Embrace the quirky, cosy interiors in this romantic getaway. Open the doors to the terrace, and let the sounds of nature waft through the lodge. Fire up the BBQ, enjoy a good meal and then spend the evening in the hot tub gazing up at the stars.
Located in one of Maidstone in Kent's oldest roads, neighbouring buildings used to provide accommodation to pilgrims on their travels to Canterbury in medieval times. Perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all and for those looking for something different, the quirky interior of the Lodge is an eclectic mix of vintage and modern. It offers a romantic hideaway, with exclusive use of the brand new hot tub jacuzzi directly outside your door, and a low height mezzanine sleeping area on a futon mattress, in the double height roof where you can star watch in bed, listening to the local owls. The fully equipped, open plan kitchen/lounge area is cosy in the winter with underfloor heating, and equally delightful in the summer when the bi-fold doors can be opened up to enjoy BBQ's on the deck. With Wifi access, Bose mini sound system, Nespresso coffee pod machine and a flat screen TV, you can also keep in touch with the outside world if you really want to. The Lodge is perfectly located for those who want a car free holiday in the corner of our 1.5 acre garden, about 60m from the main house. Please note that while the Lodge is completely private the hot tub area is not, as you are in the garden shared with our house. A short walk will take you to the ancient village green of Bearsted with its Butcher / Deli / Bakery and a choice of excellent restaurants. For those wishing to take the train, the village station provides services to the coast or to London, to give you transport choices. 5 minutes by car will get you to the award winning Leeds castle, while a 40-60 minutes drive will take you to the many beautiful historic towns of Kent including Tenterden, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells, as well as the beautiful Kent coast line and the EuroTunnel. Perfectly located for weddings and celebrations at the award winning Orangery in Maidstone, why not make a holiday out of your stay? Subject to availability The Lodge can be booked in conjunction with it's sister property 'Knocklofty', a one minutes walk away and can accommodate up to 4 people.
Embrace country life in the medieval village of Bearsted in Kent—the Garden of England. Walk to the village green for great gastro pubs, a butcher, and a deli. For a proper hike, there's beautiful countryside with miles of scenic walks.

  • We had a lovely stay at this very stylish cottage in Bearsted. The house was easy to find and within walking distance of the village. It was thankfully very cosy, which was much appreciated as we visited it on a cold, windy and miserable weekend. The size and layout was perfect for us and our 2 children. The house was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub is a real bonus! Barbara was an excellent host - she was very responsive and sent a very detailed welcome email with lots of useful information in advance of our trip.

    Ella2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I had a lovely relaxing stay here. The place is cute and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed to do some cooking. The hot tub was the highlight!

    Shani2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend away. Although the weather was bad the hot tub was still available to use. All amenities were great and everything you needed was there.

  • It was just perfect

    Peter2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I fell in love with this place based on the photos and it looked exactly the same in real life, which is always great to see. There were thoughtful touches added to make our stay special and the cottage was absolutely gorgeous both inside and out. The information provided on the local area was really helpful and Barbara & Mike were quick to respond to any questions we had. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in the area.

    Paul2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay at and great location we had a wonderful couple of nights there and the host were extremely helpful when needed. Would stay there again.

  • A lovely home with lovely hosts! Barbara and Mike communicate very well and provide lovely little details such as a bottle of prosecco on arrival and a follow up message to make sure everything is okay on the first day of the stay. The home and hot tub are extremely well kept and warm and the area is very quaint and friendly. Lots of things to do a short drive away. There are a few pubs/restaurants within 5 minutes walk which are really nice to go to for dinner and a drinks. We are really looking forward to hopefully return again! Thanks for everything Rebecca

  • This was an amazing cottage full of character which made my friend and I feel at home straightaway! It's cosy and warm, the kitchen utensils are amazing and the style was so unique. There were plenty of walks on our door step and we had dinner at the Oak on the Green which was only a few minutes away. I would highly recommend this place.

  • Absolutely amazing! We had an absolutely amazing stay at Emma’s Place the Stables last night! The stables itself were absolutely gorgeous and had everything that you needed for your stay from plates, towels, tea bags and bedding! It was lovely and clean and the underfloor heating made it all lovely and cosy! We had the pleasure of meeting Emma and she went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, she even sent us photos of the go to takeaway and food places around the area. Our little Shih-Tzu come for the stay and she had a amazing time! She loved seeing the chickens for her little morning walk to the car. Mitzy felt really comfortable and at ease for her stay too. Emma was really accommodating for dogs and it was really nice to see the emergency vets number on the emergency contacts page, it was a really nice touch! Overall, I would definitely come back and stay with Emma again and would recommend to anyone.

  • My husband and I stayed at Sarah and John's place for 9 nights. The house itself is stylish and clean. There is a lovely big garden, shared sitting area and kitchen. Guests have their own bathroom. Everything is easy to use and access. We had everything we needed and we were also given a few things for breakfast which was really nice. The location is very good as well. It's only an 8-10 minutes walk into town to shops and restaurants. About 8-10 minutes walk to Maidstone East Station which gets you to London Victoria station in an hour. Maidstone Barracks is about 12-15 minutes walk away. Library about 10 minutes walk away. There is a corner shop at the top of the road. Very convenient. Plenty of good restaurants in town and some nice pubs around the area. Sarah and John are both lovely and welcoming people. We will definitely stay here again.

    Juanita2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place is beautiful and full of character. Our room was spacious and Sarah left us breakfast for both nights' stay. The area is quiet and we slept for ages uninterrupted! The home is walking distance from town with plenty to see and do! Sarah is very knowledgeable about the area and did everything to make sure we were happy and comfortable. We would definitely stay again, a home from home :)

  • I will be staying again, can't fault Sarah and her lovely home with one exception, the parking.

  • The best Airbnb experience so far. Sarah, John and Lemmy (the cutest, friendliest doc ever) are so warm and forthcoming hosts, that you will definitely have a marvelous stay there. I can only recommend to book at Sarahs. The room is spacious and the little adjacent room with a small fridge and space to put your suitcase in is very helpful. The bed is all comfy and the neighborhood quiet, so you can find a good night sleep. Sarah and John are really friendly, caring and easy to talk to. They leave you for yourself though, if you prefere. I would always come again.

  • The most beautiful place I’ve stayed on air BnB. Such a friendly and wonderful host who added such beautiful touches. A really caring lady who has an outstanding place to stay. Me and my doggies loved it. Every little touch is just perfect. The biggest help is the gate from the kitchen to the living area, it’s so thoughtful means muddy paws can be cleaned before excited dogs explore ! It’s perfect. 100% want to be back

Accommodation is in perfect condition, stylish with everything you would need for a relaxed time away from home. Communication with Elenor was faultless. Really quick, efficient and we also got a special treat. Thank you very much!

  • Elenor is a great host and very helpful. Her house is very clean and well equiped. She is courteous and helpful. We had our baby and dog staying with us. Elenor made sure we hat a babycot and bowls for the dog. Amazing kitchen and lovely bedroom, the whole cottage is beautiful. The ceiling in the shower is a little low so you can not stand up straight. Parking is available just outside the house.

  • A little gem. Faultless

    Gemma2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Elenor’s cottage is beautiful, her quick responses and helpful tips made our stay even better!

  • The little lodge is great, it was like having a home from home. Little touches made it extra special and you can tell a lot of time and effort has gone into the decoration of the lodge. It’s a lovely country style place to stay and I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Quirky grade 2 listed first floor apartment in the heart of West Malling , just off the High Street it is also very quiet and peaceful . There are many bars , restaurants and specialty shops , mainly all of which are also in listed buildings and within a five minute walk and yet in less than ten minutes you can be walking around beautiful countryside and parks . There is a mainline train station covering London Victoria and Ashford International , again a ten minute walk away .
My place is a 17 th century apartment , in part of a building that used to be used for drying hops . It has two bedrooms , one bathroom and although shared with myself guests are welcome to make use of the main living / kitchen area .
  • I stayed with Helen sporadically over a five week period whilst working in the area. I loved staying there. It was deliciously cosy. Helen is very welcoming and makes a lovely cup of tea. Thank you Helen!

  • Excellent place to stay while on a walking trip this February. Very characterful listed flat but with completely modern up-to-date finishing. The place is spotless, the bed extremely comfy and when I arrived knackered Helen offered me a cup of tea straight away. 10/10 would stay again.

  • This was a great place to stay, the host was very helpful, and the location is very central, convenient parking as well, this is very close to the apartment, it has a private garden which would be more so enjoyed in the summer months, the host was very helpful very communicative, would stay there again.

  • A lovely comfortable place to stay. Helen is a great host and made my stay very easy. West Malling is well located for easy access to Maidstone and Brands Hatch, etc. Plenty of eating choices in West Malling and lovely walks nearby.

    Robin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Helen is a nice lady. The room was very nice. The parking was never a problem. Having previously lived near the town it was a treat to come back. The house is off the high street and so is quiet but it is to get to get to Tescos, pubs places to eat and the station.

    Dean2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy room and comfy bed, perfect for one person. Helen is kind and welcoming and made the stay pleasant. Short walk to the train station, not difficult to find if you follow Helen’s instructions.

Tiny cabin built on the edge of the woods that are part of Welsummer Camping. With its own backyard view into the woods, wood burning stove, campfire area and hammock.
*Special information - March 2020* Currently 2 adults only. Kitchenette not accessible. Bathroom for guests use only, 5 days minimum gap between guests, with cleaning and linen change on day 3. Please bring supplies from your home and avoid using local shops and services if possible while you are here or on your journey. 2 day maximum stay. Self check in and out - zero face to face contact. Stay safe ❤️ Wendy’s house is tucked into a corner on our beautiful campsite just on the edge of the woods that adjoins our gardens. Wendy’s house is around 17 sqm inside separated into two adjoining spaces. One comprises an antique iron, double (130cm) bed with comfortable mattress and warm clean bedding. The other space offers a single bed, the wood burner and a table. Warm your space with the little wood burner on which you can pop a kettle or warm some soup. A cupboard filled with dining and outdoor cooking gear and a dining table completes the basics necessary for a practical stay. We can provide a bbq grill and camping gas stove for your convenience. We are working towards an Off Grid solution but a small radiator, lamp and USB plug can be switched on in winter to help you feel cosy and connected. There are also battery lamps. There are 4 windows and a back door to the woodland balcony. The campsite bubbles with families and laughter during the busy holidays and settles down to complete peace on weekdays. Out of season ( Oct - march), when there are no campers, share the space only with the pheasants and the local wildlife as well as us and the family pottering around on one project or another. The facilities (Loos showers washing up, hammock deck, kitchen and covered lounge) are just 20 metres from the cabin. The space behind the cabin offers an area for outdoor cooking and dining with a great view into the woodland from the rocking chair on the little balcony. The property is around 7 acres including meadow woods and orchard and you are welcome to discover and relax in any of the areas open to campers. There is a covered shelter and lounge outside reception where you can charge a device, catch up on necessary work, use the fridge or purchase hot and cold drinks. During winter you can use the small kitchenette which houses our wood burner, and which has a kettle, coffee machine and toaster. Please note there is no Wi-fi but 4g networks are mostly good. Main parking is in the field away from the car free spaces but most of the time there is a space just behind the cabin to park your car if you don’t mind looking at it! It is also a good place to unload your stuff. Firewood for the campfire is not included but can be purchased on site. Firewood for the inside wood burner in is included in winter only. Extras to be booked with us at least two days in advance: Home cooked dinner - Delivered to your cabin at a time of your choice. Choose from curry or couscous £22 for two, or burritos £16 for two. All meals vegetarian. Vegan is no problem too, just let me know. Relaxing or healing foot bath. In the comfort of your cabin, with essential oils to suit the moment or personalised with home grown herbs to soothe your ailments. Towels included. £18.
When the campsite is open there is a lovely community feel and a great atmosphere as campfires are lit and feasts are prepared. At busy times chatter lasts into the evening but we try and keep noise low after 10.30 at night. At other times nature cradles our little spot on top of the hill and you can feel really protected by the surrounding trees. We are close to civilisation however and shops and pubs are a 10 minute drive at the most. The Pepperbox inn, a great pub with great food is a 20 minute walk across the footpaths. There is direct access from the woods to the greensand way offering miles of footpath walks across a beautiful ridge just opposite the North downs one way and overlooking the Weald of Kent southwards. Lenham village is a 10 minute drive, and you will find here a medieval village with a small selection of pubs cafes and shops. Leeds castle is a major feature of the area at about 10 minute drive. Wendy’s house is a great place to stay if you are visiting for one of their special events such as the classical concerts or fireworks, but is also a really great day out for visiting the castle and beautiful grounds.
  • Recomend that for a weekend away from the city!

    Dadon2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • Great Location and Super Hosts!

    Martyn2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived exhausted after a 7 hour walk, as dark was falling... to find a kettle whistling on wood burning stove. So very welcome.

    Clio2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 3 day stay for our anniversary hear and would highly recommend the cabin. We stayed here in winter and were expecting it to be rather cold but were able to keep the cabin nice and toasty with the log burner. Theres a fire pit just outside too where we cooked on open fire which was the highlight of the off-grid experience.

    Charles2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little cabin on the edge of a woodlands, for us visiting in Feb we were one of two couples on the site. The log fire and been started so that the cabin was warm for our late arrival. Communication was excellent from the moment we booked and just what we needed for an escape from the city. Very quiet. Was great for some night time photography also. Will definitely be back!

    Steven Barrie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to stay! Truly nature, off the grid experience and Laura and her family were such wonderful hosts! Living a truly inspiring life in the nature and it’s amazing that they shared it with us for a brief moment :) Thank you and I am sure we will meet again :) Aiste and Jason

    Aiste2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s place is an absolute gem!! We stayed for New Year’s Eve and it was surprisingly warm and cosy with the log burner on and the outdoor fire was so lovely under the stars. Really nice area with kitchen stuff and toilet/shower you have everything you need but also feel detached enough for the off grid experience! Such a great place will definitely be back. And my little dog loved it too! 10 out of 10!

  • I was looking forward to this mini break as I needed a relaxing break in the countryside with my Grandson who has Autism and our dog , on arrival Jan met us and welcomed us into the lovely apartment / converted stable , she was very warm and friendly and she asked which toys my Grandson liked , we were even given some lovely sweet refreshments / treats to eat and we settled in quickly to what would be the most relaxing and restful trip we have ever had! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute and we did NOT want to leave , it is so great we wish to return as it is a haven of peace and has so much character , charm and open space to explore! :-) :-)

  • Jan deserves the title superhost! I would highly recommend this place to anyone making a trip to Maidstone, particularly if you have a dog. The house, garden and surrounding area are idyllic. If you have a dog, the garden is large enough (and enclosed) allowing them to run around. Jan and Chris were very welcoming and had lots of tips for dog friendly things to do in the area.

We are pleased to offer our recently refurbished annex with double bedroom, private bathroom and own front door. Oast Cottage is a converted stables attached to the main Oast House dating back to the 1800s. The Oast is set in a conservation area of Boughton Monchelsea which consists of converted farm buildings, listed houses and a 16th Century pub (directly opposite). The area boasts many places to visit (including Leeds Castle), countryside walks, as well as numerous pubs and restaurants.
The space consists of a large double bedroom with king sized bed, tea/coffee making facilities, WiFi, Sky TV with all channels including Netflix, sport and films. A bathroom adjoins the room with bath and power shower. Within the cottage there is fridge, microwave and tableware for guests to use. The annex is on one level with its own front door and an area outside the front of the cottage with a table and chairs, free parking directly outside the cottage is provided.
Boughton Monchelsea lies on a ragstone ridge between the North Downs and the Weald of Kent. The name of the village comes from a corruption of the Norman family name Montchensie and the Anglo Saxon Boc Tun (Beech Tree Settlement). The area is famed for its ragstone which you will with the Cottage and the local area. The stone from the local quarry was used in the building of Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. The house sits in a conservation area with several listed buildings and the Cock Inn (directly opposite) that dates back to the 16th century. The Greensand way footpath passes through Boughton Monchelsea and affords wonderful views of the Kent countryside There are many places of interest nearby including Leeds Castle, Sissinghurst Castle, the picturesque village of Yalding, Hush Heath Vineyards and Estate and the county town of Kent Maidstone. Within a 45 minute drive you can reach the port of Dover and Eurotunnel Shuttle Terminal, Tunbridge Wells, Cranbrook, beaches of Rye and Whitstable and many other places of interest. There are several country pubs and restaurants nearby including The Curious Eatery (less than a mile away), The Bull at Linton (with lovely countryside views) and The Potting Shed. We consider ourselves very lucky to live in an area which has wonderful places to visit and several nice pubs and restaurants.

  • Perfect getaway spot to relax and enjoy the local scenery, with great walks nearby. Easy to get to, fantastic location and the cabin and hot tub were exactly what we wanted. Julie was very responsive and helpful, and the cabin had so many thoughtful touches that it feels like a home away from home as soon as you step in. We hope to be back in the summer! Thanks again, Nathalie & Aaron

The Stables is set in a beautiful rural location with views across open countryside. The Stables is a barn style building with oak beams, open brickwork with stable & bi-fold doors. The open plan living space comes with fitted kitchen inclusive of fridge/freezer & washing machine, small farmhouse table & "L" suite sofa (suitable for 2 small children) TV in lounge & bedroom, cozy bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bathroom (shower). Tea, coffee, milk and bottled water will be provided.
The Stables is accessed via large oak secured gates. There is plenty of parking and you are welcome to use the garden between our home and The Stables although we do have a bouncy Labrador that roams but is very friendly. The Villages of Lenham and Headcorn are both 4 miles, both have a number of convenience stores, pubs, bakers, chemists, post offices and restaurants/takeaways.
Although we are in a rural location we are within driving distance of Leeds Castle, Headcorn Aerodrome, the North Downs and Pilgrims Way, M20 motorway (easy access to London), Train Stations, Eurotunnel or Ferry Crossings to France. We are located within one mile of the famously televised Who'd a Thought It Hotel/pub.
  • Absolutely perfect. Leigh-Ann was such a lovely host. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a little weekend away.

    Bethany2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay! Our 2 boys slept on the sofa bed which they found really comfy and there was plenty of space and a well equipped kitchen. There wasn’t any door on the en-suite bathroom so you could hear if someone needed a wee in the night (!) but this wasn’t a problem for us as a family.

    Charly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Leigh-Ann’s. Despite Storm Dennis the space was a really cosy, yet stylish place to hide away from the weather. Leigh-Ann was a great host and we really appreciated her hospitality and welcoming touches. The recommendations for local pubs were spot on too!

    Claire2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

  • Amazing place Great place to get away from the city life Exactly like how you see in the picture I’m coming back here again

  • Great little barn to get away from it all!

    Jakob2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had the most perfect weekend away here. Philippa has done a brilliant job doing up the barn to be the perfect level of rustic and plush. It’s so cozy yet fresh and not stuffy. We felt so at home, and enjoyed the place and it’s surroundings in the rain and sunshine. We had everything we needed, it’s spotlessly clean, the bed is unbelievably comfy and Philippa was lovely and welcoming. Perfect getaway. Can’t recommend enough! Will go back ASAP :)

    Anna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a stunning place! Philippa’s place is an amazing escape from day to day life, we were able to switch off relax and enjoy taking it easy. Philippa has great knowledge of the local attractions and surroundings and it’s really reassuring that she’s always on hand for anything. The place is decorated beautifully and just like the pictures. Although one thing you can’t tell from the pictures is how comfortable the bed is!! Overall an amazing escape which I would highly recommend!

    Jade2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend this luxury barn conversion if you are looking for a romantic getaway in a nice cozy place with the best of interiors. Philippa was very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable with the place. The place is so well maintained. Very clean and has all the amenities one would need. Very comfortable bed. We did binge watching on Netflix the host provided us with on her Tv. Good value for money, has couple of good pubs near by. We don’t drive but had cab services available with 10 mins lead time. The best part of the stay was the rustic look of the interiors which are exactly the same as shown in the pictures. We plan to go back again soon and my wife has already looked at other properties managed by the host.

  • I had a lovely stay in this great, stylish barn conversion. The fresh eggs for breakfast, luxury toiletries, and Netflix were some of the highlights. Philippa also gave very useful tips for exploring the local environment. All in all, a lovely stay!

It was quiet, clean and very comfortable and Susie was very attentive and kind. There was even a breakfast and you can enjoy the lovely view over the lovely Kent countryside. Nearby there are some good looking pubs (sadly we did not have time to frequent them). All in all we can highly recommend Susie's place.

Kent is known as The Garden of England. We are located half way between two Kent villages, Marden and Goudhurst. Tanner Farm is surrounded by farmland. The orchards, woods and river make for a scenic walk any time of the year - and they're just on the doorstep! Goudhurst is exceptionally pretty, and was even listed as a contender for village of the year on Penelope Keith's TV programme. It has a lovely church at the top of the hill which is open to visitors. Within the village, there are three pubs, which are all exceptional. In the heart of the village, there are tearooms; cafes; a number of small shops; and a pharmacy; as well as much more. Marden is flatter, has several convenience stores, a mainline train station, a petrol station, a great kebab shop, and a superb Indian restaurant, which serves very good curries with wonderful service. There is a huge selection of shopping, cafes, restaurants and fantastic country pubs, clubs, cinemas and tourist attractions within a 20-30 minute drive. Cranbrook is 7 miles away, with its own museum and windmill. You will find a supermarket and banking facilities here. There are two National Trust properties close by (both within 20 mins drive), Scotney Castle and Sissinghurst Castle. Bayham Abbey is also near. Tunbridge Wells is within easy reach, 20-25 mins drive. There are several vineyards in the area: Hush Heath Estates and Lamberhurst Vineyard to name the nearest. They offer a variety of wine-tastings and tours, for those who enjoy finer wines. Details can be found on their websites. The seaside can be reached very easily, Hastings, Broadstairs and Whitstable are within 40-60min drive. With so much for you to do, you'll have to stay again!

It was so lovely to take the bags out the car and walk into a cosy living room with a gorgeous log fire already crackling away. I was made to feel so welcome by Philippa and her husband. Storm Ciara knocked the power out a couple of times and they went out of their way to make sure I was safe, warm, fed and fully equipped with candles. Thank you for allowing me to do some much needed writing.

  • Great hosts, lovely fresh fruit for breakfast, great location, unlike some revues very easy to find!

  • The cottage by the green proved atmospheric and very comfy. Jane is a splendid host and prepared a lovely breakfast for us. The bedroom is quiet, in a tranquil village. The two pubs in walking distance do good food. We were very happy with our four day stay.

    Murray2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved all aspects of our stay in your cosy cottage Jane. We appreciated the warm welcome, lovely room and ensuite, comfortable night's sleep and super breakfast. The night we stayed there was a deep frost making Bearsted Green look even more stunning, but it was snug and warm indoors!

  • Lovely Cottage in a wonderful setting. Very clean and surprisingly spacious breakfast was very good. Made to feel most welcome

    Edwin2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay, I was checking in late and Jane happily waited up for me and offered me some food as all was shut in the village - great hospitality! Room was nice and clean with a private bathroom and Jane was easy to chat with. If you are staying in the area I really recommend staying here.

    Neil2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! A memorable stay. I spent 3 nights at Jane's delightful family home. The cosy bedroom and en-suite were tops. Breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt, fresh orange juice, yoghurt, croissants, and a selection of teas - perfect. Jane is a unique caring host, full of life, warmth and generous hospitality. Jane went out of her way to accommodate my travel arrangements. I was made to feel welcome from the outset by her lovely family and I shall return. Thanks Jane and co. Ann

  • My husband and I visited Dave. He received us very warmly. We watched football together and exchanged ideas. He gave us good tips for the next goals. The room was really nice and clean. Dave was very polite and accommodating. The breakfast the next day was bombastic! We will be happy to come back another time!

    Diana2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very lovely time at Jilly's place. We stayed there 2 nights and we felt warmly welcomed by her nice husband David who gave us useful tips about the area. Also, before our stay Jilly kindly offered to book a nice pub for us. The room is really nice, the breakfast delicious and it was nice to meet both of them. Highly recommended !

    Raphael2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jilly and David’s was without a doubt the best experience with hosts that we’ve had on AirBnB. It even feels wrong to call them hosts because they made us feel as welcome as family. If they gave Michelin stars for hospitality, they would surely have three (that’s the best you can do in that rating system for those who are unfamiliar)! It’s truly hard to put into words the thoughtfulness of their actions every day, but suffice it to say I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else if I pass through again- and I certainly hope I get the chance.

    Blake2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely outstanding hospitality from Jilly and David. The room was spotless and so comfortable. 5 star hotels could learn from all the amazing touches and attention to detail. Jilly recommended and booked a table for us at the local pub for an evening meal which was just delicious. We can’t wait to visit the area and these lovely hosts again soon

    Peter2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot fault the hosts or the house in any way. if your looking to find a place in this area this should be your first choice.

  • Great place to stay

    Romain2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and an amazing house - huge and warren-like, our toddlers loved it, especially the garden and thoughtful touches like toys and books. Extremely well provided with everything you might need (kitchen equipment and ingredients, books, towels, toilet paper etc). Gus was super responsive and helpful. You really do have to watch out for those low beams though! And bring earplugs if you’re sensitive as it’s next to a road which is fairly busy, although not all night long. A great stay, we would definitely come back.

    Rose2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great house. Quirky and beautiful. Plenty of room for cooking and entertaining. . The garden is great for kids. We had a wonderful stay

    Thomas2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay. We were three couples with 5 babies/toddlers. Most importantly the walls are nice and thick so sound didn't carry from room to room at night. The house is really special and actually a lot nicer than the photos make out. Big garden, big kitchen with room for all of us to cook and dine, lots of cosy lounge spaces. Unlike many airbnbs there were plenty of household items available which made our stay easier e.g. lots of spices, pots and pans etc. The village is also nice with a few cafes and pubs, and a playground. Also plenty of good places to visit nearby.

    Kieran2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our extended family had an amazing weekend at this wonderful house in Headcorn. It’s full of nooks and seating areas so we didn’t get on top of one another. There were plenty of kitchen utensils, plates etc for us all. The children piled onto the zipwire and tree house and loved playing hide and seek around the house. The kids loved the bunk bed room with door leading straight to the garden and their own sitting room and dining table – it was like their self-contained flat! The house is so full of character – luckily most of us are under 6 foot and there are only a few low doorways that bothered us. Also we were lucky with the weather and spent a lot of time outdoors in the fantastic garden. There’s a lovely, friendly pub just a few doors down the High St which did a Sunday great roast. The high street is full of cute shops, cafes and antiques market, and a brilliant Foodies deli further down the road. Thanks so much to Gus for his quick responses and for positively encouraging us to invite a few people over from London to join in the fun – Gus recommended a lovely B and B nearby for our guests to stay in. We didn’t need the hot tub – the garden and comfy seating areas were good enough to keep everyone happy. Hope to be back for another family gathering one day!

    Tania2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house! The architecture is quirky to say the least! Higgledy piggledy rooms with loads of character. Great to have the brief history typed out for us. Lovely big garden with zip wire that our 9yr old twin grandsons loved. Plenty of room for ten of us plus 8 month old twin granddaughters. Plenty of cooking equipment; could have done with a few more plates and mugs but we managed. Great for seeing the local area; a real must is Mote Park. Shame that the hot tub wasn’t available as we were really looking forward to evenings chillin’. Gus did explain that it had been misused so taken away, unfortunately we didn’t know that until a day or so before we went. Overall a great holiday home. Thanks Gus.

  • Amazing historical house and enormous garden for the children to play in safely. The most amazing venue for a family get away.

Our 18th Century Barn is a newly refurbished private annex forming part of a country house set in seven acres of garden and paddocks. The barn is self-contained with many original features and benefits from a quiet location with easy transport links. Located in the historic village of Little Chart, a small village near Pluckley and about 6 miles north-west of Ashford in Kent. We are ideally located for country walks, cosy country pubs or a stop off en route to the continent.
The Barn was converted in early 2019 and brought back to life a delapitated barn used to keep animals in the 18th Century, the Barn is located on the entry to the Surrenden Estate and is part of a listed property dating back to the 15th Century. The Barn is situated away from the main house and has its own south-facing patio area. Guests have access and use of the main garden and children’s play area with swings and climbing frame. The Barn comprises a double bedroom, kitchen/diner/lounge (with sofa bed for extra guests), shower room, own front door. TV in the lounge and wireless internet. There is plenty of parking space and access is via secure entry gate into a private drive. The barn is surrounded by fields and you are welcome to help yourself to fresh eggs, apples, pears, plums and quinces when in season. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the English Countryside at its best whilst still remaining close to all amenities and road and rail network. It is a very quiet and secluded site.
Little Chart is ideally located in a picturesque rural area surrounded by orchards but is still very accessible from the M20 and A20 making it a great base for exploring the Kent Countryside. The Stour Valley Walk, which follows the Great Stour river, and the Greensand Way, from north to south, are both routed through the village and can be picked up directly from the house. We have a very welcoming traditional 15th century country pub, The Swan Inn, within walking distance of the barn. The pub has a riverside garden with children’s play area and offers delicious homemade food should you not wish to use the cooking facilities. The Pluckley farm shop is a 5 minutes drive away and it offers a variety of fresh produce including local wine and Kentish apple juice.
  • This was a beautiful venue, and would recommend staying here to anyone! 5/5

  • Wonderful little place. It has all the necessary facilities and is very cosy. We stayed only one night, but I'd have loved to stay a bit longer. It was lovely to relax here in winter and I can imagine it's even lovelier in summer when you can enjoy the view from the lovely patio. Very happy we chose to stay here.

  • The lodge is amazing. Warm, clean and comfortable with everything you need. Emma was so helpful and kind. The garden was beautiful, with chickens and ducks and a pond. In a lovely area. Easy to access from the A229. Emma provided us with eggs and biscuits, so we had scrambled eggs on toast, which was so tasty. Can't fault the place. Would recommend it, and would love to stay again.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Communication with the host was brilliant from the start of when we booked all the way through to the day of our stay. The lodge was very clean, tidy and basically has everything you needed. Instructions on entering the lodge were easy and the hosts had a booklet of recommended shops, restaurants and takeaways in the area which was helpful. Will be highly recommending to others and hope to return in the future! Thanks 😊

The Apple Store is beautiful converted agricultural building that sits in the lovely gardens of a 16th Century house. Set in a peaceful, rural location, the property is approximately 1.5 miles/2.2 KM from Marden Village and .75 mile/1 KM from Hush Heath vineyard. Ideal for visits to local National Trust and RHS properties like Sissinghurst Castle, Leeds Castle and Great Dixter. Trains from Marden station to London run all day and take less than an hour.
The Apple store is a self-contained single-story unit that was converted to from a utility building in 2017/18. Redesigned by an architect, the Apple Store Is clad in black wooden weatherboarding to match the local architectural style and has been decorated and furnished to a high standard. It consists of a double-bed room with ensuite bathroom (shower), a small hallway and open plan living room with a hand-made well-equipped kitchen (oven/hob/fridge -freezer/dishwasher/microwave/Nespresso maker etc). The kitchen is stocked with an initial breakfast. In the living room there is a dining table and also a large sofa and a smart TV/DVD Player including various apps such as iPlayer, Netflix and Amazon TV . The Apple Store is approximately 35 metres squared and sits on the same property as a 16th Century timber framed house occupied by the owner and family. It has its own private, secluded courtyard behind its own dedicated private gates which also provides space to park a car and access to the quiet country lane. The courtyard has an outdoor dining table, parasol and BBQ. It is perfect, cosy retreat for anyone looking to get away and make the most of what Kent, the Garden of England, has to offer.
The Weald of Kent is an area of outstanding natural beauty and there are some wonderful walks and cycle rides in and around The Apple Store. We are 1.5 miles outside of the village of Marden where you can find two local pubs, a small farm shop, cafe, pharmacy and 3 convenience stores. It is also home to the Green Door, a mini day spa for men and women. Located just 10 minutes away is Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, a recreational and conservational arboretum which offers further cycling and walking trails, cycle hire, Go Ape, outdoor theatre in the summer months and a wonderful cafe. We also have a number of award winning vineyards and micro-distilleries in and around Marden including Hush Heath, Herbert Hall, Turners Cider, Anno Distillers. For a relaxing coffee we love to visit Frankie's Farmshop and nursery, and there are a host of wonderful pubs and restaurants in nearby villages offering everything from traditional pub food to Michelin star cuisine. Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens is a 10 minute drive. The old market town of Cranbrook is also 10 minutes away. The spectacular, moated Leeds Castle is about 20 minutes. Tunbridge Wells, a Georgian Spa town is approx. 25 minutes dive and has a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Historic Rye and the neighbouring beaches of Camber Sands and Winchelsea are about 40 minutes.
  • Beautiful little spot in the countryside. Just the perfect spot for my wife and I for a little getaway. Monique's instructions and help was invaluable, a wonderful host. Would definitely stay again.

  • The Apple Store is an excellently situated to explore Kent, and very well stocked for a short getaway! A really lovely place to stay!

  • My wife and I are seasoned international travelers with decades of adventurers around much of the world. We do have a clue about excellent travel value for the experience and the costs involved. If you are coming to Kent this is it. Enough said. The best of the “Tiny House” concept;; a fabulous host/hostess; clean; and the cottage contains all your need “X” the food! You can not do better. A happy Donna and Doug Burbank

  • Spent the weekend here, absolutely loved our visit. The place was immaculately clean, well designed and the perfect size. We visited the local winery (15minute walk) and go ape (20minute drive). Monique was always very quick to respond and provided a lot of helpful local information. We would highly recommend!

  • The apple store is a lovely place. Very clean, with excellent facilities - good shower, everything in the kitchen was good, place was warm and cosy on a very chilly night outside.

  • Fantastic, modern space with charm and character. Highly recommended ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Me and my wife spent three nights in Monique's wonderful place. We have been using Air B&B for a number of years now, and this is definitely one of the best places we stayed in. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, there was real attention to detail in the decoration, and for two people it felt spacious and luxurious. Monique was quick to communicate and answered all our questions, and check-in and out was very easy. There's plenty to do - nice walks, lovely pubs (we highly recommend The Milk House in Sissinghurst), National Trust and other historic places, but it's also a fantastic place to hole-up and escape the noisy world for a few days. Highly recommended!

  • We highly recommend Monique's place. The cottage is sparkling clean, the bed is very comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. The location was nice and quiet whilst being a short drive from my relatives, who we were visiting over Christmas. Monique was an incredibly gracious host - On Christmas day we realised we hadn't packed flour to thicken a sauce we were making and she kindly let us borrow some.
