  • The place was great, and perfect for a quick weekend trip up north.

  • Shannon was such a wonderful host! From the time of booking she was very informative about the check in process and then very easy to get in touch with either to answer my questions or to simply wish us a safe journey home. The house is such a cute little home in the middle of a cute town! We had such a blast this weekend! One thing that I definitely recommend is simply sitting on the porch looking at the night sky! The amount of stars you see is out of this world... no pun intended! Will definitely be visiting again!

    Annabelle2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had some wonderful days in Shannons house. We enjoyed both relaxing in the garden and exploring the wonderful nature of the UP. You can easily reach e. g. hiawatha forest, pictured rocks, fayette and Kitch-iti-kipi. We absolutely recommend this peaceful place away from the cities!

    Ramona2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Nahma was a very pleasant one. The house was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and Shannon thought of everything we might have needed. The location is a short drive to a number of UP attractions. We would not hesitate to recommend this rental to others.

  • Great place to stay. It’s very clean and a great location. You’re not too far to go around exploring to other cities, and if you want to stay and walk around the area, you can explore there, too!

If you love tranquil cozy cabins in the woods, you will love Sylvatica Ecolodge! Sylvatica is a latin word meaning "of the forest" and this lodge is exactly that. It's a 4-acre property adjacent to the Hiawatha National Forest with a very diverse mature hardwood forest, a 0.5 acre planted prairie, a pond, woodland plant gardens, butterfly/hummingbird gardens and a vegetable garden. The property includes a 0.3 mile long interpretive nature trail explaining the natural environment and history.
The interior of the ecolodge feels snug and comfortable and like part of the forest at the same time. The concentric layers around the house of natural forest on the outer ring, then semi-wild woodland plant gardens, then our rustic porches and finally woodsy interior. You'll feel like a forest creature here! The inside has a semi-rustic interior design melded with modern touches. We have a very efficient propane fueled heating system and hot water heater, modern foam insulation and natural bamboo flooring in the bathroom. Lots of local materials were used in the construction. Maple floors, white ash paneling, a white cedar arch way, an oak bookshelf along with oak and hickory furnishings. The flooring and ash paneling were both salvaged. A spacious rainforest themed eco-bathroom, laundry closet, an open living area with a nature library, a full-sized kitchen, a roomy loft with two sleeping areas, and a nice living/dining area. The whole home is decorated with local nature pictures taken by the owners. Our guest services include a guide to local nature attractions (written by the owner) and include directions to and information about a nearby Indian cemetery, a beautiful secret beach, old growth forests, lakeshore cliffs, lighthouses, great areas for blueberry picking and the breeding grounds for the endangered Kirtland's warbler. This location is only an hour from Pictures Rocks National Lakeshore, 45 minutes from Fayette State Park and Kitch-iti-Kipi Big Spring (Palm's Brook State Park) 1.2 hrs from Marquette's many attractions, 1.5 hrs to Seney National Wildlife Refuge. Foxes, woodchuck, abundant deer, 125 species of birds have been seen here. Flying squirrels regularly visit the bird feeders on the porch at night! With all this abundant nature and nearby attractions, its a great hub for a week or 2 vacation!
The lodge is located in a beautiful hardwood forest with few neighbors present. It is a 30 minute drive to the closest town with a full-sized grocery store (Gladstone), although Rapid River has a some basic amenities and restaurants (20-25 minutes away). Cell reception is limited. Sometimes calls go through upstairs or in the driveway.
  • We had a wonderful stay. A quiet and remote time in an Upper Peninsula cabin. We enjoyed the snow and winter with great snow showing. We definitely plan to stay again and will try in the summer. Ryne and Jenny are easy to communicate with quickly for any questions.

    Mike2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first “ecolodge” and we absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I think it can be better appreciated in the summer it was still a great stay in winter time as well. This cabin is a huge space and has everything you need. We mostly appreciated how it allowed you to really feel the quite stillness of winter.

    Luke2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin set in a beautiful woods. I spent the week reading, painting, and just sitting around looking at the leaves on the trees. When the wind is calm you can hear the surf; when the wind is up all you hear is the rustling of leaves. All of it, just perfect.

    Ann2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a really beautiful part of the Upper Peninsula. We could tell that our hosts put a lot of thought into what Sylvatica should be. It was comfortable, quiet, and clean. Their respect for the natural world is evident, and inspiring. Everything there is ecofriendy, and all the information about local flora and fauna was great. It is a bit far from other places, but we actually really enjoyed the drive to and from Munising. I recommend this place if you're looking for cosy lodging where you can be closer to nature.

    Benjamin2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Exquisite and quiet place to unwind. You will fall in love with this beautiful cabin!

    Doreen2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, serene, gorgeous retreat in a beautiful locale. Lots of great sights and hikes nearby. The eco lodge was clean and spacious. Would love to visit again!

    Anthony2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice couples getaway. Quiet and peaceful. Reasonable base for 4+ hour day trips. Isolated location best for cooking in and relaxing. Pictures accurately document what you will find. Clean and comfortable.

    M2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you are seeking to “get away from it all” , this is the place for you! Serene, scenic and spotless! The lodge is totally and tastefully decorated in/with nature items. The in-house, personally researched and custom-designed notebook was stocked with suggestions on where to hike and visit. Once dark, we enjoyed viewing the night sky or perusing one of over 100 nature books featured in their personal library.

It was quiet and the other cabins are further away so you do get your own privacy as well. We had an amazing stay and definitely recommend for others to stay here.

  • We stayed at Craig’s cabin for a mini family vacay. The kids had a great time and were asking to come back before we left. The cabin has a wonderful view and a nice cozy feel. We’ll definitely be back next fall.

  • Craig is an outstanding host and his property is beautiful. If you love the outdoors this is the place to stay in the U.P.

    Alex2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the cabin for a few days with my dog and we both had a fantastic time! We explored open spaces, went hiking, fishing on the lake and then enjoyed the sunset over the lake. The sauna took the experience to another level and I would highly recommend it! Craig and his family were excellent hosts and I hope to be back for a longer visit soon!

    Nika2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful Week at the Cabin. We were kayaking on the Lake, we used the wonderful Sauna. The Cabin is just great, it is a very quiet and peaceful Place. Also we - like all others- do absolutely recommemnd this place to unplug! The Host Family is really kind and very open and they are just perfect.

    Bernhard2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was our favorite place ever. We will be going back next year for another visit. Very private and secluded. Access to jonboat and kayaks was the best. Spent all day, everyday outside. Overall we loved it and would most definitely recommend staying here if you want to be “roughing it” but also basic amenities. Our dogs loved it too, so much space to run, play and swim. Doesn’t have good service with Verizon, but who cares, unplug for the weekend!

    Brittany2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, wish we had more time. Usually tent camp once a year but decided on the cabin rental so we wouldn't have to pack in and out. Really had everything other than food and refrigeration. Property and the beach were awesome, hardly left the property. Thanks again!

    Dan2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Craig's cabin was a wonderful weekend escape for my wife and me. It was quiet and picturesque with amazing sunset views and night skies dark enough to see the Milky Way with a naked eye. Craig and his family were excellent hosts, ensuring we were comfortable throughout our stay. The cabin itself is cozy and clean. I would highly recommend Craig's cabin to anyone searching for a peaceful place to spend a few nights.

I loved the sweet welcome message from Tony and really wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we have the good fortune to visit the area, we’re booking this space!

  • My family and I really enjoyed a long weekend at this cabin. We marveled at the lush expanse of green lawn and enjoyed nightly s’mores at our private fire pit. There was a charcoal bbq for our use, as well as a picnic table and several deck chairs under a lovely shade tree. The cabin was very clean and comfortable with local photography prints and cozy quilts on each bed. We appreciated the coffee pot and the stock of silverware, cups, and plates, etc. Don’t forget to pack coffee, spices, charcoal, and bottled water! They’ve thought of nearly everything else, from marshmallow sticks to extra blankets if needed. There’s also firewood for sale and canoes/kayaks to rent at a low cost. The sweeping sunsets on the water were just breathtaking, followed by a perfect view of the stars. This little 4-unit cabin, located on a quiet street with little traffic, was just the relaxing getaway we needed! We are looking forward to a return trip.

  • Hope's house is a wonderful place to stay. It has everything you need for a short or longer stay. It was very clean, bed comfortable and kitchen fully stocked. Love that the house backyard is a lake and we really enjoyed the fire pit. We visited the Pictured Rocks ( only an hour away) and the Kitch-iti-kipi ( maybe 15 min). These are must to see if you'll visit Hope's house. Would definitelly come back :)

  • This is a great place to stay in Garden. The room was clean and well presented, and breakfast in the morning was lovely. Nancy, our host, was very friendly too. She brought us cookies in the evening while we were sat reading, cooked us a great breakfast, and while we were eating she chatted to us about our trip, even making recommendations about places we should see, which we found very helpful.

    Claire2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • A very quiet and comfortable B & B.

STONINGTON CLEARVIEW COTTAGE SLEEPS: 2 comfortable (4 environmentally conscientious people is the absolute max due to water conservation) BEDROOMS: 1 + loft = 2 sleeping rooms BATHROOMS: 1- full *LAKEFRONT (Lake Michigan) *PETS ARE WELCOMED Did you used to like to camp, yet crave a comfortable bed, and prefer the luxury of indoor plumbing that you don't need to share with your neighbors? Are you environmentally conservative with your water usage? Do you love to sit by the fire, relaxing and taking in the view? Is a sandy beach a bonus for you? If so, this is the ideal cabin for you! At the point between Little Bay de Noc and Big Bay de Noc, this cabin is ideal for capturing the beauty of Lake Michigan. Watch the freighters pass by on gorgeous Lake Michigan. Have your morning coffee while you watch the eagles soar overhead, or take the view in from behind the big picture window in the cabin. Sunsets are spectacular here! Enjoy the privacy and solitude without immediate neighbors. This cozy cabin, and its tranquil location, will capture your heart as you find respite from busy schedules and everyday stress. It would be an ideal writer's retreat, or a quiet, cozy get-away for an environmentally conscientious couple. This cabin is ideally situated for active exploration. Bring your bike and enjoy miles of well-paved, quiet roads winding past bucolic farms, or bring your kayak. The clear, shallow waters of the quiet cove are perfect for kayakers. Anglers will enjoy the outstanding fishing opportunities at Big Bay and Little Bay De Noc. Enjoying hiking miles of trails within driving distance of the Stonington. We are happy to announce that the beach in front of the Stonington Clearview Cottage is wide and sandy at the moment (May 2016) . It's been an ideal beach since the ice melted. Still, the tides do change at times, and in 2014, we did not have a beach. Therefore, if the beach is a bonus, and not a necessity, you'll love it here! The pathway down to the beach has some sea grass, yet it an easy stroll, all within 50 feet of the cottage door. Water conservation at the cottage is not only nice, it is essential. The water system needs to be purged for 30 seconds each morning to clear the filter. This is easily done by pressing the button located in the master bedroom. We have a 45 gallon holding tank. Once the tank runs dry, it fills at a rate of 6 gallons/hour. The daily amount of water most people normally use in their homes in the city would be excessive here. Daily showers for a family of 4, especially if you have average teenagers, in addition to multiple dish washings and toilet flushing (especially by teens or older family members) could result in a loss of water pressure before the week is out. Yes, sometimes the water will appear to have a brownish tint-- that is solely due to the iron in the water. Go green in this beautiful lakefront cottage! Drinking water is provided during your stay at the Stonington Cottage. A water cooler is provided at the cabin, so you will have plenty of drinking water during your stay at the Clearview Stonington Cottage. Cara's favorite point about this cottage: This unique location--- right at the tip of the Stonington Peninsula, where the Little and Big Bay De Noc meet in Lake Michigan. I love that it gives you a great vantage point to see the freighters. The fire pit is set up perfectly. Beds: Main floor: 1 Queen Bed Upstairs (open loft): 2 double/full-sized beds. **Caution-- even though we have plenty of bedroom space, the challenge for most people at this beautiful cabin is the strict water conservation that is required for your stay. Therefore, 2 is the ideal number of people at the Stonington Cottage.** Distances from: Peninsula Point Lighthouse- Very close to the cottage. Come for a visit and see where the Monarch Butterflies hang out around mid September! Picture Rocks National Lakeshore- 1 hour away Tahquamenon Falls State Park- 139 miles and 2 hours 55 minutes away. Mackinac Bridge- 148 miles and 3 hours 4 minutes away. Nearest Boat Launch:Fayette Historic State Park, On Swede 13th Rd, 2.8 miles from property Frequently Asked Questions: (FAQ) Beach: This is a small, natural, Lake Michigan beach. In 2016 and as of May of 2017, there has been a nice, sandy beach area. In 2015, the beach was underwater. Grill: Yes, there is a charcoal grill at the cottages. Pets are welcome! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $50/per pet. Water: Most of our guests and the owner's themselves have no problem with the water. Still, we have found that people from the city, who are used to an unlimited amount of water at all times have run the well dry during their stay, and have had to wait a few hours for it to slowly refill. This is a shallow well. We always like to fully disclose any potential hiccups.

  • This place is amazing! There was a lot of space and privacy. The place was fully stocked and we had everything we needed and more! We loved waking up every morning to the sound of crashing waves and seeing the beautiful wildlife. We saw a lot of whitetail deer. This place is definitely awesome for the nature lover! Highly recommend!

  • Charming family holiday cottage fitted out with the essentials exactly as you would do it if it were yours. Water conservation is really not difficult and the water supply is fine. Swimming in the lake was delicious. There is a canoe for the energetic. Charcoal BBQ just the right size. Huge fridge. Coffee maker takes ground coffee (filters provided). Saw birds of prey and a Bambi running by the lake. Very quiet. Very private. Ideal for unplugging (but the WiFi died does work). Only regret was not booking it for longer.

    Joshua2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clearview Cottage exceeded our expectations. It was secluded, felt like we were surrounded by woods on three sides and a spectacular view of Lake Michigan out the huge living room window. It was clean and cozy and quiet. I felt bad to have had to text the host about a couple of minor things, and they responded pronto! even though it was Sunday morning. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer.

    Beth2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Clearview Cottage was the perfect slice of northern Michigan to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Peaceful location with an amazing view of the lake, and not far from Escanaba, Pictured Rocks, and Marquette. Clean and comfortable, and plenty of water for 2 + pup. Thanks so much for the stay, we hope to join you again sometime!

    Angela2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place is set up with everything you need. We enjoyed the fire pit a lot, had a nice bbq and enjoyed the lake view. Water was not an issue.

    Cristina2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a quiet getaway! We had no trouble with the water conservation between two adults, plenty of drinking water provided. Loved that we could bring our pup with us and let her experience the water for the first time!

    Alyssa2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect escape from the city if you are looking for a quiet and remote vacation! The cabin is in a very secluded location near the end of the peninsula. We brought our dog and spent a lot of time on the private beach during the day and firepit at night. If you come at the right time of year, you can see the monarch butterfly migration at the lighthouse. The kitchen and outdoor grill were great for cooking (the closest grocery store is about 30 minutes by car, so it's best to plan ahead and bring your own groceries). Would love to visit again!

Adventure U.P.2 is a quiet little cabin on a paved country road,6 miles from the closest town. You’ll love my place because of the quiet woods, fire-pit for quiet campfires where you may hear owls, coyotes, and many varieties of birds, and the coziness of a U.P. cabin. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Nothing fancy but functional!

The cabin was equipped with everything I could have possibly needed... kitchen supplies, extra blankets, soap, etc. Very comfortable mattresses. Fire pit outside. Close to lots of attractions including light houses, Little Bay de Noc, Hiawatha trails for 4wheeling-hiking-horse-back riding... I plan to go back.

This retired family home provides a front and back entrance, two off-street parking spots, ample street parking. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are found on the first floor. The bathroom and sleeping areas are located on the second floor. Conveniently near all Gladstone has to offer!
Guests will have the entire house to themselves. Sally and her family live next door in the neighboring home, and while she is available if assistance is needed, she will not intrude after check-in.
Our humble abode is located just two blocks away from Gladstone’s downtown, the center of activity in town. The house is also within walking distance of local restaurants and bars and approximately a quarter-mile walk from VanCleve Park located on Little Bay de Noc.

  • This house was a great low price option to stay in Gladstone. The house is large and roomy. The kitchen was fully stocked. The bath towels and linens were fully stocked too. The place was sparkling clean! I felt the queen, full and one twin bed were soft beds that were great for my back, but the twin off the bathroom is very firm for anyone needing a firm mattress. The bathroom has double doors so it can be entered from either the upstairs hall, or one of two connecting twin bedrooms. If you had one person in the firm twin, I could see it being a pain to use the bathroom from the other twin that adjoins, but we had no one there so it is fine. A couple of electrical outlets we tried didn't work, but that was fine. I would only mention that the house just has an 'old days' kind of smell - not bad or musty, just the kind I'd smell at my great-grandma's. I actually enjoyed it for the old memories :) and of course after a while, you never noticed it. The house is located in a nice area and we felt safe and had a great time! I'd stay here again and again.

She upgraded me to her roomy lower level space, which included a private bath, a large screen TV, and a work area. I hope to return during the summer time to enjoy the beach area. This property is extraordinary.

  • Monica's place is sparkling clean and beautiful. There were other people renting other rooms and there is a shared bathroom with a shower. Monica and her husband have their own bath. Everyone was friendly and her husband even offered fresh popcorn as they were engaging with other guests. This was a nice overnight getaway and I would definitely be back. They have 160' of frontage on a Lake Michigan Bay area where others were also enjoying an ice fishing getaway.

  • Very quiet and secluded, only saw a couple people in 48 hours. It really feels like a lake house should. A short walk across the lawn leads to a nice pebble beach with plenty of skipping stones and if there is a good South wind some pretty sizeable waves. Would definitely recommend.

Please check out our guide to see whats to see, eat, and do in our area.
  • Wow! Just Wow! Monica and Morley literally welcomed us into their home with open arms. I've never felt so "at home" away from home. The space was perfect for us. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were nice. The suite was large and the newly updated bathroom was perfect and was stocked with the necessities. A Keurig in the room with K-cups was nice as well. The room has its own thermostat to set the temp to your liking. I'm a firefighter and was happy to see there was an egress window for escape in case of emergency. The shared spaces were sparking clean! We were welcome to use just about anything we liked including the kitchen. A warm gas fireplace in the great room that overlooks the lake was absolutely beautiful. Our stay was short and packed full of adventure so we were not able to take advantage of the sauna, but we look forward to it when we return! Monica and Morley gave us tons of pointers and ideas for things to do in the area. Located just a few minutes from Rapid River, we went to the Swallow Inn for Friday Fish fry. The whitefish was delicious and the salad bar was awesome! I believe Marquette was just under an hour drive. Thank you Monica and Morley for making our last minute trip to the U.P. so memorable! See you again sometime soon!!!

  • We immediately felt a part of Monica and Morley’s family while staying here. Their home is welcoming and cozy, and they make sure you get to experience all the best the UP has to offer. From letting us use their snowshoes to lighting up their woodfire sauna for us after each day in the snow, we were sad to say goodbye!

  • A great stylish place on the UP, with awesome hosts!

  • Amazing! We came up to do some ice fishing and it could not have been more perfect. Place to park the trailer, the snowmobile, and the popup shanty. We fished all day, rested at night after amazing sauna. The host is friendly and not invasive. You hardly knew they were there. Clean, lots of room, hot showers, and very comfortable beds. We will be back for sure!

    Jason2020-01-24T00:00:00Z

***NEWLY REMODELED BATHROOM!*** Are Mom & Pop motels right up your alley? We are open year-round and pet friendly! We are truly a home-based business as we live on the premises and are very attentive to your needs. We are located within a few hours of most of the Upper Peninsula attractions. Whether you’re looking to fish, swim, golf, bike, scuba dive, snowmobile, cross-country ski, shop, sight-see, or just relax, our motel provides easy access to most of what brings people to the U.P.
If quaint, little places are your vibe, you'll likely enjoy it here! The pace here is slower, the people friendlier, and the connection to nature is as close as the backyard. Right out back there are hiking trails that lead all the way to Lake Superior if you're inclined to go that far! And...you commented, we listened! Room #3 has a brand new bathroom!! Take a look at the accompanying pictures to see how far we've come with this bathroom. We're very proud of this renovation and hope you enjoy your stay in this awesome room.
The U.P. is an exceptional area of the United States! We are surrounded by the Great Lakes, all of which can be accessed within a day trip. The one-hour trip up to Lake Superior is exceptional and the owners love to make suggestions about sites to see. Kitchitikipi (Palms Book State Park) is a site held sacred by local indigenous people and has a deep pond that stays the same temperature year-round with a cabled barge that crosses it. Fayette State Park is a preserved iron smelting town a short distance from us. Lighthouses and waterfalls make for great tours around here, also.
  • The place was wonderful and the people were all so kind! we’ll be back for sure!

    SaraMae2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a place to stay, the bathroom exceeded my expectations

    David2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for the little book of tips for things to do. The recommendations on where to eat were great. The local little restaurant had great breakfast. (Jacks). The room was clean and I loved the new shower. All in all a great experience.

    Karla2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie was so very kind and communicative with us!! We let her know our time frame in arriving, though it was later than we meant it to be. She was very understanding and thoughtful!! Her place was so cozy and we felt right at home. It was very clean and even had a recently remodeled bathroom. This really helped update the space. There was a cute bookshelf filled with books you could use while there, a great TV and a coffee maker!! We felt super at home in Bonnie's place and would absolutely come here again! We wish we could have stayed longer!!!

    Jessie2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie's place was extremely sweet! Everything from the beautiful hanging plants outside with the extra outdoor seating to the remodeled bathrooms was so inviting. My older son even enjoyed the labyrinth created out back. Would definitely stay again! Bonnie was on hand to answer any questions and to help make it a great place to stay.

    Amy2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie was so helpful to us after we had a bumpy trip - after a cancelled flight and unexpected 6 hour drive Bonnie held our room even though we missed the first night of our reservation. Just warm and hospitable through and through! Thanks again, Bonnie!

  • It was amazing staying at the Summit house. My friends and I booked entire house for our fall trip and we loved every moment of it. Free chocolate bars and caramel candies totally made our day. Hosts are also polite and friendly. Will totally recommend to anyone going to upper peninsula.

  • The Summit house is as good as they get when renting an AirBnb. It was clean and fully stocked with kitchen acquire. The amenities were fantastic offering a full kitchen, washer and dryer and access to internet at no additional cost. The smallest things like coffee and candy were special touches. The most significant thing that these spectacular hosts offered were home cooked meals. They were delicious, healthy and literally made from scratch. I would recommend The Summit House to anyone traveling through the Upper Peninsula. I will definitely be back. Thank you Chef Ken and Sue for an unforgettable weekend. Nicole Kammer

Signe's is a two bedroom Cottage on Little Bay De Noc. Sunsets are beautiful. It has a full kitchen, linen, towels, and a tv. Great Access to the lake by quads or snowmobiles for ice fishing. There is a fire pit and a charcoal grill. A dock is available for a small boat in the summer time.
  • Awesome location and great host

    Drew2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The VIEW makes this place worth the trip! Don’t let the fact that it’s an older cottage scare you off. We were a bit apprehensive but it’s extremely clean, well-maintained & not a hint of mold anywhere inside(not always the case with homes on the water). We are already making plans to come back & look forward to working with John again! Don’t miss out on this hidden gem.

    Marjorie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house was fantastic! Such the perfect little getaway. It was such a great area as long as you’re okay with traveling a bit to your destination. We loved the waterfront, very shallow so it was perfect for us to paddle board. John was very welcoming and even let us know where he’d be staying in case of emergencies. We will definitely be back!!

    Tyler2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was very clean, had many kitchen amenities, and is in a great location! My wife and I had coffee on the dock in the morning, we grilled with our family, and had a campfire on our last night. There are many great outdoors activities and sights close by. Would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.

Around the corner from Lake Michigan, this private studio with kitchenette is walking distance to downtown, Ludington Park marina, beaches, & lighthouse. Enjoy kayaking, biking, snowshoeing & x-country skiing. Short walk to museum, art center, local eateries & nightlife. It's a short drive to Lake Superior, historic parks & lakeshore parks.
Travelers are welcome to relax in the private quarters of my home. As a local artist, I have found inspiration in the neighborhood with its marina, shipping channels, lighthouse and sandy beaches. I hope you will too. Bayside B&B, situated on Little Bay de Noc in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is centrally located for daytrips to Marquette, Kitch-iti-kipi (Michigan's largest freshwater spring), Fayette Historic State Park, Piers Gorge, and favorite canoeing rivers like the AuTrain. There is original artwork by local artists throughout the BnB. Sales are available. Note: We are in the Eastern Time zone
This quiet neighborhood is a wonderful blend of park, waterfront and downtown. At the north end of the park, the Municipal Dock provides views of Escanaba's shipping lanes. Free summer concerts at the park's band shell are presented 2 -3 x per week. Strolling the downtown will provide viewing of the lighthouse, Delta Historical Society and exhibits at the Bonifas Arts Center. A selection of family owned restaurants, coffee shops and a local craft brewery provide tasty menu selections and night life.
  • Was in Escanaba for a conference and touring area. Pasqua’s place was perfect location to walk to restaurants and shops. Although we were primarily at the place at night sleeping I did have the opportunity to meet Pasqua. She is very kind and I value the time I spent with her.

    Kathy2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Pasque was a great host! She's a great communicator and a bubbly person. The room was clean and we were made very comfortable by the atmosphere. I couldn't be happier. It made a good impression on my wife as well, as this is her first experience at an AirBNB room. Thanks Pasque!

  • This place was better than expected and came with everything you could ask for and then some, They even had an out door fire pit ready to go with wood. We came up snowmobiling and there is a trail that runs across the lake and brings you right to the groomed trails or you can go out the road cross the main road and take a small atv trail right to the main trail. Highly recommended for a snowmobile trip with lots of parking !!! Just a great place to stay !!!!

    Kenny2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had 4 snowmobilers stay her for 4 nights and the place was great. All 4 had there own beds and even the pull out bed was pretty comfortable. Easy trail access from the cabin. You would not have a problem parking a couple trailers in the drive way.

  • This is a very cozy remote cabin in the UP. It was close to many tourist attractions that we wanted to experience while we were there including Pictured Rocks, Kitchitikipi, hiking, trails, and there’s a grocery store about 20 minutes away. The home is stylishly appointed and better than we were anticipating. We plan on future trips here!

    Austin2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I absolutely loved thunder cove cabin!!! The cabin was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed plus much more!! Loved taking the provided kayaks on thunder lake and stopping at the sandbar. The cabin is quiet and remote, just what we were hoping for!! The provided firewood was awesome, we cooked by the fire almost every night!! Several things to do in the UP and the cabin offers up many ideas for all ages! Already miss it, can’t wait to return!!

    Amanda2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our overall stay at Thunder Cove Cabin! All of the finishing touches and amenities, the cabin charm, made wonderful memories for our sons (ages 7 and 4 3/4!) There are lots of places within driving distance of the cabin, but it is very remote. Our only complaint would be that the fishing boat that is a part of the rental was not available to us, and during the summer on a lake that is where we wanted to be most - on the water! The owners were very responsive and kind, and I would definitely stay there during summer, fall or winter - absolutely beautiful and private setting!

    Sheila2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The view was as good as the pictures! We enjoyed going out on the rented canoe and exploring the water - even seeing a small muskrat or beaver close to the boat. The house was very clean and provided a very large open downstairs which was fabulous for a family getaway. There was a lot of couches, chairs, and tables - plenty of room for a large party to eat or play cards. The WiFi and directv provided great ways to stay connected. The house had great instructions and Cyndi our host was super responsive. We were only a couple miles from convenience stores and a Dollar General for any food runs. We’d definitely stay here again if ever in the area!

  • What a wonderful, secluded, up north, refreshing vacation home. Just the right amount of far away, yet close enough to town. The pond and property is the sparkling gem of it all! Coffee on the porch all week will tide me over until our next stay.

  • The cabin in the woods is a perfect title, the whole place surpassed our expectations. Not only was the cabin homey and comfortable, it had every amenities you could think of. Great location too! Only an hour from pictured rocks, which is good since everything is so far from each other up north.

  • Spent 5 nights here while visiting family in Escanaba. This place is exactly what we were looking for. Spacious, family friendly, great location, impeccably clean, loaded with all the household items for our family of 6. Library across the street is a huge perk for kids. Can’t do better in Escanaba and at a great price. Coleen is quick to respond and made us feel welcome.

  • Nancy, was super welcoming and over all a wonderful host. She prepared breakfast for us every morning, engaged us in conversation and gave us plenty of tips for exploring and dining in the area. The house was very clean and the beds were really comfortable. The home itself is very charming and has a lot of cute art pieces all over. Parking was not an issue, as they have their own parking area for guests. I felt safe in the house and in the room. Overall I highly recommend this location, there is a lot to do nearby and the host & house were great.

  • This was my first stay with an air bnb so my expectations were low. I'm embarrassed at feeling that way now, Nancy is a professional who embraces all the steps of hospitality. I have an extensive background with hotels and couldn't possibly have been more pleased with my stay. I highly recommend staying here!
