This is a working farm with some animals: cows, chickens, ducks, dogs and some beehives close by. It is a pet-friendly RV. It is located on top of a large hill that overlooks the Appalachian Mountains with beautiful views. It is centrally located to Knoxville, Bristol, Morristown, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg.
This RV has a king-size master bed, 1 queen sofa bed, 1 full-size sofa bed and a large bunk bed for the kids (See Pictures).
Central location to the northeastern region of Tennesse. Lots of recreation in the area.
  • I had a great experience staying here for a wedding I was attending in Greeneville. It was only about 20 minutes away, and for the price, it was incredible. Colleen and Douglas accepted my reservation request the day of, and accommodated our 12:30 AM arrival time. I appreciated that so much! Douglas gave my wedding date and I the tour. He welcomed us with kindness and eggs from their farm. (They were a delicious after midnight snack.) This RV much more spacious than renting a room in a hotel— with a lot more privacy. The master has plenty of space, the kitchen has all you need, and the living room is cozy and perfect for lounging. (The only downside was that the bathroom door didn’t close all the way and we couldn’t lock it.) I would’ve liked to have been able to do that, but that’s an easy fix, so I still believe the place deserves 5 stars. It snowed while we were visiting, and the scenery was ABSOLUTELY beautiful! It’s truly breathtaking, so if you can plan on visiting when snow is in the forecast, DO IT! I also loved that I was able to bring my little Morkie pup, Kip. He LOVED running around and playing in the snow. He was relaxed and comfortable and felt right at home. If we had any questions, we just used the app to message and Douglas and Colleen responded in a timely manner. They even allowed us to extend our stay by a night! I was beyond grateful, so we visited Old Oak Taproom (Colleen’s suggestion) that evening. We had a relaxing time there after eating a great dinner at The Salsas Restaurant. We also ate food at a little joint in a gas station called Critter’s Corner— twice! We loved it. It’s no fine-dining place, but head over to Yelp to check out the reviews and see the vibe. Give it a chance. You won’t regret it. Breakfast AND lunch were both enjoyable. Overall, our stay was wonderful. If you want a glamping (glamour camping) vibe head here! You’ll have all the luxuries of a hotel with a great deal more privacy and space. Your view will be unsurpassed, and if you have a little pup, your furry friend is welcome! I had a great weekend, and if I ever head back to the area, Douglas and Colleen will hear from me again!

  • We absolutely loved the experience, the view, the RV, everything! We loved it so much that we extended our stay by a day! Colleen and Douglas were excellent hosts!

    Digangana2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • I gave the location a five due to fact that a ten isn’t available. Getting up and watching the sun rise across the mountains was amazing. We had a wonderful time. Great host.

    Ray2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice! Pleasant surroundings and so nice to have sleeping area choices!

    Brenda2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here with my three kids for the weekend and it was hands down one of the best Airbnb experiences we have ever shared together. Let's start with the awesome outfitted camper that has all the luxuries of home, wonderful picture windows (sits on a ridge with amazing views) and relaxing deck. The hosts were not only quick to respond and assist but where so very nice and friendly (onsite but you wouldn't know it) The farm setting was picturesque with chickens and ducks keeping us company along with Hank the cutest puppy ever. Shopping is only five minutes away. To top it off, the walk we took along the quiet country road past the cows, goats (they love apples) and albino deer was memorable and actually reconnected me with my teenage daughter. Do yourself a favor and book Douglas's place if for no other reason than to see the beautiful sunrise over the Appalachian mountains way off in the distance.

    William2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thge Douglas's place is perfect, it has a feeling of being at home. It was decorated with fall accents and was very clean. We arrived late and had no issues finding the place or getting in. We had fresh eggs everyday from their chickens and Colleen made us blueberry muffins. Couldn't ask for better hospitality then that. They were both very friendly and gave me any info I asked about. Hank the puppy was so cute, can't wait to see him grow up. We chickens and ducks around every day, which I loved. The views were spectacular and right now the fall colors were popping. We were extremely happy with our space and our stay. I recommend their place to anyone, that doesn't mind rolling hills, farm land, and a few chicken and ducks visiting you daily. Sitting on the porch every morning drinking coffee was perfect. Come visit them, you'll love it. 💜

    Kristy2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful views. Very spacious. Very clean. Great people to deal with. They even gave us fresh farm eggs and muffins :)

    Brock2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Far better than expected. The RV itself is very spacious, clean and modern. The place has an amazing view of the mountains. What I like the most about this place are the magnificent sun sets. We where treated like part of the family from the fist moment I met this amazing family. I recommend this place to families who want to relax in a quiet and peaceful place.

  • This is a very nice place to stay and is very secluded and has a very country living feel. Gene and Bunny couldn't have been nicer and were extremely helpful with everything, and answered any question that I had. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is it. The catch and release stocked pond was a surprise, along with learning how to feed the catfish. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Robert2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had such a great time. The cabin is beautiful and really makes you feel at home while deep in the Tennessee mountains. The owners were quick to respond but let us have our privacy. Everything you need for the first night was provided to us. We will definitely be coming back. Anyone who’s looking to stay at this cabin couldn’t go wrong!

    Stephen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Bunny & Gene are amazing hosts and extremely helpful, they go out of their way to help you and accommodate you if you have any questions or need anything at all. "5 stars", aren't enough!! We will definitely be planning another trip to stay at their property! To whom ever this may concern, if you book this property, you will indeed return. Thank you so very much! Sincerely, James & Kayla 😇

    James2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • THIS PLACE IS A GEM! Nestled in the mountains of the great state of Tennessee is a little cabin that feels like home! If you love to be in nature, away from the city, this place is for you. Gene and Bunny are exceptional hosts that go the extra mile. They made us feel like family. Directions to the cabin were perfect. We knew we were in the right spot when we were greeted by lights all over the cabin, parking, and walkway. That helped so much since we got there after dark. The two ponds are so gorgeous and we even had 3 deer greet us in the driveway. When we walked in the cabin, they had homemade cupcakes and a candle waiting for me since it was my birthday. The kitchen is stocked full of everything you need, even a basket of snacks, drinks in the fridge, and coffee in the cabinet! The whole cabin was so clean and tidy...nothing was out of place and we had plenty of towels, wash clothes, etc. In the bathroom, they have a basket of shampoos, soaps, lotions, toothpaste, etc., in case you forget something. There is a perfect sized grill on the porch that we took advantage of as well as plenty of rocking chairs. While you are there, plug in the string of lights on the porch on the far right side...perfect touch! This is a gem and we WILL be back. Thank you, Gene & Bunny!

    Dana2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay! Bunny's place exceeded my expectations by a mile! Very clean, very comfortable beds and furniture. The cabin exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a really nice place to relax, tucked back in the woods but a short drive to places to see and go, this is the best option for you. I will definitely be back!

We are a nonprofit animal rescue located on a mountain just 17 minutes from downtown Hot Springs. We have plenty of room and would love to share our beautiful farm views.
We offer one bedroom with a queen sized bed and a nice mat for a child on the floor. It has black out curtains and there is a white noise machine to give you privacy and help you sleep. There is a shared bathroom next door complete with a tub/shower. The main room is shared space (mostly with furry friends, we do have indoor cats!) and it has a flat screen with Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, and a DVD player. The kitchen also has all kinds of amenities including coffee for the morning.
Very private, house on a knoll, no close neighbors. Steep and long gravel driveway.
  • This place is awesome! It's situated right in the hill and the animals are very well-behaved and friendly. A must-go for animal lovers!

Imagine sleeping to the babbling waters of the French Broad River, flowing by only steps away. You will stay on a private and spacious campsite right on the banks of the river nestled amongst the trees. Relaxation at its finest.
Sweet sweet camping! Right on the banks of the French Broad River. It's called Sweet Spot for a reason. It’s a level and spacious spot with morning and evening shade and afternoon sun to enjoy your day. The sound of the river is ever present and delightful to hear. All you have to do is relax and enjoy the river! Can't you just hear the water calling you?
This is a private 39 acre farm with 360° mountain views right on the banks of the French Broad River. We are two miles from the quaint town of Hot Springs, home of the natural mineral spa. The neighbors on one side are a dairy farm and on the other is an abandoned Limestone mine.
  • This was a WONDERFUL camping experience!! When we arrived, the whole site was set up for us- tent with cots, chairs around the fire pit, a camp sink and stove, picnic table and work table, plus a tub with every cooking implement to make a campfire dinner :) All we had to do was show up with our cooler and sleeping bags! The property is so beautiful- right next to the French Broad River, with a pretty farm next door. There is also an artesian spring on the propriety. The kids and I had a great time exploring and fishing! Lisa and Paul are great hosts! My car battery died and they even gave us a jump. Highly recommend!!

    Stephanie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful property with more space & privacy than most campgrounds (not a bad camping spot anywhere). We had a nice big fire ring and the sound of the river was so relaxing. Lisa and Paul were gracious, friendly hosts. We'll definitely return!

    Erin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place to stay. You have the river right outside your tent, you’re very secluded, and plenty of space to roam. There are great hiking spots nearby and you feel very welcomed as soon as you arrive.

    Matthew2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time! The campsite is beautiful, the tent was great, and the hosts were lovely. It was so nice not to have to deal with setting up/breaking down camp but still have a great camping experience. Had a lovely stay.

    Kate2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is great place! We really enjoyed our time at #9 "The Sweet Spot" and it was an added bonus that everything was there and set up. The camp sites are private and peaceful. The best part was the access to the river right off the campsite we really enjoyed being able to float in the river whenever we wanted. I do recommend bringing tubes & water shoes. This is truly a gem with all the different spots on the property from the river, the cold spring , the stars at night, the train and the old limestone mine. If you are feeling so inclined Hot Springs is a great little town with a coffee shop/ice cream shop, bars/restaurants just a few minutes away. I would also suggest checking out Laurel River trail, an easy walking trail to a local spot to hang out in the water. We look forward to coming back next year.

    Julia2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is camping as it should be - quiet, peaceful, relaxing. At Laughing Waters, one can truly unplug and be present in the beautiful setting of the mountains and the French Broad River flowing right by your campsite. Star gazing is amazing due to no light pollution. The fireflies put on quite a show whlle we were there over Memorial Day weekend. Camp sites are spaced far apart, so you have privacy and breathing room. The hosts were very gracious and helpful - they have ample camping supplies and can provide anything you may need. I am thankful they are willing to share such a beautiful place with others who want to experience nature in such a pastoral setting. Will definitely go back!

    Sam2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • I wasn’t personally able to experience this space. Lisa was very accommodating to the change of plans. My brother said wonderful things about the campsite and Hot Springs.

    Arminda2019-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • The sweet spot was exactly as described. We thoroughly enjoyed camping here! Very private but hosts provide everything you need. Look forward to staying here again on our next time in NC!

CLOSED FOR APRIL Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations and have implemented a 48hr buffer between bookings. Great for a local staycation, as a work-from-home alternative and with updated DSL wifi. Our hand-built private cabins are open year-round. The cabins are equipped with new mattresses, linens & towels, gas grills, NEW hot tubs, indoor fireplaces, yoga mats and private decks with views of the Mountains.
Our guests recommend us for honeymoons, special occasions, romantic getaways or secluded retreats during vacations and holidays. Cabin 4 is a genuine log cabin. It is the newest cabin on the property and very popular with honeymooners or those wishing to getaway for a private weekend. This cabin has 1 queen bed. The mattress is brand new from Tuft and Needle. The lounge area has a gas fireplace (turned on Sept 15-April 15). There is strong wifi, board games, yoga mats and books as well as ROKU TV but the real gem is waiting outside on the deck. Cabin 4's deck has views of Lover's Leap (a fantastic trail in Hot Springs). The deck offers a bistro table with 2 chairs, a swinging birdcage chair, hot tub, and gas grill. This cabin is ideally suited for 1 couple. If you have more than 2 people I would suggest our family Treehouse cabin #2 which can fit 4 adults comfortably and also has a pull-out sleeper loveseat. * This cabin comes equipped with an oven, microwave, and small fridge. There is also a kettle, coffee maker, toaster, french press, coffee bean grinder and a variety of pots, pans and baking dishes.
Treehouse Cabins is located on a serene country road. You will hear Spring Creek below the cabin and we are a beautiful 20 minute walk to the "downtown" core of Hot Springs. Our cabins are a launching pad for the many outdoor activities in the Blue Ridge Mountains including the Appalachian Trail. If you wish to plan a massage or a mineral spring soak at the Hot Springs Spa, a rafting trip or a fly fishing trip to Spring Creek, visit art galleries, coffee shops, and restaurants, we suggest calling ahead. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 many businesses have been forced to conduct themselves differently to keep everyone safe.
  • Cabin #4 is perfect for a relaxing get away.

    Patricia2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the perfect location for a romantic getaway or for anyone just looking for peace and tranquility. The cabin is close to hiking trails as well as a few minutes away from Hot Springs which has a couple of restaurants, spas and shops. Not touristy or crowded at all. Unfortunately the hot springs were closed due to recent flooding but the hot tub at the cabin was a wonderful back up! The cabin is rustic but extremely clean also. We would highly recommend to couples!

    Donna2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic weekend getaway! My GF and I came here for a weekend anniversary retreat and we were thoroughly impressed. The views from cabin #4 were breathtaking and the hot tub in the evening under the stars was mesmerizing. I highly recommend the Tree House cabins to anyone looking for a nice mountain stay. Hot springs has a few restaurants/bars/pubs and Asheville is only a short 40 min drive from town. Check out South Slop in Asheville to check out some of the local breweries! We’re already planning our next trip back in the fall.

  • This was truly out of another world. This was my 1st Airbnb so I was completely blown away. Being outdoors with the kids was just what we needed. Our kids enjoyed the outdoor amenities and learning how to build a fire, there was so much to do and see we just didn’t have enough time to do it in a weekend. We are new to camping and have young ones so this was a great place to get our feet wet.

  • Easily the most unique and encouraging experience I’ve ever enjoyed through AirBnB. Lee is a treasure of a host and she’s so kindly shared her Appalachian loot with the rest of us. Everything from the romantic glass house, nostalgic retrofitted school bus, and quaint pond-side master suite, to the campy lounge, rustic fire pit, and essential (not to mention fully stocked) storage shed, was sparkling with a signature hospitality. If you’re ever anywhere close to the area (seriously, I’m talking max 2 hours here) I know you’ll find the trip over the mountain to Lee’s Sweet Retreat as rewarding and memorable as the colors of autumn themselves.

  • Expectations? You should be able to tell from the listed pictures if this is your kind of place or not. If your imagination is tickled, then you should go. It will be what you make of it, what you dream it to be. Lee sets the stage. You take it from there!! I, for one, would love to journey to Lee's Sweet Retreat regularly.

    Kimberly2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Second time coming and still love Lee’s Sweet Retreat! It is a great getaway spot with awesome hiking spots/waterfalls near by. Would definitely recommend!

  • Lee's retreat is so great! Such a fun place to stay. We will definitely be returning!

  • Had a good time.

  • There would never be enough words for me to adequately describe our experience at this oasis of pure magic. Details, details, details..whimsical ones at that. My husband and 3 kids enjoyed this space so incredibly much.. my children actually ASKED to go to bed so that they could sleep in the school bus! It was just beautiful to lounge around all day, watching the kids run across acres of grass and wildflowers..to be off the grid with no other option except enjoying each other’s presence..unplugged. There are so many fun things to find on this property, so explore your heart out!! We left once only to buy more eggs..but there is absolutely no reason to leave while you are here! It is a natural, whimsical wonderland and we were so terribly sad to leave. If you choose to stay at Lee’s Sweet Retreat, I hope you are able to relax as wonderfully as we did as well as truly appreciate all of the wonderful details she has put into it. Thanks again Lee! We will be returning!!

    Dani2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lee’s place is wonderful. In the full meaning of the word. If you come here, please remember that this is glamorous camping. With all you would expect with camping, but comfortable and lux. The outhouses are the cleanest and the have best touches that I have ever seen. The bath house is a pleasure, the cabins beautiful and comfortable, and so much privacy! I kept remembering the movie Swiss Family Robinson. There is a pleasure finding every hidden nook and cranny! If you are here on a Sunday, there is a great church of Christ only 15 min away! We will definitely stay again! Thank you Lee!!!

Mendin' Fences is a working farm. During the summer months, we host horsemanship clinics. For more: you can find us on the web by the name of our farm. We are a great destination for a quiet getaway, a horse stopover, or even a family reunion if renting the additional bunkhouse. In each direction, you can find many activities to enjoy: Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge; wineries; historical sites (Rogersville & Jonesborough in particular). Two airports are 50 min & 1.25 hrs away.
We moved to northeast TN from Florida. Like many people, we wanted to escape the hectic pace. When Vic retired from the police department, we launched a not-very-semi-retired plan to have a farm and to host educational clinics. So, we have cows and make hay and have an assortment of cats and dogs and, of course, horses. Each year, in May and June, we have an international horse clinician come to our facility to coach adult horse owners about problem-solving and getting a better relationship with their horses without force or gimmicks. These are VERY successful and we have a LOT of fun. (**Please note that during the clinic dates (Mid-May to Mid-June), we have a 3-day minimum required ) Anyone who is staying at our great place during the clinics is welcome to sit in and watch the magic. They are entertaining, even for non-horse peepz. ** NOTE about PETS: We love animals! We understand that they are part of the family. Please discuss bringing your pet with us and get PRIOR approval. ** NOTE about SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: There is the queen bed in the bedroom; a futon in that bedroom becomes a bed -- it is not a full-sized double so most appropriate for one person or for children; the futon/couch in the living room opens to a regular double-size. We mention these dimensions because we want you to be comfortable so take these into consideration when considering the accommodations. ** NOTE about NUMBER OF GUESTS: We have set the limit on the number of guests at what we feel best suits the size of the cabin and for the sleeping arrangements. We operate on the "honor system" and expect our guests to be truthful about the number of guests when making the reservation. If it is determined that more guests than originally reserved arrive, we know you will understand revising your ABB reservation before actually checking in. ** NOTE about CLEANING: We are currently not charging a cleaning fee. We have been VERY fortunate in having lovely and respectable guests staying with us. We ask that you help us continue offering affordable rates for our cabin by being respectful and responsible guests. Lately, my big project is to learn to speak Italian. Why did I think I could do this at this late stage in my life??!! It is fun and challenging. We have visited Italy several times and have had the most fun staying at an "agriturismo" which is similar to what we are offering here. One day, maybe some folks will jump over the pond and stay with US. Right now, we'd like YOU to come and relax and explore this beautiful undiscovered part of the United States.
After a loooong search, we found this farm that had been abandoned for several years. Twenty years later, this is a VERY different place. One of the things we appreciate most is, of course, the views, the space, the solitude AND that we get all that and within 7 miles have access to grocery stores, restaurants, fast food, some shops, etc. The best of both worlds!
  • Nice private space and The Host is super nice. Cool property!

  • Linda is an incredible host and the cabin is one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve ever stayed in! Fully delivered on comfort and gorgeous views. It was helpful to know that the cabin uses well water which has a slightly sulfuric smell but isn’t harmful at all. Would totally recommend to anyone who wants to stay somewhere very special in beautiful Tennessee!

  • Great spot off the beaten path yet well worth the extra mile. If country is your thing you will love this place. Vic met us even though we checked in late. Breakfast items were wonderful. Comfy bed. Very peaceful. Awesome to have dogs stay with us. Thanks a bunch Linda and Vic.

  • Lovely & peaceful! Sit on the porch to watch deer and birds. Sleep soundly on a comfy bed. Eat out or cook for yourself in the kitchen. Explore the beautiful countryside around Rogersville or relax & watch a movie. It’s a good place to unwind.

Cozy, eco-friendly cabin just steps from the riverfront. Drink your morning coffee on the front porch listening to sounds of rushing water. Spend your days exploring, tubing, fishing and hiking among the 5 acres of pristine mountain property or at the half dozen nearby adventure centers. Grill your dinner on the back porch, talk and have drinks by the fire pit. S’mores, rock skipping, books, board games. You’ll be enchanted the moment you open our gate and drive through the lush forest.
If you seek simplicity, a connection to nature and family, a place to laugh loudly and run freely, then come on over. Please note, the cabin is not luxurious. There is no internet connection or a water tap. Water is provided in bottles, large jugs and through rain barrels. Shower is camping style. There is a small television that plays DVDs. A limited selection of movies, board games and books are on site.
We are located in Madison County, the Gem of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The drive is picturesque. We are situated just 15 minutes from Raft USA, French Broad Outpost, Blue Heron Whitewater, Nantahala Outdoor Center & charming downtown Marshall. We are just 20 minutes from Hot Springs Resort and Spa.
  • Perfect little cabin!

  • Great place to stay. Definitely gets cold during fall/winter, so come prepared with extra space heater and/or plenty of wood

  • Great house! Bring firewood for sure

    Dana2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's place was exactly as described! I appreciated her transparency in the listing and throughout our communication. The biggest note I saw in the reviews was the drive so I'd like to touch on that. I drive a 2014 Kia Soul and had 0 issues getting there. The drive to the cabin is gravel and is best navigated during daylight hours. However, it was a part of the adventure for us and we made it just fine at night with downloaded pictures of the directions and a positive attitude. This is the best getaway for people wanting to go off grid and enjoy nature. We rafted at NOC on the French Broad (a 15 min drive) with the best raft guide, Perry and had the time of our lives. We also visited Farmony animal rescue (10 mins from NOC) that was an unforgettable experience getting to interact with all different kinds of animals! The drive to Hot Springs and Asheville isn't bad at all either! Last thing, make sure to stop at the Laurel River Store and get a coffee (their Chai Tea Latte is great!). We are still reminiscing and planning our next getaway here!

    Haley2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very peaceful and relaxing even with the road so close by. While we didnt have any luck trout fishing in the stream, we still enjoyed trying and the sound of it at night. The place was equipped with all the things you would need for a weekend including condiments and eggs in the fridge, shampoo and toiletries, which was a pleasant surprise. This place is priced at an amazing deal for what all is included and its location. I would definitely like to stay here again sometime.

Spend the night under the open sky in our one of a kind Stargazing hut. Experience glamping (fancy camping) in style from the comfort of your queen bed. Cook smores and chill by the fire pit outside. Take a stroll through our farm on the clearly marked trail to visit the sheep, goats, chickens and wildlife grazing nearby. In the morning enjoy your complimentary breakfast. Unplug your electronics and plug into nature.
This open sky hut is an amazing experience. We provide everything you should need for Glamping in the woods. The hut has a queen size bed and a short cot sized bed/couch. There is a propane heater provided for cold nights and lots of blankets to keep you cozy. There is no electricity but we provide a Coleman lantern and there are solar lights. The kitchenette is stocked full of camping bowls, cups, pans and plates. There is a french press coffee maker and a tea pot, silverware, coffee mugs and small wine glasses. We also provide clean drinking water over a hand made sink for all your cooking and cleaning needs. Just outside the door there is a propane cooking stove with pans, utensils and a kettle. You can also cook over the fire or just sit back and relax in the comfy wood chairs. The outhouse is just a few yards away and is very large and private. It also has a handmade sink with clean water. In a separate area there is a hot water outdoor shower. To add to the experience we left the shower roofless so you can keep on stargazing. It has a gravel and moss floor and an attached covered changing room in case of bad weather. The shower is the only amenity that is far away from your hut and we turn it on/off at night when the weather gets below freezing for many days.
Our farm is located in rural TN. There is a dollar general and a gas station within 1mi of our farm. The nearest town with restaurants and grocery stores is about 15mi away. You may lose phone reception while here in the mountains.
  • The Stargazing Hut is amazing! A wonderfully unique place that is so comfortable and has everything you need for an advanced glamping experience. I stayed there with my 2 year old and 5 year old and we loved it! We enjoyed playing games in the hut, walking around the beautiful woods, visiting the animals, and using the outhouse! The best thing was laying in the bed and looking at the sky-even though it was cloudy the night we stayed it was still really cool to see the night sky and the trees. In the morning it was so relaxing and beautiful to watch the sunrise and then lay and watch the clouds float by. The propane stove was easy to use and the fresh eggs were delicious for breakfast! The propane heater and abundance of blankets kept us nice and warm on the cool March night. We would love to come stay again!

  • I have no complaints about this place! The hut and property are amazing. It was a great place to disconnect and be in nature! Mitch was a great host & made sure we had everything we needed. I loved being able to lay in bed and watch the sky & to shower under the stars ✨ highly recommended

  • LOVED STAYING HERE!!!! 10/10 would come back. Mitch is super nice and extremely helpful. He had a bonfire ready for us when we arrived. The instructions on how to arrive were very easy to understand. The hut was AMAZING!!!!!! Super clean!!!Loved the cute decorations all over. We got rained in one day and it was the best experience. Mitch has games and activities in the hut and the clear hut make its an awesome experience. And there was the sweetest cat that came to visit throughout our stay. Definitely coming back!!

    Ana2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was an awesome “Glamping” experience. My husband and I came here for the week of New Years, just to get away and enjoy some time together. We loved how friendly and welcoming Mitch was, and the unique experience we had at Hilltop Hut. We loved feeling sort of “off the grid” and being out in nature a little bit. We made camp fires at night and cooked breakfast on the propane stove top! It was a very pleasant and quaint experience. There was only a small amount of noise from the road nearby, but overall this is the place to go if you want to enjoy some time away from the busyness of life!

    Heidi2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great experience! We loved everything from the fire pit to the farm fresh eggs and seeing the sheep/chicken/goats. The tent was very warm and we went in December! I have already recommended this spot to many close friends and family!

Chickadee Cabin offers cozy and convenient lodging that is on the Appalachian Trail and just five to ten minutes walking distance from Hot Springs' restaurants, shops, and mineral tubs. The perfect romantic getaway for couples who want to experience the rustic Appalachian Mountains but still have WiFi and a jetted tub to return back to!
Just a few minutes’ walk or drive to downtown Hot Springs and a one minute walk from the Appalachian Trail’s entry into Hot Springs, Chickadee Cabin offers excellent convenience while still remaining secluded and peaceful on a quiet street tucked into the woods. Wake up to the birds singing out back and enjoy a fresh morning cup of coffee on the covered porch, or meander in to town on the Appalachian Trail for a day exploring Hot Springs’ restaurants, local crafts, rafting and more. The cabin is within a few minutes’ drive of Hot Springs Spa where you can take a dip in a natural-fed hot tub, or stay home for a romantic evening complete with a two-person indoor Whirlpool jetted tub. This is an ideal cabin for a couple wanting a mountain retreat while remaining close to all that Hot Springs has to offer. There are two single beds available in main room if the kids or your friends will be joining! Pets are welcome for a $25 fee, invoiced after booking. We wash all bedding after pets have been in a cabin. Chickadee Cabin is outfitted with a kitchenette. This includes a mini-fridge/freezer, microwave, InstantPot (think a crockpot, hot plate, and pressure cooker all in one), toaster, coffee maker (of course!), a coffee bean grinder, a sink, a set of basic plates, bowls, and utensils, a cutting board, and knives. There is no oven or toaster over or stove in this kitchenette. On the porch there is a Weber charcoal grill for burgers and veggies! There is a television as well as over 100 DVDs to choose from. We do not have cable TV. We pride ourselves on our VERY CLEAN cabin. Just check out our reviews! COVID-19 VIRUS I sanitize all reasonable and possible surfaces with a bleach solution when I clean. I clean the cabin myself 99% of the time so I can guarantee that I am aware of and quite educated about this coronavirus and how to prevent its spread. Though I am taking extra sanitizing precautions, the best way to avoid this and most other viruses is to wash your hands often and avoid touching your face! We provide plenty of soap ;-) Washing with soap and water is more effective than hand sanitizer. Questions? Feel free to ask! LINENS AND SOAPS All linens (towels, washcloths, sheets, dish cloths) are provided. Bath bars and hand soaps are also included. INTERNET We've got WiFi! PETS ***If you are bringing a pet(s), you must let us know in your reservation request! Air BNB provides no other notification option, so please inform us in your note :)*** Chickadee is pet-friendly! Mostly we expect dogs, but cats may be welcome as well. If your pet is not house friendly (chewing, scratching, general chaos and destruction...) we ask that you kindly leave them elsewhere OR bring a kennel for their time in the house. A $25 pet fee covers up to two pets for the entire duration of your stay. This fee is not automatically included by AirBNB in the reservation cost. Thank you for being honest and letting us know about your pet! You will be invoiced separately after your reservation is confirmed. AIR CONDITIONING Yes! We do have air conditioning to keep you cool on hot summer days. HEAT Yes! We have a remote control operated mini-split heating system to keep you warm on even the coldest winter days. Original baseboard heat is present as well for additional warmth if desired. 2 WHEEL DRIVE ACCESSIBLE The cabin is on a well-maintained state road and the approach and parking is flat, so it is accessible by two wheel drive vehicles in all but the most severe of storms! ADJACENT CABIN Chickadee shares a wall with an adjacent cabin (Goldfinch). Each cabin has its own private parking and private entrance. Shared wall is soundproofed for privacy. TWO TO THREE NIGHT (seasonal) minimum stay for reservations including a Friday or Saturday. ONE NIGHT minimum stay offered for Sunday-Thursday nights. Weekend one night weekend stays will be accepted if the day is "stranded" (rented the night before and night after) or if it 4 days or less from your desired check-in date.
Chickadee Cabin is located near town and only steps from the southern entrance to the Appalachian Trail. We would guess that we are 78 steps away, but haven't actually counted :) The AT will cruise you straight on in to Hot Springs, no car required, and you can expect it to take 5-15 minutes depending on your ability level and where you are headed in town. A three minute drive will land you at the famous Hot Springs Spa and Resort, where you can soak in Hot Springs' naturally heated mineral tubs. For a real "day at the spa," check out their massages as well! We are across the street from the Laughing Heart Lodge, which is a beautiful building that is an old Jesuit Retreat Center and is now operated as a predominantly private events center. There are public yoga and dance classes periodically, and guests of Chickadee have an open invite from the owners to enjoy their beautiful garden and grounds! There are other houses on our road, but they are not visible from the cabins, as we are surrounded on three sides by forest.

  • The cabin was in a perfect quiet spot in Hot Springs, so we could get everywhere easily. It was super clean and the hot tub was powerful and a wonderful way to warm up after being outside hiking or walking on the chilly winter days while we were there. We look forward to coming back in spring or summer so we can take advantage of the deck and all the plants around the cabin!

  • Great spot in hot springs! Highly recommended!

  • From the jacuzzi tub beside the bed to the amazing location, Chickadee was the perfect place for a mini vacation. The only thing I would change is for there to be a little hot plate in the kitchenette.

With the fire going you'll be ready to kick back relax and make smores. When you're ready to turn in for the night, be sure to open your curtains all the way to get the full glamping experience. Then watch the embers flicker from the fire from the comfort of your bed. After a night of stargazing your kitchenette will provide everything you need for a delicious breakfast. Just outside the dutch door there is a propane stove and all the necessities to cook your fresh organic eggs, oatmeal and coffe provided. Everything you need to shower is here, just head up the stairs and stroll across the yard to the private shower area. We kept the shower stall roofless so you can stargaze or daydream anytime, and the connected changing room has a clear roof in case of poor weather. When you're done, leave your towel on the outside hook to sun dry. We also provide a solar bag shower if you prefer a more off grid experience. We line dry all the linens to promote a healthy planet and compost the eggshells and coffee grounds. Our chickens free range and are fed 100% organic.
Surrounded by beautiful farmland and forests, this area is nestled between the 2 rivers that create Douglas Lake. Just a few miles away is Rankin Bottoms, a famous bird sanctuary.
  • We were looking for a peaceful weekend away and that's exactly what we found. Mitch is there for anything you need, but you have plenty of privacy, aside from the chickens and sweet kitten that came to greet us every day. We also met the dogs, sheep, and an 11 day old goat named Gus. The farm fresh eggs for breakfast each morning was my favorite touch. We visited in mid-March but between the fireplace, heater, and electric blanket, we were very comfortable. The roosters will make sure you don't sleep in, but the hut was inviting, clean, and cozy. We'll be back!

  • The perfect getaway in the trees. We loved the unique space and blend of decorating styles. Everything was super clean. We had a great time exploring the property with our dogs. Mitch is a great host; friendly and easy to get a hold of. They have really thought of everything you would need for a perfect glamping experience.

  • We had the BEST time at the star gazing hut. Mitch was very helpful and made sure we had all the essentials for a relaxing weekend. It was chilly, but the space heater and heated blanket worked wonders. All of the animals were very friendly. A wildly relaxing getaway. 10/10!

    Amanda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mitch was a wonderful host. He went out prior to our arrival to start a fire, turn on the heater and lit some candles. He was easily accessible, quick to respond to questions yet respected our privacy. The hut is clean and well stocked. We enjoyed ourselves and I highly recommend this experience.

  • This place was spectacular and we could not have been happier to find it! Loved the trails and loved seeing the property. Such a special, unique experience that left us relaxed and as ease. Favorite Airbnb we have stayed in.

    Susanna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is place for people who want to camp but without bringing in and setting up their tent. It is very entertaining for kids as there are animals such as sheep, chicken etc. Stars are amazing because it is outside of town of Newport and you can lie down and see them through the transparent roof. Well thought off. there is little stove, kitchenware, Overall it is a fun place to stay. Mitch is a very pleasant host ready to help.

    Mikhail2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really comfy space tucked away in the woods. Loved all the small things that made it feel like home. Clean and well stocked, appreciated the board games and french press especially! Awesome location on a small farm, would highly recommend this place, it will be an experience you'll cherish and not soon forget.

    Monica2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mitch has created such a beautiful place to appreciate the great outdoors and reconnect with nature. The hut is clean and cozy with everything you could need, and truly honors the natural space. The animals are so sweet, and the moss and trees are stunning (makes you feel like you're somewhere in Middle Earth). If you need a quiet and magical place to retreat to, this is it!

13 minutes from The Appalachian Trail. Great location for traveling nurses/workers. 50% and 15% discounts when booking monthly/weekly. Perfect for outdoorsy types, and only 15 minutes from town. If you are looking for an extended stay, but do not see the dates that you need available, please contact me through an inquiry-I may have another place available! :-)
This is a 100-year-old cabin-like home that I renovated a few years ago. It is very cozy. :-)
Welcome to The Appalachian Mountains! This home is approximately 15 minutes from the town of Greeneville TN. It is 13 minutes from The Appalachian Trail (which is also the TN-NC state line) The location is 32 minutes from Hot Springs NC, one hour from Asheville, NC, and one hour from Johnson City, Tennessee. It is definitely in a great spot if you like hiking or whitewater, or mountains in general! I am originally from Michigan, but have lived in Tennessee for 12 years now. I would be happy to help you learn about the area. :-)
  • Very cozy and great area if you like the country. Great place to relax and enjoy the view.

  • Honestly most people don't stay at an AirBNB for a second stay. That's the beauty of AirBNB, every stay is a new adventure. The cabin is an exception to this.... This is our second stay at the cabin and will not be our last. It is cozy and comfortable and super clean. I was get a good run in on the back roads that surround the cabin and the amazing scenery that you can enjoy just sitting on the porch makes this worth coming back too. We will be back again. It also helps that Jason is a great host!

    Chuck2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you're into rustic comfort in a well-renovated historic cabin away from hubbub of traffic and civilization (but just a few miles away from town) and close to the Appalachian Trail, this place is it! Imagine sitting in an old wicker rocker on a shaded porch with morning coffee and gazing across rolling pastures, a treelined stream, and distant mountains.

    Sharon2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • BOOK THIS PLACE! One of the most scenic trips I’ve taken in quite some time, the cabin fits perfectly in this adorable picturesque town. It was very easy to find with gps and helpful tips from Jason. The place was sparking clean despite having arrived a few hours after previous guests. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine in the fridge to unwind from the trip, and all the helpful information was located right on the kitchen table. Drinking the fresh coffee on the porch in the morning was super relaxing and the perfect way to start the day before checking out the town or awesome hiking spots. Don’t be put off by the wood stove, that thing is serious. The cabin is very well insulated and stayed very warm the entire trip, even in the upstairs slept comfortably without the need for extra blankets or heaters. There are also step by step instructions on how to start your fire if you’re not familiar with the concept. It had every comfort of home. I can not wait to book my next trip with Jason!

    Christin2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We were in town for 2 nights for a wedding and wished we could've stayed longer. Jason's cabin was so so cozy and comfortable, excellent value for the price. Everything was as listed, and most importantly, clean! We especially enjoyed the claw foot tub and sitting on the front porch watching the cows. The bottle of wine and coffee was a sweet touch. Thank you!

    Kier2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome place! Rustic and charming. We loved the location and local recommendations. Our timing was impeccable because the mornings were cool and sitting on the front porch enjoying the view and neighbor cows while drinking coffee is my idea of perfect. Thanks Jason for letting us stay. We will definitely be back!

    Melissa2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • 1. Exceptionally clean. Probably the cleanest we’ve been to. Will stay again if we visit the area in the future. 2. The stairs going to the second floor are not toddler safe, but the is a bed on the first floor if you have kids. 3. No A/C, but we were there in September and stayed cool enough. In fact, my wife still used the blankets at night. 4. When you pull out of the driveway, be careful not to cut too sharp to the right. There’s a culvert there that would be hard on your vehicle if you dropped a wheel in it. 5. Ever heard of the app “Marco Polo”? My wife, who loves history, sent several videos out to family and friends. The house totally reminded me of my great aunts home back in the 60’s. I explained how I thought it started as a one room cabin, and the kitchen/second floor were add ons. (Remember, it’s a century old and probably a simple, common country residence for the area.) My wife did say, and I quote, “well, they did a good job remodeling it.”

  • Jason does a great job . He answered every question I had within minutes of asking. He really thought of everything to make it a peaceful , enjoyable experience. The views are amazing from the front porch. Jason does a great job of directing to hiking trails and local attractions. Close to shopping and restaurants. Super clean . Kitchen is well equipped to prepare meals right there . Everything needed to stay in or go out! Loved all the thoughtful little touches. Frustration free experience. Highly recommended.

  • We really enjoyed our stay. We would love to come back anytime! They were some of the nicest people we have encountered through Airbnb and really enjoyed a relaxing secluded stay.

  • This is a charming, comfortable and easy to access house. Beautiful surroundings, quiet and peaceful. Cathie and Richard were so gracious and friendly, hope to meet them again. Choose the Davis farmhouse, you'll love it.

    David2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • I grew up in NE TN and Cathie’s home was like going back to my family home all those years ago. The house itself envelopes its visitors in welcome coziness. Cathie is an endearing hostess who has thought of her guests’ every need and is quickly available should you need her. It goes without saying that her home is spotless, that the beds are comfortable, and the towels are soft. What else could one expect from such a place? I think that my very favorite thing about Cathie’s home was the delicate music of the wind chimes that serenaded us just outside our window. I fell asleep to their sweet lullaby.

  • Tonette was a gracious host. She welcomed us when we arrived a little early and let us in. We had a late addition to the number of people staying during our stay and she was very helpful. We loved walking the trails on her property and the horses. If we are ever going to travel to the area again we will defiantly check for openings with Tonette first.

    Dan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough good things about Tonette’s place. It was so much better than we expected. Quiet, peaceful, clean, and cozy. It’s in the middle of nowhere with only a small Dollar General and one restaurant within ten minutes’ driving distance, so if you want a quiet getaway in the country, this is the perfect place! There is a town twenty minutes south with more stuff in it. It’s a very old house, but everything works perfectly and it’s been well taken care of! We felt at home as soon as we walked in. We didn’t have cell service, but the WiFi was strong. The photos don’t do it justice. Don’t hesitate to book a stay here. It was wonderful. 10/10! We’re already planning our next visit!

  • Clean, cute space in a convenient location for our needs. Host is very nice & responsive. Great value!

    Tiffany2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • First, I must say the Host Denise is extremely kind, knowledgeable of the area (recommended some amazing places) and truly an amazing host (the Wifi kicked off about 7am on a Sunday - I sent an email and she responded almost immediately and had it fixed just as fast). The communication was fast and accurate and easy check-in. The space is basically an efficiency apartment with a very comfy bed!! The kitchen is separate from the bedroom and a small quaint bathroom. The kitchen has the essentials needed if you want to make your own meals. This is perfect for a traveling Nurse or others who are needing extended stay accommodations. The price is excellent for what you get and it has a laundry room across the hall, which was very convenient. Also, there is the yummy Rustic Cow coffee and ice cream parlor downstairs!!!! The location is excellant because there are several restaurants within walking distance and a Walgreen you can walk to as well. Minutes from Interstate 40. Denise and her husband are very friendly people and I highly recommend their Airbnb, I will book again when I return and hope for a longer stay.

Explore the natural beauty & history of the Tennessee Valley while staying in a pastoral farm setting with over 50 llamas & babies. Relax and enjoy a two-story log cabin, hot tub, two large porches, koi pond, free Wifi, & llamas. The private upstairs suite includes the primary bedroom (queen bed), a loft bedroom (double bed), and a full private bathroom which is dedicated solely for your use. Guests can also wake up to a continental breakfast including coffee, tea, juice, fruit, & yogurt.
Hey guys, first of all, we are not a fancy place, just a “homey” cabin and a friendly couple who happen to be “llamaholics!” — The Suite occupies the top floor of the log cabin and consists of two bedrooms and a private bathroom with a tub/shower combination. The 2nd loft bedroom, that overlooks the living room, is made available when there are three or four visitors in the same party, and who know each other. A third or fourth person activates the 2nd bedroom option at an additional $25/per person/per night. -- Should two persons want to occupy the two separate rooms, their charges would be based on a third person $25/per person/per night to cover additional cleaning efforts and the loft bedroom usage. -- Visitors never share the bathroom with unknown persons. -- Due to the private bedrooms being upstairs with a loft and a possible safety hazard for children, we require guests to be 13 and up. -- Both bedrooms are outfitted with Soft Linens and comfortable mattress & pillows. Thick Bath and Hand Towels are provided as well as Wash Cloths. -- The Primary bedroom called "The Llama Room" is private with a door lock and window. It also has a queen size bed, closet, dresser, night stands, and a small table & chairs for reading/computer work. -- The Secondary bedroom called "The Llama Loft" is a loft overlooking the cabin living room. It has no door but a privacy screen entering the area. It has one double size bed, armoire, dresser, and night stands. It has no window, but is a very cozy space with a beautiful wood vaulted ceiling. -- Free parking is available in front of the house. There are two steps up to the Main Level. Guests must be physically able to climb one flight of stairs to reach their accommodations on the top floor. -- All guests have access to the common areas on the Main Level which includes an open-concept Living Room with a beautiful stone-faced fireplace, Dining Room, and Kitchen. Use of the kitchen for cooking is not included as there are a variety of restaurants in the area. The TV is in the Living Room available for guest use. -- The log cabin has two porches. The front porch has willow furniture and a running water koi pond. The back porch is about 10 feet high, has a porch swing, and overlooks one of the llama pastures and Quaker Knob Mountain. We have an extra fridge on the carport for your drinks & food that you bring with you. There is a hot tub spa on a landing beside the log cabin, so bring your swim suit. -- Visitors must not be allergic to animals as we have llamas, goats, and miniature horse & donkeys. We also have two indoor/outdoor cats and a very friendly Dachshund wiener dog named "Rusty" that lives in the house. -- ** We also offer STORYTELLING LLAMA HIKES ON THE FARM ($35/person) (minimum of two). You get to lead your own llama on trails through the farm while listening to stories about local history & humorous farm stories. Mr. Jerry leads the hikes so you must call the farm ahead to schedule these hikes. **MAKE YOUR OWN LLAMA FRIENDSHIP BRACELET OR LLAMA KEYCHAIN ($15 each) Ms. Carolyn, a fiber artist & teacher, will teach/help you to braid llama yarn into something you can keep as a momento. (Yarn included) ** The extra activity charges can be paid via cash/check when you arrive, but we must know ahead of time to plan. We also have a Llama Store with lots of llama stuff that you can shop in.
Our farm is centrally located in Northeast Tennessee close to golf courses, hiking trails, whitewater rafting, and historical places such as the Birthplace of Davy Crockett (3 miles), Home of Andrew Johnson 17th President (8 miles), and Jonesborough, The Storytelling Capital of the World (14 miles). We are also located within 1 1/2 hours drive to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Asheville, and the Virginia Creeper Trail.

    Sean2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • They are excellent hosts! Much better than I even hoped! Such a sweet, kind, and smart couple. I loved learning about their lives and exploring their farm. Carolyn, unprompted, even taught us how to spin llama wool on a spinning wheel! She is so patient. A baby llama was born when I was there and they let me watch. They are so great and kind to the animals. A must stay!!!

    Jacqui2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

    Julie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jerry and Carolyn are wonderful hosts! The place is beautiful and felt like home. We didn't get a chance to do the experiences offered, the art class and nature hike but hopefully will have more time on our next visit. The llamas and all the animals were so much fun to watch. This is definitely a memorable place to stay!

    Diana2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful experience for my family. Jerry and Carolyn are just the perfect hosts. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They have a darling little dog named “Rusty” and I can’t say enough about the beautiful property or the whole Llama experience!!! We went inside the fence with several of them and they are so tame, sweet, curious, incredible animals. They also had lots of other cool animals.... We were celebrating my husbands 50th birthday with a surprise trip to the NASCAR race at Bristol (which I highly recommend EVEN if you are not a racing fan....what an awesome time....it is only one weekend of the year though) ... Anyway, this was a beautiful drive and not to far from the track (maybe 40 minutes or less even) This is a great place to stay and it will be even better when they open up their other building for a more private lodge. Carolyn layed out a really yummy display of breakfast items and had coffee available for us (which I wasn’t even expecting) and I thought it was such a nice touch. It was Just a really cool experience. Be prepared to take a lot of pictures on their little slice of heaven and don’t forget to check out their little gift shop with handmade Llama things.

  • Beautiful views, awesome common spaces which encourage community. Very much enjoyed hiking, bonfires, cooking, the views, and authentic conversations. What a good break from the stressful corporate world. Recommend!

  • We had a great time unplugging and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

    Steven2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This property was absolutely gorgeous! This was my husband and I’s first glamping experience, as we normally do mainly backpacking when we go to Appalachia. Every detail on this property was well thought out, from heated floors In the bathroom, to candles in the cabins, to helpful hiking instructions. We both must say, we loved this glamping experience and plan to tell our friends about this place and intend to come back ourselves. The best part- it was especially nice to disconnect and be in nature on sacred, beautiful land. The owners were very nice, helpful, and kind to us as well. We appreciate you letting us share your space with us and our pups.

  • This place is worth a visit.

  • This was probably our favorite Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at! Are already making our way back today unexpectedly after only staying there a week ago because we liked it so much.

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time. Paint Rock Farms is a little piece of paradise!

    Mattie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The location is beautiful. The cabins and bathhouses were spotless! It was a wonderful place to get away from the busyness of life and enjoy God's creation.

    Emily2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous property! Be aware that the cabins are like screened-in porches. (From the photos, I thought it was glass.) The cabins themselves also have no electricity, though there are lots of outlets in the beautiful barn. Also, there aren't individual firepits or picnic tables at each cabin like we imagined. All that said, it was an incredible stay and we loved it!

(Airbnb lists this as a room with an airbed but we do not supply a bed or tent). Primitive campsites set down in our quiet valley. There are water spigots, and guests have access to a beautiful men's and women's bathhouse with hot showers.
Airbnb lists this as a room with an airbed but we do not supply a bed or tent. Horse Trails, Pool. Great for Large Groups, Youth Groups, Camps, Family Reunions, Horse Clubs, Clinics, etc. The trails lead up into the Cherokee National Forest. One trail goes up to the Meadow Creek Fire tower overlooking the ranch, then goes down the other side of the mountain to the Burnett Gap.
Aaah, peace and quiet. A close knit neighborhood at the foot of the mountains. Easy access to hiking and horse trails. Lot's of wild edibles if you know who to ask such as blueberries, black raspberries, nut trees, and chicory. It stays cooler up here than down in Greeneville, and we get magnificent cool winds. Sometimes when it's been raining the clouds will flow over the mountain like water. We also have our fare share of wildlife- plenty of rabbits, the occasional deer, raccoons, foxes, turkeys, killdeer, cardinals, bluebirds, hummingbirds, Canadian geese, various hawks and birds of prey, whippoorwill, doves, swifts, woodpeckers, and many more. We also have free ranging cats, all fixed, spayed, and vaccinated. Also friendly!
  • Lynn's place is absolutely beautiful. You are surrounded by nature and can see the stars at night. Everything is quiet and peaceful. Lynn and the other workers on the farm were all extremely kind and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We originally planned to stay one night but had to add an extra night because we didnt want to leave! Stay here and you'll have a wonderful, relaxing time under the stars.

  • A.J. went above and beyond his responsibilities. I had never used the app and accidentally booked two different campsites. He immediately refunded my money. Legally he could have kept the money but he was honest and refunded the full amount. Excellent host!

    Chris2018-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a true off the grid feel, but still have an awesome restaurant onsite for convenience, and clean facilities then this is the place for you. Awesome views and better hosts!

    Kristy2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beautiful! There was so much room to spread out and pitch a tent. The property was beautiful and right along the mountains. Very flexible with set up and check in. The bathhouse was super clean! I really enjoyed my stay and wish I couldve stayed longer. thank you again!

    Annie2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • A.J. was an excellent host. We loved our stay at this campsite. Everybody was super friendly and helpful. They gave us directions to arrive and leave the area that went around the hills and dirt roads. The campsite was very peaceful. There was a site for trailers and a site for tent camping. There was also a bathhouse near the campsites with showers. Lots of animals on the site too. There were horses in a stable and some very friendly cats that wandered around. A.J. also had maps that showed how to get to each campsite to make navigating the land super easy.

This is a unique custom home next to Douglas Lake that melts away the stress of life. The lake and mountain views are breath taking to enjoy on the spacious deck or from the interior. The home brings the outdoors inside with a 23 foot oak tree and several other trees for decor. Imagine sitting by a gas fireplace, a good book in hand and soft music in the background, with the joy of your mind being free for your imagination. Deer, turkey and birds are plentiful to remind you of nature.
There is no T.V. service to help with the serenity, but there are many movies to choose from, and plenty of CD's for music choices. A hammock awaits you next to the waters edge to add extra peacefulness listening to the birds, fish jumping or a private setting to read a book. On crisper Fall days you can wrap yourself in a cocoon enjoying the freshness of the air. There are boat rentals to have a day of fun on the lake. Douglas Lake is known for one of the top places in the world for bass fishing. Fish from the shoreline or by boat and fry up the fish for an evening fish fry on the grill. Free Kayak and canoe available for use at the home and seasonal swimming is always enjoyed. I look forward to sharing this home to help create YOUR memories.
Baneberry Golf course is in this small community for all of you golfing fans. We are less than an hour away to the Great Smokey Mountain adventures of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and Dollywood for memories of all the attractions of that area. Knoxville is also less than a one hour drive.

The cabins are equipped new mattresses, linens & towels, gas grills, NEW hot tubs, indoor fireplaces, yoga mats and private decks with views of the Mountains.
Our guests recommend us for honeymoons, special occasions, romantic getaways or secluded retreats during vacations and holidays. Cabin 3 is one of our most popular cabins. Its got a unique style that our guests have really appreciated. This cabin has 1 queen bed. The frame was hand made by the previous owner and the mattress is brand new from Tuft and Needle. The lounge area has 2 papasan chairs to tuck into on cozy nights and a gas fireplace (turned on Sept 15-April 15). There is strong wifi, board games yoga mats and books as well as ROKU TV but the real gem is waiting outside on the deck. Cabin 3's deck has a tree growing through it and views of Lover's Leap (a fantastic trail in Hot Springs). The deck offers a swinging birdcage chair, a brand new hot tub and a separate grilling area with gas grill. This cabin is ideally suited for 1 couple. If you have more than 2 people, I would suggest our family Treehouse cabin #2 which can fit 4 adults comfortably and also has a pull-out sleeper loveseat. *This cabin has no oven but does have an induction hot plate, microwave, toaster and small fridge. There is also a kettle, coffee maker, french press and coffee bean grinder.
  • Treehouse #3 was adorable! It was clean and modern and very cozy. The back porch had amazing views and a sparkling clean hot tub. My husband and I stayed for the weekend for our anniversary and it was perfect for a quick, relaxing getaway. The town of Hot Spring is quaint and charming, too!

  • A gorgeous cabin with beautiful views. Perfectly cozy and meant for that special getaway.

    Maggie2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! The place could benefit from a sofa or loveseat instead of the pod chairs (no cuddling in those out of fear of ending up on the floor in a pile of broken chair parts) and the porch swing is a one person chair too (another missed cuddle opportunity). Other than that, great place! Bring a fan, the bed allows for 0% air flow 🥵

    James2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin! Just the right size for a couple's getaway! The views were great and the cabin was exactly like the photos. Completely in love and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a cozy cabin. Jennifer was very helpful in relaying all the necessary details for the stay. Best vacation!

1-room cabin on 6 acres in the Smokey Mountains outside of Newport, TN close to major tourist attractions like Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, hiking trails, rafting, craft fairs and more. Views & hot tub. Sleeps a family of 4-5. Privacy & charm
Ridge Runners’ Retreat, 1299 Sprouse Lane, Newport, TN, is a rural one-room cabin located on six acres in the Smokey Mountains outside of Newport, Tennessee in famous Cock County not too far from major tourist attractions like Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, hiking trails, rafting on the Pigeon River, craft fairs, and more. There are mountain views on three sides of the property.
Sweet rural atmosphere. Old time barns along road. Country homes, pastures and hills. A wonderful old oak tree in the driveway turnaround. Quaint one-room cabin. Remember you're in the mountains, so when the weather's warm bring your bug repellant. You might see wildlife also! We've seen deer right out front! Refreshing get away!
  • Great secluded spot! Dogs loved being able to roam and definitely had enough room to do so. Great view on top of the hill. The bed is only a full size so it can be a little cramped but otherwise the cabin itself is a great size for two people. The hot tub on the balcony is amazing. Generally was a clean cabin with plenty of parking out front.

INTERNET We’ve got WiFi! AIR CONDITIONING Yes! We do have air conditioning to keep you cool on hot summer days. In contrast with loud traditional A/C units, our mini-split operated air conditioning is very quiet so you will not be disturbed while sleeping! HEAT Yes! We have a remote-controlled mini-split heating system to keep you warm on even the coldest winter days. Original baseboard heat is present as well for additional warmth if desired. 2 WHEEL DRIVE ACCESSIBLE The cabin is on a well-maintained state road and the approach and parking is flat, so it is accessible by two wheel drive vehicles in all but the most severe of storms! ADJACENT CABIN Goldfinch shares a wall with an adjacent cabin (Chickadee). Each cabin has its own private parking and private entrance. Shared wall is soundproofed for privacy. TWO TO THREE NIGHT minimum stay (seasonal) for reservations including a weekend night (Friday and Saturday). ONE NIGHT minimum stay offered for Sunday-Thursday nights. Weekend one night weekend stays will be accepted if the day is "stranded" (rented the night before and night after) or if it 4 days or less from your desired check-in date. Holidays and area festivals may have longer stay requirements.
Goldfinch Cabin is located near town and only steps from the southern entrance to the Appalachian Trail. There are public yoga and dance classes periodically, and guests of Goldfinch have an open invite from the owners to enjoy their beautiful garden and grounds! There are other houses on our road, but they are not visible from the cabins, as we are surrounded on three sides by forest.
  • What a fantastic cabin in a great spot. It offers beautiful views, a convenient location and it's sparkling clean. I can't wait to visit again, thank you for a great stay!

    Mackenzie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie’s place is super clean and cozy! I loved that the shower and bathroom were separate, it really helped with our large group. The cabin is located in a great spot right next to the Appalachian trail and walkable to downtown hot springs. We had a great time in the downtown area! We also walked through downtown all the way to the lovers leap trail, it was beautiful :). The beds were comfy and clean, and the host was there to answer any questions we had right away. It’s also nice that it is dog friendly. The wifi didn’t always have a strong signal, but there were also seven of us staying there. If you do have a big group coming there is no hang out area besides the deck and dining room table that only hold 4 people at a time. But, I had brought a folding memory foam mattress that converts to a couch and we put it in the bedroom with the double and single bed and used it as a living area when we wanted to hang and it was fun! So I recommend bringing some bean bags or something and doing that if you want to spend some time together in the cabin and you have more than 4 people staying. Also, there is only a mini fridge and it doesn’t hold much, luckily it was cold enough outside to keep some stuff in our trunk while we were there. We really enjoyed our stay and loved that it was doggo friendly, so clean and cozy, and close to town! Thanks Natalie!

    Brittany2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing place for the hiker! Will definitely stay and I highly recommend this place for the hiker or for anyone for a get away!

  • What a wonderful stay in Hot Springs. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Natalie!

    Annie2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie’s place is wonderful. We stayed during the winter and we needed the baseboard heat and the heat from the extra room. The doors being open helped heat the rest of the cabin. Loved Artisun, the local library, hiking Lover’s Leap and exploring the town. We also headed to Asheville for a little fun as well!

  • What a great place! In addition to the cabin being pristine and having everything you need for a comfy stay, you are literally a minute walk to a gorgeous section of the AT. Thank you Natalie and family! We hope to be back.

  • Cute place to be able to relax and unwind. Just steps to the AT where you can venture off for a day, or even walk through town and hike on the Lover's Leap Trail. This was just a few days of rest and relaxation for my husband and I, but had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves, fix a meal on the grill, play some board games and watch some movies. We did the Walking Town Tour and enjoyed learning the history of the area and meeting nice folks! You can't go wrong with the Iron Horse Saloon for a great meal either! We will be back when the hot springs are back in order for sure!
