart from the main house it offers very comfortable accommodation spread over two floors. A rustic exterior greets you but inside is a recently renovated space which has been beautifully decorated. Surrounded by a lovely garden, forest and fields it is in a unique position where you can enjoy total peace and quiet. Email for special offers in March.
The Log Shed has a spacious, newly decorated bedroom upstairs with a large double bed (kingsize), white cotton bed linen and beautiful views across the fields behind the house. Downstairs there is an area where you can sit and have your morning tea looking out of a large window onto the garden. There are tea and coffee making facilities, a mini fridge, a small wood burner and a shower room with heated towel rail. On the desk upstairs you will find a yellow box with an OS map of the local area, walking maps and other local information (places to eat etc). BREAKFAST is INCLUDED/ No cleaning fee added on Included in the price is a breakfast tray consisting of croissant, rolls, butter/jams, fruit and fruit juice . It is discretely left outside your door at a time that suits (between 7.30am and 9am) OR granola, yogurt and fruit can be left in the shed. I ask you to leave washing up on the dresser outside the shed as there is no kitchen in the shed. On arrival you will find milk in the fridge and a home-made goodie to welcome you. In the Winter months a small log basket of wood is included. Extra logs are available at £5.00 a basket. If you are checking in on a Friday night I am happy to be flexible over a later check-in time.
Ashdown Forest is a paradise for naturalists. You may well see deer grazing in the fields behind the house or on the track. Woodcock, Nightjar, DartfordWarbler and Stonechats are just a few of the birds in the immediate locality. The Ashdown Forest Centre, a source of information about the forest, is on the doorstep and well worth a visit. Forest Row has a number of good eating places. Taffels is great for coffee, brunch and lunch. Java and Jazz is a fun venue for pizzas, pasta dishes, salads and breakfast. There is also a good Thai resteraunt and several Indian restaurants we can recommend.
  • Super place and super host in a wonderful setting right in the forest. We had a rainy weekend but there is so much to see and do that a bit of rain did not stop us. Will certainly recommend and will stay again.

    Nicholas2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was so welcoming and ensured that we had everything we needed. The Log Shed was cosy and welcoming, and the bedroom spacious and comfortable. We slept so well in the night. It was also clean and well decorated, and the shower was nice and hot. The breakfast prepared for the mornings was yummy, with home-made goodies which we loved. Location wise, it was quiet and perfect for our walks. Absolutely recommend it!

    Alicia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, well set up, very comfortable. Ideal for walking in the Ashdown Forest as the forest is just outside the door. Particularly impressed by the lovely bedding, feather and down pillows and pure cotton sheets.

  • An idyllic spot in the countryside, right next to the wonderful Vanguard Way forest walking trail, and absolutely exceptional hospitality! It is also ideally located for attending any weddings at the Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club. The morning breakfast tray was beautiful (especially the home made granola!) and I even arrived to find super-tasty banana bread there for me! Sara and Hew were both incredibly helpful, and I would definitely stay again the next time I need some rural relaxation time! Thank you again both!

    Neil2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We was celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and was looking for a quiet quirky little place. The log shed is just that, it's hidden away down a lane in the middle of the woods. When you get to the house, you look and say WOW. Sara and Hew are fantastic host, they have plenty of knowledge of things to do and the little yellow box in the bedroom has even more and a large map of the area. Thanks again Sara and Hew, you made our weekend special. We will be back.

This Grade 2 listed cottage has been restored recently to a high standard, having exchanged hands for the first time in 300 years! Set on the edge of the Ashdown forest this cottage is now a cozy, country retreat with a secure garden at the back and a small paddock and river belonging to the cottage. Look out for the carvings on the fireplace dating back over 200 years but also enjoy the brand new kitchen and fab huge shower!
The cottage has 3 bedrooms, one which has a king size bed, that can be converted in to 2 singles, with a trundle bed as well. The second bedroom has a standard double and the third has a single. This is a really old cottage so the stairs are quite steep and the house is on 3 floors. There is plenty parking outside.
The cottage is on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. It is a fantastic place to walk, run and cycle. At the top of the forest you will have views of the North and South Downs and on a clear day you can see the sea beyond. The forest is famous for winnie the pooh and you can walk to Pooh bridge from the cottage along footpaths. You have the town of Crowborough close by with shops, cafes and a railway station which will take you to London in under an hour. There is also the town of Tunbridge Wells under 10 miles away. Also a must see is Hever castle, Penshurst Place and Wakehurst Place. The town of Brighton is just about 1 hour away and the beach is the same distance. There are some fab country pubs with great local food too.
  • Lovely little cottage - 5 of us stayed for 2 nights. Really peaceful little cottage with a fire- perfect for our needs. It's clearly been newly renovated so was spotless. Only comment is that it would have been good to have a few more essentials ie dishwasher tablets, table salt etc. Very good value for money.
