  • This is a spacious home, lovely feeling about the place. The two bathrooms was an added benefit with seven of us staying here. The parking could be a problem but there is a parking space at the back of the house which was useful especially as we had two cars.

Set in Marldon Village, these lovely former farm conversions nestles within a courtyard setting and is the perfect couples retreat or small family holiday
The house is in the charming village of Marldon, close to the seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham with their quirky shops, pubs, restaurants, and galleries. The sandy beaches of Torre Abbey Sands and Goodrington Sands are also nearby.
  • Jasmine cottage is situated in a quiet but central area of a lovely Devon village. We found the cottage in a converted barn warm and welcoming on arrival. Very well designed layout with an open plan living dining kitchen area and 2 ensuite bedrooms arranged on each side. The cottage was spotless, beds comfortable and linens and towels high quality. Lovely walks around the village and Church inn does an amazing Sunday roast. Really recommend its location.

  • The cottage was a great place for relaxing at February half term and exploring Paignton and Brixham. Just enough for us 2 adults and 11 year old and 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Shower was great and whole house was warm and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and we had breakfast at home. 2 pubs within walking distance. Good choice of board games our son enjoyed. Internet connection was good. I’m sure in the summer with more crowd the narrow roads could be a problem. Also parking is tight so smaller car would be better. Would recommend Rockfish in Brixham for seafood. All in all it was a great experience

  • Woodend provided us with an excellent venue in a beautiful location for our large family get together (3 generations, consisting of 8 adults and 7 children). The generously proportioned rooms gave plenty of space to spread out indoors, and there was an excellent, large, well-equipped kitchen. Despite the weather and time of year (February) the hot tub and pool were enjoyed most mornings by all. We would have no hesitation in returning for another family celebration in this beautiful home.

  • This house is amazing!! Very clean, plenty of space and beautifully presented. Adrian was very approachable and quick to respond to me over the stay. The on site managers Keith and Lisa were great to have on hand as well. I would definitely recommend this place!

  • What a fantastic place for a get together of families, we had 5 families and the big rooms worked well for us. Pool and hot tub were warm so the kids had a great time splashing about! Great communication from Adrain, no problems.

  • Woodend is the perfect place for a big group gathering of family or friends. The house is very well laid out with large living/reception areas downstairs, a lovely large kitchen that is very well equipped for cooking for groups, and upstairs you have large bedrooms (almost all ensuite). The whole house is tastefully decorated with some lovely personal touches as well. And then outside is the pool and hot tub with spectacular views over the sea. Very close by, Meadfoot Beach is a lovely spot for a stroll, and then within a 5-10 minute drive there are many more beautiful spots and more places to visit than one would ever have time for! I'm already thinking about what excuse I can find to organise another gathering to book Woodend again.

  • This place is absolutely perfect for a group of 10+. The house itself is very impressive with exceptional views. The amenities are top class with a very impressive kitchen which makes cooking for a large group straightforward. Communication with Adrian was as good as it could be. We booked over a year in advance for a milestone birthday, and he would respond to every message within the hour. Check in was quick and simple. One review mentions problems with neighbors and excessive noise. There are some notices requesting sensible noise levels and not to play music around the pool. We followed these rules and had no problems at all and it did not inpeed on our enjoyment. Adrian went to great lengths to make our stay enjoyable and is an excellent host. Highly recommend staying her. We all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and may we'll make this an annual trip. Thank you Adrian and your team.

Recently featured on ‘The Culture Trip’ blog as one of the ‘TOP TEN FAIRYTALE CASTLES’ to stay in on Airbnb! Check out the Culture Trip website to read their amazing review on our home. Our home is a stunning section of a Victorian mansion house. With huge entertaining spaces and magnificent views out to sea. Enjoy time in luxurious surroundings in a beautiful part of the country. contact me for special deals as prices change depending on the time of the year. High season exceptions apply.
PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT ACCEPT 2 NIGHT BOOKINGS DURING HIGH SEASON, FROM JULY-SEPTEMBER. Totally unique 3 storey section of grand mansion with large enclosed gardens Lots of original features Open fire in the sitting room 2 large flat screen TVs bedrooms spread over three floors for extra privacy ideal for families and couples off road parking spaces lots of local activities: golf courses, fishing, walking, seaside activities etc. AMAZING views Famous former residents; Vivien Leigh & Laurence Olivier. recently renovated with new heating system & roof. Decorated for Christmas Large garden Views Full use of section of house Original roll top bath Close to the sea and Dartmoor Quaint English seaside town Lots of excellent restaurants Traditional pubs Easy access to Exeter and Plymouth Excellent public transport; we have a mainline railway station less than 1/2 mile down the road and there are also excellent bus links. Passenger ferry across to the fishing village of Shaldon (the oldest ferry route in the British Isles). MINIMUM OF 3 NIGHT STAY. All damage must be paid for. Any extra cleaning charges will also be taken from deposit. Double doors lead out to a fenced off area of a large garden. Lots of local shops in Teignmouth town along with pubs and restaurants and takeaways. There is a Waitrose supermarket in town and about 1 mile away is a Morrisons supermarket. Mainline train station is a five minute walk away from the property and there are lots of different bus routes from town that take you to Exeter, Plymouth and Dartmoor. The previous owners of this house had massively neglected it and let it fall into a terrible state of disrepair - it was pretty much derelict when we bought it. It had no staircase, water, electricity or gas supply. The roof let in approximately 40 litres of water every time it rained and the windows were all rotten. Over the last 9 years we have lovingly restored it - replaced the rotten windows; had a new roof (and insulation!) fitted, a new heating system has been installed and we have tastefully decorated with colours representative of the era it was built. We've given the house a little bit of dignity back. It's an on going project though so please take into consideration it's not a modern, double glazed property and you might feel a draught here and there!
We're a five minute walk from the beach and the town centre; as we're located on the top of a hill, we have the most magnificent views out to sea, estuary and the moors. It's an idyllic location and a beautiful house.
  • Great place in a wonderful location. Amazing views. Very cozy front room with huge fire place. Lovely kitchen and very well equipped. Wonderful bedrooms and amazing views again! Sweet single and twin rooms as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend stay :)

Fantastic base to explore the gorgeous coastline and countryside of South Devon, situated less than a mile from the South West Coast Path at Maidencombe. The chalet is set in the garden of our family home, with private access and entrance and on site parking. It has a self contained terrace outside with hot tub, large table and seating. The studio contains a King Size bed, table and chairs, chest of drawers and a kitchen corner with sink, halogen hob and microwave. There is a small fridge, kettle and toaster. The en suite bathroom has a toilet, sink and large shower. We live on site with our children.
  • Thank you so much for hosting our stay. We had a fabulous time and the hot tub was the icing on the cake for Ryan’s birthday. The garden room was tidy and has all the essentials you need. The location is perfect too. We hope to stop again soon. Emily.

Situated just 750m from the South West Coastal Path, this property offers lovely views of the sea and moor. The property is a spacious detached house which has been renovated to a good standard, offering spacious accommodation.
Nice fire pit, additional garden covered seating to be added (Oct/Nov 2019) There is a lovely garden, ideal for al-fresco dining. It has its own small orchard and woodland area. The well appointed living room commands views across the bay. The house is situated in a wonderful location for a beach holiday, walking holiday or friends to get together.
Combines easy access to sea and moor with quality dining and lovely towns such as Teignmouth and Torquay together with villages such as Shaldon and Babbacombe.
  • Spacious house, warm, comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen. Would recommend for a weekend getaway in Devon!

  • We really enjoyed our stay, the view was beautiful from bedrooms and the house was very clean and modern! Would definitely stay again!

    Charlotte2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Big basic spacious house. We had 6 guests in our party and never at any point felt crowded. Bedrooms are large, beds are comfy and clean. Kitchen is large and well stocked with all you need. This is no 5 star boutique hotel but for a basic place with loads of size and space it was perfect. Yes it could do with some modernisation in areas but for the price it's as you should expect. Its an out of town location but no more than 5-10 mins away from anything you need. All I say is.. we are coming back. Thanks to the host Robin

    Ritchie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Carlingford is perfect for a family holiday it has everything that you need and very clean. It has a lovely garden with great views. Thank you Robin for your hospitality.

    Lionel2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous house and location. Perfect for any occasion, so much space and the view was amazing. The house was warm and spotlessly clean, what a lovely place for a family getaway even with the horrendous weather! Robin the host is fab, responding so quickly to any queries, made the trip extra special as everything was so relaxed and private. If you get the chance pop into the Ness pub overlooking the estuary,2 mins down the road...excellent choice of ales, dog friendly and lovely surroundings to sit and watch Storm Dennis! Thank you so much Robin, we will be back for sure 😁

    Denise2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house in great location The best walks around We really enjoyed our stay

    Mel2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you very much Robin! From the get go your communication was great and having some local knowledge about the area prior to arrival was great! Robin is very flexible to requests made about check-in and where possible he made the effort to supported us. House and garden was clean and well maintained and therefore made for a great New Year's holiday stay with a party of 9! If looking to improve things, albiet not a point that should knock the property as an Airbnb stay down or Robin as a host, the oven dials are fairly worn so is difficult to see temperature settings and the dishwasher could possible do with being replaced. The access road the property entrance is on is also somewhat dangerous coming out of. If hedges can be trimmed/trees can be removed (I believe both public and on the property) or mirrors can be put up, this would certainly help! Other than that, fantastic stay and great host! Chris and party

  • I’ve been using Airbnb for several years now and never had a bad experience. However, occasionally you have something that’s just beyond what you expect. It’s been like staying with friends. This is the second time I have stayed with a gay married couple. I have remained friends with the couple in Kettering & equally stay friends with Andy & Simon without a shadow of a doubt. I have been made to feel So welcome. If your in Torquay and need a place to just outside Barton stay here. You will be most welcome.

  • Holly’s cottage was absolutely beautiful. The cottage was spotlessly clean and immaculate. It really was “home from home!” The cottage was very stylish and modern but keeping that cottage feeling. There was so much to do there, with wonderful views over the golf course. Holly was so quick to respond to any messages and nothing was too much to ask. Overall, it was 5 stars! We will most certainly be returning and telling our friends and family of our wonderful stay.

    Ellie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay here just before Christmas to see family and can honestly stay this was the loveliest AirBnB we've stayed at in the Torquay area. The space is exceptionally roomy and the bedroom is gorgeous. Really appreciated the high spec TVs in the lounge and the bedroom. Holly was very helpful when we spoke to her, and she had left a gorgeous little Christmas tree in the lounge, it just made the stay that bit extra special. Don't hesitate to book, you won't regret it 🙂

    Natasha2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very pleasant stay at Holly’s. The place is sparkling clean, provides all necessary things one needs for a nice stay. The location of the cottage is perfect with plenty of space for car park. It is a dog friendly place and our puppy very much loved it. Holly helped us and was very kind with rescheduling the dates as it was last minute change for us. I will definite recommend her cottage if you are looking for a stay in Babbacombe . Thanks a lot Holly :))

  • Can't rate this cottage high enough, spotlessly clean, attention to detail, & very welcoming. The view was gorgeous, it was a real home from home other than by envy of a walk-in dressing room!

Beautifully appointed cottage just a short stroll away from the marina, beach, shops, restaurants and bars.
Character cottage retaining many of the original features including a log burner for colder nights.
  • Lovely house, we found everything we needed. Very considerate leaving us Himalayan salt, Greek olive oil, milk, firewood etc..Spotless clean, beautiful fire place and great location! The house was cold when we arrived but next day was warm and cosy. Only thing I would change it is the size of the double bed, we found it a little bit short for two people. Other than that I would live there permanently:) Thank you again Suzannah, I am very happy I found your place!

    Esperanza2020-03-03T00:00:00Z

  • A lovey little house a srones throw from the centre of town.

    Carolyn2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house/cottage is in a great location for the town. Very comfortable and clean, with everything you could need. When the weather turned it was great to be able to turn up the heating and hide with a film! Suzannah was great about responding and was on hand to help and offer advice, but otherwise lets you get on with it I would absolutely recommend it as a cosy place to stay.

    Ruth2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here with our 3 year old. Had everything we needed and was an easy stroll to the harbour.

    Rob2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the house. It has been decorated beautifully with lovely little touches everywhere, and great mod cons. It's also a fab location. Such a short walk to the harbour to the great bars and restaurants. It's a good location also for other places nearby (Paignton, Totnes, Brixham only short drives). Suzannah was really helpful before our trip and gave us some great pointers of dog friendly beaches and restaurants nearby. That made the whole trip more enjoyable knowing where we could easily go. We loved our time there and hope to come back one day.

    Thea2019-08-31T00:00:00Z

Here in Torquay we have a wide variety of beaches and walks to choose from, Babbacombe to Maidencombe is my favourite. The most reccomended sights in Torquay are Torre Abbey, Kents Cavern, Model Village and Anstey's cove for kayaking if needed you can hire one. And finally the Cliff railway which offers an exciting trip to the beach down the cliff side. Don't like any of those options? Don't worry there's plenty more in our original seaside town.

  • Carly's place was a great find in Torquay. We were down there on business and it was a lovely space to chill and collect our thoughts. Everything in the flatlet has been consciously designed or placed there, and it feels fresh and welcoming when you arrive: crisp ironed sheets, a soft blanket at the foot of the bed, milk and orange juice in the fridge, and there was even a vase of fresh flowers. The neutral colour schemes are relaxing and the seaside themed duvet cover, pillows, anchor and ship's wheel decorations are fun. I loved the oar made into a coat rack, and the artefacts in the upper windows - seagulls, boats and starfish, some made of driftwood. It's not cluttered, though. It's a very peaceful place to unwind. Carly is really welcoming and friendly. We met on the second day. She's there if you need her but unobtrusive, letting you contact her if you want to. It's great to see fellow hosts keeping up Airbnb standards of quality and hospitality and not charging the earth at the same time. Very good value. Highly recommended :-)

  • We enjoyed our short but comfortable stay. The check-in instructions through the app were very clear so it was not difficult for us to get in. Carlys annex is very lovely and just as described. We did not meet her in person but she was very responsive to all our questions. We would love to come back when it's warmer.

  • Great location, fantastic hosts who gave us lots of hints and tips about the the area activities and events. We attended a car show recommended by David and his wife which was a great shout as this was the highlight of our weekend. The place was good value for money. It was great for a self cooked breakfast while you bake in the sun rise in the morning. Very quiet with lots to do in the local areas. We will definitely be returning.
